CHAPTER 1

Epic Epic!

Cure Venture's Awakening!

"Excuse me, have you seen this girl?"

"I'm sorry, no."

The Royal Knight had been searching for the Princess all day long, showing people a picture of her to see if they would hopefully recognize her. Unfortunately, nobody has seen her.

The Fae Portal brought her to a place on Earth called Everspring Town. It was a busy place filled with colorful trees and flowers. People strolled the sidewalks and children laughed. It was Monday.

The princess, however, was on another place in town, Everspring Park, where families and groups of friends enjoyed the open spaces and soothing breeze.

That day, the people built a stage and set up chairs to bring forth a special event.

A group of children saw the fairy sleeping on the grass. Their eyes gleaming with illusion.

"Look, look! A real fairy!" A little girl said.

"Shh!" Another girl whispered. "Miss Fairy's asleep! If we make noises, she'll wake up angry and hide in a flower bud forever!"

The other yelled. "That's not true! Fairies don't get angry!"

Another one exclaimed. "They do!"

"They don't!"

"They do!"

"They don't!"

They were interrupted by a groan and stirring from the fairy herself, and gasped.

"Miss Fairy's waking up! She'll hide in a big flower bud if she gets angry!"

"...?"

Princess Senki opened her eyes and stared at the group of children, a smile soon growing.

"Oh. Hello."

Slowly, she sat up.

"Good afternoon, Miss Fairy!" Everyone greeted together, bowing down.

"How was your sleep?"

"I hope we didn't startle you! We don't want you to be angry and hide in a flower bud forever!"

Senki giggled. "Heheheh! All of you are so nice! Do not worry, I am not angry."

The kids smiled.

"Are you okay, Miss Fairy?" Another girl asked, worried. "Fairies usually sleep in flower houses."

The Princess responded with a reassuring smile. "I am quite alright!"

But then she realized what the kids talked about, and gasped.

"Wait... fairies? Flower houses?"

With shrunken pupils, the princess slowly looked behind her. Her wings had a faint glimmer in them. It was what called the children's attention.

However, the princess herself was scared of them.

"WAAAAAAH! What are these things?! Get them off, GET THEM OFF!"

She tried to pick the wings off, but obviously could not. The children were confused and worried.

"Miss Fairy's acting weird." The boy said with a tilted head.

"P-please excuse me!"

After a bow, Senki ran out of the park quick as a flash. The eyes of the many people there observed her, then quickly turned to resume their activities.

Entering the town, many more people stared at her. Senki was confused, scared and panicked.

"Wh-where am I?! What is this place?!"

Hands rested on her heart, she felt herself shaking.

"The girl mentioned flower houses! Where are the flower houses?!"

She was about to cross the road when the pedestrian lights turned red, and the traffic lights turned green.

Cars were about to pass by. Senki was in the middle of the road when one honked.

BEEP BEEP!

"WAAAAAAAH!"

Senki took a quick leap into the air, and her pale wings lit up and glistened brighter. The car passed by and left.

"What was THAT metal thing?!

. . .

Eh?!"

Senki looked down. She was unafraid of such height, but the fact that she was flying utterly surprised her.

"What the-? I am floating!"

The people in the sidewalks stared at the fairy in awe. There were several families, and children, as well.

Senki screamed.

"WAAAAAAH! EVERYONE IS STARING!"

In such a quick motion, Senki flew away to hide, utterly embarrassed.

Even one girl and her rabbit companion*, who visited the town, saw the young fairy princess as she flew away.

LATER...

"That was terrible! Very, very terrible!"

Senki landed in Central Everspring Avenue. Across the road of that avenue was a small shop. It called Senki's attention due to the leafy and flowery details it had.

"Ah! A flower house! I finally found one!"

Crossing the road carefully, Senki proceeded to enter the shop.

A bell rang upon opening the door, letting the person in charge know that a customer was there.

Said person in charge was a young lady in her early twenties. Dark auburn hair in a ponytail and burgundy irises, dressed in a worker's uniform, an apron and black shoes.

She was rearranging a set of collectibles before noticing Senki's presence and greeted her with a smile and a bow.

"Welcome! This is the Everspring Collectibles Shop! If anything catches your interest, don't hesitate to ask!"

The young lady continued her work. Senki looked around in awe. There were many trinkets and figures, statues and boxes.

Among the trinkets and boxes in one of the shelves was a shimmering compact with the most intricate design. Next to it was a golden key. Senki's eyes glimmered, the items caught her attention greatly.

"Whoa! So shiny!"

Her hand reached out to pick it up, but the lady was quick to approach.

"HEY! That's a special set!"

"Eh?" Senki glanced at the other with big eyes.

"Ahem!" The lady cleared her throat. "That compact and key are a rare set I just found! I figured they're in mint condition, so I put them up for sale!"

Senki gently set the compact and key down on the shelf.

"You sell items that you find?" She tilted her head.

The lady shook her head. "Just this set! Everything else has been passed to me by my family's company to sell here!"

Senki smiled big. "Wow! That is epic epic!"

"Epic epic?" The lady repeated, then smiled. "It is, isn't it?

I'm Hotaru. Hotaru Akabane. What's your name?"

"U-uh..."

Senki thought and thought and thought... but she couldn't remember her name.

"I am..."

"Thank goodness! I found you at last!"

The bell rang once more, someone else entered the shop. She seemed relieved, like a problem had just been solved.

"Eh?" Senki and Hotaru turned to see the person in question.

She was a tall young lady with short, navy-blue hair, piercing blue eyes and dressed in a knight's uniform.

"Princess. I am here."

"Princess?" Hotaru raised a brow.

For a moment it seemed that the knight forgot that she was not in her homeland.

"Oh! Ahem! It is a nickname I used to give her when we were kids. It escaped again, my mistake."

Hotaru's expression changed to a more relaxed one. "Oh, I see. So, you two are close friends?"

Senki was befuddled, simply staring at the knight with a blank expression.

