Miss Fortunes Strike
As the Loud siblings slept, Lincoln was dreaming he was in the middle of a field that was covered in a layer of fog.
"Where am I?" asked Dream Lincoln.
"Hello?" a female voice that Lincoln recognized said; he looks to see Clover standing nearby looking around; she was wearing a blue kimono with white snowflake designs on it with a white sash, plus she wasn't wearing her face paint; Lincoln, for reasons he couldn't explain, couldn't help but gawk at her.
"It's you." said Dream Lincoln, getting Dream Clover's attention.
"Hello, Lincoln." said Dream Clover as she looks lovingly at Dream Lincoln.
"What are you doing here? And speaking of here; where are we?" asked Dream Lincoln.
"I don't know." said Dream Clover. She walks over to Dream Lincoln and circles him as she glides her hand around his neck, making him blush.
"W-What are you doing?" asked Dream Lincoln.
"What is wrong?" asked Dream Clover. "Don't you like that?"
"You attacked my sisters!" said Dream Lincoln. But even with that fact, Dream Lincoln didn't really mind Dream Clover touching him.
"It's not like I hurt them." Dream Clover whispers into Dream Lincoln's ear as she drapes her arms over his shoulders and rests her head on one of them, making him blush some more. "I only pinned their feet to the ground to stop them from moving."
"I guess that's true." said Dream Lincoln.
"You see?" said Dream Clover. "There's no reason we can't get along." Dream Clover then walks in front of Dream Lincoln and puts her hands on his cheeks and brings her lips closer and closer to his.
'How come I'm not fighting this?' Dream Lincoln asked himself. Just when their lips were about to touch, he felt himself starting to shake,
"Hey, Lincoln!" said Luan as she shakes his only brother to wake him up; he sits up quickly and looks around.
"What the... What's going on?!" asked Lincoln.
"It's time to meet up with everyone at the Wallflower for breakfast." said Luan. Lincoln rubs his eyes to try and get the last remnants of sleep out of them.
"Aww, man." Lincoln sleepily said.
"What's wrong, Linky?" asked Leni.
"I was just dreaming about Clover and..." Lincoln said while still half asleep; his eyes shot open when he realized what he just told two of his sisters; he looks over at Leni and Luan who were looking at him with big smiles and trembling with excitement.
"YOU WERE DREAMING ABOUT CLOVER?!" Leni and Luan loudly asked.
"Keep it down." Lincoln said quietly. "You don't want to wake up the entire village; do you?"
"Sorry." said Leni and Luan who were trying to keep their excitement contained.
"Let's just hurry and get dressed." said Lincoln. After Leni and Luan get dressed while Lincoln waits outside before getting changed after his sisters were done, they all head over to the Wallflower where the rest of their sisters, along with Akari and Rei, were waiting at a few tables.
"Morning, everybody." said Leni.
"Morning." everyone at the tables replied.
"Did you sleep well?" asked Rei.
"Yeah." said Lincoln. He, Leni, and Luan sat at the tables with everyone else and order something to eat. As they all wait for their food, Lori notices Leni and Luan were grinning at Lincoln who looked irritated as they did.
"What's with you two?" asked Lori.
"Lincoln dreamed about Clover last night." said Luan in a teasing manner, making the sisters who didn't know about that fact squeal with delight, while Akari frowned.
"Tell us everything that happened!" said Lori.
"You're not going to drop it until I do, right?" assumed Lincoln.
"Correct!" said Lisa. Seeing that his sisters weren't going to let up, Lincoln begins telling them about his dream.
"...and she brings her lips towards mine." Lincoln says as he continues his story.
"Then you two kissed?!" asked Lola with anticipation.
"No; Luan woke me up before that happened." said Lincoln, making most of the Loud sisters glare at Luan.
"Hey, it's not like I knew about it." said Luan as she held up her hands in a defensive manner.
"I guess." said Luna.
"So, after breakfast we head for the Heights Camp?" asked Lana.
"Yeah." said Lori.
Once their food arrived and everyone ate, they went back to their houses to gather supplies for their trip to the Grandtree Arena.
