Hi everyone. Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving to those who celebrate it. I mentioned before that in Emperor of Darkness, that I had ignored a certain episode involving a copycat duelist. This was intentional. Originally, I was going to include it, but before I could start working on it, i was struck with inspiration and decided not to.
Here is that promised chapter...and I will say this...its a doozy of a twist!
The next few days were a buzz of activity at Central. Why? It had been announced two months ago that the King of Games dueling deck was going on a world tour. While the King himself was unable to give a comment, Kaiba stated that the last place it would reach would be Central itself. This was what had everyone excited.
The King of Games deck, on display for the students to see. Tickets went fast, REAL fast. The SoL tried to get ALL the tickets, but Midori put a hard stop to that, holding a micro-tourney for them. The SoL didn't take part, Sartorius somehow acquiring tickets for them to look.
Jaden walked down the halls, looking at his new Vile Heroes, trying to think of ways to incorporate them into his Evil HERO deck. He stopped when he heard a voice.
"Come on, you gotta let me in! I can be a great help to you all!"
Looking up, Jaden saw the speaker of the voice. The voice belonged to a boy who spiky hair, two toned much like Jaden's own. The outer edges were a burnt orange with the main body was a brown color. Also similar to the king of games, the boy had similar, but three smaller bangs that fall over his face. The jacket flared out from the waist with beige pants and the Yellow shoes of Ra Yellow.
Jaden racked his mind for a name to the boy, snapping his fingers.
Dmitri! That was the boy's name. He had been one of the few Ra Yellows who had mocked the King last year and thus was scorned when it came out who Jaden was. The boy always wanted to be popular and tried to replicate others decks making him a Copycat duelist.
The boy was talking to several members of the SoL, all who had disgusted looks on their faces.
"I doubt that you'd be that much of a help. Master Sartorius wants SERIOUS duelists. Not mere copycats."
"But I can be serious!" Dmitri protested, making the group shake their heads.
"Do something to earn Master Sartorius praise and then we'll talk." One of the members said, turning around.
One by one, the rest of the SoL members walked away, leaving Dmitri to watch their backs. Jaden was about to console the boy when he stormed off. Jaden frowned; while the boy had been snobbish, he wasn't about to let the boy go and do something he'll regret later on. Chasing after Dmitri, he caught up to the boy.
"Dmitri."
Dmitri spun around, seeing the King. The Ra's face morphed into an ugly scowl.
"What the fuck do you want?! Bad enough you chewed me out last year when I groveled before you to get into that elite study group!"
"You didn't grovel, you kicked in my door and demanded to be let in because you were a Ra Yellow, therefore, you were better then the 'Slifer Slimes'." Jaden snapped back.
Dmitri's face got uglier, looking ready to jump at the King.
"Just get the fuck out. I would be on top if it wasn't for you!" Dmitri snarled, storming away.
Yubel showed up, looking at Jaden with a disapproving stare. Jaden winced, pinching his nose.
"I know, I know...I gotta work on that."
"Let's just hope that Dmitri doesn't do something too drastic..."

As night came, Dmitri was in his room in Yellow, muttering to himself. All he wanted to be was popular and the SoL had Aster Phoenix in it. Aster! The one guy who rose through the ranks of the Circuit and nearly toppled the King of the Ring...until that stupid challenge! Dmitri snarled.
"Jaden Yuki..."
Dmitri hated Jaden for two reasons; the first was rejecting him from that Elite Study group that the King had started. The second reason was because of how popular the King was BEFORE his reveal. That was what drove Dmitri. To be popular to his peers. But each of his attempts rendered in failure.
"Crowler, Kaibas or even Jaden's deck! It doesn't matter who I copy, I can't get the SoL to notice me!" Dmitri snarled.
Dmitri had been off the island for a family emergency when the attack on the Yellow Dorm happened. When he returned, he saw the SoL as a popular club that was exclusive. He wanted to be in that club, to be popular! He had begged, pleaded, even tried to duel his way in.
All met with failure.
"How am I gonna impress this Sartorius guy when my decks are garbage!?" Dmitri roared, clearing his desk in a rage.
A single poster bearing Yugi Muto with a First Gen duel disk and his deck landed back on the desk, Dmitri looking at it for several minutes.
Suddenly, an idea struck him.
"I know...I give him the deck of the most powerful duelist in the world!" Dmitri said, a demented grin on his face.

