"Up…"
The sound of a muffled groan echoed while a faint voice rang through the silent night.
"Wake….up…"
"AH!?"
With a hand clutching his heart, a young man in his mid to late teens woke up with sweat pouring down his face. He stood out, with dark skin and blank white hair with red highlights that were glistening with his sweat.
A gold crown fell from the jungles of his short hair and into his lap, causing the young man to widen his eyes. His amber eyes held confusion as he began to perceive his situation clearly.
"L-Drago?"
"You're finally awake, Ryuga. I am just as surprised as you are, old friend."
The Dragon Emperor that rules over the earth and the legendary blader representing the summer constellation, Ryuga, found himself in the middle of the woods.
Ryuga stood up and looked at his tattered appearance; his mind raced back to when he fought Rago, a God who wielded the infamous Bey, Nemesis.
"How…we should be…"
"Dead? Trust me, I agree with that sentiment, but it seems we were pulled here by an unknown force, or perhaps due to our strong desire to become stronger," L-Drago, the Bey that Ryuga treasured, spoke with a sage tone.
"Tch," Ryuga scowled, knowing that he certainly died. But why was he alive?
"We need to get a better lay of the land; I certainly feel that we're no longer in our own world."
"What're you talking about?" Ryuga looked at his wrist. His shining gold gauntlet basked in the moonlight, revealing L-Drago.
"Better yet, you're much more talkative," Ryuga pointed out with a hint of scrutiny.
"I seem to possess more authority in this world. Now we can speak anytime."
Ryuga raised his head, staring at the cloudless sky with a hint of restlessness and confusion. Was this a trick? A scheme by Rago to torment him? Or karma for all he's done?
No, doing one act of kindness doesn't allow you to live a second life. He should be in the Wrym Lands, where those of his people go when committing atrocities.
"I can smell water," Ryuga followed the rich mineral scent of water with a slow stride.
He was used to walking treacherous roads, but if what L-Drago stated is true, he was no longer in his home world. He always believed such tales to be false, but as a King, he needed to learn all he could for the betterment of his clan.
Ryuga found a sizable pond. His eyes darted from side to side with caution as he began to familiarize himself with the land after his 10-minute walk.
Ryuga dipped his hands in the water and splashed his face with it, letting the bubbling frustration and sweat rinse away.
He was no stranger to outdoor life; his clan didn't inhabit cities but mountain ranges and valleys. So he wasn't scared of a few annoying crickets sounds and wolf howls.
But he was afraid of being in this unknown world without any information. Did Beys exist? Did his clan, if they were still lingering in the shadows, exist? He needed to procure this to obtain a stable piece of mind.
"I believe finding the nearest residence will aid us in our situation," L-Drago chimed in, erasing the tense silence.
"Right, all we have to do is follow our instincts."
…
After another 20 minutes of nonstop talking, Ryuga finally made it out of the woods he woke up in. His eyes gazed over the beautiful city that was shining under the moon's pale glow. Flickering lights of buildings lit up the streets, and cars and trucks drove down the streets.
Ryuga's eyes immediately locked with the giant red bridge. It reminded him of the San Francisco Bridge, bringing in a sense of relief if he was in America.
Ryuga sucked in some air and steeled his nerves; he would have to gather information and find out where exactly he was!
…
Ryuga, having reached a riverbank, finally understood a little bit more.
He was in Japan!
The cars rode on the left, and with a peek, Ryuga found out the steering wheels were on the right side.
However, one thing was shockingly obvious about this world.
There was nothing affiliated with Beyblade!
There is no stadium, WBBA, or anything related to Beys.
This world.
This universe.
It was not his.
What should he do? He was practically stranded, with no hope of returning to his world. This begged the question…
Why him and L-Drago?
"Could this truly be for a second chance? But why?"
Ryuga clenched his fist in frustration. His tattered white coat bristled as his anger flared. He was normally composed, but this situation worsened the more he accepted it.
He could not return to his world.
He was given a second chance to restart from scratch, possibly to rebuild his clan and live this life without restraint.
This world undoubtedly knows nothing about him, the Dragon Emperor who rules the world!
He would have to find a suitable occupation, causing his thoughts to drift to L-Drago.
"L-Drago, you said you feel powerful?"
"Yes, even more so than in our original world. I believe I can truly manifest here."
Ryuga began to ponder his options before he saw a sign that signaled an arrow to the church, causing his brows to furrow.
"I think I know where we should first go."
"I didn't peg you to go to the house of the lord, especially after our supposed deaths…"
"Ha! You got jokes, friend."
Ryuga, for the first time since appearing here, gave his iconic grin, showing off sharp teeth, hinting at his dragon-like heritage.
Let's see what this world has in store for the Dragon Emperor and if anyone is ready for the chaos he'll bring.
AN: This was inspired by several stories, like Fate: Hammer Time, Heir To The Blacksmith, and Fate Grand Order: Slayer Chronicles.
Before we truly get into the thick of things. For a timestamp, it is currently 1993, a year before the 4th Grail War begins, meaning it's Fate/Zero I'm going through first.
Ryuga will definitely be joining the Grail War. I only plan to give Ryuga a Dragon Core, similar to Artoria and Melusine. The manga states he's Royalty, which is why I added bits about his Kingship.
Now, I would like to get this out of the way. Should I have Ryuga replace a Master, or have him just be an anomalous 8th Master? I've seen several stories do both, but I want some options before I get into that. Again, the war won't start until a few chapters are in.
And yes, Ryuga will still use L-Drago in action.
