During the day in the morning, before Rena and Noah ran around the town to freeze everything, the group was still in the house. They were sitting in a circle in the living room. Lu started explaining to them about her plans.
"My plan was to make content with you guys, but I'm changing it!" Lu shouted and stood up to face them all. "We're going to purify this town! It won't work right away, but we're starting it now!"
"What's there to purify? I patrolled on my work and I saw nothing weird," Raven said and stared at the demon. He remembered what he passed by ever since he got the job; it was just a normal town.
"What makes you say purify? Did you encounter something?" Rena asked with a curious look, since she did nothing but work on her cosplay now.
Lu thought about something and put her hands on her hips. She faced Chung and stared at him for a while. "There were demons aside from Ciel and I inside this house once. Say… when was the last time you saw Chung losing his composure?"
They looked at Chung right away. The boy mentioned by Lu kept reading his novel like he wasn't even included, although his ears twitched as a reaction to it. They were trying to remember something, but they couldn't. "Maybe somewhere before he broke up with Aisha?" Raven asked and folded his arms.
"Well… he lost it a few days ago when we were playing cards during that day with weird voices in your head. Chung, do you remember?" Lu asked with a serious look.
"No, my memory is hazy," Chung answered and flipped the next page of the novel. "We went home and played cards. I don't really know what happened after."
"Oh, I remember the balloons!" Noah smiled and recalled the popped colorful balloons all over the first floor.
"Yeah, that one!" Lu smiled and patted Noah's head. She faced Chung again, still with a serious look. "Ara joined us in the last few hours. Do you remember that?"
Chung shook his head. "No, it was Eun."
The group turned silent. Rena and Noah didn't have any memory of it. Somehow Raven disagreed, making conclusions based on what he saw that night. "I went downstairs immediately after that sound. There was no sign of Eun possessing Ara."
"I believe the demons were trying to possess Chung when his mind was disturbed. There were screams for help when Elsword stabbed all the balloons. Did any of you hear it?" Lu asked and sat back on the rug. She was doubting herself when Ciel said he heard nothing, but she felt like it was real. Sadly none of them heard it.
"So… the balloons were demons?" Rena asked again in disbelief. She felt something was clearly unusual. "Ain would be yelling about it by now. Isn't he sensitive to demons?"
"He didn't," Lu pouted and slammed the floor several times. Her tail was wagging and her ears were pinned flat back. She believed she heard it right, so why did nobody hear it, not even Ain? She should be able to find more, but she didn't know how.
There was another silence with just the sound of Noah eating chips. Lu couldn't explain what she was sensing, but she believed they were demons. Rena and Raven were doubting Lu because of a lack of proof. They wanted to believe her, but what if it was all in her head?
"Then what are we going to do?" Chung asked to break the silence. "How do we find these demons?"
"Yes! Just find them," Noah smiled and opened another bag of chips. His ears went forward and his tail went up. He didn't know what else to say.
"Well… Add is unusually going out now, so maybe something caught his interest," Lu replied and looked at Noah. Then she faced Rena, who was still confused about all this. "Can you guys distract him from me? He's gonna play around with this thing!"
"Of course! How, though?" Rena nodded her head, willing to help something she didn't understand. Her eyes widened in surprise, she went to the girl's bedroom to pick up an accessory.
Ring!
She put it on Noah's neck, making the boy's ears flattened down. "Is it too tight?" she asked as she looked at him, trying her best to not smile widely.
"No, but…" Noah bit his lips and touched the collar bell on his neck.
Ring!
Rena squealed and hugged him tightly, her ears back flat against her head. "You're so cute and adorable! Take a photo with me, please? I'm sure people will love this," she said as she took out her phone and quickly swiped the screen to camera.
The last sentence made Noah feel better. His ears went straight up and nodded. "Y-Yes! We make people happy!"
"Alright then, say cheese~!"
And the rest of the group were at loss for words. They were very sure the collar bell was just a part of Rena's personal interest, but as long as they could work on something, it shouldn't be a problem. "Rena, let me put some spells on your traps. I need you to spread it around the town," Lu smiled as she prepared for another plan.
