A/N: Hey Everybody!
Ancient Egypt
Before Horus did the deeds that would give him the praises that he was known for, what the world did not realize was that his fate had been bounded, well before he even made it into the world, as tragedy struck his family thanks to the deeds of someone closer to him than anyone would realize.
It was a dark day in the Egyptian Palace, as the death of a beloved king had taken place, though by the hands of someone he had least suspected of.
"Set," Isis began in horror "Why. Why did you do this?". In front of her was the mangled corpse of her husband, Osiris, golden ichor pooling his body. Before her, stood a god in regal, Egyptian robe, torn to reveal his animalistic legs, and an ornate headdress, depicting an animal of indeterminate species.
Egyptian God of Disorder
Set (Ancient Egypt)
"I grow tired of waiting." Set began. "It should have been me who should've become the king of Egypt. I deserved the power, all of it! And now, with the great king Osiris now gone, it is finally time for the rule of Set to begin. Now, Egypt shall be reformed into how I see please."
He briefly pauses.
"And now, to dispose of any unnecessary resources." Set then forms a sigil, and Osiris corpse lifts up from the ground, before it is flung over, landing in the river Nile, where the Crocodiles soon feast upon the remains.
Set then turns to Isis. "Now then either you become mine, or be cast out of Egypt for the rest of your life."
"I'd sooner be dead, than be your whore." Isis firmly says.
"Very well," Set nods, before he conjures another sigil, this time lifting Isis from the ground, before casting her out. "Enjoy the same fate as your husband!"
As Isis lands in the river Nile, a being with, golden blonde-hair, regal green gown, and golden wings swoops down, rescuing Isis from the waters, and carries her into the safety of a hidden grotto.
Egyptian Goddess of the Sky
Nephthys (Ancient Egypt)
"Sister Nephthys," Isis weakly begins.
"Preserve your strength my dear sister." Nephthys calmly says, as she nurses her sister's wounds. "You will need all the strength you need for later."
"What are you talking about?"
"You bear a child within you, correct?" Nephthys begins, before she gentle placed her hand on Isis' womb. "As expected, your child has the essence of Osiris. It has clung unto you even more while you were in the water. It shall aid us against Set."
As Nephthys finishes, Isis starts feeling a sharp pain in her womb, as she feels something forming inside of her.
"What have you done?"
"It is not I," Nephthys begins, before shining a torch unto ancient texts etched unto the walls. "It is said that when Osiris falls, his essence will produce an offspring to overthrow Set."
A brief pause.
"You must remain here until the time is right. Everything you need is here." Nephthys begins as she spreads her wings, before a pair of handmaidens emerge from the pathways. "These two shall aid you for the time being. Now, I must go. Set will become suspicious if I am gone for long periods of time"
Several months later, Isis bears a son as foretold in the texts. The son is named Horus, who learns of the death of his father, and here, begins his training, under the watchful eyes of both Isis and Nephthys, who returns periodically to aid the hero-in-training.
All the while, Set's rule on Egypt is a cruel one, as disasters occur, leaving Egypt's people to flee or die, all as Set enjoys his new life of luxury.
Soon After
As Set enjoys his life as pharaoh, fed an abundance of fruit by the palace slaves, he hears chaos, as people scream, and items get thrown around, before the doors slam, revealing the now adult Horus.
"Set," Horus begins. "I was told that you had killed my father, and have taken the throne. Now, I am here to reclaim it under the name of Osiris."
"So, you wish to reclaim the throne, do you?" Set begins, as he stands up, and grabs a spear. "Well then, try all you can."
The two charge, with Set transforming into a gorilla, and locking arms with Horus. Though Set tries to stab Horus with the spear, Horus is able to deflect the blow, keeping him at bay, but he is able to land a punch, sending Horus back.
"Do you really think that you can take the throne from me that easily?" Set sneers. "I shall rule all of Egypt in the way that I see fit."
"You may be a god, but you are no pharaoh!" Horus shouts back, as he is able to push him back.
"Then you are a foolish one, who will soon fall like your father did all those years ago!" Set then transforms into a Spinosaurus, the spear growing in appropriate size.
Horus in unfazed, as he unsheathes golden, serrated disks, before rushing on, as Set snaps, and slashes around. However, Horus is able to slash Set's head, and golden ichor begins draining.
"You are not the god that I expected." Horus starts. "Even when you take on a more monstrous form, you are just as easy of a target."
"Is that so," Set begins, before transforming back. "If you though the last form was monstrous, then you will enjoy this."
Set then transforms again, this time into a red, hybrid creature that resembled a jackal of sort, but had a face slim like an aardvark, along with slim, forked-tail and floppy, square-ended ears.
