Eve looked at each different person one by one. She went back to her office and came back with duplicate keys; keys for the swapped people's homes. "I believe everyone has a phone or remembers your way back home. Take the key. Raise your hand if you can't go home," she said to make sure everyone could go home safely. But a one time ride was probably not enough for some people to just suddenly remember the route.
Ara and Noah raised their hands.
"Well… I've been living here for a while. I can go home," Rena forced herself to smile and nodded her head.
"Can you share location? I'll reach home that way," Raven said as he checked his phone for signal. Fortunately, he could use everything just fine.
"I remember. I'll be fine," Add said with a tired look and just got out of the place.
"Hm… Rose, bring Ara with you for tonight," Eve commanded and faced Rose, who quickly accepted the request and held Ara's hand tightly. She faced Noah, who didn't seem to care as long as he got his snacks. "Chung, bring Noah with you for tonight."
"Y-Yes!" Chung nodded his head and faced Noah, who was offering his chips. He politely declined and let the kid enjoy it.
"Can we try your detective thing, since we're here?" Ara asked with a smile until Eve faced her. She got startled, shaking her head and forcing herself to laugh. "I-If no, then it's fine!"
Eve thought about it for a while. Since they're basically her workers until Add fixed the timeline, they'd need to work for her. She nodded her head, looking at the "new people". "Elesis, take Ara for tonight. Teach her the stuff."
Elesis gave a salutation. "Yes, ma'am!"
"Lu, Ciel, bring Raven with you. Tell him how to do it," Eve instructed the duo demons. Raven suddenly felt uneasy with how creepy they looked, but he shouldn't judge too early.
"Will Add be fine? I know he's smart and stuff, but…" Elsword wondered, feeling concerned for the tired kid from traveling through time and space.
"He'll be fine. I'll instruct you guys what to do tomorrow morning. Have a good night," Eve bowed down and went back to her office to get to her home.

Chung and Noah were heading to bed. They were all the way in a different town and he didn't have any communication device to call his friends. Just like his early time in the group of his timeline, he felt skeptical of everything. Especially Chung when he's new. "I'm not sure if I can teach you anything. I'm still new here," Chung smiled and finally found his sleeping bag. "I'll sleep with this. You can take the bed–"
Noah casted his healing ability. Chung looked at it in awe, like he just saw a random miracle happening physically in front of him. "You're way too quiet, unlike our Noah. Does Clamor not talk?" Chung asked and wondered about it.
"Is your father not here?" Noah asked a question back. Chung got startled with it and took a step backward. He smiled slightly and shook his head.
"Sorry for asking too much. Just ask me if you need anything," Chung apologized before turning off the lamp.
"I-I can sleep on floor–"
"It's fine, take the bed!"
So Noah ended up in the bed, facing the ceilings while covering himself with the blanket. During their short conversation, he noticed a lot of scars on Chung's body. It was covered with his pajamas, but still, Noah always noticed that. Especially when he mostly worked in a hospital.
He met a lot of patients. Ironically, Chung looked like one of them. The scars were hidden, some of his fingernails weren't fully grown, and easily got startled by something. His room looked fine at a glance, the wall was clean, but there were cuts and cracks on the floor, the window was cracked, the frame was a bit broken, but the lock looked new like it was changed recently. The bed itself looked fine, but only the mattress. The bed board has cuts for whatever reason.
He still remembered when he entered the house. The living room and bathroom looked fine and tidy. Just this one room was out of place. Maybe the wall was recently painted too.
Noah got up from the bed. "I can't sleep. Just take the bed," he said before he got out of the room. Since he's somewhat invited to invade someone's privacy, might as well do it.
While eating fried bananas.
Just as he suspected, there was nothing wrong with the living room and the bathroom. He went to the kitchen and looked around. The utensils were already blackened, but the knives were unusually clean like new. While looking back at the living room, he noticed some furniture seemed to be new.
He finally stood in front of a locked room. Maybe it was a storage or something similar, but judging by the house design, this should be a room, maybe the master bedroom. Why was it locked?
"What are you doing?"
Noah looked at Chung, who obviously found out he was up to something. He walked away from the locked room and approached Chung with a sad look. "Chung, were you abused?"
Chung's skin turned as white as a sheet. Cold sweat ran over his body as he looked away from his guest. "It must be horrible. Glad you survived and made it this far," Noah smiled and offered his snack.
