Chapter 13

3 weeks had gone past since Sora had landed on Mako. He hasn't heard a word from Donald and Goofy and Heartless were still hanging around the island. Since then he had enrolled as an exchange student at the local school to help blend in (with the help of magic from Yan Sid and the Good Fairies who also do not know why Donald and Goofy haven't been in touch). Within in these weeks, Sora has been getting to know his new friends as well as finding himself becoming the protector of Mako Island.

Rikki: I beat you all!

Emma: No i beat you all! I'm the fastest!

Rikki: You total lair!

Emma: Are you forgetting that i use to be a champion swimmer!

Rikki: Yeah back before we become mermaids Emma!

Cleo: Rikki don't be so nasty! How about we let Sora deicde...Sora?

Sora submerges from the water in the moon pool feeling all puffed trying to keep up with the three mermaids

Sora: Huh?

Emma: Who won?

Sora: Oh i didn't realise it was a race Ha ha! Plus I WAS busy taking care of those Heartless, that are hanging around the island!

Rikki: With our help of course!

Cleo: Thankfully our powers seemed to work against them too!

Sora: Yeah and all your powers are amazing! I appreciate your help from all of you!

Since Sora's arrival the girls had informed him that they also have powers since they became Mermaids. He soon found that his keyblade powers where very similar. Emma can freeze water and create ice and snow, Cleo can manipulate water and create wind and Rikki can boil water and has fire powers.

Emma: Do you think those things will ever go away? Its getting dangerous!

Sora: They are attracted to the keyblade and that's why they keep coming for us well more for me each time we come here. It just seems weird that they do not come in here or on the mainland!

Cleo: Wonder what's stopping them?

Sora: Don't know but i am determined to find out! I do however feel there is something in the air. I just wish that Donald and Goofy where here...

Emma: You miss you friends don't you Sora?

Sora (sighing): Gosh been here for 3 weeks and i haven't heard a single thing from Donald and Goofy, hope they are all right. Plus the kids at school are still picking on me for my accent! Is that normal here?

Rikki: Its because your accent is different to ours! Yours being an American accent and all.

Sora: Huh? An American accent? I thought i had an island acce...OH!

Suddenly Sora remembered in the back of his mind that he was covering as an exchange student from the United States of America. He had no clue where that was until Jiminy (who had been hiding in the hood of his shirt) had shown him a map of planet Earth and Mako Island was off the coast of a state called Queensland, Australia though it wasn't shown on the map.

Emma: Just ignore them!

Cleo: Hopefully your friends will return soon Sora!

Sora: Yeah i hope so! Soooo we meeting up with Lewis after school right?

Rikki: Oh yeah so how is it staying with Lewis?

Lewis had very kindly offered to let Sora stay with him for the duration managing to convince his parents that Sora's host household fell through and had no where else to go during his exchange. Sora liked Lewis and apparently he was being too clingy towards Cleo and that's why they had broken up but they were still talking to each other. He wondered if one of the reasons was because of the experiments the he use to do on them and now on himself which he found extremely weird and annoying.

Sora: Its been fine but he keeps wanting to do experiments on me and taking samples of my hair and skin. Poking and prodding me. He's not being too pushy about it but is that normal?

Rikki: Welcome to our world!

Emma: Just tell him to kindly stop, he'll understand.

Sora: It's like he's never seen a merman before!

Cleo: He had the same reaction when we first become mermaids, mythological creatures like mermaids that don't usually exist only in stories and movies.

This made Sora think, at first he was in the same boat and thought that mermaids only existed in stories and movies too until he met Ariel.

Emma: We better get a move on or we would be late for school!

Rikki: Worry wort! I'll race ya all again back to the main land!

Sora: Hey! Weren't you guys going to tell me more about the full moon that's happening in a few days?

By the time Sora had finished his sentence the mermaids had began to swim off. He smiled as he looked towards his blue tail while being splashed by their tails.

Sora: Guess i'll find out more after school!

It was the end of the school day and Emma, Cleo, Rikki and Sora all met up with Lewis and they are all sitting in Emma's bedroom going through research that Lewis has found.

Emma: So this research was previously done by a guy named Max Hamilton 50 years ago?

Lewis: Yeah that's right, i want to continue his research as to may you guys become mermaids and a merman...all you guys are being connected to Mako somehow and i am determined to know why!

Cleo: These photos must be of him and...

Lewis: Gracie

Suddenly Lewis's phone starts to ring, he notices it's Charlotte, he had forgetten that he was mean't to meet up with her at the JuicyNet Cafe.