"Oh, we're splitting? How do we know each other's location?" Rena asked as she grabbed Noah's cheeks from the back and pinched them a bit. Lu had flashy abilities, but it would scare the townspeople. She herself had nothing too flashy and neither did Raven. Chung could use explosions, but that will cause a new problem.
"I can help," Noah smiled and raised his hand.
So they went out and splitted into 2 groups. Lu sighed and scratched her head. "Well, you see, it was like this," she said as she touched the public trash bin. A blue aura appeared around her hand, slowly vibrating the object until it vanished into thin air, leaving the trashes on the ground. The scream was like a screech, she covered her ears immediately.
"I heard nothing," Raven said with a confused look, but he could clearly see what's happening around the town.
Chung blinked his eyes several times. "I thought Raven was just getting old, but I heard nothing too."
Raven snapped his finger at Chung's forehead, making Lu laugh at them. Lu smiled and approached her friends. "Well, let's spread the spell around the town. Any ideas on how to make it something like Rena's trap?"
Chung's eyes widened a bit, his wolf ears went straight up from hearing something. He turned around, looking at an ice flower freezing a building. "That looks like Noah. Alright, guys, quick! How do we spread the spell?! I can't purify them one by one!" Lu shouted in excitement.
"Your old hairpins," Raven suggested and pointed his finger at Lu's hair.
"That's not enough, but it'll work! I'll get it," Lu nodded her head and flew back to their house.
"Can't she just use water?" Chung asked before he went to a minimarket.
"I'm sure it's not that simple–"
In the end, Raven waited alone in the street until Lu came back with her box of old hairpins. Chung finally came out of the minimarket, bringing a bunch of styrofoams from, maybe, the minimarket's storage. "What are you thinking?" Lu asked in disbelief and grabbed one of the styrofoams.
Chung rubbed 2 styrofoams together, slowly destroying it into beads and letting it get blown by the wind. "Does that work?"
Lu casted her spell onto the styrofoams. The styrofoam beads in the air now contained her spell. She was in awe, clapping her hands at the ridiculous idea that actually worked.
Raven smiled and grabbed the box from Lu's hands. "I'll be back. I'll spread this somewhere you guys didn't reach," he said before he ran quickly to another place. With how fast he was, he already disappeared from their sight.
"Alright, let's move away from Noah's ice! Forward!" Lu commanded as she brought the styrofoams while Chung turned them into beads.
"And we're here now. We successfully purified some demons in the town!" Lu bowed down as she ended her story. Aside from how silly the method was, she was very proud of the result. She loved hearing the praises from townspeople.
"By littering the whole town!" Rose yelled and pointed her hands at the street while her ears turned backward. Styrofoam beads were scattered all around, some of them already got blown by the wind to nowhere.
Lu forced herself to laugh and glanced at Chung, who didn't show any expression on any of this, but his tail was wagging. The boy knew this would happen—and it happened like how he wanted it to be. She pouted and folded her arms. "Help me clean the town! It's your idea!"
"You agreed to it," Chung replied with a smile.
Growl~!
"I'll help after dinner!" Noah smiled and got up to find a nearby place to eat.
Rena grabbed his hand before Noah went further away. "All of us are hungry. Let's eat together!"
While the town was cheering on Lu and what she had done, certain 2 people didn't care much about it. They were still in a five star hotel, having a lot of food for dinner while enjoying the relaxing live music. They sat on the seat in the corner, having a view on almost the whole town. They could see what was happening from the huge window next to them.
"Hm… so there are demons that I can't detect," Ain mumbled as he looked at his plate. He thought everything would be fine as long as he followed Ishmael's order, but this event reminded him that he was just an angel. These tricky demons weren't powerful, but it was beyond his capability. He felt like a failure, an abomination to all angels.
Ara smiled and moved closer to him, patting his head gently. "It's alright, Ain. You already did a lot for us."
