TaiKetch'em: Anyway, I'm back, and… I read the last chapter.
AshFan: What did you think?
TaiKetch'em: It's pretty good… to say the least.
AshFan: I'll take it.
TaiKetch'em: I didn't say it was bad, I just-Oh, you didn't say-Nevermind. Uh, so questions to be answered.
Number 1: Is it possible that Ash will get a Shiny Golurk? … I mean we could, but… well, might be hard to think of a scenario where he gets one but, we can try.
Number 2: Will Ash be using aura in this story? Well, that's the plan.
Number 3: Will Ash befriend Cletus, Collin, and Keenie-No… no, absolutely not. In fact, I hope we find these little shits dead in the later Helluva Boss episodes.
AshFan: Damn. Harsh much?
TaiKetch'em: I don't like these little 'Cherubs'. Now hand me the rest of the list-
AshFan: I already answered them.
TaiKetch'em: … What?
AshFan: Yeah, already did it last chapter.
TaiKetch'em: And that was it? We didn't get any more?
AshFan: Other than repeating questions, no we didn't.
TaiKetch'em: Damn.
AshFan: Yeah, you wanna just start the chapter?
TaiKetch'em: … Alright. Let's do it.
AshFan: By the way, did you hear that Megamind got a sequel?
TaiKetch'em: … Oh god no.
AshFan: Yeah, I bought it, I'm going to the next room to watch it. You can join if you want.
TaiKetch'em: Uh, wait, wait, don't-He left. Uh, enjoy the chapter. I have to go save him from being traumatized.
(Hazbin Hotel 2 Days after the last chapter events)
Vaggie woke up early and sat up while yawning. She adjusted her nightgown before turning to her side, seeing Charlie wrapped up in and snoring cutely in the blanket. She smiled while brushing a hand over the princess' head. Her smile then turned into a frown before she got up and started to get changed when Ash came to mind.
'Sent from Heaven and doesn't even know who sent him. Yeah right. If that kid was sent from Heaven, he means trouble. Even if someone up there knew about the hotel, they wouldn't send someone down here to help. Especially not him.' She says as she takes out new clothes, then thinks about how he held Charlie on the balcony and gritted her teeth. 'There's no way he's not up to something, and I'm not falling for it.'
(Sometime later)
As Vaggie finished changing into her normal attire, she left her room, quietly closing the door. She then heard a flash before looking down the corridor, seeing a light fading before she hastily jogged over there. She found Ash right in the middle of the place before quickly hiding herself as he was looking around.
"And we're here early again." Ash sighed before scratching his head. "Maybe I should wait a little later before teleporting."
"Pikachu." Pikachu says.
And so the two started to wander around the place, Vaggie was up on the ceiling, shuffling around while eyeing him sharply. They checked out the bar, looking around it for a second before leaving. They passed the fireplace before going back to the couch and grabbing the remote.
"Hopefully I can find something normal this time." Ash says before turning on the TV.
"Welcome to 'Cannibal's Kitchen'! Where we fix up recipes to your cannibalistic heart's content-" He turned the TV off.
"Yeah, never mind. Ya wanna just go take a look outside Pikachu?"
"Pika."
'I'm gonna find out just what the hell you're up to. You can't fool me.' Vaggie thought to herself as she quietly followed him to the entrance of the hotel.
Ash stepped out the front doors and for once, it seemed rather quiet. No gunshots or screaming and the city in the distance didn't look like it had any fires. That seemed to relieve him at the very least. He then turned and looked at the hotel before him.
"Woah, the outside looks a lot bigger." He says in amazement before tilting his head a bit. "Kinda looks weird though."
He wasn't wrong. From the outside, it looked like a normal hotel, although it had a lot of random things attached to it, strangely enough. The most notable was the movie theater booth on the front that still had 'coming soon' on it. He didn't think about it, but the other thing was the arrows pointing to a booth on the top left of the hotel with 'ON AIR' atop it. On the opposite end was a pirate ship sticking out.
"Weird, but cool." Ash says before looking away again then walking over and sitting against the wall, looking up at the sky. "Makes sense that the sky wouldn't be blue, also makes you wonder how people tell if it's day or night." He then heard a yawn and looked down, seeing Pikachu curl up in his lap and go into slumber. "Heh, still a bit pooped, huh bud?"
