My Hero Academia: Discovery of Q-Energy
Chapter: 6. The Tomb of Secrets.
Walking onto the ruins of the Nomu Factory, the Four heroes venture to the abandoned factory's withered rooms and worn machinery. Ashs and cinders of place meant for villainy have been a distant memory for the heroes. The Heroes knew only the bitter feeling of fear the moment the ultimate evil of the villains revealed himself, the black stain of human society. An ordeal winter that attacked the amygdala of the heroes who ventured into these ruins, chilling their bodies to stand in fear, nighly paralyzed in the presence of the demon lord. The personification of death used to be a curse that Japan feared, now he is but a fading dream. And the new threat has turned things full circle with a new fear. A new plan. A new threat. With afternoon on the horizon, the hero's journey to find the Tomb of Secrets has been put to the full effort, yet little was found, but rubble, and more confusing roads of questions that despirit the heroes.
"Any luck?" Izuku asks.
"Nothing but a sore back!" Uraraka replies while stretching.
"Was that stupid decoy?!" Bakugo replies, with tension in his temper.
"Well, we should consider the last part of the letter: Wait till the middle light arrives," Shoto replies.
"What is even this "Middle Light!?" Bakugo asks.
"Well, let's figure it out." Izuku replies, "I mean we are about to go until the afternoon with this, let's just sit-"
"Wait a minute!" Uraraka replies, "What did you just say!?"
"We are about to go until the afternoon?" Izuku replies.
"Don't you get it?! The middle light is the afternoon light! The afternoon is in the middle of the day and the light comes from the sun!" Uraraka explains.
"Seriously!? That's what the Middle Light means!?" Bakugo replies, "How did we not figure it out back at UA!?"
"Remember what we talked about," Shoto replies.
"Sorry," Bakugo replies as he glances over at Shoto with this reply.
"What time is it?" Uraraka asks.
"11:58 AM," Izuku replies.
"We just need to wait 2 more minutes until we can find this Tomb." Uraraka responds, "So, let's get ready!"
"If you are right about this, You'll get 5000 Yen," Bakugo says, "Cause there is no way in H*ll that this is what that Middle Light means. Because If its something so easy, Principal Nezu would figure it out by now-"
Suddenly the radio on Izuku garbles out Nezu's voice: "Hello, Students! I just figured out that the Middle Light is the Afternoon Sunlight. Wait a few more minutes and the sunlight will reveal the location of the Tomb. Good luck!"
"Are you f*cking serious?" Bakugo replies in disbelief, "Still we can be wrong about this-"
Suddenly sunlight shoots out from a window and shines on a conveyor belt where a hole is.
"Uh, Shoto can you make a key with your ice?" Izuku replies.
"Sure thing," Shoto responds as he does as commanded.
He forges an ice key in the hole and Izuku turns it. Then the conveyor belt begins opening like a door upwards and underneath where the conveyor belt lays a staircase down into the shadows of the room they had discovered. Uraraka holds out her hand to Bakugo and he frustratingly hands over the Yen. The four then proceed down into the shadows and Shoto uses his quirk to spawn a fire in his hand to light the path down. They then reached the bottom and Uraraka found the light switch and switched it on. There is a deep room with a long table on the left full of papers and scientific equipment, such as a microscope, a PCR Machine, and a refrigerator. On the other side, there is a safe door, a television set, and a series of thick binders.
"What the..." Izuku reacts.
Shoto looks into the genetic machinery, Uraraka looks into the binders, Bakugo looks at the TV, and Izuku looks at the Safe.
Shoto looks in the refrigerator and discovers hair, blood, and skin samples with each of their names in the refrigerator.
"Guys, they have been collecting hair, blood, and skin from us!" Shoto exclaims in fear.
"How have they been doing this?!" Izuku exclaims, "They need to be following us for years!"
"They didn't have to!" Bakugo replies in anger and hate as he holds a thick black book in his hands, "They have been spying on us for years! UA's surveillance system has been breached! They have been studying us all this time! This book has detailed all of our activities in school!"
Bakugo throws the book angrily on the floor.
"Remember what we-" Shoto responds.
"I know!" Bakugo replies, "I'm just mad that this villain broke through our security! Even without us realizing it for years!"
"But why collect these samples, to begin with?" Shoto responds.
"This will explain everything." Uraraka replies, "Ahem! "After spending 10 months thoroughly examining the inheritance between Almight and that brattish fanatical oaf with the One for All quirk, I have come to discover an energy hidden in the genetic code of every human being: Q Energy is the primal source of what we call Quirks. And that part of the genetic code can work for all sorts of genetics according to my research on a chameleon who now has the quirk of Fire Breath, thanks to a few genetic tweaks to its code. Several similar tests have been done during this 10-month trial and all results of these experiments show that this hypothesis is positively correct. I just modified each quirk to be limitless in terms of having weaknesses. So, there is more than one way to inherit all power in the world. All for One decided on the classic physical and tedious way. I decided on a more genetic perspective. I shall succeed where All for One failed."
"Q-Energy?" Bakugo responds.
"Are we going to look past the fact that this villain spied on my first encounter with Almight?!" Izuku replies.
