Most girls were complaining about not being productive. It was obvious since they couldn't do many things as a chibi-furthermore, they aged too. Although... Ara actually got tired and went to sleep already. Even so, Nisha was smiling. She had a lot of fun in the circus with several people.
"Laby misses you guys. Is there any potion to swap body?" Nisha asked. It would be a question, but with her tone, it was more of a request.
"We do, Nisha. We can use it another time. We have a meeting with El Masters and the others tomorrow," Rena smiled as she picked up the black colored potion and looked at it.
"How did I not know anything about this?" Lu asked with a confused look, but also unsatisfied. She might have prepared a bunch of plans to do with Ciel for tomorrow.
"I don't want to meet that scary dragon again..." Aisha whined and buried her face on her pillow.
Eve was confused about this, so she searched for memory where there was a possibility of them meeting "El Masters and the others". Apparently she went with Add to meet Adrian and some stuff happened there. She didn't really meet the El Masters. This happened during the time that was skipped by the Job Advancement Potion.
"It's fine!" Rose snatched the black potion from Rena's hand and opened it.
Body Swap Potion: It happened again. What kind of body do you have right now?
Ain woke up and stretched his body. He sat on his bed for a moment, then he rubbed both his eyes.
"You're not Ain, aren't you?"
Ain jumped and shrieked when he heard the voice. He noticed he wasn't himself when he heard his own voice.
"Goddess Ishmael?!" Ain asked with a confused look. His head hurt a bit from the shock in the early morning. He sighed and scratched his head. "I'm supposed to be Ara..."
"Don't think too much about it."
Ain sighed and stood up. "Aren't we supposed to meet El Masters today? Is Ain meeting with Hernia?" he asked confusedly and walked outside the room. He could smell a delicious breakfast for the day. Curious with whose body that Ciel was using, Ain walked to the kitchen and took a peek.
Elsword noticed his appearance and turned his head to face Ain. "Who might you be?"
"Ara," Ain answered and approached Elsword to help with breakfast. He couldn't cook better, but at least he could prepare the utensils. "You're fine on that body, Ciel? I heard some bad stuffs about Dark El..."
"This is nothing compared to Lu," Elsword smiled slightly. Ain didn't even want to know what Lu usually said on his mind. He believed it would be better if he knew nothing.
Just when they talked about it, Lu walked downstairs with a straight face and stared at them. "Really? I was hoping I could meet Ciel."
Ain would ask who she actually was, but judging by the tone of her voice, he already knew. "You might need to check who's on your body, Add. They might accidentally destroy it," he said casually.
"It won't break. It's fine," Lu replied with a shrug. For some reason, the real person inside Lu's body didn't care at all with what's happening on their real body. Instead, she walked away and sat on the sofa.
Ain decided to check on Add's lab, just in case something bad was happening to his body. He knocked on the door and opened it slowly. He didn't want to disturb his sleep, in case he was still asleep.
Pew! Crack!
A cracked space just appeared in front of Ain's face. It made him yelped a bit in surprise and took a step back.
"Ah, sorry. I was testing stuff."
Slowly, Ain walked forward and met Add's gaze. It was still a straight face, but unlike the usual Add, his eyes still had sparkles on it. He looked more alive without dead fish eyes.
"Are you Chung?"
Add was a bit surprised with the question, then he nodded and smiled. "I am. How did you know?"
"We live together for years. Of course I know," Ain chuckled. He was glad to see Add was doing fine, so he left the lab and waited for someone else to come out.
Add tilted his head a bit, then he stared at the door with a gloomy face. "Is that Ara? Did I not pay attention to my friends that much?"
After a few hours, everyone got up. The breakfast time became more chaotic than usual, knowing that most of them will meet the El Masters to show their improvement.
First one was Ara and Nisha, who were going to meet with Gaia. They would be the less chaotic ones because they have Eun and Laby.
The one inside Ara was Ain. She will be completely fine as long as she follows what Eun said. In case things get too confusing, she could let Eun take over the body.
The one inside Nisha was Rena. She could be expressive unlike Nisha, but Laby said everything is fine. It seemed that Laby didn't care if anything looked wrong.
Second was Elesis, Lu, and Ciel. They were going to meet Rosso, a short tempered El Master.
The one inside Elesis was Elsword. This meant she could be annoying at any time as she wanted. The real Elesis tried to convince her to not make many troubles, but they doubted that Elesis would listen.
The one inside Lu was Add. She didn't seem to care about anything that was going to happen. The real Lu didn't care as well, so in case Lu did something bad, it would be troublesome to the other two.
