A different kind of stomach bug.

It took Harvey a moment to register what she was telling him, as she held his palm against her stomach. When it clicked, the rush of emotion that hit him was unlike any feeling he had ever experienced. When he found he was a father that first night meeting Rosie, he was faced with the fact that he had missed out on so much, the guilt of his absence something he still struggled with months later. He missed the doctor's appointments, her arrival, her first months of life.

But this – he would be there for all of it. From this moment on, he wasn't going to miss out on any part of this child's life.

They were going to have a baby. Together.

Donna didn't know how long they sat in silence, her own mind still racing while she watched Harvey put the pieces together.

"Can we take a test?" Harvey asked cautiously.

Donna's heart sank. Did he not want –

Seeing the confusion flash across her face, Harvey quickly shook his head, "Not because I don't believe you – because…" he trailed off, "because I didn't get to have any of this with Rosie."

Donna watched him intently as he went on, "I didn't know she existed until she was already here, Donna; I know a test will just confirm what we already know, but I want to do this with you – every single part of it. Starting from the beginning. I missed out on too much the first time."

Donna's heart exploded as tears fell down her cheeks, her hormones no match for the sincerity and love in Harvey's simple request.

She leaned in and placed a long, heavy kiss on his lips, "I'll be right back."

10 minutes later Donna returned from the pharmacy around the corner, test in hand.

She emerged from the bathroom to find a very impatient Harvey waiting just outside the door.

"How long do we have to wait?"

Donna smiled as she was faced with yet another side of Harvey she never thought she'd see.

She slipped her arms around him and leaned up for a quick kiss. "2 minutes."

Harvey sighed, "What do people do while they wait?"

Donna laughed, "I think it depends on the situation. I can only speak from personal experience but I think it's a lot of 'what ifs,' a little bit of panic, some pacing around."

Harvey raised an eyebrow, "You've done this before?"

Donna cocked her head to the side and gave him a smirk, "just once."

Harvey sighed when he realized what she was suggesting. "Why didn't you tell me?"

"Harvey," Donna laughed, "how do you think that would have gone?"

"I would have been there for you," he insisted, his brows furrowed.

Donna smiled. She knew if she had told him she was worried after the other time he would have gone running for the hills, but the softness on his face was too sweet for her to handle.

Standing on her tip toes she leaned in for a kiss, "It's okay, Harvey, you're here now."

90 seconds later, Donna stood over the bathroom sink looking at the upside down test on the counter. Standing over her shoulder, Harvey slipped his arms around her from behind, both hands resting gently on her stomach.

"Ready?" her eyes met his in the reflection of the mirror.

He placed a kiss on her temple and pulled her tight against him, "Ready."

The confirmation that Donna needed to spin around and give Harvey one of her classic I told you so looks.

But when she turned to face him, she froze.

Harvey couldn't hold back the tears that had been pooling in his eyes since they walked into the bathroom. As they streamed down his face, his lips quivering slightly as he tried to choke back the sob that escaped him as he pulled Donna in, his hand running up through her hair, his other arm wrapped tightly around her.

"We're having a baby," he whispered, his voice cracking as his emotions overtook him.

Melting into him at the sound of his watery declaration, Donna's unshed tears broke loose.

"We're having a baby," she repeated.
