A/N: Working on writing the next chapter of 'Unforeseen' so that will hopefully be the next one typed and posted after this. I have not forgotten just had to move last week so that's why things are behind. Thank you, loyal readers, for sticking with me.

Joey felt her heart soar seeing Pacey and Will readying themselves and the True Love for the race but before she could try and speak to him Bessie pulled her to their table and placed a spatula in her hand.

"Are you actually gonna tell me why you need me to run this race for you?" Jack grumbled pulling on the life jacket that Pacey had just pulled off.

"Some day Jack, some day." Pacey rubbed at his tired eyes, giving his friend a soft smile. "Will's got your back. Just do your best."

"Thanks man. I hope you feel better."

Pacey gave him a tight smile before turning on his heel and walking away. "Not likely." He eyed the B and B booth, ensuring that Joey still flipped pancakes before he darted around the booth, leaving his boat and the race behind him.

Flipping her last pancake Joey growled as the call to start the race came from the loudspeaker. Finding a spot on the lookout next to the water she prepared to cheer Pacey on, hoping maybe that could be an olive branch for them to speak again.

Bessie stepped up next to her as the horn rang out announcing the start of the race. "Yeah! Pacey!" Joey yelled out but stopped as she got a closer look of who was on the boat, her heart breaking at the sight, Jack was in Pacey's place, doing his best to work the winches while Will did the rest.

In the end the True Love came in third.

Joey didn't wait around, instead heading directly to Grams, her head hitting Jen's bed as soon as she got to her room.

"Something happen? Did you talk to him?" Jen asked upon finding the brunette flopped on her bed.

"No…when I got there Pacey was getting the boat ready with Will but before I could talk to him Bessie pulled me in for pancake duty. By the time the race started I could only watch…but Pacey wasn't on the boat during the race, Jack took his place."

"Jack?" Jen asked in shock as Joey nodded. "Does he know what happened with you and Pacey?"

Joey had to think of any and all responses she had had with Jack since their return from Gwen's. "I don't think so. If anyone does it'd be Will, him and Pacey have always been closer, and I haven't really seen him either since Gwen's."

"He's been spending a lot of time with Andie." Jen pointed out remembering the two blondes walking hand in hand after the christening.

"Yeah…I saw that too." The sigh that passed her lips didn't go unnoticed by the blonde but what was she to do? Lock her and Pacey in a closet together? That would work if anyone could get a hold of Pacey to keep him in one spot.
