DenAme: Cold and Hot

America stormed into the meeting room, lacking his usual energy. He looked for his seat and plopped himself down, though it was a bit difficult with the coat he was wearing. He had to wriggle himself into a comfortable position before he sighed.

Who was the person that had the brilliant idea of hosting the world meeting during winter in Norway?

"You okay, Alfie?" Denmark asked as he approached. "How many layers do you have on?"

"I have a thermal vest, a thermal shirt, three sweaters, a jacket and a coat," America muttered. "And it's still too damn cold!"

"…Really?"

America glared at Denmark, who was only wearing a shirt with the sleeves rolled up. America shivered and buried himself further in the coat. Denmark chuckled when he saw him.

"If you want, you can hang out at Norge's house with me after the meeting," Denmark said. "We can cuddle in front of the fireplace. That should warm you up."

"But it's not going to help me during the meeting," America whined. "Why couldn't we go to an African country or something? They have summer now, right?"

"Next month. So, does that mean you don't even want to have a snowball fight or something?"

"Not even if you pay me."

America caught sight of Russia, and he glared at the amused look that the other threw his way. He then turned his attention to the African nations. They were his allies in all of this.

"Would you like some hot cocoa before the meeting starts?" Denmark asked. "I might even slip in something for you that will heat you up."

"I'd like that," America said.

It's now winter in South Africa, and as one of the rare South Africans that have resistance to cold, I get a lot of people asking me whether I'm cold, while wearing a short-sleeved shirt and shorts. It's actually amusing to see me standing next to my mother, who is not like me. Last year was also the first time in a decade that I actually felt cold enough to wear a long-sleeved shirt. It snowed in my province, but skipped my town, which hasn't seen snow since 2001.

And I chose America because the anime shows that he does not handle cold well.
