Jacob's POV
"Oh, I can't believe how big Halle's getting!" Alice said in awe as we were all Face Timing on Bella's phone seeing Jane with her daughter already eighteen months old.
I'll say, it's surprising how big the kid is in short time. Maybe it's because she got her dad's genes when it comes to height. I've seen kids with athletes for a dad and for girls, they could be like five foot and ten inches or so when they reach high school.
"Hey where's Seth?" Edward asked Jane when she sat Halle down.
"Oh, he's changing Foster's diaper." Jane answered.
"And I'm done." We heard Seth say as he appeared and was wiping his face with a white towel. "Fun fact; did you know baby boys can pee straight up in the air?" He asked causing most of us to snicker at what happened to him.
"Grown up boys too!" Emmett said as he faced me raising his hand up with a face that said, "Hell yeah."
"Why would we high five that?" I asked in a "What the hell are you doing?" That caused everyone else to laugh while Emmett had an awkward moment as he slowly put his hand down.
"So you guys doing okay?" Victoria asked Jane and Seth.
"Yeah," Jane smiled, but then she frowned. "Except for when the one time when we went grocery shopping, the lady at the checkout asked me when I was due."
"Oh, but you handled it well." Seth smiled to her as he rubbed Jane's shoulder. Then he looked at us and his expression changed as he shook his head mouthing, "No she did not," causing me to stifle my laugh. I mean, you know what happens when you piss off Jane. I don't get how she's that scary for someone so tiny. And I thought shorty over here was the scariest.
"Well hey, if you guys need help, Emmett and I can fly over this weekend." Rosalie offered as Emmett nodded his head in agreement. "I'm doing a photoshoot in Philly and we're planning to take the kids on vacation there, so we can stop by and give you guys a hand."
"Oh that's nice of you, Rose, but we want to use as much time as we can as a family before Seth gets back to training camp for the summer while I'm taking a break as a lawyer." Jane said in appreciation.
"Well we're here for you guys if you need anything." Bella said.
"Thanks Bella, love you guys." Seth said as Jane said the same.
"Bye." We all said before the call ended.
"Man," Emmett said. "Seeing those guys all together really has my biological clock ticking like crazy."
Jasper gave him a weird look and I completely understand why. "Men don't have –"
"I do!" Emmett said causing me to shake my head. Jeez, I just don't get this guy one bit. Either he's a child who's a big idiot, or he's got some weird thing going since he knocked-up blondie twice.
"And you all complained about me and my sex drive." Victoria chuckled.
"That's because we don't discuss about things that are way passed TMI." Jasper said as he was rubbing the temples of his head.
"What? You know I got a high –"
"Okay, that's enough!" Rosalie said when she quickly covered Victoria's mouth as we all laughed. That's the one thing I'm grateful for from blondie.
We're hanging out at Edward and Bella's home in L.A. Yeah, they have a second home here while they still reside in Seattle. I mean, Edward's the star quarterback for the Seahawks after all. How awesome is that? But yeah, with his and Bella's career, they really went out to buy another home. I mean it makes sense. They have two kids and they're giving them the life provided to enjoy. This home in L.A. is just for whenever Edward and Bella are here for a visit for any event Bella's attending, like the award shows or after the football season is over.
Right now, Bella and Edward are here while their kids are staying back in Forks with Edward's folks, as they were invited to attend the Oscars. Bella's not nominated since she hasn't been on a film for a while. She has done producing but it was a learning experience for her. But anyways, it's nice to have them here for the week. I miss seeing those two. I mean, Bella's my best friend along with Edward. He's a great guy who loves Bella. But with those two being married and spending time with their kids, their careers, it's hard to get together at some times other than them coming to L.A. during Edward's game to whoop the Rams' ass. Well, got to make the most out of it with them being here for the week.
"Okay, well I got to get going, love." Edward said to Bella. "Renesmee's flight should be coming in soon, so I should be beating the traffic and get to the airport to pick her up."
"Alright, but are you sure you don't want me to come with?" Bella asked.
"It's fine," Edward said, rubbing her back. "You and the girls got a lunch date soon so you don't want to miss that."
Their conversation got my attention. "Wait, Renesmee's coming here?" I asked. Hearing her name, really lights things up. I haven't seen Edward's sister in a long time. Not since Edward won a Super Bowl. I always love that kid. She's so sweet and adorable and not to mention she's got quite the energy. She's like a mini Alice minus the obsession of throwing parties and shopping. Every time whenever we get to meet, Renesmee was always looking forward to see me and I was happy to see her. There was just something special about Renesmee that has me wrapped around her finger. She's like a little sister to me and I care about her.