As Lincoln packed some Potions and a few extra pokeballs, he also grabs a couple of blank art canvases and some paints he got himself recently; some time ago, he was just hanging around the village while taking a break from Survey Corps work when he sees an elderly woman doing some painting who invited him over to try.
He didn't know why, but he was talented with art, impressing the woman who then gave him a few pointers; when he has time, he would paint portraits of Pokemon he's encountered before that impressed some of the villagers.
After Lincoln gets packed up, he and Pokemon meet his sisters, Akari, Rei, and Professor Lavneton at the village gate.
"Is everyone ready?" asked Lori. Once everyone confirms that they were, they all head out towards their destination. While travelling towards the Heights Camp, they help Lola train up her Pokemon since she's been busy working her and Lana's shop to do so herself.
During the training, Lola's Ponyta learned Flame Wheel and her Eevee simply got stronger.
They soon reached the Heights Camp where they stop to take a break before continuing on; as they all sat and relaxed. As they did, Lincoln was doing some painting while deep in thought about a certain Miss Fortune Bandit.
'Why am I still thinking about that dream I had last night?' Lincoln asked himself as he painted without paying attention to what he was doing. 'Clover and I are supposed to be enemies, so why didn't I try to fight her when she tried to kiss me in my dream? How do I really feel about her? She attacked my sisters before to steal their Pokemon and the pokedex, but like she said in the dream, she didn't actually hurt them. So many questions. What should I do?'
"Lincoln!" Lori shouts, snapping Lincoln out of his thoughts.
"Wh-What happened?" asked Lincoln as he looks around.
"We're just about to head out." said Lori.
"Sorry; I wasn't really paying attention." said Lincoln. Lori looks at Lincoln's painting and giggles with delight. Their other sisters came over and see what their eldest sister was looking at, making them giggle as well. Out of confusion, he looks at his painting and to his shock; he sees that while he was lost in thought, he had painted Clover and what she looked like in his dream.
"That's pretty good, Lincoln." said Luna as she smirks at Lincoln.
"Was that how she looked in her dream?" asked Leni with excitement. Lincoln looks away with a blush which makes his sisters squeal with delight.
"Are you going to do one of Irida next?" asked Lola with a big smile, making Lincoln blush some more. Lincoln doesn't answer as he quickly puts his painting supplies away.
"Can we just go?" asked Lincoln.
"Okaaaaaaaaaaaay." said his sisters in a teasing manner. As everyone starts getting their stuff together, they hear the sound of munching from nearby.
"What's that?" asked Lynn. They all look around and see a Munchlax eating some of the food they brought.
"Hey! That's ours!" shouts Lola. The Munchlax just looks at them and shrugs before it continues eating.
"We should do something!" said Lori.
"I got this!" said Lana as she tosses a pokeball, releasing her Monferno. The Munchlax finishes the food it was eating and gets ready for a battle.
"Get it, Lana!" shouts Lola.
"Monferno, use Ember!" said Lana. But instead of using the move he was told to; he moves at great speed towards Munchlax and punches it hard, sending it flying.
"That was Mach Punch!" said Professor Laventon. "Fighting type moves like those are very effective against normal types like Munchlax."
"Yeah!" said Lana. Munchlax gets up and rolls at Monferno, slamming into him. "Monferno, use that Mach Punch move again!" Monferno does so and punches Munchlax hard, sending it flying into a cliff wall, stunning it.
"Catch it, Lana!" said Rei. Lana nods as she takes an empty pokeball out of satchel and throws it at Munchlax, hitting it, and sucking it in; seconds later, a firework shoots up from the pokeball.
"Yeah! Munchlax is mine!" cheered Lana.
"Good work, Lana." said Lincoln. Lana picks up Munchlax's pokeball and walks to Professor Laventon.
"So, is my Munchlax a boy or a girl?" asked Lana.
"I believe it is a boy." replied Professor Laventon. "At his current level, he should know Rollout, Tackle, and Rest."
"Got it." replied Lana. She puts Munchlax's pokeball in her satchel and everyone then gets their stuff together and continue on their way. As they reach the bottom of the hill the camp was located on, they look up at a nearby ledge and sees a brown deerlike Pokemon with antlers that kind of looked like eyes.
"What's that?" asked Lola.
"That is a Stantler." said Professor Laventon.