"Who is she? I do not remember seeing her before."

"Yes." She approached Senki. "I have been looking for her all over the city!" She turned to look down at the princess. "I am glad you are safe, Senki-chan!"

The knight hugged Senki, who was still confused. She was as still as a pole.

"Huh?"

"Princess Senki..." The knight whispered. "...do you not remember me?"

". . ."

Senki's mind was blank. She could not remember.

...

Floating at a high altitude, but not far from the shop, was one of the six Outlaws that invaded Pixie Kingdom Castle in Faeland.

The Pirate.

"I can sense Fairy Energy nearby..."

A smirk and a cold chuckle, the Pirate held in his hand a black icosahedral gem.

"...the Princess is here."

THAT EVENING...

Hotaru turned off the "OPEN" sign for the shop and locked the doors after the last customer of the day left.

"Whew! Well, that's another day done!"

"You are amazing, Hotaru-san!" Exclaimed Senki. "You must be working so hard to achieve lots of sales!"

Hotaru chuckled. "I wish to keep this lil' ol' business running! Hopefully one day I'll expand the shop and sell more things!"

"It sounds incredible." Smiled the knight. "You are a wonderful worker, Hotaru-san. I hope that one day you achieve your dream."

"I do too! Well, I've a few things to work on before heading upstairs! So why don't you guys go ahead?"

"Upstairs?" Senki asked.

"Yes! This shop is also my home! Feel free to see it!"

"Ah! You work and live in this flower house?" Senki smiled. "How wonderful!"

Hotaru blinked. "Eh... it's not a flower house."

Everything turned silent for a fraction of a second before Senki yelled.

"EEEEEEEEH?! B-b-b-b-but I just found it!"

The knight rested a hand on Senki's shoulder to help her calm down.

"Senki-chan, let us go upstairs and calm down. You need your daily tea."

"There's some mint tea in the kitchen!" Said Hotaru. "Please help yourselves!"

"Okay!"

The knight helped Senki walk up the steps to the residence that Hotaru owned. As she made all arrangements to finish her work for the day, Hotaru swore that those two were a part of a contest that was going to take place at the park.

"Perhaps they're signing up for that contest tomorrow? Is that why they're both in cosplay?

Huh. Interesting. That fairy cosplayer has realistic pointy ears. It's not like I'll talk to her about it, though."

...

The knight gestured the princess to sit down on the couch while she prepared and served the tea.

Once ready, she offered the cup to her.

"Here, Princess Senki..."

"Thank you."

Senki gently took the cup, and curiously looked at the tea she was offered.

"It smells nice."

The knight walked towards the window to check the area that surrounded the shop.

"I heard it is called 'mint'. Such herb is certainly not of our world."

After a sip or two, Senki spoke.

"Hey, miss knight! You mentioned a princess?

Who is the princess you are looking for? I hope she is not in trouble!"

Turning to look at Senki, the knight smiled.

"She is not. In fact, I have already found her."

"Huh?" A head tilt from the princess in confusion.

"That princess is you, Senki Hanaoka."

Senki's eyes widened. "You know me?!"

"Yes. But we cannot discuss this right now. Hotaru-san might hear us. She must not know our secret."

"I'm here!" Hotaru's voice rang as she walked up the steps.

"Welcome back, Hotaru-san." The knight smiled.

Hotaru threw herself to the bed with a big sigh.

"My work is alllll done! Now to get a good night's rest!"

She sat up.

"Oh! By the way, you two must be hungry! I figured you're new to town, you must be tired as well!"

GRRRRRRRR!

Senki held a hand to her stomach.

"Oh? Senki-chan, are you hungry?" The knight looked down at her.

Senki groaned. "Starving..."

Hotaru chuckled and jumped off the bed.

"Don't worry! There's a food court near here! I can order us something!"

...

After several minutes, the three girls enjoyed a succulent three-meat and vegetable pizza.

"Wow! This food is great! What kind of meal is this?" The knight asked. "It is certainly not like the stuffed meals that we eat back in our homeland."

She carefully observed the ingredients in the pizza, blinking.

"Each ingredient is on top of the dough."

"This is a pizza!" Hotaru replied. "It's one of our most favorite meals in Everspring Town! I like to order one every Friday night!"

The two stopped talking to observe the fairy princess. She ate a lot of the pizza at once.

"It is so delicious!"

The knight gasped! "Senki-chan, please eat slowly!"

"I guess Senki-san truly loves pizza!" Hotaru grinned.

Everyone laughed.

"Hey, I must ask, are you two signing up for the cosplay contest tomorrow?" Hotaru asked.

"Cosplay contest?" Both the princess and the knight blinked twice.

"Yes! At Everspring Park there will be a cosplay contest! I heard that the best cosplay wins a big prize!"

"Oh! Uh..." The knight thought of an idea. "Well, we had a party at our friend's house before departing to this city. Everything happened so fast that we forgot to change to our regular clothes!"

"Ah, I see! Well, let me see what I can find for you two." Hotaru stood from the table to walk to her closet room.

"You are lending us your clothes?" Senki asked.

Looking into the many sets of outfits in the hangers, Hotaru smiled. "Don't worry! I have clothes that my younger siblings left behind that are just about your size! They've outgrown them, so both of you can keep them!"

Hotaru helped the girls by making a selection of clothes that were just about their size. After a change of clothes or two, Senki and the knight wore casual outfits that perfectly fit them!

The knight wore a light blue blouse, navy blue pants and white sneakers.

Senki wore a green and pink dress with a pink chest bow, green boots, and adorned her head with a pink headband.

Hotaru smiled and clapped her hands in approval!

"Wow! You two look so cute and amazing!"

"Really?" Senki replied.

"These surely are comfortable." The knight turned to Hotaru. "Thank you, Hotaru-san."

"Hey, it's no problem! I like to help!"

Later on, as the girls prepared for bed, Senki took Hotaru's words into consideration, analyzing what she said thoroughly...

"I heard that the best cosplay wins a big prize!