"Yeah, she got an acceptance to a college here in L.A. I believe it was UCLA." Edward answered to me with a smile. "She's coming here for spring break while she gets a tour of the campus."
"Oh my gosh, no way! I haven't seen Nessie in like five years!" Victoria said excitedly.
"I haven't actually heard from her in awhile actually." Rosalie said. "She's really going to college already? Damn, time really flies."
"I know, we have so much to catch up on! Ooh! I could have her be my model for some designs I'm working! That means more shopping involved! Let's have her join us for lunch when she gets here!" Alice said excitedly causing me to frown. Really?
"You always find a good excuse to go shopping, darling." Jasper sighed as he shook his head.
"Well while Edward go picks up his sis, let's us guys go to the mall and buy her a souvenir as a welcome gift!" Emmett said happily to me and Jasper. "Let's get her a big teddy bear."
I nodded my head. That's when the front door opened causing us to turn. What I saw, made my eyes bulged so wide, gaping at the sight.
And a bra. I thought without even thinking when a young girl came in and tossed her bag and luggage she brought in aside. I mean this girl is immensely beautiful, I was blown away from her looks. That curly hair color of reddish brown, cheekbones, perfect eyebrows, straight nose, strong jawline, and full lips, along with flawless skin showing off on her slim body, it was hard not to take my eyes off her.
"Edward!" The girl said as she happily jumped into Edward's arms. Surprisingly, he didn't reacted weirdly being hugged by a stranger.
"Hey Ness!" Edward exclaimed he caught her for a hug. "What are you doing here? Mom said I was supposed to pick you up at the airport?"
"Well I got excused from school a day early when there was a seat offering from the flight, so they bumped me up a flight early." She smiled as she was sat down.
Wait a minute, that's Nessie?! I thought as I was in complete shock. No way, this can't be her. She's… all grown up! I mean, yes, it's been awhile since I've seen her, but I wasn't thinking it was that long to see her change into a completely different person. Can she really change that much in over five years?
"Geez, mom should've told me that." Edward said.
"She told me she texted you about it." Nessie said. That's when Edward pulled out his phone and then frowned.
"Well now she tells me." He said.
"At least you're here in one piece." Bella smiled.
"Bella!" Nessie exclaimed as she and Bella hugged.
"Gosh, look at you Renesmee, you've grown!" Alice said as she hugged Nessie excitedly.
"And gotten even more beautiful." Rosalie said as she got a turn to hug Nessie.
"Come on, I'm not as beautiful as you even as I get older!" Nessie teased.
"Oh look at you Nessie!" Victoria said as she hugged Nessie and then held her face. "You glow up beautifully and look so yummy looking! I just want to eat you up!" She then kissed Nessie on both cheeks causing Nessie to giggle.
"Nessie bear!" Emmett boomed.
"Emmy bear!" Nessie exclaimed as Emmett swooped in and spun around with Nessie in his arms before he sat her down.
"Damn girl, you've gotten taller!" Emmett said. "You grew what, like, an inch or so?" He teased causing Nessie to giggle.
"I'm over five feet tall and four inches, silly." She said and then held out her hand. "And that's a dollar from you."
Emmett just scoffed. "Nice try, but you're old enough to be cussing. I'm already owing money to my kids." He said.
"Oh well, I tried." Nessie shrugged. "Jasper!"
"What's up, buttercup?" Jasper smiled.
"Permission to hug, general?" Nessie teased.
"Permission granted, cadet!" Jasper said playfully as he hugged Nessie. When they let go, Nessie looked around until she saw me and there was something in her eyes when she smiled big causing my heart to do a backflip.
"Jake, it's been so long!" She said as she came over and hugged me, which completely caught me off guard.
"S-So long. So long." It was all I could say as I slowly wrapped my arms around her. Normally, every I get a hug from Nessie, it was just a friendly and caring hug. But now, it felt… warm… and my heart was racing so fast suddenly. For a moment, everything around me, time just.. stopped. Like time was frozen. No one was around except for me and her. Why is this happening? Why am I feeling this way? This never happened before whenever I hugged Nessie and yet, I felt the urge to hold this girl in my arms a little longer. Much… longer.