"It kind of reminds me of Wyrdeer." said Lincoln.
"Well, Stantlers are the pre-evolved form of Wyrdeers." explained Professor Laventon.
"Perhaps I should obtain this Pokemon." said Lisa. "Not only for research, but I wouldn't mind having a Pokemon to ride on like Lola's Ponyta."
"Go for it, sis." said Luna. Lisa tosses her pokeball, releasing her Pikachu.
"Pikachu, please use Thunder Shock!" said Lisa. Pikachu releases a jolt of electricity that hits the Stantler, doing damage to it; the Pokemon starts to twitch while covered in static electricity.
"I believe that Stantler's paralyzed." said Professor Laventon. The Stantler tries to move, but paralysis stops it.
"Pikachu, please use Quick Attack!" said Lisa. Pikachu moves quickly at the Stantler and rams it, knocking it over. Lisa sees an opportunity and quickly takes an empty pokeball out of her satchel; she throws it at the Stantler, hitting it, and sucking it in; the pokeball wiggles before a firework shoots out of it.
"A fine capture." said Professor Laventon.
"Thank you, Professor." said Lisa.
"Your Stantler appears to be a male, and the ones in this area should know Tackle, Confusion, and Hypnosis." said Professor Laventon.
"Another page for our pokedex." said Lisa as she writes information on her new Pokemon into the tome.
"That's good for us as well!" said a familiar voice from above them.
"I know that voice." said Lynn as she and everyone else look up at a high ledge to see the Miss Fortune Bandits looking down at them.
"Who are they?" asked Lori.
"They're the Miss Fortune Bandits we told you about a few days ago." said Lisa. As the two groups look at each other, Clover sees Lincoln who was looking up at her.
"Hello, my darling!" said Clover as she moves closer to the cliff edge while waving her arms, making Lincoln's sisters giggle, and Akari clench her fists. Suddenly, the part of the cliff that Clover was standing on crumbles, making her fall before Charm or Coin can grab her.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" shouts Clover as she plummets towards the ground. As if his body acted on its own; Lincoln quickly runs to where Clover was going to land and catches her in his arms.
"Nice catch, Lincoln!" said Lori. Clover opens her eyes and sees she was in Lincoln's arms.
"You saved me!" said Clover as she wraps her arms around Lincoln's shoulders and nuzzles his cheek, making him blush.
"C-Could you let go of me now?" asked Lincoln.
"Why the hurry, Lincoln?" asked Luan with a smirk.
"Clover! We're here to steal the pokedex!" said Charm as she and Coin come down from the cliff and walk towards the Survey Corps group.
"Don't ruin this moment!" said Lori.
"Lincoln really doesn't mind this." said Leni.
"Why?" asked Coin.
"Well, we're pretty certain he kind of likes her." said Leni.
"Really?!" asked Clover with joy.
"He must since he said he dreamed about you last night." said Lola with a grin, surprising Clover and the rest of the Miss Fortune Bandits.
"You did?!" asked Clover, making Lincoln look away with a blush.
"And he also painted this!" said Lori as she holds out the Clover painting that Lincoln made earlier so the Miss Fortune Bandits could see it.
"He made that?" asked Charm with a surprised tone of voice.
"I must admit it is quality work." said Coin in an impressed tone. Clover looks at awe at the painting.
"I like the kimono you put me in." said Clover with a blush on her face.
"I-It's what you were wearing in my dream." said Lincoln.
"What else happened in the dream?" asked Clover as he strokes Lincoln's cheek, making his face turn red.
"You two were going to kiss." said Lola, making Clover's eyes widen.
"We were?" asked Clover with a big grin.
"You were about to, but Luan woke him up before it happened." said Lynn, pointing at Luan, making Clover growl.
"How dare you ruin that moment for my future husband!" said Clover as she climbs down from Lincoln's arms.
"Hey, it's not like I knew about that!" said Luan.
"I am so mad at you right now!" said Clover.
"How would you feel if we told you that another girl might have feelings for him?" asked Lori with a smirk on her face.
"WHAT?!" replied Clover.
"Yeah, her name is Irida and she's the leader of the Pearl Clan." said Lola.
"I don't care who she is; Lincoln is mine!" shouts Clover.