The one inside Ciel was Rose. Just like real Lu, real Ciel didn't care about the result of the meeting. Therefore, if one of the demon duo made trouble, it would be unstoppable.
Third was Rena and Rose. They were going to meet Ventus and Lincy.
The one inside Rena was Eve. She was surprisingly respecting everyone and willing to act like the real Rena. She didn't have any intention to make everything more complicated than it already was.
The one inside Rose was Raven. She didn't play to do unintentional things either and was willing to cooperate.
Fourth one was Aisha and Chung. They were going to meet Denif, the one that should be the wisest among all El Masters.
The one inside Aisha was Lu. The real Aisha was already begging her to not do anything weird, but knowing Lu and her lack of serious intent, it was pointless to say any other words.
The one inside Chung was Nisha. If only the real Chung cared about his own image, Aisha could be convinced to not do anything weird. Unfortunately, the real Chung told him to have fun with it.
Fifth one was Eve and Add. They were supposed to meet Adrian if this was the case, but they had enough talk with him, especially Add. It seemed that they were going to have some free time.
The one inside Eve was Elesis. She had trouble controlling herself at the moment, so real Eve didn't mind anything that would happen to her.
The one inside Add was Chung. The real Add already satisfied with his life, so he didn't even talk to him at all.
Sixth one was Elsword and Raven. They should be meeting Solace, but like the previous pair, they had enough with him as well.
The one inside Elsword was Ciel. As long as he didn't let himself get controlled by Dark El, the real Elsword wouldn't mind with anything he did.
The one inside Raven was Aisha. The real Raven will be fine with anything as long as he didn't remodel his own Nasod arm.
Last one was Ain. It seemed that he would meet Hernia to have a small talk.
The one inside Ain was Ara. Sadly the real Ain didn't even remember who Hernia was, so anything he did should be fine.
Now that we had a long essay for those, let's make it simple.
Name: Someone's body
Elsword: Ciel
Aisha: Lu
Rena: Eve
Raven: Aisha
Eve: Elesis
Chung: Nisha
Ara: Ain
Elesis: Elsword
Add: Chung
Lu: Add
Ciel: Rose
Ain: Ara
Nisha: Rena
Ara and Nisha were walking toward Gaia. Nisha greeted him with an unusual cheery smile, so it surprised Gaia a bit. On the other side, Ara didn't seem to show any expression. Gaia is a bit confused with this, but he decided to not think about it too much.
"Master Gaia, Laby has so many things to tell you. I will say everything that she wants to say," Nisha said before she started talking non-stop. Laby was talkative and cheerful, but Nisha's way of talking was making it sounds really depressing.
"She got this. What should we do?" Ara asked Eun as she tilted her head. She frowned a bit and twitched her eyebrows. Because she wasn't herself, she felt something that she normally wouldn't do. It might be the feelings of the body owner. "I want to spar."
"Do you want to?" Eun asked with concern. With her current ability, she wouldn't be able to control her own weapon.
"If I could throw this spear like I always do, then sure. Assist me," Ara smiled a bit and gripped her spear. She could hear Eun's chuckle, and slowly, Eun began to take over Ara's body.
They would expect Lu to start a war with Rosso for no reason, but surprisingly, it didn't happen. Rosso mocked them like usual, but this time, Elesis reacted first. "We got stronger unlike you, who almost got controlled by darkness."
In an instant, Rosso and Elesis had an intense argument. Lu and Ciel didn't even get to say anything. They just existed there as an observer. "Add, are we going to just watch?" Ciel asked without even trying to help.
"It's meaningless. I don't care. I'll go with the flow," Lu replied and stared at the two. She would help, but at this point, she could trigger Elesis for no reason as well. It's best to stay silent.
"Yes, mere demons can't kill me. I might be an elf, but I'm strong enough, you know?" Rena smiled as she clenched her fist. Previously, she learned that she wouldn't be fine around demons, but she told Ventus that she will be fine.
Ventus laughed and nodded his head. He was glad that nothing happened to both of them. "How about you, Rose? Are you still thinking you can die for your task?"
Rose gulped and shook her head. "Of course not! If I died to end the war, then it's fine, but I can't die now!" she answered and forced herself to laugh.
But for some unknown reason, she was actually prepared to die, even if she should sacrifice herself to guarantee everyone's safety.
Unlike the others, Chung was unexpectedly blunt this time. He showed the compass that Denif gave to him to detect El at Denif's face. Aisha was startled by this and tried to stop him, but Denif motioned his hand to prevent Aisha from doing it. The Water Master was still calm with it.