"So Nessie," Alice spoken, breaking the moment suddenly. "Since you're already here, why don't you join us for lunch?"
Nessie pulled away from me. "I would love that." She smiled. "It's been awhile since I've seen you guys."
"Well come on girl," Victoria said, grabbing Nessie's hand. "Our ride's waiting and so is our reservation for a girl's lunch date!"
"What about the guys?" Nessie asked in confusion.
"Oh they're gonna watch the kids and talk guy stuff. Especially with your brother's football career." Rosalie said, playfully rolling her eyes.
"Oh." Nessie said as she was dragged away out the door with the girls, but not before she turned her head and smiled until the door was shut.
"Man, how did we get stuck with babysitting?" Emmett groaned.
"You try taking care of my wife and kid." Jasper responded.
"And I'm lucky that my kids are with my parents and in-laws back in Forks." Edward chuckled, patting Emmett's back while I just stood there, staring where Renesmee took off.
What is wrong with me here? What is with me? What is up with this? I don't know what's going on except that ever since I saw Renesmee for the first time in a while, things have felt different. Not between her and I because I haven't seen her since the last two days with her being with Edward and Bella as they accompanied her to college for the tour. But still, something felt different since I saw her. I barely spoke to her. Usually, I can speak to her just fine before. We can talk about anything. Now, I felt like I wasn't able to get the words out of my mouth or form any sentences. Like what was that about?
And what's more is this feeling inside of me. My heart was racing and doing backflips, not just when she hugged me, but when Nessie saw me and smiled. That beautiful smile I remember seeing when she was a kid. She's not a kid anymore, Nessie's a woman. A beautiful… woman.

No way! It can't be, can it? Whoa, back up a second here. There's no way that is what's going on. I just went through another breakup last year and I decided for now is to focus on myself; just working out at the gym and do my work in acting. After the last few breakups, I felt like I had enough for now, especially from that singer who tried to write off a hit song about me. If it weren't for everyone for having my back and clarifying to the world what really went down with Lucy, I would've ended up being the bad boy no parents want their daughters dating. I'm surprised how I'm still on good terms with my dad's close friend and former costar from Jump Force, Alec Meyers ,with how things ended between me and Lizzie. I still care about her but she's really a piece of work with how she's been taking things in her hands during our relationship. She claims nothing was wrong, but I did.
But anyways, I don't think that has anything to do with why I am feeling this way. I have no problem being the single person in the group while everyone I know is now married with kids. Even Victoria has dated more women than me. And Charlie found new love with Seth's mom. So do I feel lonely? Absolutely not.
Besides, this is Edward's sister we're talking about. It's wrong to think about it that way. Not to mention weird.

That is weird, right? It's weird of the idea of dating your friend's sister. The idea of thinking about Nessie all grown up, so beautiful… with that long bronze hair, those beautiful eyes, having a sweet voice, that beautiful face, with a beautiful body – fuck!
Next thing I was doing, I was banging my head on the refrigerator door.
"Banging your head on it, won't make food appear. That's what Jennifer's here for." I stopped and turned my head to see my dad, Billy, wheeling his way into our kitchen as he was chuckling.
Yes, our kitchen. I live my dad. Is that a problem for me living with my dad in my late twenties. Not one bit. With both of my sisters out of the house living with their husbands, it's just been me and Billy here since my mom died. There's Jennifer, our housekeeper. She's our neighbor and keeps our place in tip top shape while assisting Billy of any medical needs. Plus, she meal preps for us since Billy and I suck at cooking and Jennifer is an top tier chef in the kitchen. Although Esme's is just as good, if not, better.
But anyways, I have no problem living with my dad. I enjoy his company. I always looked up to him as a kid and he's why I wanted to be an actor like him. Billy was there for me even when he became disabled and was bounded in a wheelchair. It didn't bother me that I had to take care of him. He's always there for me when I needed him and I wanted to do the same for him. That's another reason Lizzie wasn't able to understand when she wouldn't agree that I can't leave my dad or she would even live with us.
I just sighed as I gently close the refrigerator door.
"Is everything okay, Jacob?" Billy asked with concern.
I sighed again, not even looking at him. "It's… complicated." I answered. I heard the sounded of Billy's wheelchair moving forward. He ushered me to move aside as he opened the refrigerator and pulled out two beer bottles of Coors Light.
