At the owl house
Everyone was getting ready to go the powerball tournament so they can see Maria win a powerball tournament.
A portal appears and ryou comes out for the tournament
In another part of the Isles at the Powerball Arena, the stands were filled with fans.
"This is it folks! The Powerball Open Qualifiers!" The announcer said as the crowd went nuts. "100 teams have signed up for this but only 10 of them will win the huge cash prize and the opportunity to enter the pro circuit!"
In the back area, we see ryou and Maria in dressing rooms.
Putting on padded armor, maria tucks her hair back while ryou put on his armor,

Sitting down maria put on a pair of magic skates like ryou's.
And finally taking out a yellow marker ryou wrote the number 99 on their shoulder pads.
"You ready partner?" Ryou asks holding out his hand.
"Let's do this." Maria nods as both got up.
Skating towards the opening both looked out to see the stadium was packed with spectators and teams.
"And now prepare yourself because…it's POWERBALL TIME!" The announcer said as the crowd cheered with excitement.
At the Powerball Arena, we find ourselves in the Owner's Box as Alistair was sitting at his desk when his secretary walks in with a stack of the applicants.
"Sir here are the forms for all the teams competition the qualifiers." She said handing it to him.
"Thank you Tazma." Alistair said taking them. "Any noteworthy teams this year?"
"Hmm maybe a few. I think I saw some Hexside students on one team." She said.
"Hexside? A little on the young side, but technically they still qualify. What's their team number?" Alistair asks flipping through the pages.
"Team 99." She informs before walking out.
"99…" Finding the page, Alistair's eyes widen in shock.
In a secret room,frost was with tax in his office as frost stood at his side.
"So the business reports are good. Blight Industries is slowly gaining some popularity but nowhere near that they could be considered trouble even though odalia is in jail I think should pay here a visit." Envy said reading his report.
"No one can ever hope to catch up to our family. They're all just fighting for second place." Tazma smirks without a care in the world.
"It truly is a mystery why they try isn't it, sir?" Envy asks rolling his eyes.
"Right you are envy." Frost said when Tazma's crystal ball began to glow.
"Do you mind?" Envy asks as Tazma nods.
Answering it Alistair appears inside it.
"Alistair, to what do I owe this pleasure?" Tazma asks.
"Uh tazma you know that boy?" Alistair asks as a panicked look appeared on her and Tazma's faces.
"Yes, yes his name is ryou." Tazma said quickly trying to shut up.
"Yeah I got the name but I know where he is." Alistair said as cooler stood.
"He's still alive?!" Tazma snaps while envy facepalms.
"Oh sweet titan." Frost groans.
"Where is he?" Tazma asks storming over.
"Oh cooler . Well he just signed up for the Powerball Qualifiers." Alistair said nervously.
"Finally a use for that sport. Put the nastiest players against him and see to it he doesn't make it off the course alive." Tazma orders.
"What? No. I can't do that." Alistair said getting their attention.
"Excuse me?" Tazma glares.
"Listen one thing I pride myself is that no one has died playing my game. I worked so hard to keep this reputation. I'm sorry but you'll just have to wait and kill him another time." Alistair said.
"I don't take orders. I give them." Tazma said hanging up and smashing frost's crystal ball.
"Hey that was mine." Tazma said.
"Meeting's over. If Alistair is too spinless to use this opportunity I will." Tazma said storming out.
"What happened?" Cooler asks walking right up to Tazma.
"This is bad. I told Alistair if he found ryou to contact me immediately. I never predicted Tazma would be in the same room when she did." A mysterious figure said revealing to be princess arkayna.
"What are we going to do? If Tazma has her way ryou life is ruined." Arkayna said.
"I got an idea, but i need to move fast." Arkayna said as they followed after envy.
At the Powerball Arena, the seats were filled with cheering fans.
"Alright folks take your seats. The selection for each round will be totally random so our racers will have no idea who they'll be facing and when. Just so it's fair." The Announcer said as the first round racers were announced while the remaining ones headed to the break rooms to wait and prepare.
In a room overlooking the arena, a worker was arranging the matches.
"Hmm this one could be interesting. Ooh this one." He said when suddenly the door opened behind cooler and Tazma walks. "Hey no one is allowed to be in here but me."
As he turned around a sack of snails was dropped in front of.
