The girls had nothing to talk about. They gathered in a circle like always, but they didn't even know what they were doing for the day. Except for Aisha and Eve. Sadly Eve didn't even know why she did what she had done.
"So… we bought a huge caskey plushie for Noah," Rena said with an awkward smile and scratched her head. "Noah said Ain and I gave it to him. I wonder what the rest of you guys were doing."
"What happened to you, Eve? You seemed to remember something disturbing," Nisha asked with a curious look. She already knew Aisha didn't get affected, but she decided to keep quiet about it and asked Eve instead.
Eve turned silent for a while, remembering the stupidity she did. "Chung and I were a thing in that timeline. And I… cheated on him… for Add."
The girls shouted in disbelief, but then again, it was an alternate timeline. "Geez, even he got cheated on in that timeline? You guys are heartless," Lu commented, closing her eyes to imagine Eve betraying someone. It was hard to imagine someone like Eve doing that.
Eve pouted and buried half of her face with her pillow. The worst part wasn't her cheating on Chung. It was her simping for Add and gave him data about her own core. Her most precious and invaluable, one and only core of the Queen of Nasods. She, who prevented Add from getting her core since they first met, actually gave it to him by HERSELF. And it all happened in a day.
It all happened in a day when Add consciously told a bunch of lies and she fell for it. Conscious… because she was very sure Add wouldn't get affected by something like this. Even Rena told them that Noah was okay.
"It's fine, it's just an alternate timeline. I'm sure there won't be any more cheating," Rena smiled and looked at her potions. What would happen if she used two potions in a day anyway? But she wouldn't try it.
"Yeah, you might lose your virginity and didn't remember it," Rose smirked and tapped the floor with her nails, imagining if she actually had sex with someone for the day.
"Ah! Is that why you were so mad?! Did you do it with Add?!" Rena asked with a flustered face from imagining it.
"Thank god I didn't do it!" Eve yelled and threw her pillow at Rena's head. But the girls couldn't deny the fact that they might had sex with someone, unintentionally cheating on their partners.
"We're fine guys, we're fine! Let's just hope we didn't do that!" Ara said with a flustered look. Even she got worried about it this time.
"I can tell you guys about your boyfriends in that timeline. Then you can start worrying," Eve smiled and told the person starting from her right, Nisha.
"Hm, Ciel? No wonder we have those horrible cakes in the kitchen," Nisha commented with an annoyed look. She actually hated something that was badly made for Laby… considering she would make it for both Laby and Ciel. Ciel and her spent their time in the kitchen when they got home, so it was safe to assume nothing indecent happened between them.
Next was Lu and Elesis, who were best friends in that timeline. Both of them were looking at each other, probably being confused because they didn't even have the same interest.
Eve continued to Rena. The elf didn't seem really surprised to be with AIn. "That explains everything. I think we were with Noah all day."
Then Eve looked at Rose and told her about her boyfriend in that timeline. Rose and Raven spent their time in the empty field, but whether they did something or not couldn't be answered. She laughed and slammed her pillow to the floor. "Are you serious? That's so legit, I feel tired today!"
Next to Rose was Ara, who got even more concerned. "Huh? What do you mean we were nowhere to be seen?!" Ara asked in panic. She spent her time with Elsword for the day and she was expecting some weird and funny stuff from him.
"You guys made the puzzle together in one of the boys' bedrooms, framed it and put it in the living room, but… I didn't know whether you guys actually made the puzzle or… Mhm.. Don't worry, I'll forgive you if you actually did it. It was unintentional," Eve said with a smile. Even though her boyfriend was involved in this, she found it fun to tease Ara about it.
Last person was Aisha who was on her left. Eve narrowed her eyes at her, feeling something was off. "I think you guys are toying with us. Add distracted me and you came home with Chung at night. Are you, perhaps, not affected?"
Aisha forced herself to laugh. She can't really lie in front of Eve, so she admitted it. "I tried to get him, but he still wanted to be with you, Eve."
"'Still', I see," Rena's smile went wider as she looked at Aisha. "You could actually get him if it went for another day. Hangout with him on his day off!"
Aisha shook her head, her face felt hot from thinking of going back with Chung. "Stop it! We can't go back, come on… and he already has plans, I don't know if he's lying or not."
"He's hanging out with me. Are you jelly?" Lu grinned and giggled. Because of this, the girls suspected Lu of taking a liking to Chung.
"Now, now…" Rena took the peach potion and opened it.
Evil Inner Voices: There will be A LOT of people talking bad stuff in your head!
Ciel woke up early like usual, but there were a lot of voices in his mind.