"Men don't just keep things bottled up inside, son." Billy said as opened both bottles and handed one to me. "What's on your mind?"
I just stared at the bottle in my hands and wondered how I am going to say this. Well, there's no use beating around the bush, so I might as well rip it off like a band aid.
"Well, you know Edward's sister, Renesmee?" I asked.
"Oh yeah, that cute little gal." Billy smiled as he let out a chuckle. "Such a sweet little firecracker. Haven't seen her in years. What about her?"
I took a deep breath and let it out. "I… I think I'm in love with her."
There was silence and I lifted my head up to see my dad with a stunned expression on his face as he was paused midway when he was about to take a sip of his beer.
"Oh boy." He finally said.
"I'm going crazy, dad." I admitted.
"Oh boy." Billy said with a nervous look on his face as he lowered his beer.
"I don't know what to do." I said.
"Ohhh boy!" Billy said, running his hand through his hair.
"Dad, would you please say anything else?" I asked. This is not the time for him to use his catchphrase he always says in Jump Force.
"I'm trying!" Billy said in frustration as he sat his bottle down on the table before taking a deep breath. "Are you sure that's how you feel?" He asked me.
"She's all I've been thinking about lately since she came here two days ago." I answered.
"Are you drunk already?" Billy asked to be sure.
"Dad, I barely took a sip of this." I said as I gave one big gulp of my beer. Now, my dad seems to be struggling.
"How old is Renesmee now?" Billy asked, nervously.
And this is where I was dreading the most.
"She's… seventeen." I said, not making eye contact with him.
"God dammit, Jacob!" Billy said. "You're really are out of your mind! I mean, are you crazy?! This girl is probably still in high school." He pointed out.
"Actually, she'll be eighteen and is graduating this year." I corrected, even though it wasn't going to make much of a difference.
"Still, she's younger than you by like a decade." Billy stated. "Not to mention, that's Edward's sister you're talking about."
"Yeah, I know, thanks for pointing out the obvious." I said sarcastically as I took another sip. "Dad, knowing she's too young for me, I'm aware of since I know what's at stake if I were to actually pursue a relationship with Renesmee. But that's not the only problem." Billy looked at me in confusion and I went on.
"I know it's wrong for me to think that way. She's younger than me and she's Edward's sister. Edward is my best friend who I treated like a brother the same way I treated Bella. Doing this to him would be crossing so many lines."
"Then what's the problem?" Billy asked.
"I know that it's wrong, and yet… I can't stop thinking about her." I said as I ran a hand through my hair. "I don't know why, but this feels… different. I'm not sure how to describe it, but there's something special about Renesmee. It was like this before when she was a kid but it's different now. She makes me feel like how I felt with Lizzie and all the other girls I dated, except it's more. I wanted to push those feelings aside, but the more I do, the more I think about Renesmee and now I'm questioning everything how I feel about her and how this could affect us."
My dad just sat there and listened until he sighed deeply.
"Geez Jacob, I'm not sure what to tell ya," He said. "You know I've always supported you on choices with your life such as your career, and that includes who you want to date. There are those I question about just like when Charlie married Renee and I question if he had a mental problem. But I stuck it to him until thank god he finally divorced her. My point is, it's your life who you want to be with. And if that includes being with Renesmee, then I support you. But I will tell you to be careful what you're doing. And I'm not talking about scaring the girl, I'm talking about if people find out of you pursuing after a girl who is not of age yet."
"I'll try my best dad." I said. "For all I know, she probably has a boyfriend already." The thought kind of made my stomach feel uneasy but I tried to brush it aside. I turned around and was about to walk out but stopped and reached over for my beer. "And I appreciated it." I added before leaving the kitchen and took a step outside to enjoy the sun while drinking.
The next day has been quiet and I haven't seen nor heard from Renesmee since she came. I know she's probably with Edward and Bella right now for her college tour so I figured I let it be. I don't want to make things obvious if I were to tag along.
I was at the gym, finishing lifting weights. I went to grab a towel and wipe off the sweat and looked at myself in the mirror. I'm not looking at myself just because I'm ready to showoff like those meatheads or gym rats, or anything like that. I just like to go to the gym every day because I like to stay in shape so that I don't die. I'm not one of those people who post a shirtless selfie on Instagram of me in the gym. I'm not a tool bag. Well, I'm pretty sure I'm not is what I believed.
