Father's Day!:
(Okay, so we're at Father's Day! P.S. I know by the time I made this, it's Flag Day, but I was working on this one earlier this week. I hope u guys have fun with this. Anyways, I was thinking to make it feel more like the Bad Guys, I'd write a Carmen Sandiego crossover one shot. I'll work on that maybe next week? Anyways, enjoy the chapter!)
Today was Father's Day, with Zeke working on something with Shark to start off his dad's day.
"Okay, flip 'em over." Shark said, having Zeke flip over the pancakes they were making. "Is the sausage ready?" Zeke asked, "Should be in a couple minutes." Shark said, "Look at you, though, Zekey, you're really making pancakes on your own, now." Zeke smiled happily, "So, when do I get a promotion?" Zeke was talking about when he could help his Uncle Lou with other things around the kitchen.
"Whoa, slow your roll there, kiddo. You're on busboy duty." Shark said. Zeke put his head down, upset.
"Okay, I got the sausage cut up. Let's start arranging the plate." Piranha had said, finishing cutting up the sausage.
"Thanks, Tío!" Zeke said, "We gotta just make the eggs."
"Zeke! The pancakes!" Shark warned his nephew, "Ah! S-Sorry about that, g!" Zeke said, flipping over the pancakes.
(Later)
Wolf yawned, waking himself up for the day. Wolf looked to side, he felt kinda bothered about something for a moment. "…It's not a big deal. Don't ruin this day for Zekey…" Wolf thought to himself. There was then a knock at the door, "Dad, can we come in?" It was Zeke's voice. "Yeah, kiddo!" Wolf said, happily.
The door opened, and there Zeke carried a huge plate of a breakfast comprised of pancakes, eggs, and sausage. "Aww, a breakfast in bed? Thanks, son!" Wolf said, taking the plate from his son. "I made the pancakes this time. Uncle Lou taught me how to make them and flip them." Zeke explained, "Ha! Looks like someone's on his way to becoming the next Gordon Ramsey." Wolf winked, patting the boy's head, the two laughing.
"Happy Father's Day, Dad!" Zeke said, Wolf smiled. "Happy Father's Day, kiddo! So, anything you wanted to do today?" Wolf asked, wondering what fun they could have today. Although, Wolf's definition was immensely different from Zeke's.
"It's your thing today, Dad." Zeke looked confused, "Right. Right. Anyways, I guess we could go see a movie or something?" Wolf suggested, thinking of a way to make it more fun, "How 'bout…for old time's sake, why don't we wear disguises?" Wolf snapped his fingers.
Zeke squinted his eyes, "Sure! I remember a character that wears something cool!"
(Later)
One of the benefits of being under disguise was that Wolf could avoid some of the fear of other people. Zeke put on a blonde-spiky haired wig, along with an all black and red outfit. The two decided to "So, what's on the agenda, Prompto?" Mr. Poodleton said his son's persona. "We grab the stuff for a water-balloon fight, then we head to that diner you like for steak, then…I think that's it. I guess we can watch a movie when we get home?" Zeke asked, "Haha, sounds fun."
Individually, the two wanted to have fun together, but it seemed like they were caring more about what the other wanted over themselves.
(Later)
Wolf and Zeke waited at the diner for a table, "S-Sorry, Dad. I didn't think it'd be packed today." Zeke apologized, "Nah, it's okay, kiddo. Though I am tempted to reveal our little facade…" He said, jokingly. Zeke giggled, "Well, it's not like we'd get a free table if you did that, now." The rabbit said.
"Huh, oh yeah, I DID go straight. Hmm…" Wolf said, pretending to think long and hard about going good. "Dad!" Zeke said, "Haha! I'm just kidding, Zekey." Wolf said, smiling fondly, knowing he wouldn't change that decision to go good.
"Okay, if you would just follow me." The waitress had said.
"See? There we go." Wolf said, "Um, ma'am, I have a quick question. As a promising new busboy, according to my uncle, how much work do I have to put in before I get promoted to cooking duty?" Zeke asked. The waitress just giggled, "I'd wait until you're at least maybe a teenager, kiddo."
Wolf chuckled, "She's right, buddy. You gotta BE a teenager, not just dress the part."
"How dare you. All you wear is suits, what do you know about fashion?" Zeke said, squinting his eyes in faux-disdain, and then the two sat at their awaited table. "Okay, what can I get you to drink?" The waitress asked. The father and son placed their orders and the waitress left.
"Soooooooooooooooooooo…" Zeke inhaled, "Oooooooooooooooooooooo…"
Wolf sighed, "Get to the point, Zekey." Wolf said, not wanting that "So" to go on for so long.
"Are you having fun?" Zeke asked, "Ha! 'Course I am, no doubt about that!" Wolf said, giving a thumbs up.
Zeke smiled, "Me too, then! The idea with the you-know-whats was a fun idea." The boy said, talking about the disguises.
Wolf snickered, "You're just saying that cuz I finally let ya wear a cosplay in public."
"Heehee…I bet you and your dad didn't have as much fun as right now." Zeke said, little did he realize Wolf looked a little sheepish when he had said that. "H-Heheh, yeah, well…Yeah, kiddo, definitely not." Wolf said, trying to play it off like it was no big deal.
Wolf looked to the window, Zeke looked back at his dad. He looked…afraid and upset. "Dad?" Zeke asked, concern evident in his voice.