While they sat, Vaggie was hanging onto the hotel from above just enough to be out of view. She had a scowl on her face as she lowered herself so that she could hear whatever the boy was saying, content on finding whatever dirt she could to prove he wasn't trustworthy.
"She really put a lot of work into this hotel. It's kinda a shame." Ash started talking to himself. "All she wants to do is good, yet no one is giving her a shot."
The demon girl raised a brow when hearing it, but kept listening. The boy took out his Arc Phone and looked at it.
"Well, whoever sent me this, at least they got good intentions." He says which makes her expression soften. "Don't know if I'm the right person to help Charlie." Then she appeared shocked.
Ash looked back at the city, at the tower which now had 361 on it. He felt uneasy just looking at it, and even more uneasy at the thought of what it could be counting down to.
"It's okay. Surely there's gotta be some people as good as her out there, right? All she wants is to help people. I should at least try." He says before looking down. "And I forgot you were asleep." He laughed before petting Pikachu. "She'll be able to do it, and I'll help her. However, I can anyway."
Hearing that, Vaggie stopped glaring at him. Her face looked somber and guilty look on her face. It was like at that moment, all the malice she held for him slowly vanished. With a small smack to the head and a sigh, she started to move again, before she ended up slipping and hanging over the edge.
"Shit, shit!" She yelled which caught the boy's attention, waking up his Pokemon.
She tried to pull herself up, but the edge she was holding on broke off and she started to fall. Seeing this, Ash quickly got to his feet as Pikachu hopped off his lap. Before she hit the ground, he was able to catch her. She panted a bit, holding onto him before realizing she was being held in a bridal position.
"You okay, Vaggie?" Ash asked as she looked at him.
She stared right into his eyes and a tint of red spread across her face. "Uh… y-yeah. T-thanks." She says while looking away.
"What happened up there?"
"I was…" Vaggie got down quickly. "I-I was… t-trying to fix a… a thing… up there and… and it just… yeah." She tried to say which made the boy puzzled.
"Was it the railing on the balcony?"
"Y-yeah, yeah that's exactly what I was doing. I was trying to…" She started to say, and he seemed to be getting convinced at first. However, the longer she looked at him, the more guilt began to sink in. "Okay, look, I'm sorry, I was eavesdropping on you."
"What? Why?"
"Again, I'm sorry. It's just when I heard that you were possibly sent from Heaven, I-I got… I-I just…" She sputtered over her words before rubbing her face. "I'm not exactly a fan of the angelic realm-"
"I wouldn't imagine many demons down here liking it."
"So, I just figured you were… I-I'm sorry again. I'm sorry."
"Relax, it's okay. No hard feelings. But you don't have to worry, 'cause I'm not gonna do anything to you or anyone here." Ash tells her before giving her a thumbs up. "You can count on me."
Her blush deepened while looking at his smile. "I'll keep that in mind."
"Pika." They turned to Pikachu who was pointing to the back of the hotel.
They got curious and followed him to see what he was referring to, before stopping when they saw a group of demons. And if you thought they were up to anything bad, oh you'd be so right.
"Be quiet dumbass. You wanna fucking alert them or something?" A humanoid wolf with black fur and red eyes says in annoyance.
"Shut up, asshole. I'm trying here." A bulky red-skinned demon with goat horns says.
"Well, clearly you're not trying hard enough, shitface."
"Both of you shut the fuck up before you wake the entire place up!" A tiny blue-skinned demon with wings tells them while setting a ladder up. "Listen, that princess bimbo has to have something of value to sell. We swipe whatever we can, sell that shit, and spend the night with hookers to celebrate."
"Ugh, figures we get people trying to rob us." Vaggie says in annoyance.
"Hookers?" Ash asked which made her look shocked.
"D-d-don't… worry about it. In fact, don't ask anyone what those are." She says before pushing him back so that he's out of sight, then taking out a spear. "Stay there and let me take care of this."
"Wait, what are you gonna do to them?"
"Hopefully something that doesn't involve getting blood on the walls." She then says before stepping out. "Hey! Assholes!" She called which made the three jump before looking at her. "You get one chance to get the fuck out of here before I make you regret coming here."
"Oh shit, it's that psycho girlfriend of hers." The wolf says.