I was drinking my water when my phone vibrated and I pulled it out of my pocket to see Bella calling me.
"Hey Bells, what's up?" I answered.
"Hi Jacob, Edward and I are at UCLA waiting on Renesmee as she's almost done with the tour." Bella answered.
"Cool, does she like it there?" I asked, taking another sip of my water bottle.
"I don't know," Bella said. "She's been messaging me and Edward while she was there. I'm sure she'll tells us all about it. It's going to be different hearing how the school is like, being there that doesn't involve sports." She sniggered.
"I beg to differ, love." I heard Edward say in the background causing me to let out a laugh.
"Anyway," Bella continued. "We're about to have lunch soon and I was calling you and the others to join us."
"Sure, I could eat." I said as I was grabbing my things and headed towards the locker room. "I just finished my workout so I'll meet you guys there."
"I'll text you the place. See you then." Bella said and I said goodbye to her before she hung up. Thankfully, I had some clothes with me to change because I was planning to grab a bite after workout so this worked out perfectly.
After taking a shower, I got into my change of clothes and grabbed my belongings before heading out and leaving the gym. I found my car and threw my bag into the trunk before getting in and turned on some music before hitting the roads. The place Bella gave me was only a twenty minutes or so ride as I arrived. There, I saw Edward, Bella and Renesmee at a table outside the restaurant.
"Hey guys," I greeted them. "Hope I didn't keep you guys waiting."
"Not at all, we were just getting ready to order." Bella smiled.
"Glad you could make it, Jacob." Edward greeted me as we shook hands.
"Yes, so happy for you to join us." Renesmee said to me with a big smile on her face causing my heart to do backflips again. Easy man, it's just lunch with the friends. I thought.
"It's my pleasure." I smiled to her and then looked at our table. "Where are the others? I thought you said you were gonna call them, Bells."
"Oh," Bella said with an unfortunate look on her face. "The others won't make it. Rosalie came down with a bad bug so Emmett's looking after her and Lilly. Jasper got the pink eye and Alice had to deal with an emergency when she got a call from one of the fashion designers. And Victoria… yeah, don't ask what I had to hear when she picked up." She shuddered.
"Oh." That was all I could say. Crap, I was expecting to be with my friends along with Renesmee so that things won't be difficult and awkward if I'm around her. But now that it is only going to be the four of us, this is going to be even more of a challenge. Well, I mean, it's just lunch with Bella, Edward and Renesmee. I'm sure we're just going to be chatting about her and to see how she's doing. After this, I can just go home. So, this won't be a major problem.
I hope.
"Can we order now? I'm starving! The food they provided at the tour was hardly nourishable." Renesmee complained causing the rest of us to chuckle.
"Yeah, yeah, grab a menu and find a meal to your liking." Edward said as we took a moment to look at the menu and find what to order.
"So uh Renesmee," I started after our order was made. "How was the tour at UCLA? You like it there?"
Renesmee turned to me with a big smile on her face. "Oh yes, I like it!" She said. "It's a beautiful place and it does have many great fields of studies."
"Not to mention a good football field where your big brother enjoys kicking the Bruins ass back in the college days." Edward smirked causing me to snicker while Bella and Renesmee rolled their eyes.
"Are you trying to show off about something?" Bella asked him.
"What? I'm not allowed to express the truth?" Edward chuckled.
"You really are one cocky quarterback." Bella said.
"Only if I don't back it up, which I have numerous time." Edward grinned earning playful smack on the shoulder from Bella as I chuckled.
"So what are you planning to study?" I asked Renesmee.
"Oh, I'm going to major in sports nutrition while minoring in dietetics." Renesmee answered.
"And she still plans to do some cheerleading." Bella added. Fuck! I forgot that Renesmee used to be on the junior squad as a kid. The thought of her now in a cheerleader's uniform got my mind reeling, but then I realized that would also mean she would've gotten some attention from all the boys. That there, made my stomach turn if she has dated any of them, but my blood was also boiling if any of them were more interested in what Renesmee wears underneath than Renesmee herself.
"Not happening." Edward stated with a frown. You and me both, Edward. I thought. "She'd probably be too busy with all her studies." That caused Bella and Renesmee to roll their eyes again.
"Oh please big bro," Renesmee said. "I took a few courses in running start. I'll be almost a sophomore when I start next fall."
Damn, she's that smart. I thought, being really amazed about this girl. Oh wait, what the hell am I thinking? I thought shaking my head. Thankfully, no one notices.
