Chapter 13: Oltanis Orbit

Location: Supreme Executive Chairman Drek's flagship, Oltanis Orbit.

Drek (to Qwark): It is time to begin your new assignment.

Qwark: Ah, a photo op by your shiny new shuttle! Terrific idea!

Drek: (facepalms) You really are an idiot…

Qwark: What?

Drek: YOU are to take that shuttle to the moon base and ambush those two miscreants when they arrive!

Qwark: Oh yes! Heh, er, who are they again?

Drek: (growls, before pointing at the photo of Ratchet and Clank from the Hovercon Hoverboard Championship) THOSE TWO!

Qwark: Oh, of course! There's just one problem, I'm-

Drek: Too washed up for ground combat? True. That is why I will be loaning you my star fighter! You can still fly, can't you?

(Qwark nods his head)

Drek: It's settled then. You will acquire the star fighter once you get to the moon. Screw this up and the endorsement deal is OFF!

Qwark: (gasps) But that would ruin me! You wouldn't!

Drek: Hehheh, try me.

(Qwark squeezes into the shuttle and takes off towards the moon base)

Location: Gemlik Moonbase

Clank: I did not see Drek's ship. We must have missed him!

Ratchet: Aargh! Who knows where Qwark is now! If we're gonna catch those two we need a faster ship.

Clank: Perhaps this space station will supply the ship we need.

Ratchet: Well, we're here. Let's go check it out.

Xoruxshy: Who knows what kind of Heartless we'll find out here.

Crossing over to the main entrance of the moon base, they find Robosquawkers waiting for them. These new Heartless are robotic birds made for space flight before being injected with Darkness. Ratchet takes care of these enemies with his Blaster. Climbing up the stairs to the next area, they find their path blocked by a barrier.

Xoruxshy: Hold up, let me find the power source for this… Got it. It's that tower next to the barrier. (Blasts it with her new Weedle Blaster designed by Verity)

In this new area, they find more Robosquawkers along with a Dread Commander. IF uses her needle Weedle Qatars to slash them, causing them to turn into silk threads coated with poison before floating away into nothingness. Using the Devastator, a Rocket Launcher, allows them to enter the next area filled with nothing but a turret manned by a Blarg. Ratchet uses his Bomb Glove after getting behind the glass casing. Opening the locked gate into the next area, Xoruxshy flies over the Blarg Turret, allowing her to whack it with her Keyblade, allowing Ratchet and IF to get past the next gate, only to be attacked by another Blarg Turret, which Xoruxshy takes out again. Beyond this is an area filled with Squawkers and containers of explosive chemicals. Ratchet shoots one with his Blaster, causing it to explode, which sends all of the Squawkers flying before exploding into Darkness. Seeing another barrier and the Power Source behind it, Xoruxshy takes out the Visibomb Gun she bought from Gadgetron to appease the company's CEO, Mr. Fixxit, and blows it up, revealing a Blarg Ship that shoots missiles at them. Ratchet blows up the ship from behind a wall using the Visibomb Gun he also recently bought. As soon as they enter the empty space, however, the gate behind them opens, revealing more Blarg Ships that are promptly blown up from a safe distance by the Visibomb Guns. Once they are dealt with, IF destroys the ground forces on the path, allowing them to access the nearby elevator.

Down below is an area with more Squawkers. Ratchet whacks them once on the ground with his new Chitinwing Omni-Wrench 1.0, created by the efforts of Tails and Weiss working together. Once in the tunnel in this area, they have to platform across an acidic river without falling in. Once across, they find a Swingshot area which they cross, busting apart a pair of Dread Commanders on the other side upon landing with a kick. Crossing a Magneboot section with rising and falling battery acid, they time their traversal to prevent dying a horrible scorching fate.

In the next area, they take out more Dread Commanders before barely managing to jump a freaking long chasm over a river of acid to another elevator. In the next area, Ratchet finds a nice vantage point to launch a few Visibombs at a power source and ship inside a hangar. Beyond that is an area with explosive chemicals and Squawkers. IF uses a secret dart in her Qatars to blow up the chemicals and Squawkers. Opening the door nearby allows them to get behind some Blarg Turrets to take them out without getting blasted. Past these turrets is an area filled with Squawkers flying in circles and Dread Commanders. Upon taking them out, they are forced to retreat to a safe distance to avoid being killed by the Blarg Ships that come from out of view, then take them out with Visibombs.

Continuing onward, they move on to an area with turrets they can't avoid, so they jump over these bullets as fast as they can to get to the elevator upon which they find a room with a bunch of Squawkers and a ship, as well as some Dread Commanders.

Ratchet: Clank, are you thinking what I'm thinking?

Clank: Pull out the RYNO and blast everything in sight?

Ratchet: Exactly, except for the ship.

Upon destroying everything here and the ship disappearing, the group take the next elevator, finally finding Qwark.

Qwark: Hello 'Captain Ratchet', 'Goddess Mobius Heart'!

Ratchet: (attacks Qwark, missing) Aaarrrgh!

Qwark: Ah - ha - ha - ha - ha! (Standing on top of Drek's starfighter before getting in) Come and get me, heroes! (Takes off)

Clank: (Pointing at the nearby garage) Perhaps we could obtain a ship in there.

Ratchet: Great idea! Let's go.

Upon damaging Qwark's ship beyond repair, he starts spiraling towards the planet nearby.

Qwark: Uh, mayday, mayday! Well, Ratchet, I'd say you passed the test… (nervous laughter) Oh boy… Ah-ah-AAAAGHHH! *twinkle sound-effect*

Ratchet then lands the ship and meets up with IF and Xoruxshy.

Ratchet: Yes! Qwark is history!

Clank: Despite my earlier criticism, I must admit your piloting skills are improving.

Ratchet: I knew you'd come around.

Clank: But that has not helped us locate Drek!

Ratchet: C'mon Clank, can't you… just once… relax and enjoy a little success? (Jaw drops in helmet as he sees a new ship) Hey, you wanna catch Drek? Betcha' this baby can do it! (An Infobot pops out and plays while Xoruxshy opens the hood of the ship)

(A slightly damaged Darla Gratch appears on screen giving another news report)

Darla: This is Darla Gratch reporting live from Gorda City. This once peaceful planet is being torn apart today in an unprovoked attack. It now seems certain that Supreme Executive Chairman Drek will not be disuaded in his efforts to destroy the galaxy for his own selfish needs. All hope certainly seems lost. Darla Gratch, Channel 2 news.

Ratchet: Ummm…

Clank: Yes, I know. It is worse than I expected too.

Ratchet: Look, maybe you were right. This is a lot bigger than you or me. I was really selfish focusing on Qwark.

Clank: It is not too late to stop Drek.

Ratchet: Hey, yeah! We've got this new ship. Let's go get him.

Clank: Now you are talking.

IF: Hey, sis! What are you doing?

Xoruxshy: Doing something I should have done a while ago. I'm installing Ratchet's ship with a TARDIS coral, that way he can use the Time Vortex as well.

Ratchet: Really? Cool! Does this mean we're going with you on your next adventure?

Xoruxshy: Only if you want to.

Ratchet: As soon as we beat Drek, I'm in. How about you, Clank?

Clank: It will be fun.

Xoruxshy: Cool!

With that, the now permanent party travels to Gorda City, or what's left of it.
