Steve had emptied the entire drawer and still not found his favourite jumper. He knew he'd washed it, remembered putting it in the dryer but after that... He spun around and dug through the pile of clothes on the floor again.
"Everything okay?"
He didn't turn at the sound of Eddie's voice as he continued digging. "No! My jumper's missing!"
"Which one?"
"The yellow one!" Steve huffed as he reached the floor and sat back on his heels. "I swear I washed it yesterday."
Eddie hummed. "Yeah, you did."
Steve whipped around, mouth open to ask if he knew where it was but the words died on his tongue. Eddie was wearing his jumper. He smirked as Steve's mouth shut with an audible click.
"Something wrong, Stevie?"
"No, nothing," He replied hoarsely because damn, did Eddie look good. He normally wore dark clothing but the bright yellow really brought out the amber in his eyes. Steve found himself at a loss for words. "When did you...?"
"Oh, this?" Eddie plucked at his chest, smirk widening. "This morning after you left for work. It was cold and well... you've stolen my vest so I thought it was only fair."
Steve looked down guilty because he was still wearing Eddie's denim vest. It was one of his favourite things to wear. Something about it belonging to Eddie made him feel warm inside, like carrying a piece of the other man around with him when they were apart.
"Damn, Stevie, at least give me a compliment." Eddie twirled once and pouted. "How do I look?"
"Good, definitely good." He scrambled to his feet and grabbed a fistful of his jumper to pull Eddie closer. "You should keep it, looks good on you."
"You don't mind?" He asked coyly, running a finger down Steve's chest. "I know it's your favourite jumper."
"And it looks amazing on my favourite person." He smiled as Eddie's expression faltered, cheeks turning pink. As much as he played it cool, Steve knew he was a sucker for compliments. "Seriously, I like the look."
"If you insist."
"I do." Steve tightened his arms around Eddie's waist to pull him in closer for a kiss. "There's one condition though."
"Yeah?"
"I keep your vest."
Eddie laughed, eyes crinkling with the sound. "Steve, it's been yours ever since I threw it at you. You're lucky I didn't jump you in the Upside Down when you put it on."
"Lucky isn't the word I'd use."
Eddie grabbed his hands as they moved lower towards the curve of his ass. "Hey, keep that thought, we've got a date first."
"Will you keep the jumper on?"
"As long as you keep wearing my vest, pretty boy."
"It's a deal."
