Yeah, it was a nice scene Isane and Zante had, and yeah, with him as a father, Zante wouldn't have a normal childhood. Zante and Asia are beginning to get along yeah. Kalawarner wanted to put her thoughts across for sure. Zante surely did take part in those events. Nyx was yeah, we'll learn more of their history as the story goes on. Yeah, Nyx definitely has eyes on Vali and Ingvild, and yeah her powers are more wildly known as they've grown stronger. We'll be seeing what Nyx is up too. Ophis could be. Chapter 17
Standing in front of a primordial Goddess wasn't exactly in Zante's plans. Her eyes radiated a danger that not many others could replicate so easily.
The abandoned church shook while Nyx stood silently staring at Zante. Dark waves flow from her like ripples in the ocean.
The ground below her was tinged in her darkness, and the sky was beginning to also blacken out as if night had come despite it being the middle of the day.
Freed was freaking out behind Zante, even as crazy as Freed was, he knew to not go up against such a strong level of power.
So he tried to quickly and quietly get away from the situation.
But Zante immediately waved his hand, casting a sleeping spell on him, his eyes cloud and fell face first into the dirty covered floor, while Zante kept his eyes on Nyx.
Nyx claps her hand like an excited school girl. "My, oh my~ Look how delicious you're being~ I'm beginning to fall in love all over again~"
Zante sighed, while Nyx showed her devilish grin that could match the likes of a real Devil. "So, you've decided to show up again. What is it this time? After my Bishop? My Queen? Or all of the above?"
Nyx smacked her lips together, her darkness swirling in her palm. "Could be both, really you've got delicious beings on your side. Are you quite lucky? Or are you really seeking out the strongest to join your group? Going with descendants of Old Maou's, both with Longinus level Sacred Gears. You even have some rare Nekoshou on your side, and a Phenex. Really, your group is the very definition of rare breeds."
Zante showed his own devilish smirk, as he began radiating his Power of Destruction energy.
The energy soared into the sky, surprising Nyx when she saw that his Power of Destruction cut through her darkness, allowing the sun to be shining down onto them again.
She was bathed in the light, as was Zante, annoying her, while Zante showed a half smile. "I aim to give people a home in my peerage, regardless of things like that."
Nyx grins like a madwoman, and releases a pulse of darkness.
Zante forms a shield of Power of Destruction, blocking the attack, which crumbled the church all around them by the aftershock, Zante exhaled deeply, and raised his hand, allowing Power of Destruction to gather into a ball.
Nyx didn't seem to be worried, and simply stepped side to side as if she was a hockey goalie ready for the game to begin. "You've made me really excited right now, can we fight? Can we do something fun?"
"Yeah, I'll give you something fun alright." When Zante said it, the world changed.
Power of Destruction energy roared off of him like a Dragon. His destructive energies circulated his body, and he wore it like an armour.
The release of his energies began to cause the very earth to shake, rippling out throughout the town. The air visibly vibrates, being obliterated by just being in the presence of Zante, something that caused Nyx to gain happiness.
While Nyx was distracted by that, she failed to see the initial ball of destruction he formed came shooting like a star for her.
"Damn." She reacted at the last moment, but the Power of Destruction hit her arm, digging through her protective clothing and drew a little bit of blood before she repelled it away from her, Nyx's eyes heavily laid on Zante, a dangerous smirk beginning to grow on her face.
Meanwhile, Rias was at the home together with Akeno, going along their day, when they began feeling the very earth shaking.
"W-What the?" Rias murmured, feeling the couch she sat on shaking.
Akeno felt a pang in her heart. "This doesn't feel natural."
No sooner as she said it, Vali came shooting down the stairs, and lands on the ground. "I'm going. Zante's fighting a Goddess."
"What?! How do you know? I can't sense anything..." Rias roared in shock.
"He's shaking the ground, he wouldn't do that unless he's alerting us something is going on, so I sensed, and got the faint aura of a Goddess, seems like someone's gone through the trouble to hide themselves, if I didn't know where he was, I'd not have sensed it, there also seems to be some kind of barrier around them blocking them from the outside."
Akeno held a hand to her chest, feeling worry seeping through her heart. "A Goddess…Nyx, right?"
"Yes, it seems like that. Stay here, we'll go and deal with this." Vali quickly opened the door to the house, pausing as she began turning to the others.
"What should we do Vali? We can't just sit here." Rias called after her.
"There's a nun upstairs, make sure she doesn't do anything dangerous, or be attacked. Alert Sona as well, make sure she gathers her group so they aren't targets, Nyx is unpredictable after all. Make sure your peerage is also accounted for, you never know what she might try and do." Vali soon left.
Akeno folds her arms, her eyes going out of the window.
She could feel Zante's presence more and more throughout the entire town, knowing that if he was going serious, then he was fighting an incredible powerful opponent.
She hoped he'd be safe, the same for Rias who couldn't fight a Goddess currently, but could send her love to her lover, and hope he'd be okay.
Back with Nyx, Zante's eyes met with Nyx's own, as Power of Destruction energy spewed off of his form. The energy was so strong that the ground shattered around him. What remained of the church vanished in a violent burst.
