Once the waitress had placed their orders right in front of them, Joey couldn't help but lick his lips. As he was getting ready to munch down and eat his food, he looked up to realize that Kai was actually watching him. He giggled a little at her.
"Sorry, I get so excited when I see food.", he said to her with a small smile across on his face.
.Kai responded by shrugging her shoulders. She sat and picked up her fork to eat her order. There was silence between the both of them as Kai was focused on eating her food. While she was eating, she looked up to smile at Joey.
"Foods good." ,she said to him.
Joey smiled back.
"I feel the same way.",he said to her.
"I really enjoyed tonight, Joey.",said Kai.
Hearing that made Joey's eyes perk up! This is the first time he heard someone say that to him in a while!,Joey looks over at Kai as he was unsure on what to say
"Uh thank you.",he said
He and Kai then made eye contact to one another. The silence had filled the room .Joey got up
"I got to go.", he started to walk away.
He walked out the front of the door of the diner.
Kai watched, wondering what is up with him?
