A/N this chapter was a slog and is probably unnecessary but ah well
To the unhappy guest and any flamers please leave some constructive criticism or say nothing, you could even comment or pm me a link to some of your own writing, an example and/or ideas to learn from. I find a lot of the stories written on this site are well done and every story written is an experience, in the end we are all learning and growing
Some examples of creative writing would be Tolkien's top down architectural approach or A Song of Ice and Fire gardening approach to writing, these are good examples for an approach to writing that i've heard of but I'm just your average Joe making his first attempt with a love for fanfiction so please comment techniques or stories you enjoy
Peace out
Start
6 Months later
Looking at just under half a million pounds in cash spilling out from under the bed I admit I might have gone overboard on the hunting these last six months with 1-2 warehouses or drug dens raided raking in anywhere between 10-50k each plus a half dozen bodies to feed on has increased my little nest egg from easily hideable to how the hell has no one noticed yet. Not to mention my physique becoming that of a muscular 13 going on 14 year old instead of the almost 11 year old that I am but the excuse of early puberty hitting like a freight train seems to buy me some time but I really gotta put the next phase of the plan into action which means going to diagon alley and entering the wizarding world. Now how the hell am i going to move all this cash to Gringotts bank and I pray the goblins are the ask no questions type because that might be a problem.
Thinking it over I decide that going to the matron and somehow persuade, bribe or coerce her into helping me move all this cash to diagon alley and doctoring records to make me disappear in the muggle world, saying I was adopted or transfered whatever is the most convenient option. Knocking on the door to her office, I wait patiently and with a muffled response she calls me in, entering i spy the respectable sized desk taking up the majority of the room with stacks of paper organised neatly on top, towards the back of the room is a large filing cabinet towards the corner, the back wall with pictures and news clippings of previous orphans that have achieved successes after adoption or leaving the orphanage, success such as graduating college to starting a business. Looking towards the tired matron, dark brown almost black hair starting to grey a small crow's feet around the eyes, I know for a fact she is a kind lady that always has a smile for us, another reason for me to come here.
"Killian, what can I do for you?" says the matron with a small smile tugging at her lips
"I was hoping you could help me with something" I respond
"And what's that? Help carrying books from the library? though with how big you have gotten you wouldn't need help from a little old lady like me" she says with genuine teasing smile
Returning her smile, thinking of my time here and this bodies memories of growing up almost raised solely by the woman in front of me "I wouldn't bother you with that, your busy enough running around after us all and i just want to offer a little help in return for one last favour, as a thankyou for everything" I reply
"Sounds mysterious" She says raising an inquisitive eyebrow "you make it sound as if your leaving, so out with it, what have you cooked up in that mind of yours"
"I recently came into some money, I want to give some of it to you and to the orphanage in exchange for help moving the rest to Charing Cross road and for you to muddle the waters so to speak if anyone comes asking for me" I say unsure as to how much i should reveal
"Killian this is very unusual and I hope you haven't been up to anything illegal, sudden money and wanting me to 'muddle the waters', you make it sound like something out of a James Bond movie" she says, suspicion and concern heavy in her voice
"I can't tell you anything but 50,000 pounds are yours to use for either yourself or the orphanage, please I want to do right by you for caring for me growing up and with this favour we can both take a step forward" I say determined to win her over but knowing I can't exactly tell her I'm a wizard moving into a secret society and the less she knows about how I got the money the better
"Thats alot of money Killian, please, just be careful and if you can assure me that you will be safe with more about your plans I will consider it" She says shock filling her face, a glint of greed in the eyes, the need for the money obvious in the state of the orphanage but the concern overruling it in the need to make sure I will be ok
"No one is after me, and the money came from people that will not miss it, the money will pay for transport to Charing Cross road, a place to stay and an education maybe with enough time I can even find my father but I can't tell you more because of certain laws, just know that I will be safe where I'm going, I'll make sure of it" I say every word laced with resolve and as much sincerity to them as possible
"Charing Cross road, sudden money and certain laws…" she mumble thoughtfully to herself eyes off to the side before straightening up and asking me "Killian are you a wizard"
Mouth dropping open I gape at her in shock before replying "How did you… Yes I am a wizard and will be going to live at Diagon Alley, but how did you know about wizards?" I say
"Before I was the Matron I worked under the previous one who told me horror stories of a boy who used to live here that hurt people and caused unusual accidents before he was invited to a special school when he turned eleven, one night she warned me that a child that is special could come to our doors and to be careful, I've known some odd things happen around you but never harmful and some of the details, wanting transport to Charing Cross road and certain laws helped me make the connection between her warning and you but you have always been a delight, quiet with your nose in a book or your head in the clouds" She says thoughtfully, the pieces connecting in her head
I assume the boy in the story is Tom Riddle but the fact that the matron made the connection between an old warning and the little details in my tale makes me wonder just how intelligent or insightful the matron truly is "I'm impressed you figured me out just from that but you knowing does make it easier" I say relieved that I don't have to fight her on this
"Yes well, as much as that explains things it doesn't assure me of your safety, you might have the money and the means but you're still only a child, who will look after you? these wizards seem backwards from what I know" The matron says coming around but common sense and the reluctance to leave a child to fend for themselves no matter muggle or wizard plain as day
"I mentioned finding my father and with magic such as an inheritance test I will find him, you don't have to worry matron, wizards have one thing they cherish and that is children because of their small community, I will find my father and I will be ok" I say
"Very well, it will be a few days before I can take you, finding someone to watch the kids and dealing with this blasted paperwork will take time but I will take you" She says finally caving to my argument, knowing I will be leaving the resolution clear to see in me
With the Matrons help secured I quickly go over my belongings separating 50,000 pounds from from the liberated cash for the Matron as well as setting aside some for common expenses before packing my clothes and what knicknacks i've collected into a bag finally coming to the last item and possibly the most important, the notebook of techniques pilfered from the Naruto series as each issue of shonen jump is translated and released so far, the current techniques include the academy 3; the substitution jutsu, the escape jutsu and the clone jutsu as well as Naruto's shadow clones but unfortunately not the summoning jutsu the jutsu the looking for. Having not practised the jutsu's it's unknown if they will work for me, with plans to experiment once in a secure location.
With a couple days to plan i think over my goals for Diagon Alley the ban is definitely first, my future is dependent on what i discover there.
"Are you ready" says the Matron
"I'm more than ready" I say as the day for this adventure begins