Though the humans remained alive, including Freed since Zante took special measure not to take them out.
Nyx on the other hand was so excited right now. "This power is so beautiful, I can feel all of your energies surrounding you and aimed at me! Now this is what I expect of a King who controls the Hakuryuukou."
"I wouldn't let Vali-chan hear you say I control her, I'm sure she'd have the opposite thought." Zante mused, his fingers draped in Power of Destruction.
The armour around him looked incredibly durable and powerful. Since it was purely made from Power of Destruction, whatever would go near it, would be enveloped, and vanish, finely tuning it after studying his Queen's armour, and various other beings, so he could have a form ready to fight and defend at the same time.
Nyx held the biggest smile on her face.
The very idea of being able to fight Zante like this, it was like a dream come true.
She could feel his power radiating like a sun, a bright supernova that was ready to detonate at any moment, and she loved it so very much. "I'm gonna enjoy fighting you, Zante Bael-kun. Because those Sacred Gear wielders, are some of the more dangerous things, its better to make sure they're controlled, and don't get too wild."
"Plus, the idea of being able to control powerful Dragons. Quite an incentive for you, isn't it?" Zante mused.
Nyx didn't disagree. "Really, in the hands of humans or even hybrids of humans. Its astounding how that even happens, isn't it? Humans gifted with this power, and yet have so narrow minded views that they'll never use them to the right potential. Its better to make sure the humans of this era don't end up with powerful gears."
"If you go for them, then you're dealing with me. And that's my promise." Zante told her how it was, and she loved it so very much.
"You're making me feel so hot right now." Nyx ran her hand down towards her breasts, and showed an excitable smile. "Come to me, Zante-kun, and we'll grow even stronger together."
"Speaking of." Zante placed a hand to his body, and used his mastery of Magic, releasing a spell that enhanced his physicality. Speed, reflexes, strength, durability were all raised with Enhancement Magic.
Nyx grinned gleefully, and sadistically. "Ooh, so you're using magic now, are you? Good, I'm happy to see it. Now show me your power!"
Nyx unleashed a wave of darkness to take Zante down.
But Zante thrust his hand out, and a giant fist of Power of Destruction energy released like a train, tackling the attack head on, and caused a massive explosion between them, forcing both Zante, and Nyx back at the same time.
Nyx dusts off her shirt, when she sees Zante on her so quickly. His natural speed enhanced with magic gave him crazy levels of speed, something that she couldn't dodge, so she opted to raise a wall of darkness.
His foot went out, and smashed into the darkness. His Power of Destruction armour ate through the darkness, as the pressure of the kick was strong enough to shatter the darkness like glass, Nyx staring in awe as she saw his foot collide with her face.
"Ugh!" She was sent hurdling back several paces, before she came to a complete stop.
Flinging her hand to her back, using darkness tendrils, wrapping up debris in them, enhancing them with her darkness, Nyx launched the projectiles at Zante, moving faster than the speed of light.
Zante raised his arms for defence, crossing them over his body in an X shape, and tanked the shots. The darkness managed to break through some of his armour, but it fixed itself as Zante's aura constantly radiated from him.
Taking in deep breaths, Nyx found herself feeling excited for the fight that was to come, seeing 'her boy' having become stronger than ever, and wished to test out this new level of strength.
"Alright then boy, give me your best shot, and I'll give you mine. Don't blame me if you become in pain!" Nyx summoned her darkness, and released it towards Zante.
Zante shot forward, powering through the attacks. The darkness did strip his Power of Destruction armour, but the armour did its work, and protected his body from being damaged, allowing him to get in close to her and the Power of Destruction soon filled in the missing portions of the armour once more.
"Haaaaaaah!" Zante threw his fist filled with Power of Destruction energy.
Nyx tried to block it with her darkness, when Zante unleashed a bombardment of Power of Destruction.
Nyx was blown back by the shockwave, hitting the ground harshly.
Though she raises to her feet, winking at 'her boy'.
"Love the armour by the way, tranquility in destruction. Such beauty in art." Nyx aims her hand upwards, and then shoots off her darkness.
Zante watches as the darkness forms clouds in the sky, which release bullets down towards the young man.
Nyx smirked as Zante snapped his hand upwards, and created a massive shield of Power of Destruction. The darkness shots rained down, and broke through a majority of the shield, but it held long enough for Zante to be safe.
Nyx thrusts her hands outwards, and unleashed darkness waves right at Zante.
Zante could feel the godly aura behind the attacks, and decides to avoid them with incredible speed. He zips through the sky, while Nyx tries to lock him down with her darkness, coming closer and closer.
"Nyx has stepped up her game huh…if my peerage were here…until that time, I'll have to fight her myself."
Zante claps his hands together, as shots of darkness caught up to him.
Ripping through his armour, the darkness scrapes his skin, but doesn't cause him to bleed, thanks to the Power of Destruction armour eating through the darkness, weakening it.
From Zante's clasped hands, Power of Destruction energy circulates around his hands, then he thrusts it outwards for Nyx.
"What is this?" Nyx's form was enveloped by the generating huge tornado of Power of Destruction.