"I'd like to make some suggestions for the final race." Cooler grins while Tazma who was standing by the door had a nervous look on his face.
In the waiting rooms, ryou and Maria took off their helmets as they sat down to watch.
On screen, a Construction Witch made a ramp allowing him to leap up and grab the Orb.
"Wow these guys are good." Maria said.
"I wonder when it'll be our turn babe?" Ryou asks.
"Well either way. Win or lose at least I'll have enough money to help mom and I'm spending time with my boyfriend." Maria points out.
"Thanks for doing this ryou. You didn't have to say yes." Maria smiles.
"Well I'll admit it's kinda weird doing something like this. Never really played a public sport except with ZArya was the only one who did something remotely close to this." Ryou said.
"Yeah good thing raine didn't pull her from my head. She'd level this whole arena." Maria jokes making her giggle.

"Wow uh thank you." Maria smiles.
"I know this isn't your cup of tea but I'm glad you're my support in this." Maria said.
"Well you guys are helping me step outside my comfort zone. I'll admit I would have never considered doing something like this." Ryou said.
"Hopefully we can do good enough." Maria said.
"That all depends on our competitors." Ryou said.
Outside the arena, Apollo and King were trying to get raine's disguise on.
"Come on get that cowl up! We need to move!" Raine said.
"We're trying! It's not my fault raine can't be seen as a coven head." Apollo said.
"Maybe we should cut his hair." King said.
"Cut it my husband's hair and I will have you shaved!" Eda threatens.
"Hey how are we going to get into the arena with no tickets?" Luz asks.
"Luz I've never bought a ticket to anything in my life and there's a reason for it." Eda smirks helping them sneak in.
Up in the Owner's box, Alistair was watching the 4th round and the racers were putting on quite a show.
"Hmm not bad." Alistair said when the door opens revealing frost.
"Alistair." Frost acknowledged.
"Cooler? Wait if you're here?" Alistair realized.
"Tazma and envy are here too. Thanks to your call." Naomi said.
"Wow I never pegged envy as someone who liked my game." Alistair said.
"Oh let's just say he's got motives for being here. One that will affect you greatly if you don't do something about it." Tazma warns.
"What are you talking about?" Alistair asks.
"All I'm saying is when the time comes you will need to make a choice. you better make the obey." Tazma said stepping back leaving Alistair confused and worried.
"Wait where are you going?" Alistair asks.
"To make my own call." Tazma said heading out.
As the qualifiers kept going we were coming in on the 9th round and the Owl House residents were still running around.
"Alright ryou and maria haven't gone up yet meaning there's still time." Luz said.
"All the players are in specials rooms next to the track. We just got to find there's." Chris said.
"Oh thank Titan you're here." Emerging from the shadows we see arkayna running over.
"arkayna? How'd he get in here?" Apollo said surprised.
"You guys really don't know? Your mother friends rj belos created this sport." arkayna said.
"Wait what?!" Everyone said.
"Luz's aunt r.j created Powerball?" Apollo said blown away.
"Listen to me, Tazma is here. SHe's going to do something to ryou. I'm are trying to help Alistair see that but you need to get to the pits before the race starts. Get him out of there." arkayna urges.
"On it." They all said getting up and about to run off.

Luz Moved her head to the side all of them slowly peeked out to see frost entering the pits where all the other teams were with arkayna by the door.
"Psst arkayna." Luz whispers.
Looking over, arkayna shushes them before gesturing to the door.
Slowly sneaking over, they crept near the opening.
"Be as quiet as possible." arkayna whispers before walking in.
"There he is." Apollo glares.
"Let me at him. I'll rip that fancy outfit to shreds." King threatens.
He was about to lunge at him but envy spots them.
"As much as I would love to do that. If we attack him, we'll be labeled the bad guys. Right now we need to find our what he's up to and get ryou and maria out before something bad happens ." Eda said.
Slowly moving closer they listened in as the other 8 teams gathered around Tazma.
"Thank you for coming. Now all of you have tried out for this game several times but have all failed. In truth, you are the scum of the game. But tonight you are all handpicked scum. The final round is not a game it is a hunt arkayna said getting their attention.
"Hold on, killing isn't allowed. We do this we're banned for life." One said.
"Oh wise up you idiot. Do you really think you'll actually make it with your skills? I am offering 500,000 to the team who kills the boy named ryou." Tazma declares.