"How did you know?" Chung muttered, finally getting back to his composure.
"You look just like my patients in the hospital," Noah said and looked around the house again. "And your house told me everything."
Chung forced himself to smile and hung his head. "Is that so? I guess you're a better detective than me…" he said as he wiped his tears. "I-I'm sorry, I remembered something. Let's go to sleep."
"I meant it when I said I can't sleep. Don't worry about me," Noah walked away from him and sat in the living room. He would keep eating until he felt sleepy.
Chung sighed and sat next to Noah. "You feel lonely, though. I'll stay here with you."
Noah narrowed his eyes and pouted. "I'll be fine. Just go to sleep."
"I bet you say that to everyone. I can observe too, you know?" Chung smiled and grabbed Noah's other hand that was holding the bag of fried bananas. "Your hands glowed a bit when you healed me. It's barely noticeable, but a really small part of your hands were crystallized even more. You find joy in healing people while you're physically losing yourself, you're selfless."
"I'm not lonely–"
"Clamor died," Chung spoke the truth, and probably going to make Noah cry soon. There was a crack on Noah's sickle, after all. "Some people cope with food from their sadness. I'm not sure about you, though. I think you just happen to be able to eat all the time."
"How did you know I always eat?" Noah asked in curiosity. He didn't remember Chung hanging out with everyone at all. He stayed in Eve's office for the whole day.
"Like I said, I can observe too!" Chung smiled with confidence. "If you ever feel alone, please know someone cares for you."
"Like who?" Noah asked while thinking about his group.
"Well… I can't make a guess that far. You got a friendship bracelet, so I'm sure you have at least one close friend!" Chung said, feeling confident with his deduction.
Noah stayed silent and stared at his bracelet. It looked horribly made by Nisha, but it was definitely her best. She went so far dragging him to the group so he won't feel lonely anymore.
Chung turned on the TV and browsed movies. "Are you scared of horror movies?"
Noah chuckled and shook his head. The boys played with Ouija board and Jelangkung almost every night. "Horror movies seem pathetic when we play around with lingering spirits on a daily basis."
It was supposed to be a day off, but some people were willing to work. This would be their first job if Eve would kindly give an easy task for the newbies. Chung didn't know what to do, so he came along to visit Eve. "Alright. I'll give you an easy case," Eve smiled and brought a yellow folder. It contained files of a murder case in a house. "If it's becoming complicated, call me for help," she continued and gave some people their new phones. Communication devices were heavily needed in this timeline.
"Murder?" Ara repeated and checked the files one by one.
The case was a murder of a husband in his bedroom, stabbed a single time in the back. The death wasn't instant. Estimated death time was 7 to 8 PM. The victim was found lying on the floor face down. There was a trace of Poidaughter, a blue colored poison that could kill a person between 5 to 10 minutes after drinking it.
During that time, the only people in the house were the husband, the wife and their 1 year old baby. Their neighbor called the police, reporting something about seeing a bloody person through the windows. When the police arrived, the wife and her son were sleeping on the bed and the husband was lying down on the floor in the bedroom. Of course, the wife got arrested as the prime suspect, since she claimed there was nobody else in the house.
"What do we need to investigate then?" Raven asked, feeling a bit confused with the case.
"Why was he stabbed, though? Did he die from blood loss or poisoning?" Rena questioned the whole case, but nothing made sense to her.
"Where do we get this poison?" Add asked Eve, who should know about the existence of the poison.
Eve thought about it for a while to search through her memories. "Sander Village. Vapor has it for her medicines. The poison will be a medicine if used on a correct dosage."
"Maybe the poison doesn't even matter. What if there's actually a random person stabbing him on the back?" Add shrugged and looked at everyone. "Let's go. Too early to accuse the wife."
"Wow! You're surprisingly enthusiastic about this!" Rena smiled and led everyone to go to the crime scene.
"Shut up! I'm done going through timelines for now!" Add yelled as they walked away from the office.
Eve smiled, her snake eyes appeared, feeling confident the case didn't look as easy as it sounded. But she also believed the newbies could work on it. "Did you teach Noah anything? Or does he just eat?"
Chung forced himself to laugh. "He noticed I was abused. Is that good enough?"
"I don't think so. You look pretty obvious to me," Eve commented as she walked back to her private break room.