"Just go back to sleep!"
"Who needs Lu anyway?"
"Yeah, we can just kill her and still be alive as one individual."
Ciel sighed and massaged his forehead. He remembered this kind of thing happened to him before; the day when he was in Elsword's body. Now that it happened to him, it probably happened to everyone. They will lose it in no time. Even so, he still had to make breakfast.
"You seem fine."
Ciel couldn't tell the difference between the voices in his mind and the other's voices. He faced the angel, who was walking along with him to the kitchen. "Lu is way worse than this," Ciel explained with a smile and faced Ain. "You're fine too. That's good."
"I can't remember what they were saying," Ain replied with a straight face. Short-term memory was good for once.
The demon's servant chuckled, looking away from him to prepare the breakfast. "I'm worried about the others. What will they even do today?"
"Good morning!"
Ara greeted them with a smile as she walked out of the bedroom. Ain greeted her back, feeling relieved that Ara was fine. Ara giggled and approached Ain. "What a dangerous potion. I have Eun with me, so I'll be fine!"
"You said that, but you still woke up too early," Ain commented and looked at Ara from top to bottom, making sure she's actually fine.
Ara shook her head and frowned. "It's bothering me, you know? But I can still hear Eun's voice to keep me sane."
After an hour, the breakfast was ready. There were screaming here and there, but they didn't know it was their friends screaming and not the voices in their head. It was hard to keep track of which one was real. Two people walked downstairs and one of them wasn't in their expectation. "Good morning!"
"Elsword! Chung! Good morning!" Ara smiled and waved her hands at them. It would be better if they could have more people 'alive' for the day.
"I knocked out almost everyone because…" Elsword smiled slightly and looked at Chung, "...you guys said you have voices in your head."
"Are you fine?" Ain asked and stared at Chung's troubled face.
"I'm not, but I can tell if you guys are talking," Chung answered as he looked away from them. His sensitive hearing made him able to tell the differences, but still… It was disturbing to hear the voices.
"Guys! You guys are fine?"
Lu came out of the room and looked at the people in the dining room. "I put the girls back to sleep… by force," she smiled apologetically and approached her friends. "Chung, you look terrible. Are you sure you're going to work?"
"He's not going to work today. I'll tell the owner," Ain replied with a serious look. He faced Lu, with also a serious look, but no sign of hatred was showing. "Take care of him."
"Oh, you trust me now?" Lu raised her one eyebrow, feeling confused and skeptical about all this. And why her? Ciel and Elsword were there too.
Ain didn't even remember why he trusted his friend in the demon's hand. He knew Chung trusted Lu a lot, judging by what had happened at the garden in the hotel before they got a house. They even hung out a lot lately. But… he already forgot this information.
After breakfast, Ara and Ain went off for work. Lu was just smiling while watching them walking further away. "Damn, that angel wants to be with Ara for a whole day. What a move!"
Ciel pointed his fingers at Elsword and Chung. "You guys need something to do. You know what I mean."
Elsword blinked his eyes several times. If they did nothing for the whole day and Chung refused to be unconscious, he would actually lose it. He just got an idea; the idea of his selfish needs. But with this situation, he could just go for it. "Chung, let's kill some demon mobs. You'll feel better!" he said with a smile.
"'You' feel better. Not me," Chung replied as he held his head with his left hand. "But sure. Lead the way."
"Nice, let's go!" Elsword got up from his seat and rushed outside while Chung followed him from the back.
"Finally, they're gone!"
"Let's kill everyone and conquer Elrios!"
"Wait, bring that boy with us!"
Lu shook the voices in her head and sighed. "Should I be worried? There aren't any demons nearby."
"We can follow them," Ciel suggested. They should be worrying about the rest of the group, but who cares! They'll go back to the unconscious realm with any method anyway.
Ain and Ara apologized for their absence yesterday. They informed Luriel that Chung couldn't come for the day. Luckily they're tolerated, even though they're new employees. "Your friends told me yesterday, saying you guys got into an accident! A-Are you guys fine?" Luriel asked with a worried look, looking at her two workers.
"We're definitely fine! Sorry for worrying you," Ara answered with a forced laugh. She didn't know who lied, she felt bad for a bunch of lies happening in a day.
The cafe was still empty and it had been a few hours. Ara sighed, looking out the window. "Should I advertise it? Maybe they're actually here for Chung…"
"Do we have the budget to be on internet ads?" Ain asked while thinking of any ads he could remember. Sadly, he didn't even remember what the internet was, aside from Lu posting videos. And Lu's videos weren't even ads.
