Chapter 14: Oltanis

Upon touching down on Oltanis, Ratchet, Clank, IF, and Xoruxshy get out of their respective ships, and instantly Clank gets zapped by lightning, being knocked unconscious and falling off of Ratchet's back.

Ratchet: Clank?! Clank! Come on, wake up!

(Clank opens his eyes)

Clank: Captain Qwark?

Ratchet: Ha. No goofball it's me…Ratchet.

Clank: What…happened?

Xoruxshy: You got toasted by lightning. This place is having one heck of a storm. You won't be safe out there. You should get back on the ship. We'll be right back.

Upon leaving Clank in Ratchet's ship, they stock up on what they can, being limited on bolts. Going onto the start of the path, they take the left path of a split and see Scoutbots. Ratchet takes them out with his Blaster. Continuing onward, they see a new type of Heartless pop out of a manhole. These Heartless are known as Tesla Bots. These Heartless are destroyed by Xoruxshy who jumps over their Tesla beams, whacking them with her Keyblade. Beyond this is a Bomb Lobber, a ship that flies away when getting too close. Due to this, Ratchet equips the Devastator, causing it to blow up after three hits. After this they are ambushed by Scout Bots and Tesla Bots upon climbing up the stairs behind it. These are taken out by IF who uses her agility to get past them. Up on the next ledge is another Bomb Lobber, and more Tesla Bots, which are destroyed by Ratchet's RYNO. The next ledge leads to a rail grind, dropping the group in an area with more Tesla Bots, easily dispatched by Xoruxshy's newly upgraded Beedrill Blaster, which shoots poison-tipped stingers. Now on a very narrow path, the party is attacked by a Bomb Lobber. Not wanting to have one of them fall off, Ratchet dispatches it with his RYNO. Further on, they find another grind rail section consisting of three rails. Getting on it, they are chased by three Tesla Bots and a robot dropping mines. With some swift dodging and a few conveniently placed electric walls, they are able to escape unharmed, landing in front of a shopkeeper.

Shopkeeper: Hey! Welcome to my shop! What can I get you!?

Ratchet: We're looking for Drek.

Shopkeeper: Sure! Yeah, I got lots of stuff on sale! After the bombing no one is around to buy anything!

Xoruxshy: (concerned) Are you okay?

Shopkeeper: Low prices?! You bet! I can make you a deal on a busted turborater, a mangled carbonizer or… I got this infobot.

IF: Guess that bombing was pretty loud huh?

Shopkeeper: Oh ho! You are three shrewd negotiators! I'll tell you what, I can let this infobot go for half price!

Xoruxshy: Here. (Transfers 2,000 bolts to the old man's account as well as a digital pass to the Basilicom and a coupon for free hearing aids)

Shopkeeper: Well, that's about it for me!

Ratchet: Thanks!

Shopkeeper: No, thank you! After the bombing, I've got nowhere to go and my eardrums are busted! With this, I can get some hearing aids and a new place to live!

Infobot

Ratchet: Now that's what I call serious firepower! Clank's gonna be jealous if he sees this!

With that the group heads to the upper city after returning to the ship. There they find Blarg Spotters, Heartless with searchlights. In order to avoid being detected, the group takes them out from a distance to avoid it calling in more Heartless. Beyond the first Blarg Spotter there is a veritable army of Scoutbots and Turrets in between them and the next area. Ratchet uses his RYNO primarily through this conflict. Near the end of this winding path, the party finds the Morph-o-Ray, a weapon that turns enemies into animals. Returning to the ship via grindrail, the group sees one more path open to them, requiring the Magneboots, leading them to an icy rooftop connected to even more Magneboot pathing. At the end of this icy gauntlet, they find Qwark, who somehow survived the crash landing, and back in his original hero outfit.

Ratchet, Xoruxshy, and IF: Captain Qwark!

Qwark: Where?

Ratchet: Come on Qwark! I know it's you.

Qwark: The name's Steve. Pleased to meet you.

Xoruxshy: Look, 'Steve', I need to know where Drek is before it's too late.

Qwark: Did you say too late? (Pulls out a clipboard which he reads from) Sir and Madams, it is never too late to acquire the latest in the long line of quality products from Gadgetron. I have for you, today only, the Gadgetron PDA.

IF: Public Display of Affection?

Qwark: No, no, no. Personal Delivery Assistant. This device allows you to purchase ammunition wherever and whenever you want it.

Ratchet: Yeah?! How do we know it works?

Qwark: You can always trust Gadgetron quality or my name's not…uh…Steve!

Xoruxshy: Well, it's definitely an official product. Here, Qwark. Don't say we never did anything for you. (Transfers the bolts to Qwark's account)

Qwark: Thank you and have a Qwarktastic day!

Ratchet: What did you say?!

Qwark: Nothing.

Upon returning to the ships once more, the group separated while Ratchet let Clank know what they found, leading them to their next destination: Quartu.
