(A/N): Hey Guys! So, I was getting bored, and I decided to write another chapter. This is what you get when I'm bored guys. Plot twists.

Disclaimer: I own nothing you recognise.

Elaine

As I entered the girls dormitory after dinner to drop off my book bag, I happened to catch sight of an owl the colour of pitch perched on the windowsill by my bed.

Out of curiosity, I set down my bag at the end of my bed before crossing to retrieve the letter from the bird.

Peeling apart the plain, circular wax seal, I unfolded the letter and started to read.

My Dearest Daughter,

Leo

The Marauder boys, Lily and I were all waiting at the foot of the stairs to the girls dormitories for Elaine to drop off her bag of books, the rest of us having done it just after class had ended.

Ten minutes past, and we were starting to get a little worried.

"I'll check on her." Lily volunteered, even though no one else could get up the stairs, not without causing a scene anyway.

Half a minute later, she half-ran, half-stumbled down the stairs, a panicked look on her face.

"What's wrong?" Sirius asked, jumping up from his position on the floor, and Lily shook her head.

"I don't know! She's crying and won't talk to me-" I looked to Remus and he nodded, quickly moving to grab Lily's shoulders.

"Come on, we have something we think will help." He said, narrowing his eyes at the other Marauders, causing them to nod quickly, going with it as they helped to lead her away.

Sparing no time and deducing that the common room was currently otherwise empty, I took a deep breath and took a short run up to the stairs.

My feet reached one wall, kicking off and bouncing off the opposite wall, and I braced myself with my hands against the old bricks, quickly clambering to the top of the staircase.

Quickly slipping through the door to the dormitory, I saw her, crouched on the floor, arms wrapped around herself, and I heard her quiet sobbing.

"Elaine?" Her head shot up, and as she turned to look at me, I saw the crumpled up piece of parchment clenched in her fingers. "Elaine!" I exclaimed, using vampire speed to reach her side and bundling her up in my arms. "What's wrong?" She shook her head, clearly not able to talk, and I pried the letter from her hand.

Flattening it out, I tucked her under my arm as I read.

My Dearest Daughter,

I know it has been many years since we last saw each other or spoke properly, and I wanted to check in on you.

Your mother won't see me, and your brother isn't replying to any of my owls, and you, my darling daughter, my little lion cub, are at Hogwarts.

I hope you're keeping out of trouble, staying away from boys and the like.

All I ever wanted was to protect you.

From the second they first handed you to me in the hospital, I knew I had to be the one to protect you, to teach you about all the bad things in the world, and warn you against them.

Don't you see?

Everything I did, it was for you.

To teach you, to protect you.

My darling daughter, I love you, more than you will ever know.

Which is why, why I'm coming back to see you just as soon as I can.

I need to make sure you're okay, and that you still remember everything I taught you.

But this time, you need to protect yourself, my cub.

And you best hope you can.

Your father,

Tarea Hugar

(A/N): Yes, Tarea is Elaine's father. And Hugar is his last name. Folley is Elaine's mother's maiden name, and after she left Tarea, she changed it back, so Jay and Elaine both go by it.

I hope you liked this chapter. :D