Rena still had the identity card from Eve, so she could easily tell the police they were investigators. As the group entered the house, they already found traces of blood leading to the bedroom, where the victim died. The house had big windows on the side without curtains, so they could clearly see outside, including the neighbors. "How did he even walk all the way here? Was he already stabbed?" Ara asked with a confused look. The victim was in front of the bedroom door, so he was probably entering the room and dying after.
Noah kept looking at his surroundings, feeling anxious. "There's something here. It's bothering me," he muttered and looked at the group. "D-Don't worry about me!"
They heard footsteps of people coming in. Add went out of the room to check it out, since this timeline was considered unsafe.
"Eve didn't give extra notes to you guys," Rose said, feeling concerned that something might have happened. So far, there was nothing much going on.
"Don't worry, pretend we're not here! Carry on," Elesis smiled and told Add to go back to the crime scene.
Add sighed heavily and stared at them. "Let me guess, you guys are always assigned as two people. Now that we're all here, some of us need our partners."
Elesis' eyes sparkled and clapped her hands. "You're correct! You're talented, Add!"
Add looked at the newbie group, who were already trying to solve the case based on the crime scene. They didn't even notice Elesis and Rose came. He looked back at Elesis, who was still looking at him with sparkly eyes. "Sorry to disturb your day off. Give me a list. I'll tell them later."
Rose gave them the list of two people that should stick together most of the time. They didn't have to do it all the time, but since police were everywhere, they might be accused of impostors and got taken into custody for stupid reasons.
Elsword and Aisha, but luckily they didn't get swapped.
Rena and Noah, although it might be obvious that Noah looked way different. In this case, Noah could act like the little brother of Celestia–the real Noah from this timeline.
Raven and Rose, but only Raven was swapped. Rose would still need to give more info to Raven later.
Chung didn't have a partner yet and mostly stayed with Eve, but luckily none of them were swapped.
Ara and Laby, but they weren't together all the time. They were only together when a crime was happening and not the aftermath.
Elesis and Add, which could be resolved the same way like Rena and Noah. Add looked like a child anyway.
Lu, Ciel and Ain, who were already from this timeline.
"I believe you got that memorized?" Rose smiled and checked her phone for new messages. There wasn't any new info from Eve, so that was all for now. She let them investigate the case for more.
Add nodded his head and went back to the group. They've been a bit quiet now, he was a bit afraid that something happened.
But it was just Raven talking. "We saw the trail of blood outside. If the wife was sleeping here, then her husband came home, and suddenly fell… Yes, it will make her look like a murderer."
"So you're claiming he was stabbed outside? How did he not even notice he got stabbed then?" Ara asked with a confused look. She's wondering if she was too stupid for this or she just lacked information.
"Eve said the poison can be a medicine if used with correct dosage," Raven replied and grabbed a medical bill from the bed table. It clearly had Poidaughter on the list. "I'm just wondering if this thing is causing a major side effect, like numbing."
"Add, you're here! What do you think?" Rena asked, waiting for Add's input. She knew Add got the brain to think for an investigation, so while Raven's theory sounded possible without evidence, she still wanted to know what he was thinking about.
"Whose blood is it anyway in the living room?" Add asked back and looked away from the group. He walked out again to face Elesis and Rose. "Do you guys have anything to check the blood? The file didn't give us a lot of info."
"Ah… Well… Police's job is just guarding here after checking through everything," Elesis smiled slightly and took out a device that looked like a bar scanner. "Add–Doom Bringer usually does this for me. Can't you do it with your Dynamo?" She asked as she scanned the blood in the living room with her device from Eve. She walked to the bedroom and checked the blood too.
The two bloods were different. The blood on the bedroom belonged to the victim. Elesis checked the blood sample of related people to see which one was a match for the other blood. The blood trail in the living room belonged to… no one. "Huh? We might have a third party here," Elesis said with a serious look and looked around the house.
"The blood trail stopped here, though," Rose thought about it and opened her bag.
"Do you have blood detection? It's called… luminol," Add asked while he waited for Rose to grab whatever she was searching for on her bag.
"Yeah, luminol test," Rose nodded her head and took out a luminol spray. She sighed and looked out the window. There were no curtains for some reason. "This room is too bright–"
Crack!
Then suddenly everything around them stopped. They didn't even hear the group discussing the case anymore. Outside the house was a dark space with magenta glass pieces. "Is this dark enough?" Add asked with a straight face.
