Author Notes: I want to go ahead and thank everyone for their reviews thus far. I do understand that profanity might be a little unsettling to some, I had it in mind that even though Ash is in his 10-year-old body, he's still mentally 18 years old at this point so it made sense that he'd have some habit of letting out some profanity.
However, I will dial it down a bit but there will still be some profanity then and there. It should be incredibly minor from now on out unless stated otherwise. With that, enjoy Chapter 5!

As Ash and Pikachu continued to attempt to find Misty, they were blissfully unaware of the irritated Spearow calling for backup.
"Anything yet, Pikachu?" The raven-haired boy asked as he walked behind his electric starter, looking around as he placed his hands behind his head. "This is just really unusually quiet." He muttered quietly.
The electric mouse looked over at his trainer, now noticing that it was unusually quiet. "You're right, Ash. It's too quiet for my taste, and I know by now in the past timeline - we were being chased by the Spearows all because you threw a stupid rock." He sniggered at the thought.
"I'm trying not to repeat history!" Ash exclaimed, sweatdropping at the memory. "Even though I have you, Pidgey, and Riolu… these Spearows are something else, and I'd rather not start off a bad start for Misty."
"Knowing you, I'm sure you'd find a way to repeat history even unintentionally." Pikachu teased with a grin as he continued to smell the ground. "It's gonna storm soon, you know?" He looked up at the darkening cloud as he hummed to himself. "Maybe it'd be good to get charged just in case."
"I don't think we will need it this time." The Pallet Town native muttered with a nervous grin. "As long we're not being chased by the Spea–" He then paled as he heard something before whispering quietly. "Are you hearing what I'm hearing?"
Pikachu's ears flickered in response to Ash's question as he glanced backwards, his face paled as he saw the horde of angry Spearows. "I think we pissed off the Spearows…" He muttered quietly in response.
"Shit!" Ash cursed as he picked up a surprised Pikachu, deciding to run for his life before the Spearows started to catch up with him. "Let's find a nearby river, and maybe we can get to Misty this way!" He gasped out in between breaths as he continued to run.
"Aye, aye! Do you want me to shoot off thundershock to keep them away?" Pikachu asked as he looked up towards his trainer. He was glad that he did not have to run alongside his trainer this time.
"If they get closer, sure!" Ash muttered quietly as he glanced back towards the Spearows nervously. "I don't understand what the hell I did with them this time!"
"Are you sure you didn't accidentally throw rocks at them?" His electric mouse asked half-teasingly.
"Not helping!" The Pallet Town native cried out as he saw the Spearows slowly getting closer. "Pikachu, turn around on my shoulder and start fi—" He began before he saw the white light flash out before noticing that Pidgey had let herself out of the Pokeball as he began to panic for her safety. "Pidgey, please return! This is not safe!"
"No need, Ketchum!" The avian bird exclaimed before rapidly flapping her wings to make powerful gusts towards the angry Spearows. "I got this!" She called out before sending the angry Spearows flying back and smacking against the trees by one and one - effectively knocking them out.
"Whoa!" The electric mouse exclaimed as Ash stopped running to watch Pidgey wipe out the Spearows one by one, both Ash and Pikachu seemingly shocked by the turns of the events. "That's some powerful gusts!" He exclaimed.
The raven haired boy was speechless, blinking in shock as he watched what happened. Did his Pidgey wipe out the entire hoard of Spearows in one go? There was silence as the avian bird landed onto the ground gracefully as the gusts died down.
"Alright, Ketchum." Pidgey spoke, taking a deep breath. "They should be out for a bit, which should give us a chance to get away." She explained, panting out slightly as she had used all of the strength that she could as a Pidgey to deal with the Spearows.
"T..Thanks…" The stunned Pallet Town native blinked, still in shock of what had just taken place. "I..I had no idea that you had it into you."
"Oh Ash." The bird Pokemon smirked in response. "Did you forget that I've spent years fighting off Fearow and his hoards of Spearows?" She giggled in response. "Naturally, I know how to send them flying back at this point."