Hopefully one day I'll expand the shop and sell even more things!"

Sitting up, she turned her gaze towards her.

"Hey, Hotaru-san?"

Hotaru opened her eyes and paid attention to Senki. "Yes, Senki-san?"

"Why do you not attend?"

Hotaru sat up. "Hm?"

"The contest! What if that big prize you talked about is lots of money?

You could use it to expand your shop!"

"Oh! Heheheh... Senki, ah..." She scratched her head. "You see, I have a busy schedule and arranged duties during the week. I can't exactly attend, even if I wanted to.

Doing this is a big deal for me. It's my dream to carry on my family's old business and bring it to fruition!

They may have moved on to work on their company full time now, but they would never forget about this shop!

So, it's my job to keep it up and running!"

"Your family worked here, too?" The princess asked, full of curiosity.

"Yes. They owned this shop ever since I was younger. This was their first ever business.

While Papa worked on the company that keeps this business running, Mama was the manager of the shop.

Mama entrusted the shop to me last year. And now they work together to keep their big company functioning.

You see, their company is the sole base of this shop. Without their job, mine would be affected. I wouldn't be able to sell items, nor get any resources."

"I see." Senki comprehended. "That is why you are so dedicated to this shop."

"Yep! And I'm not afraid of running it on my own!" Hotaru smiled! "Mama showed me the basics before, so I can manage it well!

I would appreciate if I could get at least two people to help with inventory and cleanup. Sometimes the stuff I have can get a little dusty, and work gets a lot harder without any assistance."

"Then let us help!" Senki stood on her feet, but this resulted in a small chuckle from Hotaru.

"Senki-san, you cannot work with me right now. Judging by your looks, you look, um... fourteen."

She then stared at the knight.

"And your friend here looks sixteen-ish."

The knight chuckled. "Senki has always been so determined, and a little stubborn."

"Eh?!" Senki stared at the knight.

"In any case, Senki..." Hotaru continued. "...I can't really enter the contest. It looks like a lot of fun, truly. But I have business to take care of.

However, should you decide to enter, given that amazing fairy costume of yours, I'll be cheering you on from here!" Hotaru winked.

Senki's smile grew big. It was a perfect opportunity!

"Okay! I will do it!"

"Eh?" The knight stared at Senki.

"I will enter the contest and win for Hotaru-san! With the big prize, Hotaru-san will be able to get more resources and sell precious collectibles!"

Hotaru smiled warmly. "You're too kind, Senki-san."

A yawn escaped from her. It was just about time for bed. Hotaru laid back down.

"Good night, everyone."

"Good night, Hotaru-san." The knight smiled. "We truly appreciate your hospitality."

"It's... no problem at all... ZzzzZzzzZzz..."

And off she drifted to sleep, slightly snoring. Senki giggled quietly.

"Princess Senki." The knight whispered. "Let us go to the kitchen.

There is something I need to tell you."

LATER THAT NIGHT...

The two sat down near a table to talk, cups of warm tea in hand.

"Princess Senki Hanaoka."

"Huh?" Senki blinked once, staring at the other.

"You were brought to this world by a Fae Portal that opened up after you used a power of immeasurable strength.

Your mother, the Queen of Faeland, entrusted me to find and look after you."

Senki was surprised to hear this, having no knowledge of it whatsoever. "Queen?! Mother?!"

The knight placed three items on the table, a compact, a key, and a shimmering blue token.

"Eh?! You bought this from Hotaru-san as well?"

The knight shook her head. "These are my Treasure Pact, Treasure Key and Paladin PreCoin. With these items, I can transform into the Precure of water and calmness, Cure Paladin."

"Cure Paladin? Precure?" Senki's eyes spiraled from the many words from the other. "Just what are you saying?"

"What I am saying is, the Treasure Pact and Key that Hotaru-san put up for sale were yours all along.

This is no coincidence, Princess. These items found their way to you, just like the Queen said."

Senki took out her own Treasure Pact and Key and stared at them as they shone. The knight bought them for her earlier.

"I wonder how Hotaru-san managed to find them first, but with your arrival, it is nothing short of fate.

The Faeflower was not wrong in choosing you to become a Precure. A special one at that."

"Me?! A Precure?!" Senki nearly yelled, but stopped herself and covered her mouth with a gasp, remembering that Hotaru was sleeping.

They both could hear a loud snore. Senki sighed in relief.

"But... how is this possible?" She lowered her voice. "I can somehow jump too high off the ground, and I have these things on my back and..."

The knight interrupted her. "Wait, you used Fairy Energy?"

"Fairy Energy?" Senki tilted her head. "What is that?"

The other stood and walked towards the window, putting the drapes so that nobody could see through.

"This is bad. If Fairy Energy has been detected by those Outlaws... then that means..."

"Outlaws?" Senki asked.

The other turned to her. "Bandits that appeared in Faeland. They are responsible for summoning Dungeonborgs when you first became a Precure during your special ceremony.

You saved us all that day..."

"Dungeon- what now?"

"Dungeonborgs." The knight explained. "They are mindless servants of a greater evil, Tengoku. The Outlaws used Dungeon Energy to summon them.

But the more Dungeon Energy they use, the more they have the chance to release Tengoku from the seal which you casted to save Faeland.

And if Tengoku gets his hands on Fairy Energy, or the Faeflower itself, Faeland will meet its downfall."

There seemed to be something in the fairy princess' mind, but it was a blur. She held her head in her hands.

"Ngh..."

The knight noticed this, and quickly approached her.

"Princess, do you remember something?"

But ultimately, Senki couldn't remember much, so she shook her head.

"I am sorry."

The other rested a hand on her head to gently stroke it. "That is alright. I do not expect you to remember things so soon. The power you used went above and beyond your own strength."

Withdrawing, the knight served some more tea on a cup.

"Well, the Fae Pad will soon activate again. Reina Manabu of the Faelandian Royal Assembly, as well as the Royal Pixie Twins, should arrive here in a few days' time."