"Behold, a creature so otherworldly and dangerous, the mere thought of it has killed many." Set begins.
"And this will be the last form that you will ever take."
The fight continues, neither one getting the advantage over the other. Despite the strength Set had in his new form, Horus is able to hold back his own, with only bruises and wounds from each other's grip being the only thing to be produced.
Finally, Set gets the upper hand, as sharp claws withdraw, and scar Horus' left eye, leaving it bleeding profusely. As Horus is momentarily stunned, Set manages to knock Horus into a pillar, knocking it down, as a cloud of dust builds up.
Set finally charges, and leaps up, with the intention to crush Horus' throat under his jaws, Horus was able to react, despite the damage, and using his wings to shoot metallic feathers, cutting Set in various places, before one finally slashes his throat.
As Set lays on the ground, Horus finally gets up, before making his way to Set.
"I must apologize." Horus begins. "Though it was foretold that I would be the one to finish your reign, I had hoped that it would have been done without bloodshed."
Then, Nephthys and Isis arrive, to see that everything had ended.
"Set, my love." Nephthys begins, kneeling beside the fallen god. "I wish you would've listened…"
Isis then notices the spear, picks it up, before caressing it slightly. 'This is all that remains of you, my love. It is time that it returns to its rightful heir.' Isis then walks to her son.
"Mother, it is done. I hope that father is able to rest easy now."
"Only time will tell my son." Isis responds. "Now, take your father's spear, and reclaim your throne as the pharaoh of Egypt."
Horus hesitates for a while, before finally grabbing the spear, which glows in his grasp, before he finally takes it, and take his place on the throne. A new age has begun.
From that day onwards, Horus took his place as Egypt's pharaoh, ruling for many years. When the time came for Horus to finally abdicate, his rule was still spoken fondly of as one of Egypt's greatest.
Modern Day
'Father,' Horus began. 'Through your spear, I carry your legacy. Now, share with me your power so that I may bring victory.' Horus' spear began glowing yellow, and soon he charged towards William.
The legacy of a father, through which is passed down to his own blood… Osiris' Divine Rule!
As the move connected, a ray of light shot out, enveloping the arena in a near-blinding light. Everyone present save for the major gods shield their eyes. As it plays, Zeus laughs in an excitable manner, while Bathala still views the battle, and The Dagda smiles, thinking that the sheer power of Horus' spear was enough to obliterate the human.
"Well, can't say I'm surprised." The Dagda says, standing on.
"Wooo yeah!" Anubis cheers. "That's what I'm talking about! Go Horus!"
"He has grown into such a formidable, don't you agree?" Nephthys asks Isis.
"Indeed, he has," Isis nods. "He has surpassed his father, and I'm sure that he is proud of him."
Meanwhile, in the humans' side, Goll collapses to her knees in defeat, as humanity weeps. "I knew it. The powers of the gods are unmatched. We were fools to think we could even challenge them."
"Don't look back yet Goll. Stand up." Brunhilde says.
"But I can't!" Goll moans in defeat. "How can I watch any longer?"
"Don't avert your eyes just yet."
"But!"
"Watch closely."
"Huh?"
As the blinding light recedes, all in the arena present could not believe their eyes as to what they had witnessed.
"I must admit," William admitted. "That was impressive, and you're pretty damn good."
William Wallace was able to block the spear with his sword, before swinging again, and swiping up Horus' right upper body, spraying golden ichor from the newly made wound.
"What?!" Anubis shrieks.
"And there it is!" Andrew smirks in satisfaction.
"What on earth?" Bathala's arms drop.
"I-I I don't believe this!" Heimdall comments in shock. "Golden ichor is spouting from Horus' chest. William's first strike has managed to injure a god!"
"B-but how?" Nephthys eyes widen. "There has to be something else at play. Everyone knows that no human weapon can hurt a god."
As this revelation, William Wallace raises his sword, and initiates a war cry, and humanity cheers in response with excitement and glee.
Horus struggles as he wipes the ichor from his chest. As he does so, William emerges more as the light fades. In his hand, the sword that he used to strike Horus started glowing, before changing shape into a much shorter sword.
In the stands, Andrew closes his eyes, a smile forming. "I expected nothing less from you, my friend. You truly are one of a kind, and Scotland is honored to have you as a commander."
A/N: And we're clear!
Doesn't matter how much time has passed, I still cannot write fight scenes, so this went through a lot of drafts.
Also yeah, I know, Horus story isn't exactly mythically accurate, but then again, barely anything in the original manga is, and I tried my best.
