The proposal

"You know I wouldn't ask if I thought the possibility didn't exist" Sango explained in a nervous voice as she fiddled and ripped a napkin to shreds between her fingers.

Kagome looked at her in surprise. The idea wandered through her mind, circling endlessly and never landing. She couldn't believe what her friend was proposing. Blushing, she looked around, making sure no one had approached their table at that noodle restaurant they frequented every weekend.

The girl in front of her avoided her gaze as she waited for her answer. There was no doubt that Sango had long been considering taking the risk and asking the question, but, still, Kagome didn't quite understand how everything had come to this situation.

"What about Miroku?" Kagome managed to say in a hoarse, nervous voice.

"Kag..." Sango smiled tenderly. You three knew each other long before I started dating him." she commented before looking at Kagome for a moment and dodging her gaze again. "He always liked you; he just took a step back the moment you and Inuyasha started dating".

"What?" Kagome asked nervously "I never suspected it, I thought it was just..."

" Flirtatious?" Sango replied with a huge smile, turning her gaze back to the young woman in front of her, now with determination. "Kag, I don't want you to feel pressured to do anything you don't want to. That's why I came instead of Miroku. I know he'd give you a million reasons why to risk it and in the end, somehow, it would end up influencing your decision. And I don't want that. I'm just leaving the proposal on the table; the decision is yours. I just would never forgive myself for not trying."

Kagome nodded, grateful for her friend's consideration. Undoubtedly, she needed to take some time and consider the idea in depth, especially before she went and mentioned it to her boyfriend.

"Inuyasha..."

"It's all of us or none of us" Sango clarified. "We don't intend to be the ones responsible for ending a beautiful relationship; if either of us has the slightest doubt, it's best not to. Being in this is a commitment from all parties."

"I understand" Kagome replied. "Sango, I'm sorry, this is too much."

A resigned smile marked the brunette's face at her friend's response, but she knew perfectly well that could happen.

"Don't worry, Kag. I know I asked something really crazy" Sango said hurriedly. "I hope I didn't make you feel uncomfortable, that's the least of it..."

"Sango, take it easy!" Kagome interrupted her. "I'm not saying no from now on, I just have to think about it" she added with a smile. "And obviously talk it over with Inuyasha."

A beautiful smile lit up Sango's face, and Kagome knew it, she was definitely very attracted to the girl sitting in front of her. A blush filled her cheeks and she felt her face heat up almost immediately. A nervous laugh escaped from her mouth before she added, "I have to go" she hurried nervously grabbing her purse and leaving enough money to pay her part of the bill. "I'll call you."

She promised before leaving in a hurry, her heart racing and an anxious smile unwilling to escape her face. She had to calm down before she got to Inuyasha.

Kagome didn't know whether to be grateful or to curse her lack of stamina for alcohol. If Sango had dared to make such a bold proposal it was undoubtedly because of the confessions she had made at the party the week before.

It was a harmless game, her friends repeated to her on many occasions, but she never imagined it would end in this.

"I'm Bisexual!"

The memory of the scream he gave that night came back to she as she walked to her apartment. She wanted to cover her face right there. Even though she was among his friends, and it was other times she never imagined her coming out would be that way.

Much less did she imagine interrupting and embarrassing Inuyasha when he was asked if they would have an open relationship. The poor boy was immediately going to answer no, when she interrupted reproaching him for not lying.

"Inu-u" she said with difficulty." Remember we talked about it before, because of that pretty girl who was after you,"Kagome made it clear to the others. We said that, if she accepted us both, we could add her to our relationship" she added.

Kagome opened her door reproaching herself for her actions of the past days. She and her big mouth.

Besides, they had had that conversation a few years ago, when a beautiful new black-haired girl had made a pass at Inuyasha at a meeting at work. The young man was direct and clarified that he had a partner. However, he saw the pretty woman every day and perceived how the girl seemed to want to eat him in a toast, which amused him in a way.

So he told Kagome about it. He knew perfectly well that his pretty girlfriend liked to watch and appreciate female beauties (maybe more if she wasn't with him), so he showed her a picture of the girl and told her about the whole situation. He never imagined that this would lead to a deeper conversation and the possibility of having a threesome.

Perhaps the deal was well established between them, but as the two discussed it with the third person involved, she rejected the proposal, but not before adding that she was flattered.

"You're beautiful" she said to Kagome. But my tastes are completely kept to boys. Sorry" she added with a self-conscious smile.

So Kagome knew perfectly well how her friend must be feeling at that moment. She took off her shoes at the entrance of her apartment, and arranged them in the small corner they had reserved for it.

An image came back to her memory, of a beautiful face approaching hers, a held breath and delicate lips resting on her mouth.

"I always wanted to do this!"

The Kagome of the past should have kept her thoughts in check, but she couldn't help but shout that after kissing Sango. All because their boyfriends had imposed that challenge on them in the game.

"A tiny little kiss, sure thing! "she reproached herself aloud before reaching her room.

The hallway was dark, but the protruding light from the last room told her that her boyfriend was home.

Kagome could feel her heart pounding harder, she wanted to tell him everything as quickly as if it were a band aid. It was exciting and terrifying at the same time, how would he take it, would he be mad, would he like it?

She took a deep breath to steel herself by entering the room.

Inuyasha had barely looked up, smiling at her about to greet her, when she interrupted him exclaiming loudly:

"Sango just proposed to me to have a polyamorous relationship. You, Sango, Miroku and me."