"Uh, uh…" The blue-skinned demon stuttered… before pulling out a handgun and firing.
Vaggie quickly dodged it before charging at them. The blue demon fumbled with the gun, just managing to cock it before she knocked it out of his hand. The bulky tried to punch her but she ducked and slammed the butt of her spear into his abs causing him to wheeze hard before she did a roundhouse kick at his face as the blue demon backed away.
The wolf frantically pulled out a dagger and ran after her. She turned around and quickly dodged his swing but he kept going, causing her to stumble before she spun around and kicked him, unfortunately, she didn't have time to dodge the bulky demon who sucker punched and sent her to the ground. Seeing this, Ash got worried, especially since the wolf put a foot on her hand, causing her to lose the spear.
"Haha, oh how the tables have turned, huh bitch?" The wolf laughed as she glared at him while he picked up the spear. "See ya!" He laughed as he raised it above his head.
Vaggie braced for the inevitable before the demon got punched in the face and sent rolling like fifty feet away, dropping the spear. She opened her eye and looked up, seeing it was Ash who saved her.
"Why you little-!" The bulky guy was about to attack before he felt something on his head and looked up. "What the fu-?" He started to say before Pikachu hit him with a thunderbolt, causing him to fall to the ground, spasming afterward.
"Good job, Pikachu." Ash says before looking down and offering a hand. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'll live." Vaggie says while grabbing her spear and taking his hand as he helps her up.
"Fuck, fuck, FUCK!" The blue-skinned demon got scared as he fumbled with his gun before quickly aiming.
Ash saw. "Get down!" He quickly pushed the demon girl away as the gunshot rang out, his head jerked back and he fell to the ground, losing his hat.
"NO!" Vaggie yelled as she caught herself and ran to him.
"PIKA!" Pikachu yelled before also running to him.
"Oh, shit… I got one! I fucking got one!" The blue demon cheered.
The duo checked the boy, finding him lying motionless on the ground. The electric Pokemon pushed his arm to get his trainer to wake up, but it didn't work. Vaggie's face slowly scrunched to anger before she turned to the demon and charged at him. He got scared and quickly dodged her swing before firing, hitting her leg and causing her to scream as she fell again, clenching her thigh.
"Haha! Dumbass!" The blue demon laughed before Pikachu headbutted him, and bounced over before hitting him with an iron tail which sent him down. "Fucking shit!" He says as he gets up while wiping blood from his nose.
Vaggie glared while on one knee holding her spear up and Pikachu had a death glare while emitting electricity throughout his body.
"Oh don't give me that look." The demon then aimed at them. "This is just survival you dumb-" He stopped as he felt something bounce off his head. "What the fuck?" He says before looking down.
He bent down before picking up what it was. He inspected it, looking at it from different angles. Pikachu and Vaggie's faces slowly changed to shock when they saw something rise behind the demon.
After a second, he recognized it as a bullet that was scrunched like paper. He looked confused before noticing a glow behind him. Fear plastered on his face as he slowly turned around, only to be met with a fist to the face. From the distance, you could hear a faint boom.
Up close, Pikachu and Vaggie coughed as the dust began to settle. They looked over and a small distance from them, they could see a large crack in the wall, a blood trail leading down to the headless body of the blue demon which lay against it. Once again, shock filled their faces before they looked back and saw Ash standing, fist out with a blue glow, face looking angry, and his eyes glowing blue.
"Fuck, agh." The wolf got back while massaging his jaw before his eyes widened. "Oh no, no, no…" He started muttering while running past the boy.
"Ugh, what?" The bulky demon says as he is just coming to before realizing the crack and his buddy's body. "Oh fuck!" He says as he and his other body went over to the body.
After a second, Ash's eyes and hand stopped glowing blue. His face slowly changed, looking down at his hand as realization started to kick in.
"Rip? Rip!?" Bulky says.
"He's fucking headless! You think he's gonna answer?!" The wolf says before looking at the boy. "You-you killed him! You fucking killed him!"
"No… no, I… I-I…" Ash muttered as he stepped back.
"Oh shit, he just killed Rip." The wolf says.
"I can see that! Let's get the fuck out of here before we're next!" Bulky says while picking his buddy up and running off. "You ain't seen the last of us! You… weird as fuck looking demon."
Ash watched them go past him and stared before looking back at the mess he just created and put a hand to his head.
