Steve's attention was drawn by the small hum. His eyes left the book he was supposed to be reading and travelled over to his boyfriend. Eddie was sitting on the floor cross-legged, tongue poking out of the corner of his mouth as he painted a small figurine in his hands with precise strokes. Steve had never seen him display such intense focus on one thing for such a long time before.

"I can feel you staring," Eddie muttered, eyes still on the figurine. "Cut it out, it's distracting."

"You look so pretty like this."

He snorted yet didn't say anything. Steve smiled and returned to his book. Every now and then he glanced up but Eddie remained focused. There was a streak of pink paint across one cheek and Steve wanted to reach out and touch.

"Steve," Eddie finally looked up, eyes dancing with amusement. "You're distracting and I need to get this done for tomorrow."

"I'm literally sitting here doing nothing. How am I distracting you?"

"Dunno, baby, you're too handsome for your own good. Like..." He trailed off, turning the figurine slowly. "I think to myself, damn, Steve Harrington loves me. What am I supposed to do with that information?"

"Eds?"

"I mean, I'm painting a D&D figure and you think I'm pretty!" He looked at Steve again and smiled. "How did I get so lucky?"

"I'm the lucky one." Tossing aside the book, he slid onto his knees next to Eddie. "All I wanted was someone to love me and you do that with your whole heart."

"Oh, Stevie, I give you more than my heart." Eddie carefully put the figurine down and leaned his arms on Steve's shoulders, bending to kiss him. "I give you everything I have."

"I love you," Steve breathed, finally wiping away the offending paint.

"Love you too," Eddie hummed and then with a wicked smile he wiped his hand on Steve's face, smearing him with paint. "Oh no, now you need to shower too. Such a shame."

Steve laughed, leaning in to kiss him again. "Can I join you?"

"Thought you'd never ask."