"Are you stupid? We have a strong Dark El aura in our group and I hold Water El on my armor. This thing doesn't work!" Chung complained as he narrowed his eyes. Aisha bowed down several times to beg for forgiveness. Even if she was planning to play around, she didn't expect this bluntness at all.
Denif sighed and stared at the two. "I was looking at the others. You're not yourself right now. Who are you?"
Aisha gulped and looked at Denif's eyes. "Actually... I'm Lu," she introduced herself and pointed at Chung, "and this is Nisha."
"So? I still have Chung's memories. He was very confused when you gave this item," Chung said without any respect to Denif. Knowing Nisha, she barely respected anyone in the first place.
Denif knew a bit about the test they got back then, so he decided to ask them the same questions. "You have the body owner's feelings, but I want to ask the real you. Tell me. What is your resolve?"
"Resolve?" Aisha asked confusedly as she recalled the moment where she had to fight Denif in a different time. She put her hand on her chin as she thought about it, then she looked at Denif with determined eyes. "Aisha and I have more or less the same goal. I'll take back my glory and be a queen of my kingdom," she answered. The kingdom, as she stated yesterday in the circus, was obviously the human world.
"I'm protecting Laby. That's all I care," Chung answered with a bored look, as if the answer was already obvious. Before Denif could speak more, Chung sighed and put his arms on his hips. "What's with Chung's vague answer? He said he's not answering."
"He got his own dilemma. Typical teenagers," Aisha smiled a bit and shrugged. She would choose easily, but she wasn't in his place.
Chung laughed sarcastically at the words. "Please, Helputt was supposed to be a guardian of Hamel, but lost to Dark El. Who needs to save such a weakling that fell into darkness easily? Answer is already obvious! Protecting you guys will be much worth than trying to save him."
Aisha and Denif didn't expect such an answer. It would be normal if it's Nisha's doings, but Chung himself was surprised with what he just said. He stopped smiling and touched his own lips with his fingers, as if he didn't believe what he just said. He stared blankly at nothing, wondering whether it was his actual feeling or not.
They were in silence for a moment until Denif broke it. "So whose feeling was that?"
Chung shook his head without facing Denif. Apparently he was still wondering about it.
"So why is this always happening every time we're in a bad situation?!"
A group of demons were invading Elrianode, the town they were at right now. Elsword got the hang of it, although he wasn't able to control Conwell properly. Raven's fighting style wasn't elusive and fast like usual, but at least he could be some help. Eve and Add didn't manage to do anything much. Killing one demon was a hard job to them and they had to work together to do that.
"I don't think I'm smart enough for this," Add smiled slightly and stared at the space cracks he made. Yes, he didn't know how to change it back and it'll crack forever. At this point, he could accidentally send them to another dimension and he wouldn't notice.
"I feel you. I need to know how to get that spear," Eve sighed and looked over everything on the screens from her drones. As a Nasod, she could easily recall her memories, but she couldn't do it because she didn't know how.
"Guys, can you at least prevent them from attacking the town?!" Raven shouted before he got into another mob of demons. Either Elsword or Raven could do it, but they can't hold the mob of demons alone. Therefore, the only way was Eve and Add figuring out how to fight properly.
"I'm trying!" Add shouted back without doing anything. Aside from cracking space, he didn't know what else he could do.
Suddenly Elsword laughed maniacally and threw several Conwells at the demons in front of him. "You guys are useless! I'll do it myself!" he yelled as he charged into a mob of demons and slayed them easily.
"He lost it. I guess that's Dark El for you," Add said calmly and looked at the scene. He scratched his head in confusion, then he faced Eve beside him. "Are you okay? You've been very quiet."
"I'm understanding everything."
The Queen of Nasods spread her wings. "I finally recalled everything! Come to me, plebs!" she shouted and slashed the demons in front of her with a huge spear.
In the end, Add didn't do anything useful for the team.
Ain had the most peaceful moment than the rest of the El Gang. He was chilling with Hernia. They didn't even talk about serious stuff. She enjoyed the story of El Gang's adventure, even though they mostly play around with potions.
"It sounds like a waste of time, but it's a good time to know each other," Hernia smiled gently and nodded. When Ain finished his story, she kept her smile and looked at him. "Isn't it time you tell me who you actually are? You're not Ain, aren't you?"
Ain startled at the question. Apparently Hernia noticed that Ain couldn't respond to her questions that fast because of short-term memory. He would need a little time to listen to what Ishmael said. Although she was expecting anyone to have short-term memory on his body.