The power was so expansive that it was beginning to spread into the small forest outside of the churches grounds, obliterating the trees without even being near them, the simple release of his shockwaves were more than enough to destroy them.
Nyx inside of the tornado summons her darkness, erupting it all around her. However, when she did, the darkness begins to spin into the Power of Destruction energy, causing it to be disintegrated to a degree as it bombarded the twister, breaking it down at the same time.
Nyx held impressed eyes, looking all around her.
"Smart, using the twisting destruction to weaken my power with the power of suction to compel the darkness to spread to certain areas of the twister. Truly, this naughty boy is a genius after all. But its not enough for me my love!"
Nyx released her darkness even more, surrounding the entire twister.
Her power broke through the twister of destruction, causing it to collapse as it ate through her darkness.
When it vanished, she smirked as her eyes turned to Zante.
However, she yelled "Aaaaaaah!" when she received a fist full of Power of Destruction, sending her flying for a mile west, digging into the ground, uprooting it as she did so, but then stopped herself as she dug tendrils of darkness into the ground.
In that moment, she sensed Zante above her, so looked up to see from up above, that Zante had summoned a large ball in the sky, compressed Power of Destruction that grew to the size of a four story building.
Despite the size, if the power wasn't compressed, Nyx would have believed it would be the size of half of Kuoh easily, showing the levels of power and control that he had.
"There's my boy." Nyx licked her lips, as Zante unleashed the power.
"Yeah, and here's your reward, my girl." Zante's destruction orb slammed into Nyx's body, as she summoned her darkness.
She used it to combat the Power of Destruction, seeing it eating away at her power of darkness, all the while moving closer and closer to her body.
"Have this!" Zante released a shockwave of Power of Destruction, smashing it against the large orb of destruction.
Nyx felt her feet breaking through the ground from the shockwave, so she channelled more of her darkness into defending, knowing this power could easily kill an Ultimate Class Devil without them being able to fight against them, which made her so very happy.
She pushed her powers further, and ripped through the destructive ball. Though she saw that her body had suffered a few wounds, Nyx clapped her eyes on Zante, seeing him releasing a small pant.
Nyx saw her own blood trickle out of her body and run down onto the ground. "This is really something interesting. This power you've got, really is very dangerous."
"All for you, my dear." Zante retorts, getting into a fighting stance.
Zante's power radiates beautifully from his form, while Nyx coats her being in twisting everlasting darkness.
Her wounds got sealed up by her power, so she didn't bleed anymore, and was determined to do the same thing to her favourite Devil in the sky.
Meanwhile, Vali tried approaching Zante's location, when she was stopped by a barrier.
Vali shot off a blast of demonic power, only for the barriers power to stop it in its tracks, causing her to scowl.
"Tch, that Goddess is trying to keep me out again is she?" Vali's armour shined all around her being, channelling her powers.
As she did, she felt something down below, and saw Ravel along with Ingvild.
So she flew down. "You two were with Zante, weren't you?"
"We stepped out to take the Fallen Angels away, then when we came back, this barrier formed and pushed us out for like a mile or two. Then we felt Zante-sama's power. Could it be that Nyx has tried her hand once more?" Ravel wondered.
Ingvild lowered her eyes. "The last time she did, Vali-san and myself…"
"This time, she's focused upon Zante." Vali sighed her frustrations. "But it doesn't mean she doesn't have another motive for going for us. It doesn't matter right now, Zante is fighting a Goddess along with whatever else is in there."
"You think something else is there?" Ravel wondered on confusion.
"Last time, we managed to fight her back. Nyx is a wild Goddess, but she isn't stupid either. She can be arrogant, but she is aware that we can resist her power. I wouldn't be shocked if she has something up her sleeve, and I'm sure Zante felt it, that's why he allowed his power to shake the town, to alert us to prepare. Where are the Nekoshou's?"
Ravel pursed her lips. "They're still working on some tasks. I shall call them immediately."
"Yeah, get them here." Vali retorts, showing a Queen like attitude in being the second in command. "This Goddess isn't someone we can easily defeat like other enemies, though she isn't all powerful either. Ingvild, increase my power with your song, then I'll destroy this barrier once the others get here. After that, we're launching an all out assault on Nyx, and any allies she has."
Ravel and Ingvild nod their heads, and begin getting to work.
Back with Zante, Nyx surrounds herself with everlasting darkness. Zante also noticed her clothing was barely damaged, recalling that she probably got some kind of defensive clothing, while she showed a dangerous smile on her face.
"You really are growing stronger all the time. I can feel the power radiating from your being." Nyx said with her eyes gleaming her anger.
Zante raised his head strongly. "Perhaps you've dulled in your senses since the last we fought one another."
Nyx clutched her hand tightly. "Trying to anger me, are you?"
"Whatever gave you that idea darling~?" Zante retorts jokingly.
Nyx laughed wildly. "You're funny. You're so funny, you're making me laugh! This is the fight I sought from you dear heart! Don't worry, I wanna show you my love!"
Zante grits his teeth. He raised his hand to the sky, and creates a perfect sphere of Power of Destruction energy, and releases it right towards Nyx.