"What did I just do?" He mumbled to himself.
"Ash?" Vaggie called out, not getting a response. "Ash! Hey! Ash!" She called again getting him to snap from his thoughts. "Hey-GH!" She tried to get up but grunted as she fell on her butt.
"Vaggie!" Ash said before running over to her.
"Ugh…" She looked at her leg which was bleeding a golden yellow. "Dammit, this is gonna be a bitch to deal with." She says as the boy lifted turned it.
"Okay, it didn't get stuck in, so we should be good." He took off his backpack and took out medical supplies.
"Why do you-?"
"I've got to be prepared for anything, especially when it comes to traveling. Now, hold still, this is going to sting."
He brought up a bottle and sprayed the wound, to which Vaggie let out a small yelp before hissing in pain. He took a second before spraying the other side to which she was able to brace herself for the pain before he started wiping them. With him being so close, she could see the look of genuine worry on his face.
This wasn't an act, he wasn't pretending to care. If the feeling of distrust hadn't been lowered already, it was just about gone.
"Pika…" Ash heard before looking down and seeing Pikachu holding his jacket, looking up at him with the same amount of worry.
"It's okay, bud. I'm gonna be fine." The boy says while petting his head as he takes out gauze and wraps it around her thigh.
Vaggie then looked up at his forehead, seeing a mark that was almost covered by his hair. 'Holy shit.' She thought to herself before looking at the headless corpse. "Ash, what was… that thing you did?" She asked as he looked at her puzzled. "That thing with the blue light, or whatever it was that you punched that guy with."
He took a second before rubbing his head. "I don't know what you're talking about."
"What?"
"I blacked out after hearing the shot and well, I was standing, and… there was that." He says while gesturing to the thing.
"Oh…"
"I know you're gonna ask me why I decided to do that, and you don't have to." He tells her. "I just can't stand by and watch someone die. If there's a chance I can help… well, I'm gonna take that chance."
Vaggie stared at him for a moment before chuckling. "Okay, just… don't be reckless. You're not immortal."
"I kinda figured." Ash said before throwing her free arm over his shoulder and helping her up. "Let's get you inside."
He took a glance at the damage he did, before shaking his head as he started helping the demon girl walk while Pikachu followed with his trainer's hat. She looked back where he looked, the corpse falling over.
'Must've been a hellborn.' She thought to herself before looking at her wrapped leg. 'How am I supposed to protect Charlie if I got overwhelmed this easily?'
Once they were out of sight, they hadn't noticed a certain red-haired demon come into view, walking over to the corpse and smiling widely.
(Inside the hotel)
"Ugh, what the fuck was that noise?" Angel says while walking out as did the princess while fully dressed.
"I don't know." Charlie yawned before hearing the front door open and seeing the boy walking in. "Wha, Ash?" She asked before seeing her girlfriend. "Vaggie!" She then ran down as the silver-haired girl was helped to the couch. "What happened!? Why is your leg bandaged!? Who did this!?" She says as her eyes turn red and silver.
"Babe, it's okay." Vaggie tells her as she sits up. "There's was some assholes trying to break in and… well, things got ugly. But Ash and Pikachu helped me."
"Really?" Charlie says as she calmed down before looking at the boy.
"Yeah, they were a big problem, but-" Ash started to say before she ran up and hugged him.
"Thank you! THANK YOU!" She practically screamed as she hugged him tight enough to hear a crack.
"No problem." He said as she let go and he gasped to catch his breath again.
"Vaggie, next time, you come to me. I don't care if I'm asleep, I don't care if I'm doing something, you tell me no matter what!" The princess tells her girlfriend.
"Right, I'll keep that in mind next time." Vaggie tells her.
"Wait, what the fuck did you do that caused the place to fucking shake harder than a vibrator?" Angel asked.
"... Uh… well…" Ash says, hesitantly.
Pikachu saw and ran in front of the furry demon. "Pika!" He created sparks from his cheeks.
"Holy shit, that was you?" Angel asked while getting a nod in return. "That… wow. Ya ain't one to be fucked with, are ya?" He says as the Pokemon scratches his ear.
"Indeed." Alastor says as he walks in. "Hope you don't mind, there was a bit of a bit of a mess outside but I took care of it." He says which makes the boy sigh in relief. "You certainly made quite the ruckus. I'm sad that you didn't invite me to the show."