"Uhuh, right.. Remind me to never mess with you." Ash muttered as Pikachu nodded along in response.
"WHAT'S THE IDEA BEHIND THIS?!" a voice hollered out, causing the raven haired boy and his electric mouse to jump. "WHY DID YOUR PIDGEY BLOW MY BIKE UP AGAINST THE TREE?!"
Ash and Pikachu looked at each other, letting out a long sigh. They had an idea of whose bike that Pidgey blew away into some trees, a very clear idea indeed.
"Oops, looks like you're on your own." Pidgey giggled, watching as the angry red-haired girl stomped over to her trainer and his electric starter.
"So much for getting on her good side the second time around…" The raven haired boy muttered to himself, letting out a deep sigh before straightening himself up as he faced the angry girl. "Look, I am really sorry." He held up his hands. "Pidgey was trying to protect us from the Spearows that were attacking us."
"THEN DON'T PISS OFF THE SPEAROWS IN THE FIRST PLACE!" The red-haired girl hollered into Ash's face, causing the raven haired boy to sweatdrop in response.
"Look, look. What about we battle this out? If you win, I will go up there personally and get the bike out of the tree." Ash stammered as he held his hands up in defense.
The angry girl stopped for a moment to think about it, she then smirked. "Fine, prepare to lose! I'd like to see you to get my bike down the tree."
"Great." The raven haired trainer sighed before looking over at Pidgey. "Come on, let's battle."
The avian bird blinked in response, wondering why Ash jumped to a battle all of the sudden. She looked down at Pikachu as she raised her eyebrow.
"He's asking her to battle so we can remind her. We can remind trainers through Pokemon battles." The electric mouse explained, which Pidgey nodded at this.
Soon enough Ash and the red-haired girl were standing in the battlefield, the raven-haired boy being on the right side of the battlefield and the girl being on the left side. The girl had dragged some poor trainer from Route 1 to referee the battle, much to Ash and Pikachu's partial amusement.
"U..Uh, right." The trainer muttered nervously, glancing between Ash and the girl before continuing. "The battle between Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town and Misty Waterflower of Cerulean City will occur. Each trainer is allowed to have one Pokemon on each side with no substitutes allowed. Do both trainers agree to this?"
"Yeah, let's get it over with so I can watch this jerk to get my bike!" Misty hollered in annoyance as she rolled the Pokeball in her hand.
"I agree with the rules as well." Ash clarified, sweatdropping at the red-haired girl's behavior. Was that just him or was Misty's temper worse this time around? He was not sure.
"Great! Misty, you may go on first!" The random trainer hollered out, hoping to get the battle over with soon so he could get back to whatever it was that he was doing.
"Misty calls Staryu!" The red-haired girl called out as she threw her Pokeball, which a brown star Pokemon came out and landed onto the battlefield. The said star Pokemon's light blinked in response to its trainer command.
"Let's do this, Pidgey! I know you can do it, girl!" The raven-haired boy called out as he pointed towards the battlefield, which the avian bird flew to her stance and gave out a cry in response to her trainer.
"And go!" The nervous trainer called out, nodding at Ash and Misty to begin as Pikachu and Riolu were watching on the sidelines.
"What did Ketchum do this time?" The blue canine Pokemon muttered as he sat next to the electric mouse. "I don't think I've seen someone that angry."
"Pidgey blew her bike into the tree, and Misty is apparently pretty upset about it." Pikachu muttered, shaking his head. "At least I didn't fry it this time." He sighed.
"Ouch." Riolu shook his head, letting out a soft sigh. "Feels like our trainer just has a magnet for pure bad luck, huh?"
"Agreed." The electric mouse nodded as the two Pokemon watched the battle to happen. This wasn't how he expected for their second first day of Ash's Pokemon journey to go.
"Pidgey, start out with Sand Attack!" The raven-haired trainer called out, which Pidgey nodded and began to flap her wings to create a dust of sand in order to block Misty and Staryu's view.
"Not so fast!" Misty called out. "Misty commands Staryu to use Swift to try to hit that bird!" She growled as Staryu began to levitate and spin, spitting out the shooting stars in the process.