Nyx laughs, and tries to shoot it down, though when one of her dark bolts hits the ball, the explosive shockwave was directed right back towards her, sending her flying through the air, as Zante used this chance to get in from behind her.
"Hah!" He released countless blades of Power of Destruction right for the Goddess herself, ready to pierce her.
Nyx turned in time, but received a few damaging blades of Power of Destruction, piercing her right shoulder, her left leg, her abdomen towards the right, among other places, before she could repel the blades with her powers.
Zante exhales, as Nyx shows an everlasting delightful grin on her face. "You really know how to show a girl a good time~"
"I aim to please." Zante released a large amount of Power of Destruction for her.
Nyx matches the destructive power with her darkness, though saw her darkness beginning to be eaten through with his powers, so she changed tactic, and dashed for the left through the air, and create a sharp blade of darkness, flinging it at Zante to pierce his chest.
Zante noticed it at the last possible moment, and moved his arm to intercept the blade, stabbing through the Power of Destruction, penetrating his skin, causing him to bleed, but didn't move beyond a few inches, and disappeared as Zante's armour collected itself around the broken parts once more.
Letting out a breath, Zante saw Nyx swaying side to side. "Tell me Zante-kun, how are your Longinus users anyway? Are they worrying right now? Because I'd be if I was them. I can feel them outside of the barrier, waiting to come and protect their King. Its so adorable, isn't it?"
"I think its called their feelings of love and admiration. And as their King, I can't show a bad side to me now, can I?" Zante let out his aura, and channelled it through his armour.
Increasing his overall destructive capabilities, Zante launched himself forward, and moved as if he was teleporting to most peoples eyes. Even Nyx was caught off guard by his increased speed, trying to follow him with her eyes.
"Aaaah!"
But Nyx was surprised when she received a blow to her right hand side, his fist digging into her flesh, Nyx waved her hand and shot off her darkness, Zante avoids it, and appears behind her, his demonic power releasing incredible waves of power.
Nyx flew through the sky, avoiding the power, when she saw Zante appear right next to her, she yelled "Shi-" but his fist dug into her stomach, releasing his Power of Destruction energy up close and personal.
Nyx managed to use darkness in time to avoid the worst case scenario, but his power reached her body and caused her stomach to bleed.
"Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!" Nyx roared, releasing her power against Zante, firing him backwards, and into the ground.
His armour managed to protect him, and then saw Nyx aim her hand down towards him.
He went to move, seeing her releasing her magic towards him in an attempt to cause damage, when he saw a Gods aura surrounding his entire body, wrapping around him like a cocoon, his eyes shooting for Nyx, and saw that it wasn't her that was doing it.
"You've teamed up with another God…!" Zante was surprised by his own words.
Nyx giggled like a school girl. "I was owed a favour, is all. Now, no more running around and do as I say, okay?"
With her finger extended outwards, Nyx yelled "Seal!" using her sealing magic to create a barrier space around Zante, and Zante only.
Zante saw the barrier enclosed all around him so tightly he couldn't even move his arms or legs, and the Godly aura still moving through his body, stopping him in place all together, as Nyx gathers darkness within her hand. "I thought you wanted to take me one on one."
Nyx shrugged. "I didn't actually ask for my ally to intervene, seems like they did it of their own accord. Though I'm a bit dissatisfied, I'm gonna be taking you with me, so when your peerage naturally worry and come for you, I'll take their powers, especially that adorable Ingvild, and use her powers to control even Great Red, and Ophis!"
Zante growled as he increased his Power of Destruction energy. He pushed and pushed through the Godly aura. Because he had fought Nyx already, his power wasn't at its best, and he did feel fatigue. So fighting off this Gods aura was difficult.
But Zante wouldn't give up, and used his magic on his own Power of Destruction, increasing its already incredible might, and powered through the aura of the God helping Nyx out, while Nyx charged up her darkness powers.
"Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!" Through sheer force of will, and his magic mixed with Power of Destruction, he broke through the deities aura, and the resulting blast severally damaged the barrier space containing him.
Nyx was surprised, to a degree that it gave her moments hesitation.
Zante took advantage of that and summoned all of his Power of Destruction energy, noticing the barrier around the area was shattered.
"You want my power, I'll give it to you Nyx!" Zante released his Power of Destruction right for the Goddess darkness in the form of a beam.
Nyx fired off her own attack at the same time, clashing violently with one another. Pushing against one another, Zante felt his power taking a hit from breaking the seal, but dug deep, as deep as he could do.
From behind Nyx, a tear in space appeared, Zante grits his teeth, knowing she was going to make an escape, so he releases even the armour around his form, adding it to his beam of destruction, and surprised Nyx.
Nyx saw her power of darkness being destroyed, and the beam travel for her body.
She released a barrier to block it, but the beam ripped through it after some struggle, washing over her, wounding her as she was dragged into the tear in space, yelling "No! I'm not finished Zante-kun!" as she was taken away, but not before Zante saw one last blade of darkness aimed for him.
He caught it, which cut into his hand.