Ain sighed and looked at Ara. He was concerned that one day they would be in danger and he didn't sense a thing. Eun didn't seem to notice anything either. He told her his concern, but she just giggled at it. "Everyone has their part. You're doing your part like usual. This is Lu's part, so we have to stay together," she said as she tapped the glass of the window. "This place is probably for Lu. When it comes to Nasods, then it's the other's turn. Don't worry, Ain!"
"Is that so?" Ain looked at the town that didn't seem to change much. Is this the part where he would be useless most of the time? Even so, there should be something he could do to at least help the group. "So working in the cafe is my part now?"
"Our part!" Ara nodded her head. "Let's do our best. Hopefully we can keep the customers coming."
Ain completely forgot Chung was working there too. He thought of a way to get rid of him, but he quickly removed the idea from his to-do list. "Are you happy today?" he asked and looked at Ara's face.
Ara nodded again with a smile, her ears flattened back. "I am very happy, Ain. I don't remember the last time I felt this needed," she said with a flustered face. She felt like she had nobody weeks ago, but now she had been spending her time with Ain. She loved every moment, she felt like someone actually cared for her.
"I need you all the time."
The words made her head feel hotter. Ain grabbed her to the live music's stage, making her feel more confused than flustered. The musicians slowly changed their music play to a romantic theme. In fact, the musicians seemed to know what was happening, which made Ara curious.
Ain got down on one knee, opening a box with a diamond ring inside. "Ara, will you marry me?"
Ara turned silent for a while, trying to process that everything was real and actually happened. She didn't even bother to check his surroundings and stared at Ain all the time. Her ears straightened up. She yelped when she finally came to a realization and held Ain's hand tightly. "Ain, there's this thing called dating!"
Ain nodded his head. "I'm aware. Is that necessary if we're going to be together in the end?"
Ara finally realized she couldn't stop smiling. The whole thing seemed silly, but incredibly unexpected to her–in a good way. She finally opened her mouth and gave an answer. "Yes, I'll marry you!"
Everyone in the room cheered for them, being happy for their engagement… while they haven't even started dating or saying a single "I love you" in their entire "friendship". Ain put the ring to Ara's left finger… with an actual genuine smile.
"Ara, I love you."
"I love you too, Ain."
And for the first time, they kissed on the lips.
"Who knows your Nasod hand would finally come in handy."
"Shut up!"
The black hole on Raven's Nasod arm was used to suck all the remaining styrofoam beads they could find. All of them were put in a trash bag. "Thanks a lot, Raven!" Lu smiled at him. She felt bad for using his Nasod arm that way, but it was the most effective way.
On the other hand, Chung seemed to enjoy every little troll that was happening, his tail kept wagging. He caused this, after all. "Did you learn this kind of thing from Elsword? I swear…" Rena sighed heavily and massaged her forehead. Elsword had been busy with Eve, so she hadn't experienced this much of a problem for a while.
"Maybe it's his way to cope," Noah replied as he grabbed another bottle of grape juice from his bag.
"Huh? Cope? Cope for what?" Rena asked and looked at Noah. She was unable to think of any reason for Chung to cope. She looked at him to try to find any ideas, but she only saw him grabbing Add's tail.
Zap!
The Dynamos zapped Chung's hand in an instant. Add glared at Chung with his ears and tail straightened up. "What is wrong with you?!" he yelled as his left eye glowed up. Their surroundings started cracking, as if they were inside a glass.
Chung didn't explain and just ran away. Lu immediately spread her wings to match with Chung's speed and took him away. Add wasn't in the mood to chase another person, so their surroundings came back to normal as Rose patted his head to calm him down. "F-ck off, I'm not a pet!" Add slapped Rose's hand.
"Aw, so cute! Come here," Rose smiled and pulled Add into her arms.
Noah kept sipping his juice. He forgot not everyone knew of the news yet. Rena was still staring at him, waiting for an explanation. He was just assuming and he wasn't sure if Chung was still thinking of his father's death or not.