"Not that kind of advertisement," Ara answered as she got out of the cafe with the menu board. The street wasn't that crowded, but she wanted to get as many customers as she could as an apology for their absence yesterday. "Please visit our cafe!"
And Ain didn't help. He didn't even remember the cafe's menu. If someone asked about it and he didn't know, it would give a distrust to the customers.
"Strip! Strip! Strip!"
"Yeah, show skins to attract them!"
"Ara, you should try to approach them."
"Pretend to fall and show your underwear!"
Ara's face slowly turned red from the voices in her head, but she clearly heard Eun. She gulped, walking toward people to talk to them. If she mixed them up with the voices, she would be doomed.
In a place a bit far away from Sander, a group of demons were killed. Their certain demon friend was laughing maniacally, spreading her arms with a smile. "Come, join us! We'll make earth a better place. We may be demons, but we have brains to create harmony!" Lu shouted and stared at Elsword and Chung.
Elesis nodded in agreement. She held her claymore tightly, standing in front of a demon army as the leader. "I agree. We can have more lifespan too!"
Bang! Bang!
Their corpses were lying on the ground after the shot. Both of them slowly turned back to their original demon form after impersonating their friends. The rest of them were split open with their inside coming out because of Elsword. "They have different organs. It's interesting," Elsword commented as he looked at his friend. "Chung, are you sure you don't want to pass out? You're way more aggressive than usual."
Chung narrowed his eyes at the corpses, holding his head with his right hand. The gun on his left hand was still ready to shoot more demons. "Sorry, I apologize."
"Hahaha! Why is he apologizing?"
"More! Kill more!"
"Let's open that body!"
"It's fine to me, but you need some rest," Elsword said with a concerned look. The voices in his head were cheering for Chung. He assumed they heard the same thing. Even though he would love to kill more demons, he didn't want his friend to do what the voices said. Moreover, killing their friends without hesitation was terrifying, even though they're in a field full of demons.
"Kill more! I want to be praised! I want headpats!"
"You grew a lot, Prince."
"Did I not do great enough?"
And yes, Chung heard the same thing, but different motives. He hated when his embarrassing thoughts were said out loud in his mind. "Rest, how?" he asked and faced Elsword.
"You stay here and let me kill some of them? You killed almost everything," Elsword said with an annoyed tone and searched for a mob of demons.
Chung sighed and looked away from him. "I spent most of my time reading books. I thought time changed people."
"It changed you, that's for sure," Elsword replied as he approached his friend with a concerned look. "What are you trying to say?"
"You're still creepy."
Elsword grabbed Chung's right shoulder with his left hand, showing the field full of demon corpses. "Okay, look, I lied. I haven't done anything. You killed all of them, even figures of our friends... and you're calling me creepy?!"
"Fine, I was wrong, you changed. You're useless now," Chung responded as he turned around to go back to Sander Village.
Elsword pouted and followed Chung. "What the hell?! Fight me!"
But Chung walked faster and aimed the gun on his right hand at Elsword's head. "Talk to me when you're creepy. Who are you?"
Bang!
Elsword dodged it easily and approached his friend. "Chung, seriously. Let me knock you out," he sighed heavily and hit Chung's back. He knew something was definitely wrong with his friend. Chung could be aggressive, but not to this extent.
Chung looked away from Elsword with a distorted face. "I—No… I'm hearing my father's voice."
Elsword blinked his eyes several times. He didn't know who the voices in his head were. One thing for sure; they were yapping non-stop. If it's the voices of dead people, then maybe… Helputt, Chung's father, already died? "I think you lost it, Chung."
"I believe I did."
Lu and Ciel were walking around the town. Lu bought newspapers and magazines on their way to find a patisserie. Sadly Sander wasn't a good place to find sweets, so they ended up at Cobo Cafe.
"Why are you buying those?" Ain asked with an interest in a female fashion magazine. He took it and looked at the latest popular fashion.
Lu liked the fact that Ain forgot he wanted her to take care of Chung… because she left her with Elsword and she didn't know what they were doing right now. She turned the newspaper page to the unpopular, probably lame news. "Eve said there's something going on with this town, so I want to know what kind of lies they have—Ciel!" Lu stopped her words and poked Ciel's arm, showing an article in the newspaper. "You're known as a kidnapper and I'm known as a victim with Stockholm Syndrome. This town is wild!"
Ciel sighed, didn't know what to say to that. As long as he didn't get arrested, he should be fine. He already gave a bad impression by taking a walk with a little girl anyway. He looked at Ain, who had a serious look on a fashion magazine. "Why are you reading that?"