But he crushed it with his strength, sighing as Nyx vanished.
Moments later, enemies appeared, as Zante lets out a few pants, holding his hands together as his energies drained from his body.
Fighting off a constraint seals of a God, along with fighting a Goddess, Zante did feel some fatigue, but it didn't mean he'd stop yet, and had plenty of fight in him...
But then, his peerage emerged, and barraged the enemies in defence of their King.
"Back off from our King." Vali came in and washed through the enemies with her demonic powers sweeping them away.
"Be gone with my song~!" Ingvild yelled, surprising the enemies with her radiant power, as she summoned water Dragons, which took chunks of the small invading force out.
"Do not touch Zante-sama!" Ravel yelled, unleashing her flames in a flamethrower like manner, charcoaling the enemies daring to strike.
"Do not touch my King." Koneko launched herself to the enemies, and punched them with her massive strength, shattering their bodies.
"Nyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!" Kuroka screamed a battle cry, unleashing her Senjutsu and Youjutsu mixed together, bombarding the last of the enemies, wiping them all out.
Zante relaxed his body and watched his peerage do their thing, breaking down the enemies, and killing them off.
Once finished, Kuroka rushed to Zante, and hugged him tightly, rubbing her head against his chest over and over again. "Zante-chan, are you alright!? I sensed two very strong powers coming from the barrier!"
Zante patted the back of her head, letting out a sigh of relief. "Yeah, I'm all good now."
"Nyx, wasn't it?" Vali asked.
Zante confirmed it. "Yeah, it was."
Ravel gave worried eyes. "It can't be, why did she try to attack now?"
"Honestly, beyond her wanting you guys, I think there's something more going on. And she has an ally as well, just lovely isn't it?" Zante exhaled. "Lets go and get Freed, and figure a few things out. The Goddess has gone, right Kuroka-san, Koneko-chan?"
The neko's nod.
"She's gone nyaaa~"
"So is the other figure."
Zante was glad to hear that, and they decided to head on home.
Later on, Zante and the others sat within the living room of their home. He was embraced by Akeno and Rias immediately upon arriving home, so he gently pats their backs at the same time, so they didn't have to worry about him.
"I'm alright, I promise." Zante expressed his thoughts.
"Are you sure?" Rias asked, worried. "You did fight a Goddess."
"And a God~" Kuroka added.
Akeno looked bewildered. "A God too? Who?"
Zante shrugged. "That I don't know, but someone aligned with Nyx, and held a good level of power, though I haven't met them, whoever they were. Wonder who would team up with someone like Nyx?"
Kuroka grins. "Maybe its someone who wants to also be with Zante-chan and wants to cuddle tightly?"
"So, someone like you?" Vali mused, cracking a very rare smile to the shock of the others.
Kuroka's eyes snap on Vali. "Me?! You think I'd team up with her?"
Vali shakes her head. "I was saying because you have great love for Zante, and have an intended mission in wanting to sleep with him, maybe Nyx would gravitate to someone like you."
Kuroka grinned wildly. "You understand me so well~ Though, I'd say its more of a calling than a mission nyaa. The future of the Nekoshou's rest on my shoulders, and Zante-chan's lovely member~"
Ravel splutters, while Koneko sighs deeply.
Akeno giggles. "Ufufu, it seems Kuroka-sama is really excited right now." Akeno's eyes turn to Zante, who offers her a relaxed face, seeing her worries growing. "Are you sure you're okay Zante-kun?"
Zante nods, patting the back of her head, embracing her close to his body. "Really, I am okay. You don't have to worry. Though I'll admit, facing not one, but two God level opponents, dream come true and also a difficult thought."
Vali could relate so well with him right now. "Especially since we didn't see who the other God was. I suspect he or she was the one keeping the barrier up, Nyx wouldn't have been able to keep it up and fight you at the same time."
Zante agreed, while Ravel ran a hand through her drill like curls. "At least she's gone for now, right Zante-sama?"
"I'd imagine so yeah, should be wounded for a time"
"Speaking of." Rias noted, looking to Zante's wounds. "You also got some injuries."
"I'll be okay, nothing life threatening." Zante assured them all.
Kuroka purses her lips, when Ingvild speaks up. "Then I shall heal our King with skin to skin contact. Eve-Even if our skin is touching one another erotically!"
Kuroka gasped, while Koneko put a hand to her forehead, sighing "Here we go." knowing Kuroka was going to say something.
"No nyaa, I'm going to heal Zante-chan with my body and my breasts. Its best if I do that nyaa. Because I have Senjutsu, and, and…well…" Kuroka got flustered as Ingvild held onto Zante's arm. "…Because I can be with Zante-chan that's why!"
"You were the other night though, or was it last night?" Ingvild mused.
Ravel shook her head. "Regardless, this is troubling Zante-sama. A Goddess slipped into Kuoh, that should've been detected earlier. Why wasn't it? None of us felt her at least a little bit? She is a powerful Goddess, I can't fathom how she'd have the capability to hide so well, even with magic. Even the Nekoshou's didn't sense her…"
Zante curled his lips down as he thought about the situation. "You're right, it should've been sensed. Even when she was near me, I didn't detect anything until the last possible moment. I can only assume somehow, someway, she got the resources to either teleport to our domain without any of us knowing, or she was able to suppress her aura so well none of us sensed her."