"Faelandian Royal Assembly?" Senki repeated. "Royal Pixie Twins?"

The other took a sip of the tea. "Yes. And like us, Reina is a Precure. Cure Wizard, the Precure of lightning and wisdom."

She sat back down near the table. Senki continued to listen.

"The Royal Pixie Twins are assigned to select the nine Precures. So far it is only three of us. Hopefully one day all nine Precures will save Faeland from Tengoku's scheme and rescue the Faelandian King, your father."

Senki slightly gasped.

"Along with Faefly, Reina and the Pixie Twins will come here to send you home to your mother." The knight smiled warmly. "I am so glad you are safe, Princess. I swore to the King and Queen that I would protect you. You are like a little sister to me, so I will look after you and make sure you do not get in trouble."

Her heart was happy. Despite not remembering her, Senki put her trust in her, and gave her a big, warm hug. The knight was taken aback by this gesture before returning the hug.

"Thank you... um... Oh, goodness!" Senki withdrew from the hug. "I did not get your name!"

The other also withdrew to lay down on the bed.

"Oh! I am Matilda. Matilda Gouriki.

Please, get some good rest, Princess Senki. I will prepare us breakfast in the morning."

"Okay!" Senki smiled. "It is nice to meet you, Matilda-san!"

And with that, the lights were turned off and both girls dozed off. Although at first, Matilda's heart saddened at those words. It was as if they met for the first time.

She hoped that one day, Senki would recover her memories.

That night was calm, quiet...

THE NEXT DAY...

Just like Matilda said, the Fae Pad activated, and a Fae Portal opened up in the bedroom, brightening the area before disappearing.

Two small figures came out of the portal.

"Pssst! Ringo! Look! It is the Princess -gogo!" A girl's voice whispered. "We found her -gogo!"

"Keep it down, Ichigo! The Princess' sleep must not be interrupted -gogo!" A boy's voice responded.

Senki began to stir. Hotaru got up early to start her work, and Matilda was preparing breakfast. Senki remained in bed but was about to wake.

"Look! She wakes! Ringo! To your position -gogo!"

"Yes!"

Senki opened her eyes, yawning afterward.

"That was such a nice sleep. Now, to get ready for the..."

It was when she sat up that she saw two identical twins, about seven inches tall.

Small pixies with bright, colorful wings, they stood together on the bedside table.

"Good morning -gogo."

"WAAAAAAAAAAAH! BUGS! BIG BUGS IN THE HOUSE!"

Her noisy voice as well as a loud ruckus caused the customers on the floor below to look up. Hotaru did as well, and with a sweatdrop and a nervous chuckle, she turned to the customers.

"Eheheh! It's nothing to worry! My friend must be playing around!"

Matilda heard the commotion too. She was done cooking breakfast, so she went to check on Senki.

"BEGONE, BIG BUGS! BEGONE!" Senki attempted to get the Pixie twins out of the room by opening the window.

"Princess Senki!" Pixie Ichigo crossed her arms and huffed. "This is absurd behavior -gogo!"

Soon Matilda stepped in the room.

"Princess! Are you...?"

Her worried expression turned into a smile upon noticing the two pixies.

"Ah! Ichigo! Ringo! It's you!"

The pixie twins turned to her and smiled. "Royal Knight Matilda!"

"Royal Knight Matilda?" Senki repeated with a head tilt.

With a squeal of joy, the pixies flew towards Matilda and gave her a hug.

"Eh?" Senki blinked. "Do you know these bugs, Matilda-san?"

"Hahahah!" Matilda laughed heartwarmingly. "Princess, these are not bugs. They are the Royal Pixie Twins, the two assigned to choose the Precures!"

Matilda gestured her hand towards the pixies.

"Ichigo, the Faelandian Pixie of strawberries.

And Ringo, the Faelandian Pixie of apples."

Both pixies bowed before the princess. "Princess."

Senki blinked. "I do not remember them."

"EEEEEEEH?!" Both Ichigo and Ringo gasped. "YOU DO NOT REMEMBER US -GOGO?!"

Matilda sighed, frowning. "Ichigo, Ringo. We need to discuss what happened."

MOMENTS LATER...

"So that is what happened -gogo?" Ringo asked.

"That is bad!" Said Ichigo. "With the King missing and Dungeon Energy on the rise... and without all nine Precures -gogo..."

"We need to make haste to find the rest." Matilda responded. "Ichigo, Ringo, have you found the Venture PreCoin?"

"Venture PreCoin?" Asked Senki.

"The PreCoin of the spirit of adventure." Matilda explained. "It was in your possession, along with three other PreCoins, during your ceremony. But Tengoku stole the Max PreCoin, and with Dungeon Energy, he destroyed the rest. Only the Venture PreCoin remained.

I suppose it is still missing."

"Actually -gogo..."

In Ringo's hands was a tiny fragment of a pink coin.

"Tengoku destroyed the Venture PreCoin as well -gogo."

Matilda's pupils shrank. "What?!"

"The Queen allowed us to take Fae Dust from the Faeflower to fix it, but despite all the time it took, it barely grew its size -gogo.

More Fae Dust is needed to fully fix it -gogo."

Senki turned to them. "You can fix PreCoins?"

"Yes -gogo!" Ichigo smiled. "It is a special power that only the Pixie Twins can master! With Fairy Energy in its raw form, a destroyed PreCoin can be brought back to its regular state -gogo!"

"That is incredible!" Senki replied.

"There is one problem -gogo..." Ringo's turned sad.

"Eh?" Matilda glanced at the whimpering pixie.

"What is it?" Asked Senki, tilting her head.

Poor Ringo cried. "We do not have any more Fae Dust -gogo!"

Senki and Matilda stared at each other with immense worry, while Ichigo comforted her dear brother.

"What should we do -gogo?!"

"Wait!" Matilda exclaimed, thinking of something.

Ringo stopped crying. He and Ichigo as well as Senki turned to Matilda.