"I think I'd rather you not be there." Vaggie says with a scowl.
(Meanwhile)
The two demons that fled had made it to the city, huffing and puffing as they went into an alleyway. They took a second to catch their breaths, still wheezing a bit.
"Oh fuck… Oh fuck, fuck, fuck!" The wolf demon says while pacing around. "Man, Rip is dead. He's actually-" He was slapped.
"Will you stop repeating that!? I fucking know!" Bulky says in annoyance.
"I just… I can't believe it. He just… they mutilated him with a spear."
"It obviously wasn't the fucking spear dumbass."
"What are you talking about? Sinners can't be killed by anything but an angelic weapon!"
"STOP REPEATING THE OBVIOUS, DIPSHIT!" Bulky says before looking back at the hotel. "My point is, that spear couldn't make something that destructive."
"So, what? Was it that weird-looking demon that did that?"
"Hell would I know. Maybe it was. Maybe he had like… I don't know, an angelic grenade or some shit."
"Ya think so?"
"What else?"
The wolf then looked away while putting a hand on the wall. The bulky demon thought for a moment before smirking.
"Ya know, with information like this, we might be able to do something with it." He says before stepping closer and whispering. "If we bring this information to the news, we might get something out of it. 'Hazbin Hotel, the shitty place for redemption kills sinners that it is meant to save' think of what we could get from that… especially if we get that information to the almighty Vees."
Then the wolf started to smile. "Yeah… yeah, yeah, it'll be big and we'll not just be rich… we'll be famous! Ya know things might actually be looking up-"
Before he finished, both of them were shot rapidly before falling, bleeding out on the sidewalk. Then a snake-looking demon with a rifle that had glowing symbols jumped down before chuckling.
"Y'all make this too easy." He chuckles before putting the gun away and walking off. "That's two bounties down."
(Back with the crew)
Vaggie was sitting on the couch with Charlie beside her and Pikachu in her lap for comfort, getting head scratches in return. Angel was off cause he had somewhere to be for work, and Alastor… well, he disappeared to who knows where with no trace. Ash was at the bar sitting on a stool, thinking about what he had just done.
He opened the hand that he had used… He stared for a minute, not moving as he was still processing what he had used it for.
"Hey, kid." He jumped before looking up. "Woah, tense much?" The cat man asked with a brow raised.
"..." He looked back at his hand for a moment before looking back at him. "M-maybe."
"Ya know if I didn't know any better, I'd think you had just killed someone."
"Haha, yeah, uh…"
"Hey, you don't need to hide it, pal. Did ya?" The cat asked which made him look surprised. "Thought so. It ain't my first time seeing someone like you. Still, I was not expecting you of all people to do that."
"I-I didn't mean to, I got angry, and… and… Oh, man."
"Don't let it get to ya. Probably have to get used to it though. It's probably not gonna be the last time."
"I never wanted there to be a first time for that."
The cat just sighed while shaking his head. "Ash right? The name's Husk. And let me tell ya, I've been down here for a long time already, and when I first got down here, there are… mistakes I made too that landed my ass here. Hell, I don't even wanna be here. The only reason I'm here is because of that red cherry asshole."
"Alastor?"
"Yeah, I'm under contract with him, so I can't do much when he orders me around."
"I didn't know he was your boss."
"Well, technically not really boss. Contracts where you come from don't work the same down here. Like I said, we all make mistakes that we end up regretting later on."
"But the point of this place is to help people, not kill them."
"Bud, I ain't about to sit here all goddamn day going in circles with you. Ya killed someone, not that big a deal." Husk tells him before exhaling through his nose. "For fuck's sake. Okay, let me put it this in a way you'll hopefully get. They were trying to do something bad right?"
"Well, yeah, but-"
"And they were trying to kill you first, right?" The cat man asked. "And your pals." He cuts off the boy before he can speak leaving him looking down. "Ya get it now. If ya hadn't done it then…" He trailed off.
"They could've died?"
"Exactly. Now like I said, try not to let this place get to you. I guarantee you, there's a lot more you haven't to see." Husk finished as the boy looked over at the girl who now had Razzle and Dazzle with them, playing with Pikachu while Nifty was going by with a broom, sweeping. "Look, I ain't a therapist. If you want less shitty advice… well, wish you luck on that."