"Which seems difficult even for a Goddess to do." Vali noted.
Zante very much was in agreement with his Queen.
Rias ran a finger under her chin. "Fortunately, you were able to fight her off."
"Not pushed myself like that in a while besides when training with Vali-chan, I feel a little tired~"
Kuroka gave a lustful gaze, running a hand across her breast, when Koneko arched her body forward, and looked into Zante's eyes. "Zante-senpai. Do you need me to perform Bouchujutsu?"
"You wanna have sex, and send your Senjutsu into Zante-chan?!" Kuroka roared, then gleamed. "Great idea, lets do it nyaaa~"
Vali scowled at the flirty Nekoshou, and stopped her with a simple look. "Lets rest for the time being, Kuroka. Besides, Zante and I are having intercourse tonight."
Kuroka sighs, and plops down on the couch, while the others let out playful giggles.
After parting from the peerage, Zante went to go and check on Asia, to make sure she was okay.
When Zante, and Asia came face to face, Asia gasped when seeing Zante's wounds.
"Z-Zante-san, what happened?"
"Ooh, I fought a God-"
"G-God?" Asia looked to the heavens as if she could see through the ceiling.
Zante looked amused. "One day maybe~" Asia rapidly blinked, Zante chuckled a little. "Kidding aside, it wasn't that God. It was a Goddess called Nyx. She came to try and do a few things, but I fought her off."
Asia looked highly impressed as she bent down.
She got onto her knees, Zante gave her weird eyes when seeing her position, looking rather suggestive. "Erm, what are you doing Asia-san?"
"I'm going to heal you~"
Zante let out a breath, that made all the sense in the world to him.
Her soothing hand went out, and placed itself near the wounds Zante had.
Silver rings decorated her fingers, as she used her green healing power.
The soothing energy washed over his entire being, like a good gentle light.
It felt so good, he could feel the little pain he felt vanishing out of sight, out of mind.
"How is it? Does it feel good?" Asia asked with an innocent smile.
Zante couldn't deny that her power did make him feel good inside of his chest, and looked into her eyes. "Yeah, it feels really good, Asia-san. Your gift is really beautiful."
Asia looked at her rings, and her face notably decreased. "Is it really a gift Zante-san? Even though I healed a Devil?"
"Your power was designed to be like that. To heal all, that's an amazing gift. I know there's another one that only heals those related to the church and all that. But yours is able to heal all beings, I think that's a beautiful kind of power."
Asia felt her face turn slightly flush at his words.
She couldn't deny it felt good that she was told her power wasn't a curse, or evil or anything like that.
"Zante-san, why did this Goddess try to harm you?"
"I couldn't say, I'm sure she's got a few reasons for doing what she's doing. She might have a thing for me, or she's messing with me, really hard to tell with her."
As he said it, she finished healing his body.
He felt brand new, her power was amazing in his eyes.
"When you used your Sacred Gear, I noticed that you looked at it sadly. Are you thinking about the Devil that you healed? Or the church?"
"Both." Asia murmured. "I don't regret it, healing that Devil."
Zante smiled softly. "Yeah?"
"Even though I was dismissed from the church, someone needed me in that moment, and I wanted to heal them. It didn't even occur to me that he was a Devil at the time, I just didn't want to see anyone in pain."
Zante gives a cool smile, glad to hear what she was saying. "You are as kind as I have heard, holy maiden."
"I'm not the holy maiden anymore." Asia swiftly moves side to side as if she was wriggling around.
"Even if you're not, you still brought a lot of kindness to many peoples lives. I've heard of you, when I was in the Underworld. I've run into church goers before in my life, and I recall hearing your name, and you being the reason they were alive."
Asia's eyes begin to become teary. "Really Zante-san?"
Zante nods and spoke his truth. "Yes, that's right. You've been given a bad hand. You did your best, and in the end was turned away. But it doesn't invalidate everything you've done until this point, you know?"
Asia blinked, fluttering her eyelashes. "You think so, Zante-san?"
"Yeah, I do." Zante said encouragingly. "Those people you healed, regardless of what they'll say now, owe their lives to you. You brought salvation to a lot of lives, even gaining the attention from the likes of Gabriel-sama."
Asia did like the idea that all her hard work was seen positively by the Angels, especially the likes of Gabriel.
Zante leans closer, as Asia shows her tender smile. "I know that this has been quite the ordeal for you. All I can say right now though for certainty is that, while you're here, I'll do my very best to make sure you're safe, and to help you in anyway that you want."
Asia could see the tenderness in his eyes, and the kindness laced within his words tickled her ears.
She was beginning to see why Gabriel was as fond as Zante as she appeared to be.
"Thank you, Zante-san. I, don't even know what to do right now. I was supposed to be meeting up with someone called Raynare-san…"
"She was a Fallen Angel, she was…she was going to use your power." Zante said the bitter truth.
Asia's face became crestfallen. "I see…Raynare-san, really was…what's happened to Raynare-san?"