"Princess, you were given Fae Dust during your ceremony. You must have it with you right now."

Standing up, Matilda went to look at their Faelandian clothes. Fortunately, she found a pouch in the pocket of Senki's gown.

"Fae Dust -gogo!" Ichigo's and Ringo's eyes sparkled.

Returning to the table, Matilda gave the pouch to the pixies.

"This should be enough to fix the Venture PreCoin. Now it is up to you to bring Cure Venture back."

Senki smiled.

"Okay -gogo!" A cheerful Ichigo threw a fist to the air!

"We will do our very best -gogo!" Ringo smiled.

Opening the pouch, the pixies let the Fae Dust fall onto the fragment of the coin.

"Oh, Fae Dust, fix the Venture PreCoin -gogo!"

The fragment shone a magical light and began to float. Senki watched with big eyes as this occurred.

It soon disappeared into a small purse that Ichigo carried.

"Wait..." Senki blinked in confusion. "What happened to the fragment?"

"It is being fixed -gogo!" Ichigo tapped the purse. "The power to repair PreCoins is with us! So, once it is fixed, our magic will bring it back to you -gogo!"

"Senki-san!" Hotaru stepped in the room.

"GOGO-!"

Ichigo and Ringo hid away, but it was already too late, as Hotaru discovered their secret.

There was a silence between her, Matilda and Senki.

". . ."

Hotaru blinked twice before breaking the silence.

"What's going on?"

EVEN LATER...

The preparations for the cosplay contest were almost done! The citizens of Everspring Town reunited at the park to witness the event!

Senki and Matilda wore their Faelandian outfits to go to the contest, but before they left, Hotaru stopped them.

"So, I see how this is."

"Eh?" Senki raised a brow.

"You guys are two of those superheroes I heard about.

Precure, right?"

"H-Hotaru-san!" Senki stuttered. "It is not what you think!"

"Princess." Matilda interrupted. "She saw Ichigo and Ringo.

It is too late. Our secret is out now."

Hotaru frowned before glancing at them. "I didn't think I'd meet two Precures, and so soon!

I'm sorry for meddling in your secret. It wasn't my intention, really."

"Hotaru-san, you must not speak to anyone about this." Said Matilda in a strict manner.

Hotaru scratched her head. "It's okay! I know how to keep a good secret!"

Senki smiled in relief. So did Matilda.

"Hey, what is this?"

The curious princess turned to a lot of wooden figures shaped like bunnies on a shelf.

"Ah, that'd be my bunny figurine collection." Hotaru approached the shelf to look at the figurines. "I crafted them myself, but they're so dull and boring. They'll never sell."

Senki examined the figurines. They were plain and bunny-shaped, with no color, only the natural color of wood.

"They are cute, but they could be cuter with colors!"

"Eh?" Hotaru stared at Senki with big eyes.

"Yes! What if we paint these with many different colors and draw cute little faces on them? Everyone loves things that are cute and adorable!

Why do you not try it, Hotaru-san?"

Hotaru's eyes glimmered, and she nodded.

"Okay! Drawing cute animals is not my forte, but I'll try my best!"

Senki believed in her talent. She knew just how dedicated Hotaru was.

"I know you can do it!"

"Did you hear? The contest is starting!" A customer said. She and two others left the shop in a hurry.

"You should get going." Said Hotaru. "I'll paint the bunnies and put them up for sale."

"Do your best, Hotaru-san." Matilda cheered her on.

...

"We are heading out!"

"Good luck in the contest!"

Senki and Matilda hurried to Everspring Park. Matilda always stood by the princess' side, guiding her every step of the way.

AT EVERSPRING PARK...

"Epic Epic!" Senki yelled with joy.

The park was full of people, and the stage was nothing short of wonderful and colorful. The hosts of the event made all preparations while the contestants waited on a line behind the stage.

"There is lots of people, and everything is so sparkly and colorful! This is amazing, Matilda-san!"

"Indeed." Matilda replied with a smile. "Now, let us talk to those in charge of the contest."

"Are the two of you contestants as well?" A female asked.

Senki and Matilda turned to the direction of her voice and greeted her with a smile.

"That will be us!" Said Matilda.

"I'm the host of the cosplay contest!" The lady said. "It's nice to meet you two!"

"Nice to meet you!" Senki exclaimed. "I am Princess Senki of..."

Matilda stepped in front of her, as to not uncover their secret further.

"Fairy Princess!" She exclaimed louder. "And I am a knight!"

"A fairy princess and a knight?" The lady smiled. "How amazing! Please, come this way!"

The two waited on the line with the other contestants, who admired their outfits.

"Wow! The fairy princess is so cute!" A girl said.

"And the knight! She looks so strong and brave!" A boy replied. "Those two will undoubtedly win the contest!"

After a moment, the contest began, and the public cheered for the contestants.

Senki and Matilda, and all the other contestants, had lots of fun participating, until it was time for the winner to be announced.

"Okay, everyone! Voting is officially closed!" The host announced. "And the winner of the Everspring Cosplay Contest iiiiiiiis..."

Senki clasped her hands together, shutting her eyes close.

"Fairy Princess and the Knight! Fairy Princess and the Knight!"

"...Mermaid Princess Aqua!"

The public cheered louder, clapping for the winner.

A girl dressed in a blue mermaid gown was the winner. Senki and Matilda clapped.

"Her gown is incredible!" Senki smiled. "I am sure she put lots of hard work into it!"

"Indeed." Matilda replied.

Looking up to the sky, Senki thought.

"Hotaru-san... I hope your business is doing well."

From a distance, the Pirate stared at the crowd.

"Look at them... all laughing and having a good time.

Heh. It is about time I join them as well."

He landed near the stage, and the host saw him.

Her eyes gleamed.

"Oh! I haven't seen a single pirate cosplayer in the contest!"

Matilda, who overhead this, gasped.

"Pirate?"

Senki looked at her with worry. "Matilda-san, what is wrong?"