"This was your last school to visit. Have you decided on which school to attend?" Bella asked Renesmee causing me to curious about it.
Renesmee was in deep thought. "I don't know to be honest." She said. "I'm leaning between here or UW. Both have good programs, and even I were to attend to either of them, I'd be close to home with Edward and Bella or even with Jake and the others." That caused my heart to do backflips again. Chill man, she meant just being close to you and the others if she were to live off campus. Nothing else. "But it's really hard to choose. Edward made it so easy when he made the announcement where he was going."
"That's because it was sports I was offered." Edward admitted. "And it was my decision to go there."
Renesmee just sighed.
"Hey, there's no need to rush." I said to her. "You got time to decide where you want to go. And when you do, we can help out with the living arrangements." I assured her with a smile.
Renesmee looked up at me with that same smile on her face. "Thanks Jake, I do appreciate it." She said as I held that smile to her. It wasn't long until our food came and the waiters delivered it to our table. While Edward got his steaks with fries along with a salad and Bella ordered salmon with salad as well, I got myself a double bacon cheese burger with fries and a salad of course. But what I saw the waiters give to Renesmee was not one, but two plates causing me to do a double-take.
"Uh, did they mistook your order with some extras?" I asked with uncertainty seeing the chicken with corn on the side along with some salad and steak and rice with eggs. And a milkshake! Surely she couldn't eat all of that. I'm not trying to judge based on her figure, but still.
"Oh no, this is all for me." Renesmee smiled causing me to be taken aback. What?! "I'll need every last grain of rice. I've been dedicated going to the gym since entering high school and with it comes to calculating what I eat. The chicken and eggs helps with fatigue. Weight control's important getting into fitness, but we also need to make sure we've got energy and stamina too. So high protein, low-fat is usually what we go for. We also need iron to maintain stamina, and vitamin B for energy."
I just sat there, not sure how to respond. Okay, I didn't understand any of that, and I go to the gym myself on a daily basis. I just take my pre-workout, stay hydrated, gets some protein afterwards along with a meal, and I turned out just fine.
"Why are you so skeptical, Jake?" Renesmee asked, but then laughed it off. "I guess it might look like a lot, but this is actually less than my usual." Less than?! "It's okay, I've done the math. I did a little workout before lunch and I'll burn all this off when we get home using Edward's gym."
"All you did today was walk around at campus." Edward said with a raised eyebrow.
"What I really want to know is how is it she can eat whatever she wants and still stays thin." Bella huffed as she starts cutting her fish. "I've been trying to regain my figure after giving birth to Zach and Evelyn."
"You look great to me as always, love." Edward said to her, reaching out for her hand.
"You could workout with me." Renesmee suggested. Bella just frowned. "Sorry, I didn't think that one through." She said, causing me to snicker earning a rolled up napkin thrown at my head from Bella.
"I'll stick to yoga and Pilates, thanks." Bella said as we ate our lunch. Thankfully, there was no awkwardness for me being around Renesmee. It was just casual talk and nothing to make me lose my train of thoughts. I was surprised though that by the time I finished my lunch first, Renesmee was done the same time as me. Damn, and I thought Seth was the big eater. How fast does she eat?!
Once we were all done and the bill was paid (Bella and Edward always argue over who gets to pay), it was time to go.
"Hey Jacob, you want to come over right now?" Edward asked. "I'd figure we go over most topics that's been going on in the off season before our next episode of the podcast."
Yeah, Edward and I do a podcast together called Under Pressure. We do this every year once the NFL season is over for Edward, first talk about how the season went for him and everyone, talk about any news that comes up, and sometimes we bring in guests to interview with celebrities who are sport fans and athletes, not just football players but basketball, baseball, hockey, even women athletes to give on their take. Our podcast has been a big hit over the last three years since we started it. Sometimes, we do this while on Zoom meetings but mostly I fly over back in Seattle and stay with Edward's family and we can do our recording there. It's fun talking about sports with people.
"Sure, I got nothing else to do, let's head over there." I said, happily.
Just then, Edward's phone rang when we all got up.
"Excuse me," He said, pulling it out. "Hello?" He answered. "Oh hey, Drew, what's up?" He asked. "Oh, right now?" Edward was surprised and was hesitant.
"What is it, Edward?" Bella asked.
"My agent, he said John and coach wants to talk over about my current contract." Edward explained.