Ara came back with the cakes and milkshakes for Lu and Ciel. "Enjoy," she said with a smile, sending a kiss from her hand.
Ain turned his face to Ara and showed a page on the magazine. "I think you'll look good on this. Do you like it?"
Ara looked at the dress in the page. A classy peach dress with a small white bag and white heels. She turned to silence, imagining herself wearing it. "Um… not really. Why do you look at dresses all of a sudden?"
"You don't have a lot of dresses. A new one would be nice," Ain said and stared at Ara. "Let's go shopping. Is there any dress you like?"
Ara shook her head, her face turned slightly red. "I'm more comfortable with pants, to be honest. Why do you want me to wear something new?!"
"Then let's find new pants," Ain said as he looked at the next page of the magazine. "I heard women love clothes. I don't want to get the wrong size, so I'll take you with me."
Lu giggled, still holding her phone with a smile. "Ain, you have a unique way of loving a girl!"
Ara yelped when she realized Lu was recording them. She frantically tried to stop the recording, but Ciel took over the phone, moving it far from Ara's reach. Her face turned red and closed the magazine in Ain's hands. "L-Let's get back to work! Don't flirt when she's recording!"
"Flirt is a way to show interest. I believe it's fine," Ain said with a confused look, putting the magazine to the table and followed Ara outside to advertise the cafe. He's bad at it, but at least he was trying.
"Does Ain not know "I love you" or what?" Lu asked with a giggle and told Ciel to stop the recording. She took back her phone and checked the recording. "Ara didn't reject the flirt. They should be a thing already."
"Ain is stupid at this. Should I teach him something?" Ciel sighed and looked at their soon-to-be-couple with a concerned look.
"Ciel, you can't teach anything if you're still single."
"Don't remind me!"
After finishing their lunch, the duo demon went out to walk around the outskirts of the village to find Elsword and Chung. Lu expected them to be searching around for demons, but… looks like Elsword knew exactly where the demons were and just went for it. Now they could do nothing but wait for them to come back.
They did come back… from somewhere that wasn't Sander Village. Elsword looked fine like usual while Chung seemed stressed about everything. It made them wonder why he decided to be awake. Lu smiled at them and waved her hands. "Hey guys! How was—"
"Chung—!"
Bang!
A bullet passed by the left side of Lu's head, almost hitting her horn.
Chung pointed his gun at her head, but Elsword pushed his aim away from it. Ciel tried to protect her, but she raised her one hand, telling him to stay where he was. "Don't worry. He won't shoot me again," she smiled and spread her arms. "It's us, Lu and Ciel! Thank you for taking care of the demons!"
Elsword stayed silent, watching Chung still trying to point his gun at Lu's head. He remembered his friend did the same thing when they first met Lu and Ciel. It was understandable when his father was taken away by the demons, but… how come he doesn't trust the duo demon now?
"Shoot him first! Let's go!"
"Lu's life is important!"
"How dare he show disrespect to her!"
Ciel's mind was filled with voices that told him to kill Chung first. Even if he had too, he was sure it wouldn't be that easy.
"She's an impostor!"
"Is she one of them?"
"Just shoot already!"
Chung didn't know what's right and wrong anymore. Even his father's voice was telling him to kill them. He killed too many demons before. Some of them could pretend to be someone he knew, but in that place, he didn't have to think twice. Now who was this demon in front of him? Real or fake?
He noticed the hairpins in Lu's hair. It was usually the normal colorful hairpins, but this one was a bit different. The one that was supposed to be magenta… was bright pink. And he knew very well of these bright pink hairpins. He lowered his gun, looking away from them. "I-I'm sorry… I wasn't—"
"It's fine! You need some rest, you look horrible," Lu giggled, holding Chung's hand—the same hand that pulled the trigger and almost shot her head. She sighed heavily, still trembling a bit with cold sweats running down to her skin.
"Wanna play cards?" Elsword asked with a smirk, imagining the punishment part for the loser.
But before he said his ideas, Lu already shouted with sparkling eyes. "Loser takes off one piece of clothes. Let's go!"
"No horny!" Elsword smacked Lu's head with his hand. He couldn't save them from Ain anymore. Maybe Ara could… because Ain clearly showed affection toward her. "The loser has to blow up a balloon."
They bought a lot of balloons from the store. The punishment was out of context, even Elsword didn't have a good reason for it. But they went along anyway.
"See you tomorrow, Luriel!"
Ara waved her hands before leaving the cafe at night. She stretched her body while walking home. "A shift would be nice. Hopefully she gets more workers in the future."
