HELLO FOLKS! SURPRISEEEE! I'M NOT DEAD! I'm currently nursing a second degree burn from a metal stick used for s'mores. Word to the wise, DON'T grab the metal that's been in the fire. That stuff HURTS. And the burn is like, super weird and is kinda shaped like the metal stick. My husband made me go to the relative who's an EMT/Firefighter so I'm all bandaged up with burn gel, which feels so much better. :) I'm having a lot of fun here and thought since I have such a surplus of backlog, I might upload another chapter anyways! Thank you all so very much for the likes and follows, I'm so glad y'all are enjoying this. It truly means a lot to me. I didn't expect anyone would enjoy it, and I'm pleasantly surprised. Sending all my love! And as always, I do not own Marvel Cinematic Universe or their characters, I do own my OC's!

Lorelei bid farewell to the latest customer, her smile quickly leaving her face as they left through the door.

"These roses are perfect, don't you think, Lorelei?" Dolly asked, gaze fixed on the roses as she arranged the new arrival.

"Yes, they're beautiful." Lorelei said distractedly.

Lorelei closed her eyes and leaned against the counter. The week had passed quickly with vigorous training, and she had returned to the shop quite reluctantly.

Even though she had felt prepared, she still felt anxious about the silence from Steve.

Lorelei felt the atoms in the air become excited before the explosion.

With little time to react, Lorelei lunged for Dolly, covering her body just in case the building came crashing down around them.

A deafening explosion rocked the street outside, lifting the brick street, the force rattled the windows and sent a haphazardly placed vase falling to the floor.

Dolly was screaming, as were people outside.

"What was that?!" She cried.

Lorelei helped her back up, gaze on the street outside.

The building didn't seem to be damaged, thankfully.

"Dolly, you need to hide! I'll go check what happened." Lorelei's voice held no room for questions.

Without waiting for a reply, Lorelei bolted out of the shop.

As she ran, she muttered a quick incantation, Lorelei's features became unrecognizable to those around her before she conjured her robes.

Emerging onto the streets, she took in the aftermath of the explosion. Smoke billowed from a nearby building as people ran screaming in all directions.

Eyes narrowing, Lorelei spotted a taxi swerving in the distance. She saw Peggy, gun in hand, firing away at the fleeing taxi.

Lorelei's brows raised when she saw Steve, now transformed by the serum, giving chase on foot.

Lorelei had to act quickly.

Lorelei ran. She ran faster than she had ever done since she had arrived. She practically flew past Peggy, earning a startled exclamation from her.

She summoned her Eldritch whips, their glowing orange energy crackled in the air.

She jumped, leaping higher than any normal human could. With a deft flick of her wrists, her whips wrapped around the metal on the buildings. She pulled, sending her flying. The metal screeched at the force in which Lorelei pulled, bending them beyond recognition.

Lorelei became a blur in the sky as she flew, drawing shocked remarks from those observing.

Lorelei did the calculations in her mind, adjusting accordingly as she positioned herself to land on the taxi.

Lorelei slowed, her arc sinking towards the ground and making her lose ground. Another launch of her whips sent her rocketing forward.

Lorelei braced herself for impact, landing impossibly hard on the roof, leaving deep dents where her feet impacted.

Lorelei clung to the roof as the car swerved, focusing on not becoming a person-burger on the side of the road.

Shifting her atoms, she slipped through the cracks, filling the car with a sort of black smoke.

The HYDRA Agent yelled, swerving as the smoke coalesced into a sort of shadow person, emerald eyes sending chills down his spine.

"Hello." Lorelei's voice was distorted, terrifying the man further.

She grinned, fully formed, "you picked the wrong day to fuck with New York. Hand over the serum!"

The agent snarled, sticking the gun in Lorelei's face. They wrestled with the gun, a shot ringing out as it impacted Lorelei's thigh and drew blood.

She ignored the pain and lunged for the agent, trying to find the serum.

The agent lost control, the car impacted another and was sent rolling end over end, the deafening sound of crunching metal echoing through the streets until it rolled to a stop upside down.

Lorelei groaned, stunned from the feeling of being an article of laundry going through a drying cycle thanks to not being buckled in place.

The HYDRA Agent crawled out of the wreckage, serum clutched in his hand as he took off running.

Lorelei looked up at the sound of a ripping door.

"Lorelei!" Steve's frightened face appeared as he stared down at the bleeding woman.

"Forget about me! Go after him! Get him before he escapes!" Lorelei waved him away.

Steve turned, gaze on the fleeing man, before turning back to Lorelei.

"Go!" Lorelei ordered.

Steve, hearing the determination in Lorelei's voice, nodded and took off in pursuit.

Lorelei gritted her teeth against the pain while she pulled herself out of the wrecked car.

Pressing a hand to her thigh in an attempt to stop the bleeding, she watched Steve chase down the agent.

Despite the pain, she couldn't help but grin with swelling pride as she watched Steve close in on the enemy.

The bystanders gasped, watching Lorelei disappear into a puff of smoke.

Lorelei re-formed in her apartment, leaning against the front door as she felt the pain return.

It was different from the pain of her atoms shifting into the shadows, but being shot was still quite painful.

She unlocked the door, leaving bloody handprints as she did.

She tried to staunch the blood as it seeped between her fingers and landed on the carpet.

Each step left a bloody footprint behind all the way to the kitchen.

Lorelei reached for the alcohol cabinet, aiming for the Vodka that sat on the bottom shelf. Grateful she had been able to trade it off of a member of the Mystic Arts, she gathered her first aid kit, leaving blood everywhere.

Lorelei cut through the side of the pants, revealing the oozing gunshot wound.

There was no exit wound, meaning Lorelei would had to dig around in her leg.

Lorelei plopped a mirror into a drawer, giving her a vague perspective of the wound.

Vigorously washing the blood and bacteria off her hands with soap and water, Lorelei poured the Vodka into a bowl and placed the instruments in it.

Pouring the alcohol into the wound, Lorelei hissed at the new sensation of pain. What blood had been washed away was quickly replaced by more.

Lorelei froze, intimidated by the task.

Knowing she didn't have a lot of time or blood for that matter, Lorelei pried the flesh open.

Her face contorted in pain.

Using metal tongs to hold open the wound while she used , she rinsed the blood away from the site.

Gaze on the mirror, Lorelei realized that it was pointless without an extra hand to hold a flashlight or an adjustable mirror.

Lorelei gritted her teeth and dug around in the wound, tears leaking out of the corners of her eyes as she tried to get a hold of the bullet.

Curses filled the apartment.

Lorelei looked up at the hard, rapid knocking.

"Come in," Lorelei called.

The door creaked open, the visitor quiet as they took in the shocking amount of blood leading away from the door.
