Chapter 1: Lord Vader.
Note: Alright my doods! Here is another story for y'all and this one based on the story title is about Overlord.
Jaune Arc is the primary MC and he has been killed during the events of the forever falls and has been sent to the world of overlord where he worked as a depressing chef and such has grown to hate a lot of things and don't forget my friends, living 35 years in a world that's crumbling under the foot of corporations will break anyone's spirit.
So in this story, Jaune will be playing the guise of Lord Vader, a character he derived from the hit movies of Star Wars and he plays with the build of a primary fighter with tid bits of special powers other than that.
Additionally, he will carry 3 world items but these are items he has gathered during his time in Yggdrasil and yes I know that behind Ainz Ooal Gown the guild behind them only had three but here's the thing…it's fanfiction, all world items will be displayed at the bottom at the chapter it's unveiled as well as who owns it.
Before we start, I'm also explaining that a shit ton of characters will also be carrying world items which I have implemented 20 fan made world items that I have plucked from the internet so these aren't my creations.
This idea is made by me and my co author unlimitedblades and is beta read by my boy ZergPsycho.
—
Jaune Arc, he was killed during the assignment of the Forever Falls to get Red Sap but the young blonde knight who was, at the time, being blackmailed by one of his peers by the name of Cardin Winchester since the young blonde man didn't get into Beacon Academy through legal means instead Jaune lied his way by getting false transcripts.
Because of this, Jaune was forced to hang out with Cardin and do a bunch of things that the blonde knight would've disagreed with but he didn't want to be kicked out before his dream of being a hero is met but unfortunately fate didn't see it that way as Jaune was killed during a confrontation after going against Cardin, he was killed by an Ursa Major, a Bear Grimm, and parishes on the forest floor.
Jaune was reincarnated into a new world called Earth and it was by far much worse than remnant could ever be as the air was polluted as all hell, the sun was no longer visible that it caused all of the world's vegetation to die out except for corporation controlled green houses that managed to keep a lot of the veggies and fruits alive however due to their extreme scarcity, only the filthy rich could eat these fruits and veggies while the lesser people of the world was forced to eat synthetic nutrient paste that has all of the nutrients needed to be consumed by the human animal.
If the air wasn't bad enough, the water was even worse as it was pitch fucking brown that it looked like the world just took a shit in the water, due to the extreme pollution of the water it had to be directed into corperation controlled water purification centers where it would be purified then sold to the public at a fixed cost luckily its low enough where people can buy it in bulk but still generated a profit for the fat cat CEOs that profited off of the worlds destruction and starved masses.
Jaune felt like a zombie in this new world where the common man had as many rights as the dirt did especially with the fact that secret police of Japan was often stalking the shadows to ensure the 'Laws' are being followed to the letter and often worried if the common man would be killed on mass if it weren't for the fact that the CEOs wouldn't get any richer if they did.
Fortunately there was a saving grace to the world's dystopian hellscape and that was video games.
Yes, Video Games, the digital landscape of the internet allowed people to dull their minds enough that they no longer had to think about their dying and decaying world and can explore new worlds where it was pure and untainted, where they could see a virtual sun instead of the polluted clouds of their world.
But like life, these games were heavily regulated as with the digital technology is that if people felt too comfortable in the digital world then they wouldn't be inclined to return to the world and do their work as such when people plays these online digitized games using the Digital Plug In Chair, there's been heavily limitations implemented.
The user's sense of taste is non-existent while the sense of touch is heavily dulled almost like they are touching things through gloves and smell is also non existent as such these are some of the regulations added that forced people to remain connected to their dying world.
Jaune found a saving Grace within a game called Yggdrasil: Dawn of the Nine Realms which was a game heavily featured using Norse Mythology and the heavily popularized game of Dungeons and Dragons though that particular game is more featured in the USA then it is in Japan.
The game was all about player customization, which allowed players to essentially control Damn near anything within the game which can range from their player avatars to a select of 2,000 Basic and Advanced Job Classes in addition that people can choose their races.
Humanoids, a select species of human looking races yet the players can't level these classes as they don't hold much value in race but they hold the highest versatility potential when picking job classes.
Then there was Demi Humans which were a mix of humanoids and monsters which produced these half in half, they have small potential in racial classes as such most races are lucky to even get up to 15-20 levels added to their racial levels.
While the last racial class was Heteromorph which are essentially monsters and a lot of people hated these heteromorphic players as the game allowed them to hunt these monsters as if they were actual game monsters, the heteromorphic players hold the highest potential to increase their racial levels up to even a maximum of 40-60 which heavily implies ones use of their racial abilities rather then class skills.
Jaune Arc played a Human which was obvious but he operated as one of his favorite fictional villains known as Darth Vader as it's probably the closest character in fiction that best resembles Jaune in his new life.
Jaune has a primary fighter who's taken up to 85 classes in the fighter subtype branch which there was quite alot which meant Jaune primarily focused on the user of heavy armor and a strong long sword though through this built, Jaune is constantly plagued with a speed penalty inflicted due to his use of heavy armor and a two handed longsword almost akin to an odachi blade.
Yet Jaune capitalized on this weakness and turned it into his greatest strength that he has maximized his attack and defense stats despite not being a focused defense player, Jaune learned to build up his defense and attack stats at the cost of his magical attack and defense but that was fine to Jaune, he was ok being weak to one end but being immensely power in the other.
Jaune has joined Ainz Ooal Gown which seemed rather odd given the guild of Ainz Ooal Gown was a Heteromorphic focused guild and had a rule that only heteromorphic players were allowed to join though it was due to the major convincing of another player by the name of Touch Me who convinced the other members that Jaune can be trusted fully so as a test.
Jaune was to bring them a divine rarity item from a question which did take Jaune a couple months but he did return but not with a divine weapon but with the World Class Item "Depiction of Nature and Society" which immediately gotten the guild to trust Jaune as world items were some of the strongest and most game breaking items in the whole game.
Yet Jaune didn't care about having a world item, at that time of the game, Jaune already held two world items so he didn't care if he got another or he didn't.
So Jaune joined Ainz Ooal Gown and he immediately connected with the players and had become best friends with the World Disaster Mage Uldain as the two really connected with Occultism until Uldain had to leave the game for good which left Jaune to watch as his closest friends started to leave one after the other and had left him and Momonga alone for most of their time in the guild.
Jaune spent most of the latest years of the game focused on exploring everything that hasn't been explored by the players of the game and managed to find a lot of stuff that had been previously missed by a lot of players until the final few weeks when an announcement that the games servers will be shutting down.
Jaune Arc felt a pang in his heart that the game that he has connected immensely for the past 12 years was being taken down, Jaune took a day off from his work so he could reconnect with the game again but he didn't realize that he wouldn't be returning home after that night.