Pausing all the teams were considering the options while the Owl House residents just looked in horror.
As coo was about to turn away envy let out a loud fake cough signaling for them to move.
"Tazma ?" Envy and frost looks over.
"Forgive me, sir. A little something in my throat. Not used to this kind of atmosphere." Cooler said as the Owl House residents ran down the hall before he saw them.
"Fair enough. Let's get out of here. I'll be toasting my security tonight." Envy smiles.
"You're not going to stay here and watch?" Tazma asks.
"No thank you, this game is a waste of time. Plus I can't be in the same room don't want them linking this accident to me. Hopefully, this gives Alistair the kick in the pants he needs to shut down this stupid game and actually do something with his life." Tazma chuckles making envy glare at him for a few seconds. "You coming Tazma ?"
"You go on without me sir. I just need to have a talk with princess arkayna. Anyways Odds are she'll probably be dead by the end of the night." Tazma said.
"Excellent idea tazma in fact why don't give the lucky killer their prize money afterwards." Envy smirks walking out.
"Not if i have anything to say about it." arkayna in her mysticon dragon mage glares.
A few minutes later, the course was ready for the final round.
"Alright folks, this is it. The last round of the qualifiers, so let's make some noise for the final teams!" The announcer said as the crowds went wild. "The winner of this round will join the other winners from the previous rounds as well as receive the big snail prize. And here they are: some of these racers are familiar to you but to those who don't we have: Team 87!" Coming out first was two men who looked like beasts themselves. "Team 19!" Coming out were two women with plant vines wrapped around their arms. "Team 54!" Emerging next was two muscular guys clearly into Construction. "Team 48!" Up next a man and a woman in purple gear clearly having something Oracle-related going on. "Team 22!" Next was a duo with Elemental colors. "Team 67!" This team of ladies had fierce looks like they were ready to take everyone down. "Team 24!" Next man and women in Abomination colors stepped out. "Team 09!" Finally was a large blue-scaled demon man with a regular-sized man that had abomination goo at the ready.
Backstage the Owl House members were running towards the track.
"Hey you can't be here. Only pit crews are allowed past this point." A bouncer.
"Uh yeah we're team 99's crew." Raine said.
"Yep that's us." Apollo said nervously.
"Team 99?" He said looking at the list. "He's up next. What are you doing? Get out there!" He points.
"Thanks." Luz said as they sprinted as fast as they could.
In the owner's box, Alistair was watching with cooler and Tazma when envy walked in with a big grin on his face.
"And finally here comes this group's one new entry. Team 99!" The announcer said as maria and ryou came out.
As maria and ryou made their way to their positions maria went to the starting line while ryou got up on the support area.
"Go easy on me fellas." Maria chuckles.
"Sure kid." Team 87's racer said narrowing his eyes.
Racing into the pits, Eda, Luz,Apollo,Chris , King and raine ran to the Team 99's station.
"Maria !" Luz screams making maria and ryou wince hearing that in their helmets.
"Luz?" Looking down maria saw them waving to them from the pits.
"You guys made it." Ryou smiles.
"Ryou it's a setup you got to get out of there!" Eda said.
"What are you talking about?" Ryou asks.
"Tazma was in the backrooms. SHe bribed the other players. They're gonna kill you!" King said.
Pausing ryou looks around to see the other racers glaring at him.
"Which ones?" Ryou asks.
"ALL OF THEM!" They all screamed.
"Players is the 10-second warning." The announcer said.
Panicking all of them realized they were too late.
"Luz, Apollo King you're on the crystal balls to relay messages, Apollo you know this game throw any tips you can for Maria and ryou, you, rain and I are on the other players. Spot anything that can keep ryou alive call it out." Eda said as they scrambled around the pit area.
"Oh man I really wish we had a weapon right now." Maria said.
"Me too…but I know where I can get one." Ryou said eyeing the orb launcher.
"5 Seconds." The announcer said as the lights went from red to green and the orb was shot out starting the race.
Using Reinforcement magic, ryou launched himself ahead of the others as they chased after him.
Racing along the track, maria reaches out and grabs the orb.
"The new kid Team 99 takes possession right out of the gate!" The announcer said.
