Kai POV: There wasn't any time to waste, but I had to get closer in order to get the drop on them. Fortunately for me, the guards were all looking in the same direction, and the others had their backs to them. Making the middle the perfect drop point. Though I was a little worried about the railing since they looked unstable. But I'll have to worry about it later. I jumped up quietly and quickly made my way to them. They were shaky, but they held my weight.
Once I was close enough, I jumped down and kicked the closet one hard. He went flying, and the others turned to me. They were shocked, and I used that and landed a hit to the stomach on another. He went down immediately, but the shock wore off. They came at me all at once, and I had to back up in order to dodge.
The ones working on the drill tried to quicken their pace, as if they were trying to finish faster. But I wasn't going to let them do that. So when one of them came at me I grabbed his wrist, and threw him into one of his friends. They both got knocked over, but they were still awake. The guy who I assumed was in charge came at me and I blocked in time.
"Give up. We will get those projects." he snapped in my face, as his subordinates surrounded us.
"I don't think so." I responded.
Without letting him say another word, I forced both of our arms down, giving myself leverage, and threw him into the nearest bad guy. That sent them both flying and I focused on the guys in front of me. The last guy seemed nervous, but four of the six left working on the drill joined the fight.
"Now what are you going to do? You're outnumbered, ninja." One said, as if they were mocking me.
"I think I'll keep doing what I'm doing." I answered, and went at him fast.
He was caught off guard, and he didn't react in time to block the kick to the stomach. He got knocked back and fell to the floor. That's what he gets for the bad mocking job. But the others didn't appreciate that. They came at me, again all at the same time. But I jumped away at the right time and they all nearly ran into each other. One guy noticed this and stopped earlier than the others. He launched himself at me, but I caught him before he could land a hit. And I pushed him right at the drill. Again, this took out one of the guys. But the other two that were standing back up also got knocked down again. This time for good, at least I think so.
I smirked at that, but the last guys standing really didn't like that. One of them yelled, "Quite smiling and fight!"
Then, like an idiot, he charged at me. I was prepared, but then something landed right on him. Which surprised the both of us, and knocked him out instantly. It was Lloyd who did that.
"Having fun without us?" he said, smirking at me.
I rolled my eyes and responded, "At least I wasn't late."
He rolled his eyes back at me and Zane also dropped in. He was going to say something, but the last guy charged at us. Zane immediately reacted and blocked him and pushed him back. He didn't go down, but he was caught off guard by Lloyd getting him at the side. I let them deal with that guy and went to the drill.
The only guy left working on it was trying really hard to finish, but he wasn't paying attention. Making it easy for me and I pulled him off. He was surprised and tried to fight me, but unlike the others he was far from trained. I easily blocked his punch and knocked him out.
However, once I did I heard a noise coming from the drill. Like it was scraping against something. I looked up and saw that it was starting to fall. And it was going to take a part of the roof and Lloyd and Zane. And it was starting to fall faster.
I threw the guy clear and ran to them. I yelled, "Move!"
They looked confused at me, but I didn't waste any time and pushed them both out of the way. Next I heard an extremely loud scraping noise and crash. Then a lot of pain followed by darkness…

Lloyd POV: It wasn't until Kai pushed me did I piece it together, and it was not a fun experience having a drill dropped on you. But thanks to Kai, Zane and I were clear of it. Even though the shock wave did send me into the wall. I was on the ground and groaned as I tried to get up. I could feel that a few of my ribs were broken, but I don't think anything else was. So that was good at least. I coughed from all the dust and managed to get to my knees.
There was a lot of damage, but the roof hadn't collapsed. Meaning the Tower was still fine and it shouldn't be too hard to restabilize the place. Even though Borg may have to shut down until this was fixed. Zane was next to me and was readjusting his arm, but he looked fine. But where was…
I glanced in front of me and felt my heart drop. Kai didn't get out of the way. He was lying face down under a piece of railing and other debris that collapsed on him. And there was a small pool of blood from his torso that was forming. The drill was close to him and if it landed on him…
I ran over to him and checked him over. The drill part was close, but fortunately he was clear from it. The pool of blood was from a pole that got his side, but again he was clear from getting impaled. I couldn't see all of his legs, but I could tell that at least one of them was broken. He had a cut on his head that was bleeding and he was out cold, but he was breathing. Weakly, but he was still breathing.
"Kai? Wake up, I need you to wake up." I said, coughing a little from the dust.
I was about to shake him, but Zane, who finally came over, stopped me.
"Don't. He could have internal injuries. Let me scan him." He said, and I nodded.
He started his scan while I checked his pulse. It was weak, but it didn't seem like it was getting weaker as time went on. That had to be a good sign.
Zane finished his scan and said, "The good news is that he doesn't have any internal bleeding or injuries. However, I can't completely check him over until we get him out of here."
"Got it." I said, and stood up. I flinched a little from my ribs, but I ignored it and moved to the railing.
Zane followed suit and we tried to lift it, but it wasn't working. It was way too heavy and it was making my ribs hurt even more. We tried until they flared too much and I had to stop.
I sat down and groaned as Zane kneeled down next to me. "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine. It's just my ribs, but Kai's the priority here." I said, but he wasn't going to listen to me.
"Rest, I'll get Kai out." he said.
"How? There's no way you can lift that by yourself." I protested. But by the looks of it, he already knows that.
However, as if they were waiting for us, I heard Nya yell out, "Guys! You down there?!"
"Yeah! And we need help!" I yelled back, but winced because of my ribs that just had to break.
She, Jay, and Cole ran down through the door that was, fortunately, not blocked and saw the scene.
"You guys just love making messes." Jay joked, but I wasn't in the mood.
"Cole, you have to help Zane with the railing." I said, which confused them all.
That was until Nya saw Kai in his current state and rushed over to him.
"What happened? This wasn't in the message that you guys left?" Jay asked, worried and confused.
"We'll explain later, but we have to get Kai out and to the Bounty." Zane said. No one liked it but the three of them nodded.
Cole walked over to the railing with Zane, while Jay joined Nya. Carefully, Cole and Zane lifted it. This time with more success, and Kai gasped from the pressure being lifted. Jay and Nya pulled him clear even though he groaned in pain. He was still unconscious and that didn't make anyone feel better.
"We need to get him back to the Bounty now." I said, standing up.
But that made my ribs flare again and I flinched. Jay noticed this and said, "We got him, but you need help too."
As much as I would love to argue with him right now, he was right. They were in a lot of pain and breathing was starting to hurt. So I nodded and he took my arm and put it over his shoulders. I think that was unnecessary, but I didn't like the idea of hitting my head from passing out so I didn't say anything. Cole and Zane slowly set the railing back down and Cole gently picked Kai up bridal style. He was going to hate that when he found out.
"Once we get back, I'll be able to get a more complete scan of his injuries." Zane explained to all of us, but I think he was talking more to Nya than anyone else. We all nodded and slowly, and painfully, made our way back up.
This had been a long day and it wasn't even seven yet.