"Are you going to tell me?" Rena pouted and pinched Noah's cheek lightly, almost making him choke. She admitted she hadn't been checking on everyone lately and going to her fantasies too often.
"Chung's father died–"
Ciel ran toward them, panting heavily while moving his eyes around to scout Lu. His partner clearly said she was here, so where did they go, after he ran as fast as he could? "They ran away. Not sure where to," Raven informed the servant.
Ciel nodded his head and ran again. He felt jealous when Lu spent time with someone else. He even started to dislike Chung a bit from this, but he told himself that he shouldn't hate on people. Even he himself went on a date with Elesis without telling Lu.
"Wait, are you joking?" Rena asked with a forced smile, feeling disbelief of what she just heard.
Raven shook his head, his ears laid back. "He's not, sadly."
It was the exact same empty hill as before. Lu laid down on the grass, looking at the stars in the sky. "I'm sorry, Chung. We're supposed to hangout today. I even asked you for it," she apologized, but she didn't want to face him. Would he be mad about it? She was always selfish around Ciel, but most of the time, she forgot that she couldn't act the same around everyone else.
"Don't apologize. I had fun today," Chung smiled and laid down next to Lu. There was nothing interesting in the sky, just stars sparkling and a half moon.
"Next time, then. Just the two of us!" Lu giggled and moved her body to face Chung. Love was still a strong word for her, but she liked being around Chung lately. Maybe if she went together with him somewhere, she would notice something.
"Where should we go?" Chung asked. All he did was go to the cafe for work and go home. He didn't know places.
"A lot! We can just walk around," Lu nodded with a smile. She hadn't felt this excited for a long time. She wished the time could just skip for a whole week.
Just like their previous time, Chung mistook Ciel as a wild animal again. He chuckled at it and made his gun disappear.
"What are you guys doing here? Seriously…" Ciel sighed heavily and caught his breath. He got slightly annoyed that he searched different places, only to find them on the exact same spot as before.
Lu giggled and got on top of Chung. "We were doing some very arousing stuff. Are you jelly? Was your date with Elesis not as far as ours?" she asked, obviously lying about it.
But for Ciel, who had a lot of thoughts in his mind, took the words as a serious matter. He lost all his energy at once, he fell on his knees and faced them with a sad look. "What… Are you guys a thing now?"
"No. What's wrong with you?" Chung asked as he let Lu move away. He turned his body around and faced the depressed Ciel with his ears flattened down.
Lu snickered and walked toward Ciel to pat his head. "We're going to have a long talk later, Ciel! Let's go guys!"
"Talk now. I have to go somewhere," Chung waved his hand with a smile and walked away from them. He materialized his armor, going down the hill in an unsafe but fastest way.
Lu sighed and faced her servant. "Ciel, what's wrong?"
Ciel hesitated to talk, but Lu kept asking him. They sat on the grass and looked at the town while Lu was still trying to get him to talk. "Come on, say it. I'll bother you all day and all night if you don't want to tell me," Lu insisted and stared at him.
"I'm jealous. Chung gets to spend time with you lately," Ciel said with, unintentionally, an angry tone. He tried to make it sound nice, but his feelings said otherwise.
Lu frowned and looked away from him. "Same. I'm jealous Elesis gets to have a day with you alone."
Ciel's eyes widened in surprise when he heard that. He tried to look at his master's face, but she didn't want to face him. "My day was different today. It was fun and exciting, but then… you put on a show. You're having fun too, huh?" he asked with a forced smile. He enjoyed his time with Elesis, even though it was just a simple activity like trying on the dresses.
"Yes, it was fun. I had them with me, we were working and achieving something together," Lu replied and finally faced Ciel.
"But you weren't there with me."
Both of them were surprised when they said the same thing together. Tears rolled down to Lu's cheeks, her nose was turning red. "You weren't there, Ciel! It was fun, but my heart hurts!"