As Team 54 charges in first, ryou swings the orb whacking him in the face making him fall back and crash into Team 48's racer making him tumble across the course and as they turned a corner he fell off the course.
"Ooh! And just like that Team 48 is out!" The announcer said making the crowd go crazy.
"1 down, 8 to go!" Chris said.
"Maria get them off his tail!" King said.
"I'm trying!" Maria said following after.
Firing a blast of amber energy blast at the course she made the other teams fall back giving ryou some breathing room.
Team 19s support fires a large vine allowing her racer to ride and it catch up to ryou but at the last second team 87s racer rams her out of the way and charges towards ryou letting out a snarl.
Turning around ryou looked to see the man's body grow fur and sharp claws turning into a demon cat monster.
"What in the?!" Apollo gasps.
"That's some advanced Beast Magic right there." Raine gulps.
Swinging his claws, ryou uses the orb to try and deflect the attacks.
Roaring the Beast Racer pounces at Minato when a blast of amber energy blast hits him knocking him over ryou.
"Gotcha." Maria growls.
Turning around 87 digs his claws into the arena to slow him down enough to get ryou, but when ryou turns around he whacks him in the face with the orb sending him flying backwards.
"Oh mama! Looks like this little warlock isn't going down without a fight!" The announcer said.
In his booth, Alistair was looking at this in disbelief.
"What the heck is going on down there? Those racers aren't even going for the orb it's like they only want the hybrid." Alistair said.
"Because they've been bought out." Behind him the door opens revealing frost and Tazma .
"Tazma what's happening to my game?" Alistair asks.
"Tazma happened. SHe made those other racers an offer they couldn't refuse." Cooler said as Tazma held up a big briefcase full of the money for emphasis.
"What? No! I can't have anyone die on my course my game will be ruined forever!" Alistair panics.
"You honestly think Tazma cares sir?" Frost asks getting his attention.
"What?" Alistair asks as Tazma took a bird out of Tazma pocket.
"Hopefully this gives Alistair the kick in the pants he needs to shut down this stupid game and actually do something with his life." It said revealing cooler recorded the whole thing leaving Alistair speechless.
"He-He thinks my game is a waste of time? This game is my life's work. It took me years to perfect it and even longer to get it up and running. He can't do this to me!" Alistair snaps.
"Tazma doesn't care what happens to anyone else as long as she gets what he wants and he's not afraid to step on people to get it." Frost said.
"Wait…what's so valuable about that hybrid?" Alistair pauses realizing something. "There's something about him that we don't know isn't there?"
Nodding their heads cooler and Tazma didn't deny it.
"Just answer me this. Say I help him what will happen?" Alistair asks.
Looking to the course, ryou was narrowly avoiding all the attacks being fired at him.
This entire game, wasn't even a game anymore. Tazma was turning it into a slaughter and Minato was the bullseye.
"Come on!" Alistair said running out.
Down below on the course, ryou was racking up the points as he passed through each gate.
"Team 99 is in the lead going at 5 points while the other teams are still at zero!" The announcer said as maria entered an area with ramps on the edge.
"Maria there's a tight corner up ahead! Use it and get out one of those racers off your back!" Chris said.
"Go for Team 24's racer." Luz said.
"Tornado Lightning!" Turning around ryou fires powerful bolts of lightning forcing the other racers to dodge I am so glad Apollo thought me and Maria that ryou said.
"Abomination rise!" Team 24s racer said creating a large abomination to shield him.
"Here it comes!" King said as it got closer to ryou.
Racing up the ramp, ryou slams the orb down on the Abomination's head knocking it off.
Jumping off the support area, Team 24's support joins the racer to double team owl house.
"Maria quick!" Raine said.
Taking a deep breath she breathes a cloud of steam obscuring their view.
Using this opening ryou slams the orb down like a brake making him pull back and slide behind Team 24.
Before they could counter ryou nails them with a dragon fist sending them flying off the course.
"2 teams down folks! But this still anyone's game!" The announcer said.
As maria raced ahead that braking manuver was coming back to haunt him because now the remaining teams were catching up to him.
"Maria ditch the ball, it's slowing you down." Eda said.
"You don't need points anymore you need to cross that finish line at this point sister." Apollo said.
"Fine." Having reinforcement magic surround the orb, maria spins around and around before throwing it at Team 54's racer hitting him right in the stomach.