"Well… yes," Rose replied awkwardly and started spraying the floor. There was a light blue glow that showed more trails. They followed it and kept spraying until it stopped at the storage room. But there was nothing there.
Crash!
The time continued like nothing happened. "You said the police checked this place. How much did they check?" Add asked again while looking around the storage room. There was definitely a lot of stuff to be checked.
"Just whatever they could see," Elesis answered with an awkward smile. "They don't sound that helpful, huh?"
"Oh, are you curious about what we're doing?" Rose asked the person who approached them just now, Noah.
Noah stayed silent and entered the room. He felt uncomfortable, feeling like he wanted to cry when he saw nothing wrong with everyone. He casted his healing skill, but of course, nothing changed. "I've been feeling uneasy ever since we came here. I sense someone is hurt, but I don't know who."
"This is a crime scene. I get what you mean," Elesis smiled sadly and patted Noah's head. Crime scene was never a good place to stay, after all.
Add remained silent. Whenever they play with an Ouija board or Jelangkung, Noah tended to heal the ghost, even though they're already dead. He healed this room just now, so probably… there was a ghost.
Or a corpse somewhere.
Add started pushing the shelves to check the place. "Tampering with crime scenes, I see. What are you searching for?" Rose asked calmly and helped Add, since he couldn't even push one shelf. Noah didn't know what Add was thinking, but he helped too.
They found something that looked slightly off on the floor. Upon inspection, it was a way to the basement. They opened the door and smelled something rotten, like an animal bleeding to death. Inside the basement, they found a corpse of a woman that looked exactly like the wife. Her head was crooked from being hanged and there was dried blood below her. Moreover, there was a pentagram made with blood on the floor with five candles on each corner.
Add grabbed Noah's hand and walked outside. They may have seen a lot of deaths in their timeline, but this one was something… satanic, which was something that Add didn't want to get involved with. He used his Dynamo to call a certain ruler on this timeline. "Eve, we're backing off. This isn't just a murder of a husband."
The newbie group went back to Eve's office. Elesis and Add stayed to investigate the basement for more, even though Add was trying to run away. Rose and Raven went to the prison to interrogate the suspect, since she certainly sounded like a suspect now.
"Hm… I see. That's the wife in the basement, no? I certainly expected something really bad," Eve chuckled and looked at the group. While the others seemed fine, Noah looked really pale. He didn't even eat his snacks anymore and just moved his fingers around, making glass tick sounds. "Is it your first time seeing a corpse, Noah?" Eve uttered the question.
The nervous kid got startled and faced Eve. "I-It's… something that I heard of. In my timeline, it's usually used to summon something, like a demon or mythical creatures. Sometimes they would possess the summoner."
Eve nodded her head and showed a lot of screens from her drone. She didn't study enough in satanic rituals, so she needed more information. If the ritual was the same as Noah said, then where would the summoned being be? "Add is afraid of ghosts. Hopefully he doesn't get possessed there…" Noah muttered and clinked his fingers. He could heal people, but he couldn't exorcize demons. It's different.
Eve nodded her head. "You have a unique sixth sense. Thanks to you, we found her. She can get a proper burial soon," she smiled and kneeled down to pat Noah's head. "It's emotionally painful, but you did a great job. Well done."
"So… what will happen to this case?" Ara asked with a concerned look. She did ask for a job for a change of pace. But she didn't expect to go this far.
"We'll take care from here. Good work," Eve clapped her hands for them.
Click!
"Laby has arrived!" Laby smiled and waved her hands at them. "Lunch time with Laby? There's a good place near here!"
"Oh, yes please! I want that gado-gado!" Rena shouted with sparkled eyes. Ara was confused with that name, but she will follow them.
Eve chuckled and reached the door outside. "Take care of them, Laby. I need to see this crime scene myself," she smiled creepily before going out. She gestured at Chung, telling the intern to come along too. The two of them went on their way to the crime scene.
"It's unusual for you to come along too," Chung said and looked at Eve, who seemed enthusiastic to do an investigation. She usually stayed in her office to take care of paperworks.
"It's the other way around. You could always go home. It's your day off," Eve replied and looked at Chung, who didn't seem to be bothered to work. "Then watch and learn. I'll show you what to do in an investigation. And… pressuring suspects emotionally in an interrogation."
i'm too stupid for this