Crowler and Fonda were talking to a pair of Central Guards. It was nearing midnight, Fonda and Crowler taking over guarding the Deck. Crowler had raised some concerns about the SoL attempting to take the Deck something Midori had agreed with and ordered round the clock protection details. Once the guards gave the keys to the pair, they began their patrol.
"Good call pointing out the SoL attempting something, Crowler."
"Quite. Ever since that cult showed up, its gotten crazier. I'm just grateful that not all of the students are part of that madness." Crowler said, making Fonda nod.
"And the chance to actually USE the King of Games deck is far too tempting to pass up too."
"That as well!"
The pair made their rounds and when they came back to the door the exhibit was located in, they heard the smashing of glass. Eyes widening, they hurried inside to see the display case smashed, the glass on the ground. Inside...the deck was gone.
"Shit!" Both teachers shouted, quickly calling Midori and the rest.

Midori needed a couple of headache pills right now. She had just been alerted by Fonda and Vellian that the deck of the King of Games, THE DECK OF THE KING OF GAMES, had been STOLEN. Cameras were useless, something Bastion had found out. They had been looped with feed from the guard change. While everyone had a strong suspicion it was the SoL, they couldn't make any kind of accusations without proof.
"The perp managed to keep their fingerprints off of the glass..." The head of the DAS stated, frowning as she gave the report.
"Damn it...meaning it could even be an outsider." Midori groaned. "Contact Kaiba, let him know."
"Yes, Ma'am!"
Midori prayed that the deck was NOT in the hands of the SoL.

Sartorius heard a commotion happening out in the main lobby of the Obelisk White Dorm. Standing up from his grand piano, he walked out and down the steps. As he descended, he saw a boy in a yellow uniform talking with Aster.
"Please, I can prove myself to you all that I belong in the Light!" The boy shouted.
"Yeah right. Everyone told me how you're a Copycat duelist. You're not gonna prove yourself anytime soon, buddy so just walk away." Aster said, slightly nodding his head.
"BUT I HAVE SOMETHING TO GIVE TO HIM!" The boy screamed, holding out a deck of cards as he was grabbed.
Sartorius sensed it. An immense power was in that deck! Hurrying down, Sartorius stopped the pair of muscled boys from dragging the boy off.
"Master?" Aster asked, standing before the boy, staring at the deck.
"Child...what is your name?" Sartorius asked, ignoring Aster.
"D-dmitri, sir." Dmitri said, the deck still out.
"Dmitri, tell me...where did you get this deck and why are you here?"
"To prove myself to you! To the Light! I've always been in the shadows of others, Jaden, Bastion, even SYRUS who scored the worst test scores in the Entry Exams! I no longer want to be there! I felt that the Light was what I needed...but...I was told I needed to prove myself...so...I have." Dmitri said, a smile on his face, holding out the deck.
"I present you...the deck of the King of Games!"
Gasps and cries of shock echoed through the Dorm. Yugi Muto's deck!? Dmitri had stolen it?! Sartorius took the deck and smiled wickedly as he leafed through it.
"Dmitri speaks the truth!" Sartorius said, turning to face his flock.
Everyone began to speak in excited tones. Dmitri smiling widely, the man turning back.
"Dmitri, this is a gift for grander then you can imagine. Now...open yourself to the Light."
Dmitri felt a soothing warmth enter him, Sartorius glowing brightly. Within a few minutes, Dmitri stared, his hair completely white. He bowed low, weeping in joy.
"I see...I see it now! Thank you, Master!"
"Go...assemble your deck...your TRUE deck!"
Dmitri nodded, getting up and meeting with several SoL members. Aster looked at the boy in shock then at his master.
"Okay...I stand corrected on that kid. He'll be a perfect addition to the Society." Aster said, smiling.
"Quite...this...this is the edge we need on the Empire of Darkness." Sartorius said, a white glow appearing around the Deck.
HOLY SHIT! I told you it was a doozy of a twist! This would have made season two even more epic if they had held off the deck showcase until then. Hope you enjoyed!
