Fanboy and Chum Chum seem to be able to make fun out of anything, with all their jokes, games, and random adventures, it's rare for them to ever be bored. But alas, this was one of those rare moments, and so the two were wandering around Galaxy Hills pretty aimlessly.
"Ugh, there's really nothing to do today!" Fanboy said. "Yah, it's so boring.." Chum Chum agreed, though just talking about being bored wasn't making them any less so he added "Maybe we should just go back to the Fanlair and read some comics."
"Yeah, we might as well-" Fanboy began, but basically interrupted himself when he noticed an alternate option, "Chum Chum, look!" he pointed across the street from them, towards an arcade neither of them had ever seen before. "Woah, a new arcade!" "Yeah, let's go play!" the two immediately ran inside, and started looking around at all the games - Chimp Chomp, Invaders, Man-arctica the game, and more.
They started playing-and almost immediately losing-practically every game in sight, swapping between them very quickly. In a matter of minutes they were down to their last quarter, "Okay, we need to pick our last game carefully.." Fanboy said, and Chum Chum agreed, so the two looked over each game thinking hard on which would be worthy of their last quarter..Eventually they noticed, way in the back of the building, a game they had somehow missed during their rapid playing of literally every other game in the arcade. Chimp Chompious.
The machine was pristine, to the point it seemed noone else had ever had the honor of playing it before. The designs decorating the machine were so colorful and fun, really making it stand out from the other games. Though the screen itself already did a good enough job at that, as it was so bright they were surprised they hadn't caught sight of the game earlier from the glow alone-But they certainly didn't question it.
Immediately they ran over to it in excitement. "I didn't know there even was another Chimp Chomp game!" Chum Chum said, while Fanboy quickly shoved their last quarter into the coin slot. "Me either, it must be new! I can't believe we're gonna be the first to play it!" with the quarter in, the game began, and the screen immediately began flashing all sorts of colors, before Chimp Chomp finally appeared on screen. However..
"Not so fast dweebs, no way I'm letting you play a new Chimp Chomp game before me!" Though the fact he was here at all did catch them by surprise, they didn't even have to turn around to know who said that, nor was it surprising when they were both suddenly bopped over the head, or when Boog knocked them both away from the game and started playing it himself.
"But we got here first! And that was our last quarter!" Fanboy protested though he knew it was pointless, and of course it was, "Oh yah? Well maybe I can pay ya back with a few more bops!" he put his fist up to them, and they quickly backed away. "No need..!" Chum Chum said, pretty quickly giving up on getting to play Chimp Chompious, but Fanboy was still a bit more determined, even if they couldn't play themselves he still wanted to at least see the game. "Can we at least watch you play it?"
Boog took that about how you'd expect, and next thing they knew they were sitting outside the arcade after a mean bopping. "Man, I can't believe Boog stole our game!" Fanboy said while standing up and dusting himself off, Chum Chum doing the same. "Yah..But maybe we could come back sometime while he's working, so he really wouldn't be there to stop us!" Fanboy perked up right away, "Good idea Chum Chum! And since he is here now, we can go hangout at the Frosty Mart without him bopping us!"
Only a moment later they were at the Frosty Mart buying some two Frosty Freezy Freezes, with the price being two dollars. They instead hand over a five dollar bill, though were disappointed when Lenny handed them three dollars in change. "Could you give us our change in quarters instead?" Fanboy said, sliding the dollars back over the counter. Lenny rolled his eyes but counted out three dollars worth of quarters, and handed them over. "Thanks Lenny!"
"Yeah no problem.." Lenny said hoping this would be the end of their interaction, but he knew it wouldn't be. "We need these quarters to play Chimp Chompious, which is this really cool new Chimp Chomp game and-" Lenny interrupted him pretty quickly. "Why don't you just take the quarters and go play it then?" Fanboy still didn't take the hint, though. Neither did Chum Chum, who had just been sipping on his Frosty Freezy Freeze the entire conversation, but he stopped to say "Cause Boog won't let us!"
"Hold on, Boog? Where is this exactly, 'cause he's still yet to come into work today." Lenny wanted to get him both because he was very sick of Boog slacking off all the time, but also due to the fact if Fanboy and Chum Chum were preoccupied playing that game, they'd finally leave Lenny alone-at least for a few hours. "At this cool new arcade we found, we'll show you!" Fanboy said, and before Lenny could even respond the two of them grabbed his hands and started basically dragging him towards the arcade. Once they were outside the Frosty Mart, Lenny pulled his hands away from them, "I can walk myself, thanks." he said sarcastically but that didn't stop Fanboy from saying "You're welcome!" Fanboy and Chum Chum then started running towards the arcade, while Lenny followed a bit behind.
Once Fanboy and Chum Chum reached the arcade they saw Agent Johnson supervising as some other agents wheeled Chimp Chompious out of the arcade, and into a truck. But it didn't end there. They then proceeded to deflate the entire arcade, fold it up and put it into a suitcase. "What the-?!" They both said, and went right over to Agent Johnson. "What's going on?" Fanboy asks, only to hear a "That information is classified." from Agent Johnson, though he did then add "All I will say is we got all the data we needed and so Chimp Chompious and this arcade are no longer needed."
"What? Is there anywhere else we can play Chimp Chompious?!" Fanboy asked, really really hoping there was. But, of course "No, this is the only machine." Now with everything loaded up, Agent Johnson got into the truck himself as well as the other agents, and they drove off. "Can you at least let us play it!" Fanboy called after them, but there was no response as the truck drove out of view. However Lenny had finally caught up with them, and was confused at the sight of the empty lot. "So where's the arcade?" , "Agent Johnson came with some other agents and took it away for some reason." Chum Chum explained, "They put it into a little suitcase and everything!"
Lenny doesn't even bother. He just starts walking back to the Frosty Mart, saying something about how they're wasting his time, but they weren't really listening. "I wonder what they were using Chimp Chompious for.." Chum Chum said, and Fanboy added "And right when we got more quarters, too!" Chum Chum was still pretty confused about the whole situation and what the FBI would possibly be using some fake arcade and Chimp Chomp game for, but Fanboy's priorities remained somewhere else entirely. "I can't believe we're never gonna get to play it!"
A/N: I actually originally wrote this in November, when I had been learning a lot about Polybius, however that version was total nonsense as I was working on FBACC stories late at night, and after a point was just too tired to write anything coherent so decided to just write that original Chimp Chompious story for fun and as a joke. Today I decided to rework it into an actual story, though, so I hope you enjoyed it! c:
