Chapter 1
Callie's POV:
Today was the day. I was moving into forks to be the new school teacher for the Reservation school.
I was an history teacher. My name is Callie Ruperts. I also had children. They were not my children.
They were my siblings. My parents had died right after I had graduated college. With student debts to pay and 9 siblings to take care of,
I was lucky to be able to get this job. It paid enough to pay the bills and put food on the table and that's all that really mattered.
I knew that I would need to get another part time job. We moved to a house in Forks that was just outside the Reservation so that I could go to teach quickly.
My siblings were as follows.
I was the oldest and was now 25 years old. Then came my brother Matt. He was 16. He liked to do art projects. I picked this house because it had a garage where he could set up his painting set and go to town on his creativity.
Next was Sally. She was 14. She loved to film the family and everything she could. She wanted to be a film maker. I enrolled her in the Forks school because they had a filmmaking class. I enrolled all the kids in the Forks schools that way they could have a broad spectrum of friends in Forks and on the Reservation.
Then came Mary and Lola. The twins. They were 10. They loved to play princess and Barbies. Typical little girls. They were the smile of the family. No matter how hard it got they always looked on the bright side of things.
Then came Mark. He was 9. He was the prankster. He would get into so much trouble. Lot's of calls from the principle and almost getting suspended last year. I loved him but sometimes he got on my nerves.
Then came Donna. She was 8 years old. She liked watching TV dramas. Even if they were in a different language with subtitles, she was into it. She also was such a drama queen.
Then came Harry. He was 7. He liked anything to do with ghosts and supernatural. Sometimes I had to ban him from watching his films at night or he would wake up with nightmares. He was so creative and it was kind of funny to hear him with his theories.
Kiki was next. She was 6 years old. She loved anything to do with dance. She would do dance classes after school. She loved to be a ballerina.
Then there was Ryan. He was 5. He was still figuring out what he liked. But he loved his Paw patrol. A show about dogs saving people and it was a good cartoon for him to watch.
My life was not easy. It was surrounded with children. If I missed one day of work. Our bills would not be paid. I had a lot of responsibilities on my shoulders. I had no love life let alone a life as it is. No partying and no going out to bars. I could not live my life. I didn't mind, but when it would get tough, sometimes I would wonder what it would be like to have a life. I loved my siblings but I did need some me time and I was about to crack. I was praying for a miracle.
My siblings and I got out of our van and Matt pulled up in his car with the rest of the gang. We opened the front door and started loading things into the house. The moving truck pulled up just as we had finished. We all picked our rooms. I would get my own room, being the fact that I was the adult. Matt also got his own room. Then Sally, Mary, and Lola shared a room. Then Mark and Harry shared a room. Donna got her own room in the attack and then kiki and ryan each got their own rooms. The house was not big but it had enough rooms that were big enough for our family.
We didn't have much furniture. We had beds and dressers. We were thankful the house came with a built in kitchen table and corner booth dinner table. It was small but we knew we could make it work.
We had a tv with a tv stand and a dvd player with our small collection of dvds. But that was it. No couch. I felt bad that I could not afford a couch, but what was I supposed to do? I had to take care of their needs.
I was standing in the kitchen telling the movers where to put the little stuff that we had and matt came up to me. "What about food?" he asked. I sighed. "Well, as soon as the movers leave I'll go get some pizza." I said. Matt shrugged his shoulders. "That's like 3 pies and so expensive." He said. I sighed. "Your right." I said. "I'll go to the store and get mac and cheese." I said. Matt sighed. "I'm so tired of mac and cheese." He said. I sighed. "Matt, I'm sorry but things are tight since mom and dad died. I'm trying the best that I can." I said. Matt nodded. "I know, just sucks." He said. I smiled. "maybe you'll meet some friends at school." I said Matt smiled. "Yeah, maybe." He said.
The movers finally left and I asked Matt to babysit so that I could go to the store. I drove to the store and got out of the car. Grabbed a shopping cart and headed inside. Our budge was tight so I had to get food that was easy to make and on a lower price. By the time I was done, my cart was full and had priced everything according to my budget. I walked to the checkout lane and put everything on the belt. The lady rang up my purchases and I was 30 dollars over the budget. I would have to take things off and there was a line forming. I sighed and looked through the food.
Suddenly, there was a couch behind me. I turned to look at a very beautiful man. He had blond hair and beautiful eyes. He looked like a statue. "Allow me to help." He said. I sighed. "Oh, you don't have to do that." I Said. The man smiled. "I understand you don't want charity but can tell that you have a full house. Let me help." He said. I smiled and nodded. The man helped me pay for the rest of my groceries and helped me to the car after he checked out. He had one things. It was suntan lotion. I sighed and unpacked my groceries into the trunk. I turned to the man. "I can't thank you enough." I said
the man smiled. "I have not seen you around here before." He said. I nodded. "Yea, me and my siblings just moved here." I said. He smiled. "Oh, how many sibling? Did your parents move too?" he asked. I sighed. "My parents died over a year ago. We moved here for a fresh start and we could not afford our other place so we had to move. " I said. The man sighed. "Well, I'm sorry." He said. I nodded. "How many siblings?" he asked again. I sighed. "Including me there is 10 of us." I said. The man looked stunned. "Well, if you need any help feel free to call me" He said as he handed me a card. I smiled and took the card. It said Carlisle Cullen. He was a doctor at the forks hospital. I smiled and said thanks. He walked away soon after that and I finished putting the groceries in the car. I got into the car and drove home. When I got home I beeped the horn to get the boys to help me unload. My siblings came out and we brought the food into the house. I unloaded it and soon we were eating our mac and cheese for dinner.
When we finished dinner, there was a knock on the door. I answered it and smiled. It was Jacob Black. "Come on in." I said. Jacob came in, wearing his leather jacket with ripped jeans. I smiled. "What's up?" I asked as I entered the kitchen. Jacob smiled. "Well, I wanted to check on you and the kids." He said. I smiled. "Well, it's been rough but this move is exactly what we need." I said. Jacob looked around and saw the rest of the kids sitting on the floor in the living room watching a movie that they all agreed on. I could not afford cable or internet so we had our dvds. Jacob looked stiff. "What's wrong?" I asked. Jacob looked at me and smiled. "Oh, nothing. If there is anything I can do, please ask." He said. "actually, if you could help me find a babysitter for ryan that would be good." I said. I don't start work till Monday. And given that it's only Wednesday that gives me some time to move in and find a nanny." I said. Jacob smiled. "Actually, I can do better than a nanny." He said. "My Sister Rachel is looking for work. Maybe she could help." He said. I smiled and sighed in relief. "if she could help that would be great. I can't afford much but it's only school hours." I said. Jacob nodded. "no worries. It's all gonna work out. You just have to breath. I sighed. "That's harder to do than you think." I said. "Why, what's the matter?" he asked.
I sighed. I had not wanted anyone to know just yet. "I got a letter from my parents lawyer. Basically due to the fact that I'm so young, my parents put a stipulation in the will that in order for me to keep the kids under my custody that I have to get married. I have a couple months left before the deadline." I said. Jacob just staired at me like I had 2 heads. "I know it sounds crazy, but what was I supposed to do? I need to keep these kids together and I will not lose them." I said. Jacob sighed. "I don't know if I could help. But If it comes down to custody. I promise that I'm gonna make sure you all stay together. I sighed. "How am I gonna get married? I don't even have 4 minuets to myself." I said. Jacob laughed. "What's so funny?" I asked. Jacob spoke. "You said 4 minuets. Usually it's 5." He said. I sighed. "Shut up, you know what I meant." I said. Jacob smiled and put his hands up in defense. I sighed. Believe me, I tried to date, but everyone I told about this didn't want 9 siblings to be part of the package." I said. Jacob nodded. "we will figure it out." He said. I nodded trying to make the tears not fall. I didn't want my siblings to see me cry. "I have to set up the house." I said. Jacob smiled. "Now that I can help you with." He said. I smiled.
Carlisle POV
My life was not what I expected. Being a vampire with a vampire family was hard. You had to be very careful who you let in. When Esme died I was heartbroken. She left me with Edward and Bella as well as Jasper and Alice and Rosalie and Emmet. They all stayed with me through my rough patch. I worked at the hospital more hours to distract my soul from my hurt. That is if I had a soul. I didn't know anymore. Over the years, my kids and I had moved around and finally, we ended up in Forks. That's where we met Bella. Edward and Bella had been together for 5 years now. Bella was a vampire now and her and Edward had a daughter called Renesme. Jacob black had imprinted on her with his wolf powers and everyone was finally sticking together. The wolves of La push didn't like us and we didn't like them, but we learned to work together and eventually were able to tolerate each other. Renesme was not 13 and getting bigger every month. I missed Esme so bad. I knew that eventually, maybe over the years that I would be living in this world that there might be a possibility of me meeting a new mate.
Today I went to the store. The family was planning on going on vacation and Eward needed sunscreen for Renesme, so I offered to pick it up. The woman that was in front of me was short some money and I could tell she was overwhelmed and embarrassed. I offered to pay for her groceries. I felt bad and wanted to help. When I took a step closer, I smelled her. She smelled like Vanilla and Brown sugar. Her blood smelled amazing too. I was drawn to her and knew that she was supposed to be my mate. I knew this because the smell was intoxicating and nothing compared to it.
The woman eventually let me help and I walked her to her car. I knew I had to find out who she was. I handed her my card to keep the connection open. Her smell was so sweet. We talked a little and I was surprised when she told me that she had 9 other siblings that she was taking care of. I knew that when she told me that, that she needed help. I wondered where she was living and had to find out.
I wanted to follow her and find out where she lived. But, I didn't want to be a stalker. I knew that I would run into her again. Forks was not a big town.
I had an errand to run. I owned various properties. A couple months ago Jacob black had asked me to help a friend with a place to live. He asked if I could lower the rent to help out cause his friend could no afford much. I nodded and agreed. Handed Jacob the keys and we had a deal. I told Jacob I would stop by the house to introduce myself and he nodded.
I drove to the house and saw that there was no moving van just 2 cars in the driveway. I parked my car and walked up to the front door. Suddenly, I smelled her. I looked into the window and saw her. She was talking with Jacob. When she told Jacob about the will, if I had a heart it would have skipped a beat. I knew that I had to help her and be there for her. She was my mate and I had to take care of her and not scare her off. I heard that she only had a couple of months left before the lawyer changed custody. I knew what I needed to do. I was going to marry Cassie. I was going to take care of her. But first things first, I had to get her to trust me and my family. It was going to be tough, but I knew that I could do it. Then I knocked on the door.
