Ryuga, for the past week, has dedicated himself to his training. He started off light, merely damaging the surroundings without a care for anything else but improving.
At that time, L-Drago's red glow seemed to settle, only flaring when Ryuga launched him with a bit of effort. Ryuga was a hard worker, barely noticing when his stomach grumbled for food or when his arms cried out for him to stop.
He didn't listen.
He needed to get stronger at any cost. His mind kept returning to Kirei, who rubbed Ryuga the wrong way. His hollow gaze bothered him; his mannerisms seemed forced as if he didn't know how to talk fluently.
But one thing was clear.
Kirei was a professional killer, something Ryuga was quite worried about. Death was a natural occurrence when he sat on the throne, overlooking his brothers and sisters. As a nomadic and secretive tribe, most of his brethren couldn't make the journeys from one place to another.
And war was quite a rampant thing during his time. Beyblades were used for more than mere entertainment; it was used for assassinations, wars, and even rearranging the landscape, terraforming it to the wielder's grand vision.
Beyblades don't exist in this world, meaning weapons like guns and other armaments were the primary tools. Something Ryuga was afraid of.
Sure, he could probably ward off others with his glare, but if he meets an equally stubborn or emotionless individual with a gun.
What can he do?
The only option now was to grow strong enough that no one would dare to oppose him. The Dragon Emperor would not die by the shells of a bullet or anything else. He'll die on his terms this time.
He was given a second chance. There's no way it'll go to waste!
"You seem worried, Ryuga."
"Honestly, I am," Ryuga answered bitterly, taking a seat on a fallen tree log.
"What could you be worried about? We went out in a blaze of glory when we faced death."
"You're right, but I believe this world is much more menacing. Yes, Rago was a god possibly capable of destroying everything on Earth, but Kirei is empty, while Rago at least had raw emotions."
"Indeed, I couldn't feed on anything from him because he seems to lack emotions. Even the tiniest amounts of negativity can be scouted, but he's different. Your worries are warranted."
Ryuga frowned; his hair was matted like dog fur due to the sweat from training. His thoughts about Kirei and the potential dangers bothered him.
A man like Kirei, though not a god, was still someone to keep caution around.
Gurgle…
"Damn," Ryuga cursed as he heard his stomach grumble. He ignored it, taking it as a sign to train how far he could go without eating.
Ryuga didn't have many options. He came to like the resident wildlife around here, although a particular creature seemed to come by and watch as he trained.
Ryuga stood up and stretched before his amber eyes locked on a peculiar canid approaching him, causing him to furrow a brow.
It was a rare fox, slightly bigger than the norm but not on par with wolves. It seemed to have some pigment mutation as its fluffy coat was a lilac pink, with the tip of its tail being white. Its eyes were an opalescent amber, similar to Ryuga's.
In its mouth was a rabbit; nothing too special about it.
It dropped the rabbit and pushed it forward, getting Ryuga to ponder why it gave him the rabbit.
"Hmph, I thought you would just skulk behind the logs and spy on me, but it seems you're not like the rest," Ryuga commented on the behavior he saw from this pink fox.
"Though, I should be grateful for your kindness. Half and half?"
The fox cutely tilted its head. A glint in its amber eyes told Ryuga there was more to this creature than meets the eye.
But he couldn't bother to care.
It was dinner time!
At the temple grounds, Manaka stood before the Head Priest; his eyes seemed to be heavily dilated, as if his mind was in another dimension while his body was stuck there.
"Tell me, what has happened in the past week?"
"A young man had wandered into the temple grounds…"
"It's a start…good."
Manaka pressed further.
"Anything I should be worried about?"
"Yes, he possesses some metal contraption that could cause a heatwave," The Head Priest answered in a daze.
Manaka rubbed her chin. From its sounds, this mysterious young man seemed to possess a Mystic Code that could utilize some Fire Magecraft. It was interesting. Fire was quite common, but to cause a heatwave? She needed to be careful.
But, a Magus wouldn't just-
Rumble!
"!"
Manaka peered over the dazed Head Priest's body and noticed a crimson glow near the mountains. The shockwave that occurred was almost similar to an Earthquake!
An almost sinister smile crept upon Manaka's delicate face, and her fingers twitched. Whoever this was didn't bother to remain silent, nor hidden! Was this person even aware of the effects he was causing?
Not bothering to look back at the monk, Manaka placed him under a heavy suggestion spell. He'll awake fully after she's far away.
…
Ryuga, after cooking the rabbit to a nice crisp texture, went straight to training. His Fox companion had already curled up to nap, having been used to the after-effects of Ryuga's loud training sessions.
However, its fluffy ears twitched, and it lifted its head to look down the open path with a narrowed gaze.
Ryuga was about to release L-Drago again but halted as he peeked over to his new companion; his eyes caught sight of an approaching figure. He was sure it wasn't a monk, as this person was short in stature.
The pink fox's eyes widened, and not a moment later, it picked itself up hastily and snarled.
Ryuga also felt his instincts go awry as if warning that the person approaching was not someone ordinary.
"Ah, so you're the one causing my little sister to lose hours of sleep."
Ryuga wanted to snort, but as the person approached, standing a few meters away, his eyes immediately scanned them. Platinum blonde hair, sparkling azure eyes, almost as bright as gemstones, and a rather prim and proper dress.
This girl screamed rich, at least to him.
"You're the first human to walk directly up here without fear," Ryuga commented, his tone with a hint of mirth. "Did those monks send you after me? I have to say, sending a little girl is hilarious."
Although Ryuga found this funny, his fox companion didn't!
They began to pull on his leg as if trying to usher him to safety, but Ryuga stood firm.
"How odd, I can't gather information about you…"
"Heh, of course you can't," Ryuga snickered. "You seem to have my little friend here antsy, and I have to ask, who exactly are you?"
"Huh, it's rude not to introduce yourself first, but I'll comply. My name is Manaka Sajyou."
Ryuga patted the fox's head, slightly calming it down.
"I'll grace you with my name only because you seem like quite the interesting girl. My name is Ryuga, the Dragon Emperor. Remember it well!"
AN: Sorry for this being late. I edited and uploaded this simultaneously with my Dragon Ball Super story, which took me a long time to finish. Although this chapter wasn't eventful, it finally sparked the beginning of Ryuga's entry into the Moonlit world.
BlankSlate00 - CJ's video reminded me how great Ryuga was; I will have to rewatch it eventually. The scaling is also pretty wild.
Axel363402 - I want to try something unique with this evolution, a mix of Fate and Beyblade. You'll have to wait and see.