She looked left and right, the contestants were close, so she kept a low profile.

"Fairy Princess, please stay here."

She ran off.

"Wait! Matilda-san!" Senki yelled.

...

"Well, it's too bad!" Said the host. "Mermaid Princess Aqua won this year's contest! Come back next year to compete for a big prize!"

The Pirate scoffed. "I am not here for some lousy prize. I am here for something greater."

"Pirate!" Matilda yelled, standing in a battle stance.

The host looked at the two, then ran away.

"Ah, the Faelandian Royal Knight is here!"

"Why are you here?!" The brave knight demanded answers.

"How about I give you a little head start?" He took a few steps forward, holding the gloomy Black Dice in his hand.

"I am here to take the Princess of Faeland and bring her to my master."

His piercing eyes looked around for an object of interest. On a corner of the stage he saw a butterfly shaped sign.

"Today, right now..."

The Black Dice shimmered, the power of Dungeon Energy swelling within it.

"Starting Point! Dungeon Energy, emerge!"

The Pirate tossed the Black Dice towards the butterfly sign.

"Go, Dungeonborg!"

Upon encrusting itself in the sign, the Dungeon Energy transformed it into a gigantic monster with strong arms, legs, and wings.

Its singular red eye opened, and a deep voice roared.

"DUNGEONBORG!"

The crowd watched as this happened, stepping back with evident fear.

"What is that?!" A lady asked.

"It's not a mechanical suit or a cosplayer!" A young boy exclaimed.

Senki, who stayed behind the stage, also witnessed the awakening of the monster.

"A Dungeonborg?

! ! !"

Her eyes grew big as she remembered what Matilda said...

"Dungeonborgs. They are mindless servants of a greater evil, Tengoku. The Outlaws used Dungeon Energy to summon them."

Images flashed in Senki's mind.

A throne room, the rising Dungeonborgs...

"...!

I remember something..."

...

"Aaaaah!"

The people ran away whilst the monster stomped forward.

"DUNGEONBORG!"

"Look for the Princess." The Pirate grinned. "Bring her to me."

The Dungeonborg obeyed his command, turning around to face the stage. Its eye focused on Princess Senki.

"! ! !"

Matilda gasped, turning around. "Princess Senki!"

The Dungeonborg stomped on the stage, destroying it. Senki stepped back but stumbled and fell to the soil.

"Dungeonborg!"

"WAAAAAAAH!"

The monster reached out to grab her, but a wooden sword hit its arm, and it turned its eye to see who it was.

"Borg?"

Matilda quickly ran towards Senki, standing in front of her to protect her.

"Matilda-san!"

She looked back at Senki to make sure she was okay before looking back at the monster.

The Dungeonborg faced Matilda, who held out her Treasure Pact, Treasure Key and PreCoin.

"Your opponent will be me!"

In a sparkly blue background, Matilda's uniform turned into a glowing blue gown, and she held out the Pact.

"Treasure Pact, Unlock!"

Using the Key, she opened the Pact and inserted the PreCoin in the space below the D20 dice.

"Paladin!"

The dice turned blue and started glowing.

"Precure! Dice Roll Start!"

After rolling the dice, a number 2 appeared in magical light, and after a quick transformation, the knight's uniform changed to her very own Precure suit.

"Wave of calmness, Cure Paladin!" Magic splashed outward after introducing herself, and Cure Paladin pointed a single finger towards her enemy.

"Bathe yourself in deep tranquility!"

Senki's eyes couldn't be wider. Standing strong and with a flowing cape, Cure Paladin glanced at her opponent.

"So Epic Epic..." Senki whispered.

"Do not just stand there!" The Pirate yelled. "Attack!"

"DUNGEONBORG!"

The monster fought with a strong fist, but Cure Paladin held it with one hand and lifted the monster up in the air.

"Yaaaaaah!"

With immense strength, she tossed the monster off to a distance, where it crashed to the ground.

"Princess Senki..." Paladin looked down at her. "...I will protect you!

I am your appointed knight!"

Senki gasped and smiled.

"Thank you, Cure Paladin!"

The Precure jumped towards the monster, her hands glowing to perform an attack.

"You will not harm the princess!"

Droplets magically floated out of her palms.

"Spread out, Paladin Mist!"

Like a smokebomb, the field was engulfed in blinding mist.

"Dungeon? Borg?" The monster itself could not see its surroundings.

SMACK! SMACK! SMACK!

One strike after another, Cure Paladin struck the icosahedral gem in the Dungeonborg's chest, stunning it and making a visible dent in the gem.

"DUNGEONBORG!"

But the monster flapped its large wings to get rid of the mist. As a result of its strong power, Cure Paladin was pushed off by the winds that followed.

"Aaaah!"

"Cure Paladin!"

Everything went silent. Only the sound of Senki's heartbeat as it raced could be heard. Her pupils shrank, her breathing went shaky and heavy, and her hands shook.

"I will help her!"

She ran to the battlefield to help Cure Paladin, standing in front of her with her arms extended to her sides.

"STOP IT!"

"Borg?"

The Pirate's eyes widened. "The Princess!"

Cure Paladin tried to stand, grunting. "Princess Senki, get out of here!"

"But...!"

The Pirate, realizing the Princess was close, grinned.

"Heh. She fell right into my trap."

With the snap of his fingers, the Pirate used the Black Dice's power to lift her off the ground.

"Waaaah!"

Paladin watched in horror as this happened. "Princess Senki!"

A dark aura engulfed the fairy princess, stealing her Fairy Enery. Sparkles of light magic left her body, being absorbed into the Black Dice in the Dungeonborg's chest.

"Aaaaaah!"

The Pirate cackled. "Hahahahah! This is just peachy! Just a little longer and all of your Fairy Energy will be mine!"

"I will not let you!"

Paladin stood strong to attack once more, taking out the Treasure Pact and Key.

Unlocking the Pact and inserting the Paladin PreCoin, she chanted...