Ash took a second to gather his next words. "Thanks Husk."
"Don't mention it."
And now Ash was left to his thoughts once again, with Keekee coming up to his shoulder, rubbing her head against him. He let out a small laugh while scratching her ear, the worry slowly dimming in his mind.
(The next day)
Ash was in his room, waking up. Once again, he did it before his alarm could go off. This time he was annoyed.
"That dream still isn't happening." He groaned well sitting up. "Is that guy just not gonna show up anymore?"
He looked to his side and saw Pikachu lying next to him still sound asleep. He petted the little Pokemon's head while smiling down at him. Then thoughts of yesterday came to mind.
"They were trying to kill you first, right? If ya hadn't done it then…"
"They could've died?"
"Exactly. Now like I said, try not to let this place get to you."
'Maybe he's right.' He thought for a moment before realizing what he thought and smacking himself in the head. 'Really? What am I thinking?' He mentally scolded himself.
But then he looked down at Pikachu, then thought back to how Vaggie got shot. Not to mention, that group of demons didn't seem to be giving up any time soon. If he hadn't killed one of them, would they have just up and left or… His head was in a bit of pain for a second before he looked up.
'I should at least try to avoid killing, as much as I can. I don't need to kill and I especially don't need to think about doing it… hopefully.'
Then he looked at his hand.
"That thing with the blue light, or whatever it was that you punched that guy with."
The Vaggie's words came back to him. The mention of blue light reminded him of something he hadn't dealt with a long time ago. He sat on the edge of his bed while looking at his hands.
'I haven't used aura in a long time. Why is it just coming out now?' He thought to himself.
Curious, he made a sphere formation with his hands and focused. At first, nothing happened, but he kept trying. He was going for about a minute, still trying to bring his aura out. Another five minutes went by, then another four, but after ten minutes, nothing happened.
"Ugh, come on. This can't be hard." Ash says before trying it again, and this time a small spark happened between his hands. "Woah." He kept going until that spark created a tiny sphere and he stopped with the formation to hold it in his hand. "It worked." He says before it disappeared. "Wait, no, no, no! Ugh, okay, let me try again."
He moved his hands back into formation and tried to do it again. This time he went for about half an hour before stopping and groaning in annoyance. He tried again to do it for a few more minutes. Just as a spark was starting to appear, the sound of his alarm clock threw off his focus. He looked at the clock and growled before smacking it, causing it to burst into pieces which startled him.
"... uh…" He started for a moment before looking back and forth and rushing out of the room.
He came back with a broom and dustpan, quickly cleaning up the pieces before going back downstairs to dump them in the trash. Then he looked back at his hands.
'I gotta find a way to control this if I'm gonna use it to help them.'
(Later that day in Hell)
This time we join our hero on the couch at the parlor once again.
"Wow, so this thing had information on Pokemon around your world?" Charlie says while holding up Ash's Pokedex.
"Not exactly around the world. Depending on which region you get a Pokedex in you can only get data on the Pokemon there." Ash explained while Keekee was sleeping in his lap. "But ya know, I got mine upgraded so I have data from six different regions."
"Really?"
"Yeah. It also counts as my ID and Pokemon Trainer license so I can't lose it or break it."
"Why not just carry them separately to avoid losing them all at once?" Vaggie asked.
Ash opened his mouth but then closed it and thought for a moment. "For convenience? I mean, if it means carrying less around. But I did learn a lot of different Pokemon from it."
"So, how does it work?" Charlie asked before accidentally pointing it at Pikachu which caused it to ding and startle her a bit.
"Pikachu: the Mouse Pokemon." The device said.
"He's a mouse?" Vaggie asked with a raised brow, only getting a shrug in return.
"When angered, Pikachu will discharge the energy stored in the pouches in its cheeks. When several Pikachu gather together their electricity can build and cause lightning storms."
"Destruction!?" Nifty popped up, startling Ash.
"No, no destruction Nifty." Vaggie says as the cyclops pouts.
"Hold up, there's more than one of that thing?" Angel asks.
"Yeah, there's plenty of Pikachu around to world. Well, except strangely in Unova. That's probably the only region I know of that doesn't have them." Ash explains before the princess squeals.