"O-Oh look, the food's here!" Wolf said, returning to his cheerful, excited self.
"He…doesn't look like he wants to talk about it…" Zeke realized it was none of his business to ask why his dad seemed upset, but he was still curious. "Maybe I should ask Uncle Hubert, later."
(Later)
Now began the ever-so seasonal water balloon fight. Wolf and Zeke played outside the hideout,
"Oh hi there, opening!" Zeke said, throwing a water balloon at his dad. "I really wish I could whistle."
Wolf took a hit of the water balloon and the water splashed all over his shirt. "You can't beat the master of water balloon fights, Zekey!" Wolf said, smugly. "Dad, I've hit you at least 17 times." Zeke pointed out.
Wolf's sweat dropped, embarrassed, "Y-Yeah, I was just testing you! Now take this!" Wolf threw a water balloon. Zeke tried his best to dodge the balloon, but ended up getting hit near his shoulder.
Piranha had walked out of the hideout and saw the two playing. "Hola, amigos! Wait, you playing with water balloons, without ME?!" Piranha had asked.
"S-Sorry about that, hermano." Wolf said, whispering, "Yeah, but this is Father-Son time between me and Zeke, so…" Wolf gestured for Piranha to leave.
Piranha squinted his eyes, definitely wanting to play. "We'll play tomorrow, Tío!" Zeke said, "Ugh…fine." Piranha had folded his arms, "Es por eso que deberían hacer días para tíos y tías." He complained in Spanish. Wolf then thought about that, and smiled. "Actually, Piranha. Grab the others, we'll make an Uncle's and Aunt's Day!" Wolf said, making Piranha's eyes light up.
"That okay with ya, kiddo?" Wolf asked his son, "Yeah! I'll pull out the colored balloons!" Zeke said.
(Later)
Wolf and Zeke watched the new TMNT with the rest of the former Bad Guys. "They looked so ugly!" Piranha said, "I think they said that's intentional, Piranha." Webs said.
"I can't wait for the next movie."
Zeke smiled, seeing that his dad was having fun again, but he did notice during the last bits with Splinter and Superfly that his dad seemed really bothered.
"Hey, Uncle Hubert!" He whispered. Snake was pouring himself a drink, "What's up, kid?" He asked, whispering "I wanted to ask you something." Zeke asked.
Snake rolled his eyes, "Again with more questions. No, I did not take your spray can." Snake spat out a pen, "Not that. I…wanted to ask about Dad's dad." Zeke said, Snake shrunk back a bit.
"U-Uh…What…what'd ya want to know?" The serpent asked. Zeke explained what they were talking about at the diner, and now when they were watching the movie. "Uh…Look, Zeke. It ain't my business to talk about. But…I'll say this, your dad…had it really rough with his pops." Snake simply said. Zeke couldn't say that was surprised at this news, but it was really painful to hear. "It don't matter now, though, kid. He's got you and us." Snake explained.
Zeke nodded, "I won't…ask anymore. I don't want Dad to be upset." Zeke said, trying to consider his father's feelings before his curiosity.
(Later)
Wolf sat next to his son, who was near ready to go to bed. "So, Dad…the final verdict? That is the right word, right?" Zeke asked, "Yup." Wolf kept a serious look on his face, "Well, let's see…the tomfoolery at the mall, our little argument about fashion at the diner…the fact that I didn't win the water balloon fight…"
Wolf lightened up and smiled, "I had a huge blast, kiddo! We rose the bar for next year!" Zeke smiled, happily. "I love you, Dad." The rabbit said, Wolf felt so happy in the moment, "I love you, too, Zekey." Wolf said, patting the back of his kid's head.
"Get some sleep, okay?" Wolf kissed his son's forehead. Zeke waited until his dad shut the door. The rabbit sat up in his bed. "Father, thank You for letting my Dad have a good day today. I know it was hard for him, though. Could you give him some comfort? Thank You, Abba. Amen."
Wolf tucked his kid in, noting that he's getting older. "I'll hafta stop tucking him in, soon." He thought to himself, feeling sad for a bit that his son was growing up.
"How're ya feeling, buddy?" Snake asked his friend, understanding that today's not the most
memorable for him. "I'm fine! Sheesh, you guys need to stop worrying." Snake looked annoyed, "Who's worrying? Don't confuse me with your kid or girlfriend, man." Snake said, which made Wolf nervously blush. "Diane's not my girlfriend! What…what gave you that idea?" Snake chuckled dryly, "You realize I didn't say "who", right?" He asked, making Wolf blush more.
"Look, I'm totally fine. Zekey and I had a lot of fun!" Wolf tried to brush it off.
Snake was worried for his friend, "Look, as far as I know, Vinnie's…not a part of my life anymore. I shouldn't let that get in the way of a day with Zeke." Wolf said, brushing his cheek. Snake reluctantly nodded his head, "Okay, if ya ever need to talk, I'm here, man." Snake said, "Should I mention something about God to make ya feel better, too?" Wolf looked on, smiling. "Thanks." Thinking about everything he knows about God. "Thank You for being with me…Even when I couldn't see You."
(Okay! It's a somber ending, I'm sure. But I have heard and read a few things from the books. Wolf and Snake had it rough growing up, I wonder if that's ever gonna play a role in the next movie. Anyways, I hope you guys have a happy Father's Day! Stay strong and awesome!)
