A quiet study session.
A fight.
An empty room.
All things I expected to find when I entered the Room of Requirement.
One of my best friends getting to snogging my cousin, however, was not one of these things.
"What the fucking fuck?!" Was the first thing out of my mouth, naturally.
And then, finally noticing not only Remus's state of undress, but Elaine's, my eyes flew to the ceiling.
"I hate you both. So, so much." I muttered as I heard them scrambling for clothes, and Remus scoffed.
"We've walked in on Sirius doing worse." I growled at this.
"Not much worse, and not with my cousin!" I exclaimed, and now it was Elaine's turn to scoff.
"He's so protective, even though he knows I had every bit of a choice in the matter." She said, rolling her eyes clearly evident by her tone. "You can look now James."
Gingerly, I lowered my gaze, relieved to find them fully dressed.
"Thank Merlin." I switched tactics. "Elaine, what will Leo think?" She snarled at me, crossing her arms over her chest.
"Leo can fuck himself for all I care on the matter." And then, I raised an eyebrow.
"Yeah, but I'm sure Remus doesn't want to just a means to get revenge on Leo after having a crush on you for two years."
And with that stunned silence, I left the room.

This chapter has had minor edits made to it on 31/12/22 - Also, Remus's crush is what I was hinting at in the authors note on chapter 200 (Make It Through the Night), and is the reason why Remus didn't want to hear more about what Leo and Elaine had gotten up to while alone in the dorm room after the full moon.