"She's been taken back to her leader, along with her other co-conspirators."
Asia nods slowly, digesting all of the information that she could do. "So she is gone now then?"
"She is, you don't have to worry about her."
Asia was glad to hear it.
She thought maybe because she didn't have anyone at the time to depend on, Raynare might be a good choice. But it seemed like she was going to be harmed by the Fallen Angels, which did make her feel sad.
But, now she was with the Devils, and she thought on what she was going to do with her life now.
"Zante-san, what is it that I can do now?"
Zante hummed. "You can do anything you like Asia-san."
"Like what?" Asia inquired.
"You're not in the church anymore." Zante said with regret, knowing Asia loved the church. He perched on her bed, Asia sitting close by. "To tell the truth, I can't say what you should do now, only you know what it is that you can do now."
Asia tilts her head side to side in a cute manner. "So, I could do anything?"
"I'll make sure of it, that you can. If you wanna go somewhere, or if you have any dreams you wanna fulfil, then I'll try my best to make that a reality for you."
Asia was taken aback by such a declaration. "Why would you do that for me?"
"Because I know what its like to be abandoned by all those around you, my families...lets say, not the most friendly of lot, apart from my siblings, and even then, one was for a good while being manipulated by my father. While I wasn't ever banished myself, I saw my Onii-sama basically being banished, and seeing his rough life. I was a child back then, and couldn't do as much as I would have wanted for him. And to see someone so kind such as yourself being targeted, and attempted to be used, does make me feel like wanting to protect you."
Asia felt a twinge of warmth radiating from her chest, and spreading through her entire body.
Her face glowed a little red at the very thought of someone wanting to be there for her now.
"…I do have some dreams, do you mind if I share them?"
"I'd be honoured to hear them." Zante smiled out.
Asia gained a healthy glow to her face, beginning to list off a few things she had thought about. "I'd love to go to a book store."
Zante blinked. "A book store huh? Sure, we could do that."
Asia gasped happily. "I'd also love to go flower picking, I saw others where I live doing it, and it always looked so nice."
"Yeah, lets go and pick some nice flowers. I know a place in the world where the most beautiful flowers grow, I'll take you if you like?"
Asia felt her head whizzing with so many happy thoughts. "Y-Yes, I'd love to go!"
"Anything else?"
"Ooh, I have a good few…"
Zante chuckled, snapping his fingers, and summoned a pen and paper. "How about, you write them all down, and I'll do my best to fulfil them all. In the meantime, think of my home as your own."
"A-Are you sure? I wouldn't want to be a burden." Asia expressed her thoughts.
Zante relieved her of her worries. "I promise, its no burden. Until you wanna decide what you wanna do, you can have this room." Zante snapped his fingers. "Right, clothes. I'll get some clothes for tomorrow, there's also a bathroom adjacent to this bedroom, fitted with a nice bath and everything you'd need."
Asia felt like she was being pampered and didn't deserve it.
But she was so happy at the same time, she couldn't deny that. "You've done so much for me already. Are you really sure?"
"I am~" Zante laughed jovially, patting her head, Asia's face becoming a little redder. "Are you hungry? Its my turn to cook tonight, so I could cook you a good meal too, if you like?"
Asia couldn't hide her happiness right now.
She truly never thought she'd be in a situation like this ever in her life. "What are you going to make?"
"Hmm, that's a good question. Why don't you come with me, and we can explore the fridge together?"
Asia more than loved that idea, so she stood up with Zante, and together, went to the kitchen to decide what to have for a meal, while happily chatting away. Asia feeling more and more comfortable as the moments passed on by.
A little while later on, Zante went to go and see Ingvild, knowing of the history with Nyx, and how Ingvild felt about her.
When getting to her room, Zante's hand knocked on the door.
Moments later, the door opened, and Ingvild revealed her kind smile, rubbing under her eyes. "Zante-kun, you're here~"
"Sorry, were you asleep?" Zante asked.
Ingvild shrugged. "Sort of, but its okay. Please, come inside."
Zante did just that and walked inside of her room. He moved to the bed, and sat down on the bedspread. His hand reached out when Ingvild sat next to him, entangling their fingers together, and gently runs her fingers up and down her digits.
"I wanted to check in to see if you're okay. I know Nyx stirs some feelings within you."
"When she tried to kidnap me and use me as a weapon you mean?" Ingvild laughed as if it was some bad joke.
Reality felt harsh in Zante's eyes, knowing that Nyx had caused his Bishop some worries, and did his best to take the worries away. "She wont get to you while I'm around, Ingvild-chan. Even if I have to use all of my powers against her."
Ingvild felt her body being relieved a little more. "Thank you Zante-kun. Though, I was worried about you. When I sensed her. I didn't want anything to happen to you, Zante-kun. But you fought her off, right?"
Zante nods his head. "Yeah, I managed to hold her off. Guess we've gotten stronger since that time."
Ingvild revealed her pretty smile that was enchanting to Zante's eyes. "Yes, we all have gotten stronger. Though, I do worry about what it is that she could want now."