"Right now?" Bella asked.
Edward just shrugged. "I'm sure they just want to talk about reconstructing it to help with the salary cap. We are a bit tight this season." He said. Yeah, I saw those numbers. And they're nearly close to the negative. "Let me just go somewhere private for a moment and get on Zoom with them real quick. Be right back." He gave Bella a quick kiss before he walked away, still on the phone. That's when Bella's phone rang.
"Hey Reyna, talk to me." She answered. "I supposed I could spare a few minutes since my husband had to deal with football stuff. Long story." Bella turned to us. "Sorry guys, I need to take this. If Edward asks, I'll be back." And with that, Bella got up and walked away as she talked to her manager on the phone.
Man, those two sure can be busy when it comes to their careers. Add the kids in their lives and you really got a successful family.
"So Jake," Nessie spoke causing me to turn to her as she sat back down in her seat where we were supposed to leave. "What's new with you? I know I've been hearing from Edward and Bella, and I've been following you on social media, but I want to hear it from you personally." She smiled.
Fuck! I thought when I realized something. With Bella and Edward gone, it's just me and Nessie for the time being. That means I'm going to be dealing with being alone with Nessie without doing anything to show off my feelings to her. Thankfully there's not many people around us and they already saw the four us together when we came here so there's no need to worry of people or even the paparazzi questioning about me and Nessie. But still, how did I get myself in these situations?
"Oh um," I gulped as I sat back down next to her. Man, why am I so nervous? I've been doing good. Other than doing some films and doing the podcast with your brother, my life has been pretty chill."
"No crazy girlfriend trying to make your life hell again I hope." Nessie smirked.
I just gave out a laugh. "Oh don't worry, no girlfriend right now, meaning no shit storm happening to me so far." I said.
"Oh, cool." Nessie said as she twirled her hair with one hand as she looks out into the streets.
"Um, and I'm sure the same goes with you having a boyfriend." Jacob, you idiot! Way to keep it subtle! Could've just beat around the bush? I thought, smacking my forehead silently.
"Huh?" Renesmee turned back to me causing me to recompose myself. "Boyfriend? Oh no, I've been to busy with school and working out along with my friends to be dating." She said.
"Oh, that's cool." I said. Part of me was surprised to see that someone around Nessie's age to not have the time for dating while another part of me was pumping fists in the air.
There was silence between us. That's what I was afraid. Awkwardness with the girl I have feelings for. What am I supposed to say to make things not awkward? Why is this so hard for me all of sudden?
"Hey Jake, you know how when I was a kid, I would tell you things, and you wouldn't laugh or make fun of me, just listen and understand?" Nessie asked.
"Uh yeah." I answered.
"Well, can you promise to keep this between us?" I nodded my head. "UW and UCLA are most definitely the ones I've narrowed down to, but my choice to wear I go… depends on you."
That took me by surprise. "What about me?" I asked.
Nessie didn't say anything. She didn't make eye contact as her head was down. I reached over and lifted her face up so she can look at me.
"What?" I asked in concern.
"Jake, I… well, I don't know how to say this, but, um…" Renesmee trailed off. What is she trying to tell me?
"Nessie, tell me. You can tell me anything." I said to her.
"Iloveyou."
I was stunned. No… she didn't… did she? She was too fast for me to hear it, but I heard part of it.
"Um, what did you say?" I asked. There's a part of me that's hoping what she said was true.
"I… said… I'm… in… love… with…you."
At that moment, everything around me just stopped as I was blown away. Everything around me felt like it exploded, but not like how bomb was blown up, it was like confetti falling when popped open. Renesmee is in love with me? Me? For real? I seriously must be dreaming here.
"You are?" I asked.
"Yes, it's just, you were always there for me when I was little kid. You were like another brother to me. Then as I got older, you were one of my best friends, always looking out for me and even listen to my problems. And now, after seeing you again after so long, it felt different." Renesmee said. "It's like… everything around me made sense. I want to see you, Jake. I like you… a lot and I'm afraid of how you'll react because of our friendship and I hate to lose that."
I don't believe this. This whole time while I was fighting the feelings I have for her, Nessie claims to be in love with me as well. This is just… amazing. Unexpected but amazing.
I reached under the table for her hand and held onto you. "Renesmee, I don't know how to tell you this, but I'm in love with you too." I admitted.
Renesmee's eye lit up from my words. "You are?"