"There's more." Uraraka responds, " According to my further research the Hair Follicles hold the most Q-energized Genetic Code than any other part of the body. This would explain how the transference between quirks is possible. However, there is a notable, permanent side effect. Taking on so many quirks will alter the eye color of the recipient. So I decided to hide my eyes with contact lenses from the public."
"Why would we need to know this?" Bakugo asks.
"Everybody that this villain has killed had their hair stolen," Uraraka explains, "So, what if they had been stealing hair for the owner's quirk? They would have gained a large number of Quirks at this point. So, if this villain is using this Q-Energy to become all-powerful, then it explains a lot of inaccuracies, like how Kurogiri is back or how one person can cool down from their Super Strength Quirk so quickly."
"But I don't see any hair follicles from any of the victims in the refrigerator, and some follicles from each of us have been missing." Shoto replies, "So where is this villain keeping the rest?"
"Maybe the answer is in this safe!" Izuku grunts as he tries to pull open the safe, "And I can't use my quirk without blowing this place up."
"Me neither," Bakugo replies.
"I can make it softer with my flame," Shoto replies, "Stand back!"
Shoto then uses his flame to melt the safe door's hinges and locks, before pushing it over to reveal a prison of some sort. An old and worn-down prison where it is more dirtier than the room the heroes were just in. And in each room, there are skeletons with chains on their legs. By the fourth cage, the heroes witnessed a horrifying sight.
"Oh, Kami!" Uraraka gasps, putting her hands over her mouth in horror.
"What the F*ck!?" Bakugo grunts in shock.
Izuku and Shoto's eyes widen in speechless fright.
In front of the heroes is a series of mechanical jars holding organs in build with tubes connecting to each jar so that the organs are still connected and is designed like a serpent, and at the end of the snake is a skeletal head and eyeballs with dilated pupils. Then at the Hear Jar, there are small veins in wires connecting to all the jars.
"Y-you!" The being responds, "You are Almight's protegee! Come to save us! However, there is nothing left to save, not here. We were meant to be the transfer students you were supposed to meet, but that person Grim Mutation, their plan is their life, and this is what they do to obstacles. Currently, there are thousands of her guards here, watching patiently, and hungry for your skin. They will crawl underneath your skin, both figuratively and literally, and eat you from the inside. They were lucky. I wasn't I survived, and to make sure I wouldn't run, the Grim Mutation took away my body and replaced it with this motionless system of jars and tubes, and the pain would never fade."
"The Transfer Students?" Shoto asks, "What do they have anything to do with this?"
"Everything," The being answered, "The Grim Mutation used a Quirk known as Great Army, to create four other versions of themselves, and using Himiko Toga's Quirk, they used our blood to take our form, our bodies, our lives. Listen to me! You need to get out of here! End this madness! The torment! The-"
Suddenly the dilation of the being's eyes shrinks in fear as he spots something.
"No. NO! NO! NO!" The being shouts in panic, as hundreds of robotic spiders crawl out of the walls and begin attacking the being.
"NO!" Izuku shouts as he tries to save the being.
"Leave me! Just go! RUN! NOW!" The being says before screaming in pain as the Spiders crawl into the jars and begin devouring the organs.
"We need to go!" Shoto exclaims, "We can't help him now! This is the best we can do for him!"
"We can still save him with a little bit of explosions!" Bakugo replies.
"And take us all down with them!?" Uraraka responds, "We need to get this information to Nezu, now!"
The Spiders then overflow the room like water flooding the bathroom. The Heroes began fighting off the spiders without using their quirks too much as the spiders jumped and attacked. Some even try to get them at the legs. Soon the heroes run to get out and Bakugo gets impatient.
"Now can I destroy them!?" Bakugo asks.
"Yes!" Shoto replies.
Bakugo then uses his Howitzer to move on the spiders causing the entire Tomb to collapse on the Spiders and crush them.
"That was disturbing." Bakugo replies, "I'm actually scared of this Villain, and they're not even All For One."
"We need to head back to UA, immediately!" Izuku shouts, and his comrades nod in agreement.
Afar, the Grim Mutation watches in the shadows and has disappointed eyes.
"Disappointing. The heroes were faster than I had anticipated to defeat my Spiders. They truly are worthy adversaries after all. All the more reason to proceed with Phase 2." Grim Mutation replies as they turn of their phone and dial their minion's number, "Are you ready my clones? Be prepared for the troubles you are about to face."
"Just say when ma'am. *yawns*" Tanji replies.
The eyes of the clones' master glow once more as they issue their orders, "Attack! Continue to attack and create all sorts of problems for the heroes to sort out. Do not hesitate and show no hesitation."
"Y-yes, ma'am," Tanji says in a guilt-filled tone.
"What is the first rule to survive?" Grim Mutation asks.
"Never feel guilty." The clone says as he suppresses his guilt.
"Exactly, I'll expect to hear you fighting for your lives when I give you the signal to stop." The Grim Mutation replies as they hang up the phone.
The Revelations the Heroes witnessed are unlike any they have seen, yet still so much is left unknown. And by the end, their questions will be answered and horror will cloud their minds like a parasite feeding off of their power to bring all the Heroes to ruin like they did with the Nomu Factory they just left.