Ciel grabbed her body and hugged her. Lu's tears were the last thing he wanted to see. But she felt her; even though he had a great time today, something big was missing. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you about my date with Elesis–"
"No, it's fine. I like it when you start doing that," Lu smiled and wiped her tears. She sat on Ciel's lap and let him hug her from the back. "I told the girls they can play with you. It's… harder than I thought."
"It is. I miss you so much," Ciel muttered and hugged her tightly. It wasn't even a day yet, but he felt like his happiness was crumbling every time they got separated.
"You know we're not even bound by contract anymore, right? We're separated individuals," Lu smiled sadly. As both of them grew together, Ciel was finally able to live by himself. Both of them could just go their separate way.
"Hm… but we can't even live without each other for more than 5 minutes," Ciel replied to her. He's aware of it, but they were still together anyway.
The demon giggled and leaned her back on Ciel's body. "Chung and I are going for a date next week. Do you have any plans?" she lied and looked at his face for his reaction.
"I don't–Date?!" Ciel was startled when he heard the word, his ears went straight up. He swore Lu said that romantic stuff was way too early. When did they get this close, then?
"You better be busy then. It's my turn to be alone with him!" Lu jumped to the grass and faced him. "I have never had a date in my entire life. What do you think I should wear?"
Ciel sighed and got up. Both of them walked back to their town, probably going to take a while until they arrived at home. "Ask him, not me. Maybe he got a taste in something."
Midnight finally came. Most of them already went to the bedroom to rest… and maybe gossip for the girls. But Chung was still at the dining table reading his novel.

"We're home!"
"Welcome home."
Ara smiled and entered the house with Ain. They walked toward the bookworm and asked something. "What did you guys do today? It looked awesome," Ara said with a curious look. She spent her time with Ain, so she didn't notice anything else.
"We're spreading Lu's spell–" Chung stopped his words when he saw a glimpse of light. He looked away from his book, looking at Ara's finger. It was the diamond ring, reflecting the light. "Congrats, guys. Did you guys skip the dating phase and go straight to engagement?" he asked as he clapped his hands.
Ara's face flushed red, she couldn't say any words anymore. The engagement was too shocking for her, so her mind went blank every time she thought about it.
"It's unnecessary. I'm saving money for marriage," Ain said with a serious look. He held Ara's shoulder and snapped her out of her blank stare. "Get some rest. I need to talk with Chung for a while."
Ara smiled and went to the girl's bedroom. Chung was confused because he didn't remember having an important matter with the angel. "How do I get a promotion? I need a lot of money for marriage," Ain asked with his usual serious look.
Chung blinked his eyes several times before he finally gave an answer. "I don't think we can't get promotion within 1 month, but our current salary is based on how many customers we got."
"So you need to show your thighs and do indecent things as a part of our job. I require your assistance from tomorrow onwards," Ain said, still with a serious look. He had another person in mind to help him. It was obviously Noah, who could spend the entire day in the cafe and buy food at the same time. Apparently he was willing to do any means necessary just to get married with the girl he loved… also known as forcing someone else to do it.
"I'm not selling my body–"
"Thank you."
And just like that, he went upstairs. Chung decided to ignore it and continued to read his novel.

"Midnight cake is bad for your health—"
"I don't care! I want it!"
The duo demon came back together. Ciel had been trying to convince Lu to not eat cake at night, but she missed his cakes. He couldn't refuse that, so at least he can slice one of the cakes he prepared in the refrigerator. Lu got excited and sat next to Chung to wait for the cake. "Do you want a cake too, Chung?"
"No, thank you."
Ciel served the cake for Lu. Her smile made him happy. It was the missing part of their happiness, after all. "Why are you still awake?" He asked as he sat next to Lu.
"Rena asked if I could wait for everyone to come home," Chung answered and flipped the novel to the next page. He didn't look like he waited, though. "Did you guys see Elsword and Eve? They haven't come home."
"Huh? Rena usually waits for everyone to come home. That's weird," Lu commented with a confused look, but she shrugged it off. "Maybe she's tired!"
Special thanks to Astry for the idea!
Thanks for reading~