"Dice Roll! Paladin!"

Then, Cure Paladin rolled the dice, which lit up a blue light.

Water flowed in her palms.

"Surge!

Precure Paladin Stream!"

The monster was struck by the strong stream of water, and the dent in its gem grew. Its power was weakening, and the stolen Fairy Energy returned to Senki's body.

The dark aura that held Senki in the air faded away, and she fell, but Paladin saved her, carrying her in her arms.

"Princess Senki!" Paladin gently shook her by the shoulders. "Are you okay?"

Senki opened her eyes and smiled.

"Cure Paladin...

Yes!"

"Dungeonbooooorg!"

The Dugeonborg flailed its arms and legs desperately. The Pirate was not happy.

"Tch! Get up, Dungeonborg!"

"Hey!"

"Hm?"

The Outlaw looked down at Senki. The Faelandian princess confronted him.

"Why are you doing this? That is not Epic Epic at all!"

"Why do you care?" The Pirate shrugged. "Your PreCoin is gone, so you should give up and come with me.

I would be very pleased to report to Tengoku about the capture of the one Faelandian capable of using Fairy Energy."

Senki's hands rolled into fists.

"I will not let you!

This Fairy Energy, whatever it is that I possess... I will not let you take it!

I may not remember who I am, but I know one thing for sure!"

Closing her eyes, she reminisced everything she saw, and thought of the people she met along the way.

"Matilda-san... Hotaru-san...

This entire place... Everspring Town...

I will use this Fairy Energy to protect it!

And!"

Her fists shook and tears streamed down her face.

"I will live epic adventures with my friends!"

A bright pink light shone from her heart. It was so bright it was almost blinding. Such was the dormant power of the Princess upon awakening.

"Eh?!" Senki looked down at herself. "What is this light?!"

"That light..." The Pirate covered his eyes, before yelling. "NOOO! The Precure of adventures must NOT awaken! DUNGEONBORG!"

"Dungeonborg!"

"We will not let you -gogo!"

The Dungeonborg's incoming fist clashed with a strawberry shaped shield.

"Borg?"

"Ichigo! Ringo!" Senki exclaimed.

"Ichigo! I can feel Fairy Energy overflowing -gogo!" Said Ringo.

"Could it be -gogo?" Ichigo looked at her brother, who nodded.

"Yes! It is time -gogo!"

Joining hands, the Pixie Twins chanted.

"Venture PreCoin, come out -gogo!"

A ray of light left Ichigo's purse and flew up to the sky. The once fragment took the shape of a sparkling pink token.

The Venture PreCoin, which fell and bounced on the soil with a ding to Senki's hand. It began to shine in her hand.

Matilda smiled.

"Eh?" Senki looked at her hand holding the PreCoin. "Could this be...?"

"Princess Senki Hanaoka!" Ichigo flew towards her. "Use the PreCoin to transform into the Precure of adventures -gogo!"

"Precure of adventures?" Senki tilted her head.

"Yes! You may not know it now, but with time you will surely remember -gogo!" Said Ringo.

Ichigo then proceeded to give the instructions on how to use the magical items.

"Unlock the Treasure Pact with the Treasure Key and insert the Venture PreCoin in it! And say 'Precure! Dice Roll Start!' before rolling the dice -gogo!"

Senki already had an idea of how it worked and smiled.

"Ah! I saw Cure Paladin do it!

I'll do it, too!"

In a pink, sparkly background, Senki's fairy gown turned into a glowing pink one. Her hair elastic straps magically disappeared, letting her hair loose.

"Treasure Pact, Unlock!"

She used the Treasure Key to open the Treasure Pact and inserted the Venture PreCoin in the space below the dice.

"Venture!"

The dice above glowed a pink light.

Extending her hand holding the Pact out, Senki chanted.

"Precure! Dice Roll Start!"

After a wave of her hand, she rolled the dice, and a number 1 appeared in magical light.

Lots and lots of sparkles flew out of the Pact, first engulfing her arms to create gloves, then her feet to create shoes, then the gown to create the uniform. In her uniform was also a magenta bow and a golden shield shaped brooch with the group's insignia.

Senki's hair grew in length and turned bubblegum pink, and several strands of her hair braided together, and ribbons tied at the end of each braid. Her head was adorned with a golden flower circlet, and sparks created a necklace and earrings. Her eyes turned sparkling pink.

And finally, a leafy belt appeared, in which the Treasure Pact was set in a pouch.

The light disappeared with a strong shockwave, revealing the spirit of adventure herself.

"Impossible!" The Pirate screamed. "Tengoku-sama destroyed the Venture PreCoin!"

Senki transformed! She stared at the Pirate with an unwavering expression before looking down at herself.

"Huh?

WAAAAAAAAH! WHAT IS THIS?!"

She flailed her arms and turned around, before her expression changed to a big smile.

"EPIC EPIC!"

The princess spun and did tiny hops of excitement, admiring her Precure form.

The Pirate sighed.

"Let's get this over with already.

Attack, Dungeonborg!"

The monster finally jumped to its feet.

"DUNGEONBORG!"

The princess moved one foot back and glanced at the monster before running at it. Her speed was twice her normal running speed. She was impressed.

"Wow! How fast!

Okay! Time to bring down this Dungeonborg!"

She gained speed towards the monster.

"It is game on!"

She jumped up and punched the Dungeonborg with a strong uppercut. The Pirate's jaw dropped. The Dungeonborg fell to the ground again.

"Eh?! She is stronger than before!"

Cure Paladin's smile widened.

Landing on the soil, Senki looked down at her hands.

"So strong!"

"Hey! Stop ruining my plans, you... you..."

It seemed that the Pirate didn't get her name.

"WHO EVEN ARE YOU?!"

Holding a hand to her heart, Senki closed her eyes.

"I am..."

It was Senki's turn to introduce herself.

"Spirit of adventure, Cure Venture!" Sparkles bursted after introducing herself. Then, Cure Venture extended her hand forward.