"You should also know that yesterday she kissed him on the cheek." said Lynn with a grin. Clover snarls as her face turns red with fury.
"When I get my hands on this girl, I'm gonna..." Clover started to say before Charm interrupted.
"Excuse me! We're here to steal the pokedex, not deal with your love life!" said Charm.
"Fine!" said Clover as she heads back to her fellow bandits while winking at Lincoln as she does. Coin then steps forward.
"Which of you wants to battle me?" asked Coin, pulling out a pokeball.
"I will." replied Lynn, stepping forward while pulling out a pokeball. Coin throws her pokeball, releasing her Croagunk while Lynn throws hers, releasing her Dartrix. "Okay, Dartrix, use Gust!" Dartrix flaps his wings, releasing a gust of wind from them and it hits Croagunk, dealing super effective damage to him.
"Croagunk, use Poison Sting!" said Coin. Croagunk fires multiple purple darts from its mouth and they hit Dartrix, dealing super effective damage to him; it turned purple under Dartrix's eyes.
"Oh dear; Dartrix is poisoned." said Professor Laventon. Dartrix coughs from his poisoning and loses some stamina.
"Dartrix, use Aerial Ace!" said Lynn. Dartix flies towards Croagunk while white streaks of light surrounds him and he rams Croagunk, dealing super effective damage, and knocking it out.
"No!" exclaimed Coin.
"Looks like Dartrix defeated your Croagunk." said Lynn with a smirk. Coin growls while returning Croagunk to its pokeball.
"Well done, Lynn." said Professor Laventon. "I will get a remedy for Dartrix's poisoning."
"Thanks, Professor." replied Lynn.
"And I will add the data of this battle to our pokedex." said Lisa as she writes more information.
"That'll make it more valuable to us!" said Charm. Clover storms towards Luan.
"I want to battle you!" exclaimed Clover.
"Why?" asked Luan.
"For waking my future husband up before we kissed in his dream, you fool!" replied Clover.
"Okay, I'll battle you then." said Luan. She and Clover each pull out a pokeball.
"Snover, go!" said Clover, throwing her pokeball and releasing her Snover.
"Go, Staravia!" said Luan, throwing Staravia's pokeball and releasing her. "Okay, Staravia, use Quick Attack!" Staravia flies at Snover with incredible speed and rams it, knocking it back.
"Snover, use Ice Shard!" said Clover. Snover launches shards of ice at Staravia, hitting her, and dealing super effective damage to her.
"All right, Staravia, use Aerial Ace!" said Luan. Staravia flies towards Snover while surrounded by white streaks of light and rams Snover, dealing super effective damage to it; it falls to the ground, unconscious.
"Curses!" exclaimed Clover.
"You did it, Staravia." said Luan. Clover returns her Snover to its pokeball, takes a long look at Lincoln, then returns to the other two.
"Looks like I'll have to do this myself!" said Charm. She takes out a pokeball and tosses it, releasing a gray, quadrupedal Pokemon with stone skin, and a horn at the end of its snout.
"That's a Rhyhorn." said Professor Laventon.
"Interesting." said Lisa as she starts writing down a new section in the pokedex.
"Keep writing in that, little girl." said Charm. "It'll make it more valuable when we steal it!"
"In your dreams!" said Lori.
"Yeah, like how Clover was in Lincoln's dreams." said Luan with a grin.
"This is not the time, Luan!" said Lincoln with a blush on his face. Lori steps forward and tosses a pokeball, releasing her Beautifly.
"Beautifly, use Stun Spore!" said Lori. Her Beautifly sprinkles yellow pollen onto Charm's Rhyhorn, causing it to be afflicted with paralysis.
"Rhyhorn, use Stealth Rock!" said Charm. Rhyhorn fights through its paralysis and summons a bunch of sharp rocks that surround Beautifly and pelt her, doing super effective damage, and knocking her to the ground.
"Beautifly!" shouts Lori.
"You're all gonna have to do better than that if you want to beat me." said Charm with a grin.
"Lori, let me handle this!" said Lincoln.
"Are you sure?" asked Lori as she checks on her Beautifly.