"Use Agility to evade the stars!" Ash commanded the avian bird, which Pidgey nodded and began to speed herself up as she flew around the battlefield in order to avoid the Swift attack. "Now, use Wing Attack!" He called out.
"On it, Ketchum!" Pidgey called out as she flew straight into the dust towards the Staryu, preparing to hit the star Pokemon with her wing.
"I'm not letting you hit Staryu!" Misty growled as she clenched her fist from anger. "Use a water gun when you see that bird!"
Ash grimaced as he watched Staryu to stop spinning as it fired the water gun, hitting the avian bird. However, this did not seem to faze Pidgey one bit as she continued flying straight towards Staryu.
"Take this!" Pidgey called out as she slammed her wing against a shocked Staryu, throwing the star Pokemon into the tree and effectively knocking it out.
After a moment of silence if a simmering Misty didn't count towards the noise, the nervous random trainer took a deep breath before exclaiming.
"Staryu has been knocked out, this means that the victory goes to Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town!"
"Great job, Pidgey!" Ash called out grinning as his Pidgey flew towards him before landing onto his shoulder. "You're already strong as a Pidgey."
"Well, I did tell you that I'm close to evolving into a Pidgeotto." The avian bird smirked as she chuckled. "I don't mind showing some manners to Misty." She then looked towards Misty who had apparently stopped growling and seemed to be in a state of shock. "Is she okay?"
"Yeah, I think so." The raven haired boy mumbled, glancing towards the red-haired girl as he stroked Pidgey's head gently. He was soon approached by the random trainer, who walked up to him.
"Uhhh… so can I just get back to shiny hunting Rattata, please?" The trainer mumbled as he scratched the back of his head, looking towards Ash.
"Yeah, you're all good. I got Misty from here on out, so don't worry about it." Ash grinned. "Sorry that you had to be dragged into our mess."
"It's okay!" The random trainer mumbled before running off, taking a chance to get back into his shiny hunting before Misty had an idea to drag him into something else.
Ash took a deep breath as Pikachu and Riolu walked up towards the raven-haired boy. He then glanced towards Misty as he rubbed his arm slightly.
"Do you think I should try talking with her now?" The raven haired trainer mumbled towards his electric starter, looking down towards Pikachu.
"Yeah, I think it'd be good to start talking. I feel like she's overwhelmed." Riolu cut in, deciding that he'd respond rather than Pikachu. "She looks like she's in a state of shock, so it might help if you clarify the situation to her."
"I agree with Riolu." Pikachu nodded, looking over at Misty with worry on his face. "She has been too quiet in the past 5 minutes ever since we defeated her."
"Right…" Ash mumbled quietly, shifting his free shoulder for his electric starter to climb up on which Pikachu happily obliged. He then walked over to Misty with Riolu next to him before giving a small smile. "Misty? You okay?"
"What…" Misty mumbled to herself as she stared down onto the ground. At that point, Staryu had recovered from being thrown against the tree and was currently at its trainer's side. "What…" She mumbled once more.
"Misty?" Ash pressed on with worry, placing his hand onto Misty's shoulder carefully. "You okay there?" He asked once again before letting out a soft sigh. "Pikachu let's tr—"
"MISTY KICK!" The red-haired girl shouted all of the sudden, kicking Ash in the face causing a cry of pain from the raven-haired boy as he fell while Pikachu and Pidgey both jumped off of his shoulder to avoid being hit by a Misty Kick. She panted out as she glared at Ash angrily.
"Owww, that hurts!" Ash complained, rubbing his face as he grumbled about being kicked in the face.
"WHAT THE HELL DID YOU JUST DO THAT WARRANTED US TO BE BACK INTO THE PAST?!" Misty shouted, causing the Pallet Town native to quiet down and stare in shock. "LAST TIME, I REMEMBER FIGHTING THOSE CREEPY WEIRD LOOKING BUGS! THEY WERE TAKING DOWN MY POKEMON ONE BY ONE, AND I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO DIE!" She panted out in between her shouting before continuing. "AS I WAS GONNA DIE, PSYDUCK SURPRISED ME BY EVOLVING INTO GOLDUCK AND USING WATER PULSE ON THE CREEPY BUGS! AND THEN EVERYTHING JUST WENT BLACK, NOW I'M HERE AGAIN AND YOU'VE DESTROYED MY BIKE ONCE AGAIN, KETCHUM!"