"Ryou now!" King said as ryou made a light whip whacking Team 54's racer out cold.
"Ooh that's gonna leave a mark!" The announcer said as the crowd winced.
Racing down a long straight path, Team 22s racer created a giant fireball and launched it at maria's fight resulting in the explosion knocking him off his skates.
As he tumbled down the track, Team 19 hurled a plant vine that wrapped around his arm.
Yanking her in she sent ryou crashing against the wall.
Struggling to get up, ryou cuts the vine but just as he was about to get up Team 67's racer and support grab him by the arms.
"Die!" Both ladies yell smashing maria down against the track sending sparks flying. If he wasn't wearing a helmet this would fatal.
"Oh no! Team 67 has Team 99 in a lot of trouble!" The announcer said.
"Maria !" Luz screams in horror.
"Ryou get in there!" King orders.
Jumping off the platform, ryou races down the track.
Unleashing a wave of energy he knocks them away from Maria allowing him to race in and help her up.
"Thank you ryou. You saved my life." Maria pants catching her breath.
"Don't thank me yet. We're not out of danger yet." Ryou said as both Team 67 ladies glared at them.
Going on the attack, ryou pulls maria out of the way as the two of them fired a dangerous combo of wind and water to keep the remaining teams away.
"While their teamwork is good they can't do this forever." Apollo said.
"Ryou only has a few minutes." Raine said as the other supports started joining in.
"What do we do?" Luz asks when Alistair's face appeared on their crystal ball.
"Hello! Hello is this maria's team?" Alistair's voice said through the crystal ball.
"Who is this?" Raine asks.
"Listen to me you have to tell Maria and her partner to do exactly what I say if you want them to walk out of this course alive." Alistair said.
"How do we know we can trust you?" Eda asks.
"Because he's with me." arkayna said next to him.
"arkayna." They all smiled.
"Alright listen I know every inch of this course and how to use them to your advantage. Relay these messages to them exactly." Alistair said.
As they reached a large ram, ryou and Maria were forced to gain speed.
"Maria listen to me. Right when you jump fire ice along the edge of the ramp." Raine said.
"What dad?" Maria said confused.
"Just do it!" Raine orders.
Looking at each other both decided it was better than nothing.
As they leaped off the giant ramp maria turned around and fired ice on it and as a result Team 67 slipped and fell short not making it to the other side.
"You know they felt one folks!" The announcer said.
"Yes." Alistair grins pumping his fist.
"Good call guys, keep it coming." Ryou said.
Seeing this Teams 87, 09, 19 and 22 made the jumps and continued after.
Entering the spiral tunnel, Team 22s support releases a ball of light temporarily blinding maria.
Using this opening the racer rams into her knocking her to the side.
"Maria !" Raine gasps.
Shaking off the damage she sees both members ram into ryou sending him spinning around the tunnel.
"Oh that's it." Mustering up all his strength, ryou creates two purple energy whips and lashes them out tying up both team members.
Roaring he yanks them both in with all her might sending them smashing into each other and out of the tunnel.
"And Team 99 is showing how fierce they are both with the racer and support!" The announcer said.
Turning around maria looked at ryou with a big smile until a buzzer went off signalling ryou had to get back into the support platform.
"Oh no not know." Chris said as climbed back on.
"Now she can't come down to help for another few minutes." Apollo cringed.
"Maria might not last that long." King said.
"Come on! We need more tips!" Luz said to the crystal ball.
"I'm working on it." Alistair said.
Seeing he was all alone, the big demon from Team 09 decided to make his move.
Sending lots of energy to his skates, he shot out like a rocket and rammed into ryou like a hockey player making him scream in pain.
"Nowhere to run now kid." He grins.
Making sparks of electricity, ryou zaps him off him.
"Gale palm!" aiming his hands backwards ryou released the gale giving him a turbo boost to shoot past the other players and give him some breathing.
"He's almost to the finish line. If he can make it he's home free." Alistair said.
"Then he better hurry." Cooler said as all 3 teams gained on him.
As Team 19 swings their vines at him, Team 87 go full beast mode, and Team 09 brings the Abominations and the pain ryou was in a tight spot.
"Give me a boost!" Team 09's racer said.
As his support has his Abomination grab him, it spins him around and whips him straight after ryou.
"Time to die!" He yells with his claws gleaming.