"Let the epic adventures begin!"

"Dungeon... Borg!"

The monster lunged at her.

"WAAAAAAAH!"

Cure Venture jumped up to the air, but she didn't expect to be so high up.

"Eh?!" She flailed her arms desperately. "Wh-wh-wh-waaaaaaah! What is happening?!"

The monster used its wings to fly up and chase her.

"DUNGEONBORG!"

"! ! !"

But Senki retaliated. Her fists began to glow.

"Take THIS!"

BAM!

With a strong punch and a kick, the monster fell back down, but recovered itself with its strong wings and flew back up.

Senki, however, was about to fall.

"WAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"

"Princess Senki -gogo!"

The Pixie Twins quickly flew up to help her.

"I can't fly! I can't- WAAAAAAAAH!"

"Princess Senki!" The two caught up to her in the air. "Yes, you can! Get a hold of yourself -gogo!" Exclaimed Ichigo. "Use Fae Dust to summon your wings -gogo!"

"O-okay!"

Taking the pouch in her hand, Senki let it fall down onto herself, and a light shone.

A large pair of sparkling wings grew on her back, and with a strong flap, Senki was able to stop herself from falling.

She was flying!

"Ah! Epic Epic!" She smiled, admiring her wings.

The Pirate pointed ahead. "Do not give up now! GET HER!"

"DUNGEONBORG!"

The monster flew at her, but Venture avoided its attack by flying up. A trail of magic followed behind her.

"Haaaaaaaaaa!"

Summoning magic power, Senki attacked, striking the Black Dice and bringing the Dungeonborg back to the surface.

Its power was weak.

"Dungeonboooooorg..." Its eyes spiraled.

Venture landed next to Paladin. Ichigo and Ringo floated close to them.

"Princess! It is time! Use Venture Blast!" Said Paladin.

"Venture Blast?"

"Try to remember! You used this power against Tengoku before!

Please remember, Cure Venture!"

More images instantly appeared in the top of her mind. It was somehow becoming just a little clearer.

She remembered some of her powers.

Cure Venture opened her eyes.

"I remember!"

Opening the Treasure Pact with the Key, Cure Venture inserted the Venture PreCoin in the space below the dice once more.

"Dice Roll! Venture!"

She clapped once, and sparkles appeared in her hands.

"Fly forth!

Precure Epic Venture...

...Blast!"

Extending her hands forward, she shot a blast of magic at the Black Dice in the Dungeonborg's chest. The monster was surrounded by a barrier, unable to move.

"Finisher! Plus 100 Points!"

A glowing number 100 appeared on top of the monster before an explosion ensued.

"Concluded..."

The Dungeonborg disappeared, and the Black Dice was destroyed, revealing a shining PreCoin, which bounced on the ground before Senki caught it in her hand.

"Session complete!"

...

"Tch!" The Pirate gritted his teeth furiously.

"Cure Venture, this is only the beginning..." He said before disappearing in a dark portal.

Their surroundings magically turned back to normal. Senki's and Matilda's forms also went back to normal.

"What... was that?"

Senki felt her body going numb, and she collapsed.

"Princess Senki!"

Matilda caught her in her arms before she could hit the ground.

"She passed out -gogo." Said Ringo worriedly.

Standing up with an unconscious Senki in her arms, Matilda turned to the pixies.

"Let us go back to the shop."

LATER THAT AFTERNOON...

"Okay, I want to buy this one."

The same girl and her rabbit companion from before chose the last bunny figurine that Hotaru painted. It had cute accents of cyan and magenta with giltter surrounding it.

The girl had gray hair with magenta highlights styled in twin ponytails, crimson eyes and rabbit-like features, such as rabbit ears, nose, and a short tail. She wore a white shirt in a black, magenta and cyan hooded jacket, a black and light green skirt, cyan and magenta leggings and rabbit-like sneakers.

Completing the transaction, Hotaru smiled big!

"Thank you very much! That's the last of the bunny figurine collection! I've officially sold all of them!"

"I'm glad I could contribute to your goal." Said the girl with a warm smile. "It seems like a very special dream. Treasure it with your whole heart."

"I will!"

Footsteps were heard. It was...

"Ah! Senki-san, you're awake!"

The fairy princess looked a tad sleepy, rubbing her eyes.

"Hotaru-san, what happened?"

"Matilda-san told me you passed out. We'll talk about it tonight." Hotaru replied.

"Ah, the mysterious fairy girl." The other spoke.

Senki's eyes widened. "Eh?!"

"I saw you out there. Don't worry, your secret is safe with me."

She and the tiny rabbit exchanged looks.

"Now, let's go, Puca."

The little rabbit nodded. "Puca!"

Both Senki and Hotaru were astonished. "Puca?!"

"Wait, what is a Puca?" Senki asked, tilting her head.

...

The girl walked out of the shop, the bell ringing softly. "Thank you very much."

Hotaru waved. "Come back soon!"

It was break time for Hotaru! She closed the door and went to get some lunch!

"Who is that girl?" Senki blinked.

"I dunno', but she gives off Precure vibes." Hotaru munched on a pizza slice. "A lot!

Aaaaaand she bought the last of my bunny figurines!"

Senki smiled. "She did? That is amazing!"

"Yes!" Hotaru nodded. "Now I have space for my next collection! And! I gathered enough money for the shop's expansion!"

"So you still won after all!" Senki felt so happy for her.

"Yup! And it's thanks to you, Senki-san! Your idea worked 300 percent!

Now all it takes is to hire at least two employees and contact builders to work with the expansion!"

She sat back on a chair and let out a happy sigh.

"My shop is growing bigger! I'm so happy!"

Senki's heart overflowed with joy for Hotaru. She was always so determined and hard-working.

The three girls spent the rest of the day at the shop. They talked, laughed, and discussed their latest adventure together!

*It's Preme and Puca! I wanted to add them to this chapter of the fan fiction story! They're two of my favorite Precure characters!

I hope you all enjoyed!
