The knock on Steve's door was quiet but musical and one he knew well. Sure enough, it was Eddie on the other side and he smiled as their eyes met. "Evening, Harrington, gonna invite me in?" Steve stepped aside to let Eddie in. He whistled lowly, wandering towards the kitchen. "Jesus, how can you stand being here all alone?"

"That's why I invited you over." Steve shut the door and followed after him. "You're loud enough to be several people."

"Rude."

"Never said I didn't like it."

"Really?" Eddie turned to look at him with a smirk. He was leaning against the counter, forgoing his usual jacket so his forearms were on display. Steve tore his eyes away from the tantalising sight to find Eddie looking at him in amusement. "So what's the plan? You get me here all on my own like this... Gonna try out that Harrington Charm?"

"You wish."

"Maybe." He didn't elaborate as he slid outside, calling over his shoulder, "got any beers?"

Steve could feel his cheeks burning as he grabbed a couple from the fridge. Eddie's flirting was really getting to him, especially now he realised he had a massive crush on the guy. He took a moment to calm down then joined his friend outside to see he'd already lit a joint. Trading a beer for the joint, Steve breathed in the thick smoke and relaxed almost immediately.

"Shit, that's strong." Eddie hummed and took the joint back. Steve watched as his lips pressed against where his had been moments before. "Dude, it's like you're kissing me."

Eddie glanced at him in surprise and Steve realised he'd spoken out loud. His stomach dropped as a wolfish grin spread across the other's face. "Your tolerance is nonexistent."

"I don't smoke as much as you." Steve made a grabby hand and Eddie handed it back. After another hit he sank back on the lounger to stare at the sky, beer forgotten. "Maybe I should. The stars look bright tonight."

Eddie's laughter rolled over him like syrup. Steve turned onto his side to smile lazily at him. "Alright, Harrington, wanna play a game?" The suggestive way he wiggled his eyebrows piqued Steve's interest.

"What game?"

"Truth or dare."

"Okay." He swung himself into a sitting position and Eddie mirrored him so their knees pressed together. "Any rules?"

"Nope but I gotta warn you. I'm gonna get super personal with you. None of that superficial bullshit. You up for it?"

"Hit me, I choose truth."

"When was the last time you had sex?" Eddie asked without hesitation.

Steve reared back slightly and frowned. "Jesus, you weren't kidding."

"Chickening out already? I've barely even started."

"Not a chance." Steve opened his beer and took a long drink before answering, "Last week."

"That's it, no details?" Eddie groaned and flicked the can tab at him. "So stingy."

"You didn't ask for details. Your turn."

"Fair enough. Dare."

Steve considered him, looking around for ideas and his eyes landed on the pool. "Skinny dip."

"Oh, you're on!" Eddie jumped up and began fiddling with his jeans. Steve could feel his face burning and could only hope it wasn't obvious. He flinched as Eddie's shirt hit him in the face followed by a splash a moment later. He chucked the shirt into the pile with the rest of the clothes in time to see Eddie resurface. "Wanna join me?"

"I haven't chosen yet." Steve finished his beer and called, "truth."

"Ugh, so boring." Eddie swam to the closest edge and leaned on his arms to watch Steve. "Fine, I want details."

Now Steve really was blushing, visibly because Eddie cackled. "Shut up." He moved closer to sit in front of his friend. "His name was Matt, met him at a bar. He'd been making eyes at me all night so I tried my luck. I rocked his world up in my room."

"Holy shit, you're a queer!" Eddie's smile made any nerves Steve felt at confessing melt away. "I knew it! I'm never wrong about that shit and you've always given me that kinda vibe."

"Why didn't you ask?"

"It was my next question."

"Gotta think of a new one." Without realising it, Steve had leaned closer to Eddie and now only a few inches separated them. God, he looked gorgeous with his wet hair plastered to his face. Steve had to resist the urge to brush it back. "Your turn."

"Truth."

"Who do you think about when you jerk off?"

Eddie choked on water and Steve could see his face turning red. "Christ, I thought I was bad."

"Answer the question, unless…" Steve clucked like a chicken but broke off laughing when Eddie splashed him.

"You sure you wanna know?"

"You're stalling."

"Maybe." Eddie shrugged and considered him. "Fine, it's… someone you know, quite personally really."

"Oh, that's bullshit!"

"Sorry man, be more specific next time."

Steve narrowed his eyes but Eddie only winked. "Dare."

"Still got that Scoops Ahoy uniform?"

"Don't you leave that pool, Munson."

"Scouts honour!" Eddie called as Steve hurried back inside. For the first time in his life, Eddie seemed speechless when Steve returned. He sat in front of the pool with a smug smile. "You even have the hat?"

"Of course." Steve pulled it off and jammed it on Eddie's head. "Looks better on you, though."

"Trust me, I could never pull off those shorts."

"Your turn." Steve shoved him with a foot, laughing when Eddie dragged him dangerously close to the pool edge.

"Dare."

"Put it on. I wanna see if you can pull it off."

Eddie raised his eyebrow. "You're wearing it."

"Take it off me." Steve kept his eyes on Eddie's face as he lifted himself out of the pool and knelt by his side.

"You sure?" Eddie asked quietly, fingers tugging on the bottom of the shirt.

Steve nodded, too nervous for words and lifted his arms to let Eddie take the shirt. The shorts took a little more work and Steve had to think about Keith reprimanding him as Eddie touched his thighs. He didn't want to pop a boner right now. After a good few minutes, Eddie nudged his leg and Steve looked over at him, throat constricting at the sight.

Eddie looked gorgeous.

Steve wanted to throw him over his shoulder, take him upstairs and ravish him.

Eddie smiled and spun around. "What do you think?"

"You- you can definitely pull that off." He replied haltingly, desperately trying to think of Keith again. "Dare."

"Get in the pool, Harrington."

Steve did as he was told, watching Eddie toss aside the cap and pull off the shirt. He stood in just the shorts, still soaking wet and leaving little to the imagination. "Truth."

There was only one question Steve could think of. "Who do you think about?"

"Steve…" Eddie knelt next to him and frowned. "I tell you this, you promise not to hate me?"

"Promise."

He took a deep, shuddering breath and closed his eyes. Steve noticed how hard he was digging his fingers into his thighs and gently rubbed above his knee. Eddie relaxed his grip and exhaled. "You." He said softly. "It's been you for a while now."

"Huh."

"Just huh?"

Steve smiled, pulling Eddie's legs around him and into the water. "Truth."

"Ever thought of me?"

"Every night for months. Matt had curly hair, that's why I liked him."

"Jesus Christ," Eddie muttered distractedly. "Oh, we gotta stop before I blow my load or something." He looked down at Steve heatedly. "You mean that?"

"Every word. Your turn."

"Dare," Eddie breathed, fingers winding into Steve's hair as he spoke.

"Get in the pool and kiss me already." Steve almost went under with the force of Eddie's movement but he kept them afloat and met his mouth eagerly. He felt like he was burning up under Eddie's touch. It was addictive and Steve immediately wanted more. "That was good," He panted when they finally broke apart.

Eddie laughed, arms going around Steve's waist to squeeze him close. "Your turn."

"Dare."

"Don't let me go," Eddie spoke quietly, eyes filled with a hope Steve felt deep in his chest. "Ever."

"Never," Steve promised, kissing him sweetly.