"Yes." said Lincoln. He turned towards Buizel. "You ready for a battle, Buizel?" Buizel nods with a look of determination on his face; he runs to the front of Lincoln and faces Rhyhorn. "Okay, Buizel, use Aqua Jet!" Buizel becomes surrounded by water and he flies at Rhyhorn; he rams into it and deals super effective damage to it.
"Rhyhorn, Bulldoze!" said Charm. Rhyhorn fights through its paralysis and his front feet glowed orange; it stomps on the ground with them, sending a shockwave at Buizel, knocking him to the ground, and dealing damage.
"Don't give up, Buizel!" said Lincoln. Buizel gets back on his feet and puts his hands close to each other; a ball of blue water forms between them.
"That looks like Water Pulse." said Professor Laventon. Buizel launches the ball at Rhyhorn and hits it, dealing super effective damage to it, and knocking it out.
"I don't believe it!" exclaimed Charm.
"That was amazing, Buizel." said Lincoln. Buizel does a double fist pump in response. Charm growls and returns Rhyhorn to its pokeball.
"Sisters; let's get out of here." said Charm.
"We're retreating?!" exclaimed Coin.
"We have no Pokemon that are able to battle." replied Charm. She turned towards Lincoln and the rest of the group. "Enjoy this victory while you can; sooner or later, we will have that pokedex."
"You can try to take it, but in the end, you'll run away again." said Lynn.
"We shall see!" said Charm as she throws a black ball to the ground, which bursts open and releases a thick cloud of smoke that covers the entire area.
"Not this again!" said Lynn. As Lincoln looks around, he feels hands on his cheeks; the smoke clears a little, allowing him to see they were Clover's.
"Allow me to finish what we started in your dream, my love." Clover whispers as she looks into Lincoln's eyes.
"What do you..." Lincoln started to say before Clover kisses him on the lips, making his face turn red.
Meanwhile on a road leading into a thick forest, Irida and a couple of Security Corps memebers were walking down it; Irida suddenly growls.
"What is wrong, Lady Irida?" asked a Security Corps member.
"I don't know why, but I feel angry all of a sudden." said Irida.
"Why?" asked the other Security Corps member.
"I don't know." said Irida. "Forget it; let's just continue." The Security Corps members shrug, then the three continue on their way.
Back at Deertrack Heights, the smoke cleared, allowing everyone to see; Lincoln sees that Clover wasn't there anymore.
"Is everyone okay?" asked Professor Laventon.
"I think so." said Luna.
"Is the pokedex safe?" asked Akari. Lisa shows her that the pokedex was in her arms.
"Good." said Professor Laventon.
"Those Miss Fortune Bandits are quite troublesome." said Lisa.
"What do we do now?" asked Lana.
"We'll keep an eye out for them." said Luna.
"And we'll train our Pokemon some more for when they come back." said Lynn.
"For now, we continue on to the Grandtree Arena." said Professor Laventon.
"Okay." said Lori. After treating the Pokemon that just battled, the group continues on their way; as they do, Luan sees that Lincoln had a big blush on his face.
"What's with you, Lincoln?" asked Luan.
"N-N-Nothing!" Lincoln stutters, getting his sisters' attention.
"Did Clover kiss you again?" asked Lola with a big smile. Lincoln looks away with a bigger blush, making his sisters squeal, and Akari growl which gets Rei's attention.
"Which cheek was it?!" asked Leni as she looks at Lincoln's face.
"It wasn't on the cheek." said Lincoln.
"Forehead?" asked Lana.
"No." said Lincoln.
"Nose?" asked Lucy with an actual smile on her face.
"Getting warmer." Lincoln nervously said as his blush intensifies. His sisters gasped as they figured out where their only brother was kissed.
"EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" the Loud sisters squealed before giving Lincoln a big group hug.
"Can't... breathe." said Lincoln as he struggles for air, making his sisters let go.
"Clover definitely likes you!" said Leni.
"What will Irida be like if she finds out?" asked Luan with a grin.
"Can we just go?" asked Lincoln.
"Fine." said Lori with a grin as the group continues on their way.
The Loud siblings have, once again, drove off the Miss Fortune Bandits. Will they encounter them again? Will they be able to calm the frenzied Kleavor? Wait and find out.