Ain nodded in agreement. 12 hours of work with 1 hour of lunch time wasn't a problem for him. But he didn't want his friends to be overworked. Especially Ara.
Remembering what the angel did today, Ara's face flushed red. He did a bunch of obvious stuff and she wondered why he didn't say "I love you" right away. It started by playing around with Ain to make him smile. How did it end with him loving her anyway? "What do you like about me?" she asked in curiosity.
Ain told him what his clone had told Elsword and Eve. It was too blunt, Ara couldn't help but laugh at him. But Ain didn't find this to be embarrassing. He was rather relieved that it made her laugh. "Do you like anything about me?"
Ara laughed louder. She didn't care to bother people around her. Her stomach started hurting, tears came out of her eyes from laughing too much. She even forgot the voices were still in her head. After a while, she finally stopped laughing and controlled her breathing. "Ain… you're so blunt, sometimes bluntly stupid."
"Is that… good? You like me being stupid," Ain said with, ironically, a serious look. It made Ara laugh again because Ain might genuinely try to be stupid.
"I like when you don't pick a fight with our friends. Did you settle it with Lu and Ciel?" Ara asked, looking at their hands as they walked together. Would it be awkward if they're holding hands? They weren't a thing yet.
"I didn't, but Chung seemed to trust them a lot," Ain answered, trying to remember the part where he actually hated the duo demon. Of course, he wasn't able to recall a thing.
Ara laughed again, even though she wished she could stop laughing for today. Her wish was fulfilled immediately when Ain held her hand. She smiled at it, feeling her face getting hot.
"We're home—"
Pop!
Ara shrieked when she heard the sound. There were too many colorful balloons on the first floor. One of them was behind the door, so she accidentally popped it. Ara and Ain went in and approached the four people in the living room. "What are you guys doing?" Ara asked and peeked at the cards in the middle.
"Stop countering me! What do you want?!" Elsword yelled as he put his remaining 3 cards on the floor. He picked up a balloon and blew it up.
"Ah… Hahaha! I told you. I don't care as long as you lose," Chung chuckled, watching Elsword hurt his cheeks from blowing up too many balloons.
"We're playing cards for… has it been 6 hours?" Lu asked as she looked up to find the clock in the room to check. She smiled wryly and pointed her finger at Chung. "And he's going crazy."
"I'll get the dinner for you guys," Ciel stood up and walked to the kitchen. He would be mad if one of the balloons ended up there.
"Let me play one game! What are we playing?" Ara took over Ciel's spot and shuffled the cards.
Lu narrowed her eyes at Ara, feeling skeptical that she immediately shuffled the cards when it should be Elsword's punishment. "No cheating."
"I don't cheat, don't worry," Ara said with a smirk.
But Ain ruined her plan. "She's lying."
"Ain, don't tell them!" Ara whined and pouted, still shuffling the cards.
Chung laughed, taking a balloon nearby and popping it to surprise whoever around them. "Ahahaha! Go ahead, cheat. My goal is still the same."
"You're scaring me…" Elsword sighed as he tied the balloon and threw it to Chung. He was never this concerned of his friend before. Laughing was normal, he even wished for Chung to laugh more ever since he got into his own book worlds. But not like this…
They played cards until midnight. The sudden disappearance of the voices made everything sounded so peaceful. Even the sound of wind was so nice. "You guys should sleep! I'll clean everything," Elsword said as he gathered the cards back to their box.
"It's amazing that you live with those every day, Elsword. I don't know what would happen without Eun," Ara sighed in relief, enjoying the silence in the room.
"Chung lost it, though," Lu giggled and looked at Chung, who had already passed out on the floor.
Ain picked up Chung with his hands. "I'll take him upstairs. I don't trust—" he stopped his words, recalling what Ara said to him on their way home. He barely remembered it, but Ishmael helped him. Ara liked him when he didn't pick a fight, especially with the demons. He can't just say he didn't trust them now. He narrowed his eyes on them. "I don't trust Elsword to actually clean the mess. Watch over him while I take care of everything upstairs."
"Huh, what?! I'm just cleaning!" Elsword yelled and threw a balloon at Ain. Sure, he was planning to pop it one by one, but Ain never said that kind of stuff before. Not to him, at least.
Ara laughed while she hoped she wouldn't laugh anymore. "Good night, guys! I'll leave the task to you, I'm sleepy!"
"Don't worry. Leave him to us," Lu smiled and waved her hand at Ara. Elsword just sighed, feeling disappointed that he couldn't pop the balloons one by one.
So he summoned a lot of blades, enough to pop all the balloons in one stab.