Ain smiled apologetically and introduced himself as Ara. Hernia was interested in this and started asking "her" the same question, but from "her" perspective.
"I joined El Gang when they were in Hamel. I might do the wrong thing..." Ain sighed and told the rest of the story. Ara was preventing her brother from getting killed by Chung, but as the result, her brother managed to get away and never be heard of anymore. Her brother was consumed by the demon and became another person. She doubted that he could come back to himself, but he was the only family she had. She wanted to have him back, but would there be a chance?
Hernia smiled at her. "Don't lose hope. He'll come back," she said with certainty, even though she couldn't predict the future.
When they all arrived at home, they reported to the group what they had been doing for the day. As expected, nothing good was heard.
"The spar was fun, according to Eun," Ara reported first, meaning that she was becoming a spectator most of the time inside her own body.
"Master Gaia was a bit confused when he saw me talk to Laby, but he's fine with it! We had a great time!" Nisha shouted with enthusiasm. It seemed that she completely forgot that she had something to do with Gaia.
Elesis, Lu, and Ciel were covered with bandages. They didn't even have to explain what happened at the meeting. Everyone can tell just by looking at them. But their faces were happy and proud, meaning that they actually managed to beat Rosso.
Rena and Rose were having an actual proper meeting with Ventus, even though they screwed up a lot on training. This was probably the only good news they would ever hear for the day.
"Denif found out we weren't ourselves. We're just talking, though," Aisha shrugged and pouted. She seemed a bit disappointed to not have a spar or battle like the others.
"I said everything I want. Denif needed to know he can be stupid," Chung said bluntly. It made some people gasp, but the real body owner just laughed at it.
"I had a nice talk with Hernia!" Ain smiled cheerfully and started talking about some irrelevant stuff, like Hernia's favorite snack.
"I might have gathered too much Dark El," Elsword said casually. Even so, he was still fine and didn't lose his mind like the old days. It could be a good sign, but it could also be a bad sign.
Raven and Eve told them that they were doing fine in the battle. Add just said he was still not able to control the time and space and chose to not try it. Apparently it was a good choice.
When midnight came, everyone got frozen in place for a few seconds. They moved again and realized they went back to their own body. The first thing they did was recalling what they were doing for the day. As expected, Elesis startled first and yelled at Elsword while her brother was just laughing and apologizing about it. The others seem to be laughing at their own combat ability.
"So you literally said everything," Chung chuckled at Nisha. He wasn't even mad about it.
"Yes, I did. And I got some good memories from you," she smiled and turned around to face Chung. "I know things about music from it. I'll learn a piece when I have free time!"
Ara sat in the backyard and stared at the moon. "Hm... maybe you should've dodged that attack. Master Gaia hits very hard," she said to Eun. The spirit on her head agreed with her.
Ain walked toward her and poked her from the back. She yelped and turned around to glare at the person. When she realized it was Ain, she sighed and put her hands on her hips. "Don't scare me like that!"
"Aren't you lonely?"
Ara and Ain stared at each other without words. The question was out of nowhere. Ara didn't even expect Ain to say anything in the first place, so that question surprised her and made her mind went blank.
"Everyone was busy with each other. Elsword with Ms. Queen, Ms. Wizard with Raven to play tag, Ms. Elf with any trouble maker, Mr. Guardian with his book, Ms. Knight Captain and I following Elsword for reasons, Mr. Ancient with Ms. Gunner, Demons playing with themselves, Ms. Mirror with either Ms. Mirror Friend or Raven," he explained with a straight face. "You said those to Goddess Ishmael. You have Eun, but with everyone having fun around you, you're actually feeling lonely. Especially when Ms. Wizard took your only sparring friend, Raven."
Ara began to tremble a bit. Her face felt hot with tears rolling down to her cheeks. "I am... Nobody plays with me!" she sobbed. She's been holding that feeling all by herself, but because of this body swap potion, a certain someone understood her feelings. She wiped her tears and tried to stop crying, but surprisingly to her, Ain pulled her to his hug and patted her back. He didn't say anything, but Ara knew she could cry for more, so she did.
After a while, Ara broke the hug and smiled slightly with red eyes. "Thank you so much, Ain. And I'm sorry."
"I would forget this in a short time. Don't apologize," he said bluntly. Ara giggled at it and nodded. She was happy enough that someone let her cry to make her feel better. "Try following Mr. Guardian's hobby. He looked like he had a lot of fun just by sitting and reading."
"I don't like reading..." Ara muttered. But she would try to ask for a book recommendation tomorrow. She didn't want to be alone with Eun forever.
Special thanks to Jack Hunter!