Pikachu, Pidgey and Riolu just sweatdropped at Misty's outburst as they covered their ears so they wouldn't go tone deaf from all of the unnecessary yelling.
"L…Look, Misty. I can explain." The raven-haired boy held up his hands as he processed all of the shouting that Misty was doing towards him. "Y..You see, wait… Psyduck evolved?" His eyes widened as he processed the fact that Misty's Psyduck had finally evolved.
"Hmpf!" The red-haired girl huffed, crossing her arms. "You're going to explain, and your first words were to ask whether my Psyduck evolved or not?! He sure damn did! He saw that I was in danger and saved my ass!" She then pointed at Ash, glaring angrily. "I want an explanation and NOW!"
"R..Right.." Ash muttered to himself as he took a deep breath. "The Pokemon that you were battling were not your usual bug Pokemon. They are the Paradox Pokemon from the Paldea region that was taken over by someone evil." He watched Misty's reactions before continuing. "Celebi, Dialga, and Palkia sent me and Pikachu back into the past to figure out who was the person behind all of this, and put a stop to this."
"Great! There are more bug Pokemon that I need to worry about!" Misty groaned loudly, clearly not happy about it.
"I mean, to be fair, Pikachu and I were dealing with the robotic-looking Spearows and Garchomp." The raven-haired boy continued. "Pikachu managed to defeat the Spearows, but the Garchomp was too much for him. It nearly killed Pikachu and I."
Misty sighed, rubbing her forehead as she nodded. "So, we're at the point that you would have met me." She muttered to herself before her eyes widened. "Does this mean that we're about to be chased by the Spearows again?"
"We would be." Ash laughed softly as he sweatdropped. "But they're still out cold because Pidgey, or well, Pidgeot, you know her, has already handled them." He explained as he pointed over at the avian bird who waved her wing towards Misty.
"Wait, you already got Pidgeot?" The red-haired girl blinked, looking towards Pidgey then at Ash. "I thought you didn't catch her until we were at the Viridian Forest."
"The first time around, yes. She was a Pidgeotto then." The raven-haired boy clarified. "Turns out the Pidgey that I was trying to capture on Route 1 happened to be my Pidgeot that escaped from me."
"This is going to take a while to get used to this." Misty mumbled, letting out a long sigh before looking over at Ash. "I'd love to travel with you again though. I'd appreciate it if you could help me to get my bicycle down from the tree first though since you only blew it up there this time."
"Pidgey, would you mind getting the bi–" Ash started before the clouds rumbled and the lightning struck through the tree, frying Misty's bike before hitting Pikachu who gave out a surprised cry. "Pikachu!" He cried out as he ran over to his starter.
"My bike…" Misty whined as she saw the state of her bicycle - fried again, even if Pikachu didn't fry it this time.
"Oww, that hurts." Pikachu mumbled, rubbing his cheeks as he recovered from being hit by a stray lightning. He then looked over to see his concerned trainer to run towards him.
"Pikachu! Are you okay, buddy?!" The raven-haired boy exclaimed as he looked over his electric starter for any obvious injuries, completely forgetting about Misty's now fried bike.
"I'm alright, Ash." The electric mouse chuckled. "Just hurt like crap for a bit, but I'll be ok. I'll just be extra charged for a while." He admitted as his cheeks sparked with electricity from the lighting. Pikachu then glanced over at Misty's bike. "I don't think Misty's bike can be saved though.."
Ash glanced over at Misty and noticed that she was holding up her fried bicycle as the red-haired girl seemed to mourn the loss of her bicycle. He sweatdropped at this. "Yeah, looks like it's done for…" He mumbled quietly, feeling bad for his friend.