"Ryou look out!" Luz yells.
Bending backwards, ryou tries to avoid it but the claws hit something causing ryou to fall backwards tumbling all the way down the ramp.
Groaning in pain, ryou struggles to get up but when something hits the ground.
He activates his energy field blocking the attack.
The abomination keeps slashing then his energy field breaks.
It was about to attack but Maria blocked with her body
Gasping widening all of ryou's friends gasped.
Growling ryou slowly gets up and turns to the other racers.
"No one hurts my girlfriend !" Ryou roars as something snaps in him.
a bright energy shined from under his clothes.
As 09 catches up to him, he goes in for the finisher but at the last second ryou grabs his arm surprising him.
"You're gonna pay for that." Ryou roared with glowing eyes before elbowing him in the face then he turned into his demon form.
As the 6 racers look in shock demon ryou raced his arm.
"Alright you jerks you want to play hardball well so can I!" Demon Ryou roars before slamming his hand to the ground causing a large Abomination appear"Rise!"
Shooting out of the ground the abomination goo began to take form but it wasn't like his standard Elemental Abominations. This one was larger, glowing with Reinforcement aura around it, two large indigo wings, and glowing red eyes.
"Red Eyes Abomination Dragon!" Demon Ryou declares his Abomination Dragon roars echoing through the arena.
"Dios Mio." Luz gasps.
Looking at it, Alister drops his crystal ball in disbelief.
"Oh wow! Would you look at that! Don't touch that crystal ball folks! It is as unbelievable as it appears!" The announcer said.
"I've never seen an Abomination like that before." Eda gasps.
"Me and Chris thought him a few day after grom?" Apollo said when Luz notices something.
"Wait is that Reinforcement magic?" Luz points to the aura around it.
"Of course, Reinforcement magic increases your strength and other attributes which is allowing that big thing to not only maintain its size but get stronger by it." Raine realized.
"Well one thing's for sure. I would not want to be those guys right now." Chris said.
Growling the Red Eyes Abomination floated behind demon ryou as he starred the Powerball teams down.
"You guys are gonna regret what you tried today." Ryou said as he and his Abomination took a deep breath. "Sky Dragon Roar!" Demon Ryou yells as he and his dragon released a devastating combined breath attack his was a powerful gust of wind and the Dragon released a dark breath attack that when combined it sent all the remaining players flying off the track and into the wall.
When the wind died down everyone looked in shock and awe at what just happened.
"I-I don't believe this! What a finisher! Team 99 has won the final round of the qualifiers!" The announcer declares as the crowd burst into cheers.
They went other walked over to see Maria who was no longer injured how did luz said but she cut off by Maria saying thanks to my tailed I can heal very quickly.
"He did it!" Luz cheers as she, King and Apollo hug.
"That was amazing!" Alistair cheers as arkayna applaud him.
"Did you know he could do that?" arkayna asks.
"Not at all but I'm very happy he can." arkayna smiles.
Taking off her helmet, maria ran over to him.
"Ryou that was incredible. You really did it." Maria smiles but when ryou turns to her he returned to normal before dropping to the ground.
"Ryou!" They all gasped.
An hour later, we find ourselves in the medical room as arkayna and Maria were healing him up.
"Wow arkayna you're good at this." Maria said.
"Yeah well when your mother makes you teaches healing classes you learn a few things or your life gets hard." arkayna said.
"So my aunt rj help build this place?" Luz said talking to Alistair.

"Well you know you kids did technically win the qualifiers so you do meet the requirements to join the Season. And let's face it you have no idea how sharp your skills can get playing here." Alistair points.
"You want us to come back?" Ryou asks.
"Look I'm not kidding here. That finisher of yours was beyond incredible and all of you did great. Whether it was providing support and trying to read the other teams. Plus whether you win or lose you get a decent cash prize." Alistair points.
"We'll think about but right now, I think I just want to go back to the Owl House and get some rest." Maria said.
"So how angry do you think tazma is gonna be when he learns his hired help failed again?" Ryou asks.

Leaving the room he saw everyone in their sleepwear hanging out in the living room.
"Hey ryou you wanna join us?" Apollo asks seeing Luz and Maria dueling.
"I got winner but you can play the loser of this match." Apollo offers.
"This is pretty fun game." Apollo said sitting next to Luz.
