R&R Longer note at the end

The dirty blonde haired girl sighed as she continued her duties around the shrine, she leaned against her broom as she looked up towards the clear blue sky the only thing she wished for right now was to be off with her sisters training so she didn't fall behind.

With one last sigh she continued sweeping the main entrance, afterwards she would wipe down the donations box then she would be done finally free to join her sisters and enjoy herself. As she swept her mind began to wonder, she thought about the past few days it was not uncommon to have visitors at the shrine making donations and offering their prayers to the gods but one thing had stuck out to her recently.

A dark brown haired girl around her age had visited every day at the same time, after the usual morning rush of people going to work offering their prayers to the gods for a safe travel and clear skies one girl had always appeared. Hanabi had never understood why they had chosen that particular time, that one moment to appear as she swept she couldn't help thinking she could hear a voice calling out to her.

"Hello? Hanabi? Are you in there?" the blonde blinked as she snapped out of her thoughts seeing the dark brown haired girl smiling at her causing her to jump slightly tripping over the long skirt of her shrine maiden uniform she fell backwards with a thud.

"Ouch" the girl said rubbing her lower back the broom lying next to her as the other girl offered her a hand with a concerned look on her face as Hanabi reached forward grabbing it with a smile as she got to her feet "Thank you, I was miles away".

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you. You're not hurt right?" Asuka asked helping to brush some dirt off the girl's outfit "Here, let me get the broom for you". Leaning down she picked up the broom handing it back with a smile, Hanabi took it smiling back as a single thought floated through her head.

Right on time, just like clockwork.

"So what brings you here today?" Hanabi asked as she sat down on one of the concreate benches that lined the main path joined by the dark haired girl who smiled almost like she was considering her answer before she spoke.

"The usual I suppose" she said with a chuckle "Make my donation and my prayer, who knows maybe today will be the day it finally comes true". Hanabi watched the Asuka's hazel eyes turn to the donation box before resting on the sky, every day had been the same response and the same actions however today felt different to the blonde a different feeling in the air.

She had always thought the same when she had seen the girl, there was something different about her despite her beautiful features she always gave off the impression something was troubling her with a smile Hanabi reached over placing a warm hand on the girl's shoulder with a smile.

"I have no doubt the gods will be able to support you" Hanabi said as Asuka looked over smiling back "They always do, sometimes it just takes a bit of time for their help to manifest". Asuka nodded as the shrine maiden removed her hand she got to her feet with a renewed sense of confidence, making her way to the donation box she tossed in the usual amount and rang the bell three times before clapping her hands going into silent prayer.

Hanabi stood watching the girl, the same ritual, the same moment of peaceful silence however something today was different as a slight breeze seemed to pass between them. Thinking nothing of it Hanabi stood silent as Asuka lowered her hands smiling looking to the stone monument of the fox god she nodded turning on her heel as she headed for the steps down.

"I hope today you were able to have you prayer answered" Hanabi said as she bowed slightly to the other girl "I guess I'll see you tom-" The rest of the girls sentence was cut off abruptly as a soft feeling pressed itself against her own lips, she closed her eyes for a moment losing herself in the unexpected but not unwelcome feeling.

After a few moments it disappeared as the maiden came to her senses once more her eyes snapped open seeing the rather red face of Asuka, Hanabi felt her own face begin to heat up as realisation began to set in on what had just happened.

"I guess my prayer was answered" Asuka said with a nervous giggle "It wasn't just the gods that made me visit, it was you as well the cute smile and warm aura. I just needed a little courage from the gods to let you know is all".

"I-I-I don't know what to" Hanabi stammered as the dark brown haired girl moved close again the two locked eyes as a smile crossed over both their faces, slowly Hanabi moved closer pressing her lips to others once more wanting to feel that loving sensation once more.

Full disclosure, this is the chapter that kept the upload of Daidōji's turn delayed because I literally had no idea how I wanted this to go. Ideas I was coming up with didn't fit or didn't seem right then this came to me and I went with it and I hope it turned out pretty well

I love Hanabi but she is a tough one to write for at times since she isn't featured much in the anime and the games don't always showcase personality well its hard to gauge how she would react in certain situations but that just brings out the writer in me to accept the challenge and face it head on