"Well, she seemed pretty adamant on fighting me, and seeing my true strength, and she mentioned you and Vali-chan. Beyond that, it makes me wonder what else she's got up her sleeve."
Zante's words caused Ingvild to think more about the Goddess of the night, what she was doing, why she was doing what she was doing, and how she felt about it all.
Zante squeezed his fingers against hers for a small moment, giving her a nice feeling that spread throughout her chest. "She might be a Goddess, but she isn't indestructible. I've been preparing for the day she returns, and I know with us together, we can be a force that can even worry a Goddess, why else would she separate me from everyone else? She even mentioned about taking me to get to the others, we just have to be careful."
Ingvild felt love radiating through her heart.
She climbs onto Zante's lap, her arms wrapping around his neck, and lovingly nuzzling against his face.
Her expression was one of sweetness and sensuality at the same time.
He couldn't deny that Ingvild was a very beautiful woman and she always was able to make him feel happy whenever they were together.
Ingvild allowed her lips to encompass Zante's own, in a fiery passionate display of their love.
Coming together over and over, Zante and Ingvild kissed deeply, Zante's tongue going into her mouth, and deepened the kiss. Ingvild happily accepted it, and used her own tongue to play with Zante's.
When they pulled apart mutually, Ingvild laid her head on his shoulder, snuggling against his body. "Zante-kun, I'd love to sing to you, I'm working on a new song."
Zante's lips curl up. "I'd love to hear any new song you've been working on. What's it about?"
"Its about this situation right now." Ingvild told him happily. "Though, I haven't finished it yet, since we haven't finished. I suppose it finishes when we find out what's going to happen with Asia-san and Isane-san."
Zante looked curiously towards the young woman.
The fact she was in the middle of writing a piece of music about them, was truly outstandingly sweet, he thought.
Then his smile grew on his face. "I see, I can't wait to hear your latest piece, you always write such lovely music, and sing it beautifully too."
Ingvild's eyes shined like diamonds. "Yes! You'll be the first to hear it Zante-kun!"
Zante lightly runs his fingers through strands of her hair, a warm positive expression on his handsome features.
Ingvild felt a warmth spread through her chest, and circulate her heart.
Staring at her King, Ingvild knew that even if Nyx did appear, or whoever else, even if all of the Gods of the world appeared, she was sure that her King would be right there, and would defend her no matter what, even at the cost of his life.
So she was determined to do the same thing, and fight as hard as she could and be strong beside her King.
Meanwhile, Nyx was dissatisfied.
The fact she was drawn back from her fight didn't make her feel pleased at all.
In fact, it caused her to grow angrier and angrier, staring at the ally that was assisting her.
"Did you have to get in the way?" Nyx said it bitterly as if she had eaten a bug.
"If you had gone through with your plan, then we would have been at a disadvantage. If we are to gain the Longinus's, and use them for ourselves, we have to be careful though, and prepare wonderful attacks as we plan to achieve victory, Zante Bael surpassed the data we had on him, he was even able to wound you Nyx."
Nyx raises a curious brow. "He's grown stronger since we last met. His armour's exquisite, and his magic increased his abilities a good deal, seems like he's skilled in using such spells to enhance his already strong physicality. I was happily surprised, I almost succumbed to the temptation that was his delightful body~"
The ally of Nyx blinked rapidly. "In a fighting sense, right?"
"In the sense that he's pretty handsome, powerful, and has a nice body~" Nyx corrected.
The ally of Nyx nods slowly, wondering what else Nyx was thinking. "Either way, I've been working on the plan to get those Longinus's for ourselves."
Nyx furrows her brows. "While on the subject, I hope the next plan works, and ask that you do not interfere when I am having the time of my life with my beloved Devil-kun. Next time, I wanna be ready and get in there without them noticing again. I hate it, but we have to work with others to achieve things. Even Goddesses can have problems like this, but we have to be calm and be prepared."
The being Nyx spoke to showed a devious smirk. "Of course, we have cards to play, and people who owe us, and allies that even they wont see coming, we've made sure of it. Don't worry, we will be able to get our objective, and I have an idea on how..." The being skipped forward, gleefully showing a sadistic smile. "As I have found out a few things from some reliable sources, one is that a very interesting power is within Kuoh, and they're not strong enough to fight like the others."
Nyx grinned. "My, you have been busy. This power, what is it exactly?"
A small snickering came from the being. "Just a power that can truly help us come over the edge in many fights, and that lowly human wont even see it coming. As we speak, I have begun making moves, and we shall be able to finally claim our rightful positions. No longer restrained, we shall now have our time. Next time we execute our plan, we are going to be achieving victory."
Nyx showed a devilish smirk at her partners words.
Whatever plans they had, Nyx was gleefully happy, as she couldn't wait to spend time with her favourite Devil once again, her sights set onto Zante.

This chapter had Zante vs Nyx for a time, but it seems someone is working with Nyx and have begun making plans against Zante and the others, their eyes set on Vali and Ingvild. Who that could be, shall be revealed soon. Zante spent a little time with Asia, and is helping her adjust a little more, and finally Zante and Ingvild shared a small moment between them.