"Yeah, I didn't understand it at first since it's a long time, but I how feel for you back then to now, is still the same." I said. "I still care about you, Renesmee and I… I want nothing more than to be with you."
"You mean it?" Nessie asked with that hopeful look in her eyes.
"I do." I smiled but then looked around. "But you know that I'm older than you right? Not to mention you're only seventeen."
Nessie just rolled her eyes. "You think I wasn't aware of that, Jake? I don't want to make headlines with you in the slammers for being with minor. And I'll be eighteen later this year." She said.
"Still, we're going to be the talk of media, especially with you." I pointed out. "And you know how my fans are who claim to be "experts" on who I should be with. Some still believe Bella and I should end up married."
"They're just fans who just talk behind their phones and can't do much." Nessie shrugged. "And besides, even if they try to do something to me, I'm not afraid. Edward dealt with this before. I got him, Bella, my family and friends, and you." She said to me.
I sighed at how Nessie could be okay so easily, but if she's happy about being with me as I am with her, then it's okay.
"You know Edward's going to kick my ass when he finds out about us." I added.
"We're waited out." Nessie said. "Maybe once I turned eighteen or after my first year of college. I'll figure things out."
"I won't rush ya." I said.
"Hey guys," I quickly let go of Nessie's hand and looked to see Edward coming over to us. "Sorry about that, but the deal is taking care of."
I cleared my throat to avoid giving things away. "No worries. Any changes on your contract?" I asked him.
"Yeah, my salary of forty-eight million coming into the season will be converted into a signing bonus instead." Edward smiled. "So the team will be saving a bunch of cap space for the time being."
"Sweet! So that means you guys might get some big stars from free agency coming and still have enough for the rookies you'll be drafting." I said excitedly. Maybe the Seahawks will be back in the Super Bowl this year.
"Probably, it's gonna be a good year and I can feel it." Edward said and looked around. "Where's Bella?"
"Right here!" Bella said as she rushed over. "Sorry about that. After my call with Reyna, Alice called and wanted to discuss about Renesmee's dress for the Oscars. I told her to just come over like she always." She said, rolling her eyes.
"Oh no, I'm playing Barbie dress up again?" Nessie asked with a worried look on her face.
I just chuckled. "Don't worry, Nessie, I'll make sure that pixie doesn't go overboard." I said allowing Nessie to feel relaxed.
"Alright, let's head home. Jacob, ready to follow us?" Edward asked.
"Can I ride with Jake?" Nessie asked. "I still want to catch up with him." That got my heart jumping around with joy.
"Sure, just don't get lost with him." Bella teased causing me to roll my eyes.
"You're not gonna let that one go ten years ago." I said as we got up and went to our cars where Nessie got into mine. I followed Edward's car on the road as we head to their place. During the ride, Nessie placed her hand on top of mine. I looked at it and then at her where she smiled making me smiled as well.
We stayed like that for a while as I was driving where we made small talk. Who knew things would feel more at ease after confessing something that may seem wrong but so right? We arrived at Bella and Edward's place where I saw their car parked in first as I pulled up mine next to them.
"Well time to get to work." I said as turned off the engine and unbuckled my seatbelt. Got a lot to talk about with Edward to prepare the podcast."
"Wait, Jake?"
"Yeah?" I turned my head and that's when Renesmee grabbed my face and placed her lips on mine. That there, was what brought me back to the earth. The feeling of how soft her lips are to mine felt so good, even if it was for a few seconds.
Nessie pulled back and I opened my eyes to see her smiling while blushing. "Thank you… for everything." She said.
"Of course." I smiled as Nessie nodded her head before getting out of my car. I looked around. Thank god my windows are tinted. I thought before taking a deep breath and getting out of my car to see everyone else getting inside and I followed after them.
What a day. I thought. Now to hope nothing goes wrong when the time comes to tell everyone the truth about me and Nessie.

Update, as you know, was down on the emails, again. It was down for three months and they did nothing to fix this until like a week or two ago it was working again. Then there was the stats being frozen, not keeping track of daily readers. I was keeping up with someone who told me things are back to normal but who knows what's gonna happen next. -_- Are there even people there working on it?
This sucks I tell ya. I don't know if will ever get fix because I feel like there's no one there running the ship. Well, I'll still post things here because this was where it all started for me, but I will be on Stars Library if you haven't followed me already since I have all my work there right now.