"Vaggie, look! It's a whittle baby Pikachu!" Charlie then showed her the entry she was on.
"Oh wow, that is… that is… I-I'm not gonna lie that is cute." Vaggie chuckled a bit.
"Damn, that's what the little electric rodent used to be?" Angel says while looking as well which offended Pikachu.
"Firstly, don't call him a rodent. Secondly, that's Pichu." Ash says before pressing the button on the device.
"Pichu: The Tiny Mouse Pokémon. Also, the pre-evolved form of Pikachu. The electric sacs on Pichu's cheeks are small. If it tries to store more electricity than it can hold, Pichu will shock itself."
"This poor thing hurts itself? Aw…" Charlie says while clutching her heart.
"Pre-evolved? Does that mean these things aren't around anymore?" Vaggie asked.
"No, they still are around. Pokemon have about one to three stages of evolution that can be triggered by a few things, but mainly they tend to evolve after winning a certain amount of battles and getting stronger." Ash explains.
"They have to beat each other up to evolve?" Husk asked.
"OOOH! I wanna see it! Make them fight right now!" Nifty says before grabbing Razzle and Dazzle, shoving them at Pikachu. "FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!"
"Cut it out, Nif-Agh!" Vaggie says trying to stand up before almost falling as Charlie grabs her.
"Careful! Your leg's still hurt." Charlie tells her.
"Yeah, kinda forgot about it." Vaggie says the two dragons wiggled out of the cyclops' hold and flew away.
"Thing is, fighting's not the only way. Sometimes it depends on the weather, whether it's night or day, or even a certain stone can help them evolve." Ash continued to explain.
"I think that's how normal evolution works, dumbass." Angel says.
"Well, when evolution does happen, can it be from the close bond between you and your best friend?" Ash asked while Looking at Pikachu who smiled at him which Charlie only awed at.
"Okay, I'm done listening to this corny Disney bullshit." The white demon says while leaving as Husk opens a drink.
"Seriously?" Ash asked, offended before rubbing his forehead. "It does sound corny, doesn't it?"
"Kinda. Just a little bit." Vaggie tells him as the princess decides to look through the Pokedex.
"Ooh, Electrode." Charlie says while picking an entry.
"Electrode: The Sphere Pokemon. It is dangerous. If it has too much electricity and has nothing to do, it amuses itself by exploding."
"Exploding!?" She exclaimed in shock as Nifty went to her.
"And there's one of the dangerous one." Ash mumbles.
"Damn, so this thing just straight-up suicides for shits and giggles? Is it even alive to laugh at the joke?" Angel asked as Nifty giggled.
"Oh, it is. It most definitely is. Electrodes and Voltorbs can create a huge explosion that'll hurt anything nearby and still be alive afterward. However, along with its pre-evolution Voltorb, they are normally used to help power generators with how much electricity they use."
"Still, that is… not what I was expecting to find. That is fucking dark. They don't get hurt by that shit?"
"... T-they actually do get some recoil to it."
"Fuck so they're masochists too? Man, I changed my mind about your world." Angel chuckled before going to the bar.
"Vaggie, why don't you look for something?" Charlie says while offering the Pokedex.
"Sure." Vaggie says while taking the device and looking through it while mumbling to herself. "Hmm, this one looks interesting."
"Bisharp, that's a pretty cool one." Ash says.
(Next day)
Gible was brought back to the hotel and was back to helping Nifty out with the 'bug' problem. While at it, Ash decided to bring another Pokemon of his to the place, that of which was Quilava. Said Pokemon was going around, curiously sniffing until he came to a stain on the carpet which made him reel back before shaking his head and avoiding a rotch that went by which was being chased by the one-eyed gremlin.
Ash walked over and sat on one of the chairs, Angel just lying on one of the couches while scrolling through his phone.
"Hey." Ash says.
"Hey." Angel said back.
"So, what's work like for you?"
The fluffy demon gave him a side-eye. "You wouldn't get it."
"Why?"
"It's an adult thing."
"Oh come on, try me." The boy insisted as the demon sighed.
"I'm a sex worker."
"... Oh… oh…"
Hearing that, Angel's eyes widened before looked at him. "You know what sex is?"
"Well, yeah. I mean, I'm not that young."
We're just gonna assume that the time Ash has between traveling he goes to school.
"How the fuck do you know what sex is, but didn't get what I said about it?"
"Wait, 'jerking off' was supposed to be a sex thing?"
"... Okay, how much do you know about sex?"
"What's complicated about it? A guy puts his… thing-"
"Dick."
"Into a woman's… thing-"
"Vagina. Kid, you can just say the words. We're in Hell."
"I'll keep that in mind." Ash said before he felt something at his ankle and looked down, seeing a small pig sniffing him. "Hello."
He reached down and started petting the pig who snorted in glee.
"Huh, even Fat Nuggets likes you. You're a real hit with animals." Angel says.
"Thanks." Ash says before the pig starts rubbing against his ankle. "He's friendly."
"Yeah, whenever I have a stressful time at work, it's nice to come back to see him." Angel says as the pig goes back to him. "If anything happened to him, you best bet I'm killin' someone."
"I mean… well I can't relate to the idea of killing, but I know if Pikachu was hurt or stolen or anything, I wouldn't let whoever did to him get away with it." The boy said while scratching his partner's chin.
"Well, maybe we do have something in common." Angel chuckled before Fat Nuggets scratched one of his boots. "And it's time for his walk. Gotta step out for a moment kiddo."
"Hey, gotta do what you gotta do."
"Maybe you could show me more of these… Poke… things whatever they're called."
"Pokemon."
"Right, that. See ya kid."
Angel took Fat Nuggets and walked out, leaving the boy to himself. He sighed as he leaned back while taking his hat off. As he and his Pokemon were about to relax, they heard the humming of an old-timey tune. They looked and found Alastor walking into the room, only stopping as Quilava went up to him and started sniffing him.
"Hmm, another strange creature." He says while bending down to meet the Pokemon's eyes. "And what can you do, little one?" He asked before Quilava showed off by creating fire from his head down his back. "Interesting."
"He can do a lot more. I could show you outside if you want." Ash offered.
"While I'd love to see that, I am here to talk to you." The man walked up to him.
"Me?"
"Yes. Do you mind if I have a bit of your time?"
"No, no trouble at all. Go ahead."
"Good. Ya see, out of all things, I had not expected a human such as yourself to be so eager to help out demons like this."
"I don't think anyone would-"
"But I know you're also contempt of surely protecting this place from, danger. Correct?" Alastor continued before leaning down to pet Quilava. "And surely with these creatures, you'll likely pull that off. Don't ya think?"
"I mean I guess, but there's more to them than just being powerful."
"Hmm… well, if that's the case, then surely you'll want to prove you can help protect the hotel without needing them?"
"... I-I don't understand where you're going with this."
"Haha, oh silly boy." Alastor says while patting him on the head before taking a seat beside him. "I only wish to help out as well. Perhaps we can help each other achieve that. That is if you wouldn't mind making a little… deal with me."
Ash got a little unnerved when hearing that. "What kind of deal exactly?"
"A small favor, if you wouldn't mind." Alastor chuckled before a small bit of fire formed in his hand. "You wouldn't mind, would you? If it meant helping keep your friends safe, right?"
Pikachu had the same look of uneasiness that his trainer had. Ash started at the man's hand before looking up at his face which seemed to have a permanent smile no matter what. As if that wasn't creepy enough, he couldn't shake off the freaky presence he was giving off, not to mention the look in his burning red eyes. It gave the boy an unnerving feeling that he couldn't shake off.
Then he saw out of the corner of his eye that Charlie and Vaggie were just entering the lobby, Vaggie in particular being a little slow thanks to her injury. They were talking about something before Ash heard a cracking noise. He looked up and saw the chandelier slightly shaking. He looked back down to see them just below it, as he heard another crack and realized what was going to happen.
"Get out of the way!" He yelled while jumping from the couch and running over to them.
Before they could react, the ceiling gave out. Ash jumped and tackled them out of the way just as the chandelier hit the ground. He groaned in a bit of pain before looking back at the chandelier which was in pieces and sighed in relief. The girls were startled but quickly registered what just happened and that their savior was still over them before he got up.
"That was way too close. Are you two okay?" He asked while offering his hands.
Charlie smiled before taking it while Vaggie did so, only more shyly. Pikachu ran up to his trainer to make sure he was alright while Alastor watched still smiling.
"Perhaps some other time." He says before getting up and off to do his own thing.
