Prologue Part 4

"I'm so glad that I found you all," the purple haired boy said with a bright smile. "It's great to know I'm not alone in this place."

"Nooooooo!" Tenko cried out. "Why did you have to die too?!"

"Aw," the boy placed his hands over his heart. "You wanted me to live, Tenko? That's so sweet."

"No, I mean I wanted you to live…wait, no I wanted…I" Tenko stumbled over her words. "Sh-shut up!"

Kaito sighed a bit before rising from his seat to face the purple haired boy. "Kokichi," he said sternly.

The boy looked at Kaito and immediately groaned. "Great. You died, Kaito?" he asked with an angry expression on his face. "Don't you know how long I planned out my final victory over Monokuma?"

Kaito could only smile at the question. "Sorry, but doing things your way wasn't something I was too thrilled about."

The boy rolled his eyes. "I should have figured. You were always too boring and honorable to get real work done." The boy turned his attention back to the rest of the group. "Now that I'm paying attention, I haven't met the rest of you before."

Gundham had his arms crossed as he leered at the small boy. "I can sense a dark aura around you," he said in his usual cold tone. "Speak your name, small one!"

"Hmmm?" the boy tilted his head to the side as he faced Gundham. "You want to know my name? Fair enough. It only makes sense that I introduce myself to you all. My name is Gonta Gokuhara! The Ultimate Astronaut!"

There was an awkward period of silence following the announcement. Those that did know the boy gave differing levels of annoyed groans and eye rolls while the rest just had raised eyebrows.

Gonta frowned and spoke up. "Kokichi not Gonta. Gonta is Gonta."

"And isn't Mr. Momota the Ultimate Astronaut?" Hifumi asked.

"You should all ignore him," Kaede spoke up as she returned to the group. "Kokichi is a compulsive liar. It's all he does."

Kokichi frowned at Kaede. "Aww. How could you say such a thing about me, Kaede? And after I said I missed you when you died." Kokichi immediately returned to a blank expression. "Well, whatever. Shuichi was more fun to mess with anyway."

Kaede gritted her teeth a bit but didn't retaliate. She wanted to punch him in the face for that comment, but she knew responding to him would only drag out the annoyance.

Sayaka stood up to face the boy. "Why don't you tell us who you really are? It would help if we knew who you were."

The boy finally turned his attention to Sayaka, one of the people he wasn't familiar with. "Oh, you guys really do hate having fun, don't you?"

Sayaka frowned a bit. "It's not that we hate fun," she said. "It's just that this situation…we should be taking it seriously."

The boy thought over Sayaka's words for a moment before smirking a bit. "Well, I guess you're right. It would help if you knew who I was. My name is Kokichi Oma! The Ultimate Supreme Leader!"

Kokichi Oma: Ultimate Supreme Leader

"The Ultimate Supreme Leader?" Nagito repeated with a puzzled look across his face. "I don't think I've heard of a talent like that before."

"That's because it's another lie!" Kaede said.

"Is it, Kaede?" Kokichi asked with a smirk. "Or was the part where I said it was a lie the lie?"

Gonta frowned and rubbed the sides of his head. "Gonta's head hurt."

"Oh, so he's just annoying then," Leon said. "Ok. I think I get it."

Kokichi glared daggers into Leon's eyes. "You don't get anything, punk." Kokichi then suddenly switched back to a cheerful smile. "Hahaha. Just kidding!"

Leon could only gulp at the terrifying boy.

Soon, Taka and his group returned from the cafeteria with the newly discovered students. "Greetings, compatriots!" Taka smiled at the rest of the group. "We have returned with new friends!"

"Who's this kid?" Nekomaru asked.

Kaito sighed and held his hand out. "That is Kokichi. Compulsive liar and wrecker of crime scenes."

Nekomaru's eyes widened in terror. "Oh no! He's another Nagito?!"

"Why are you all ganging up on me?" Kokichi's lips quivered before he burst into tears. "AND I WAS ABOUT TO TELL YOU WERE THE OTHERS WERE!"

Hifumi raised an eyebrow. "You found more people?" he asked.

Kokichi returned back to a bored expression. "Maybe I have. Maybe I haven't. Why don't you all guess?"

"Oh, don't start that shit right now," Miu snapped. "Just tell us the truth!"

Kokichi growned and rolled his eyes. "Fine, I'll tell the truth. I haven't seen anyone since I woke up."

"Aw come on, man," Leon whined out.

"Are you serious?" Tenko joined in.

"It's a lie," Celestia said with a confident smile.

All of the students from the Ultimate Academy stopped and stared at Celestia. They couldn't believe she could make such a claim so boldly. Even Kokichi himself seemed puzzled by the goth girl's confidence. Puzzled, yet intrigued.

"Oh?" Kokichi faced the goth. "What makes you so sure about that?"

Celestia neatly folded her hands onto the table as she smiled at Kokichi. "Every time you lie, your voice rises up," she explained. "Possibly a sign of nervousness, although it may just be that your lie was too simple and obvious altogether."

Not only was Kokichi caught on his lie, but his lying ability was outright insulted by this woman. For once in Kokichi's life, there was no joy, intrigue, not even confusion. There was only anger. He actually began to grind his teeth together.

Tenko on the other hand was ecstatic by this revelation. "FINALLY!" she cheered out loud. "We got a Kokichi counter! Thank you so much, Celestia!"

Celestia giggled lightly. "Please. Call me, Celeste."

"Well, thanks Celeste," Kaito said with a smile. "This is certainly going to make him less of a problem."

"OH OH!" Ibuki rose her hand up. "Ibuki wants to try. Guess if Ibuki is lying or not!"

"Enough chitter chatter!" Taka proclaimed. "We have all gathered here for discussion on our situation! We have gathered plenty of students, so I think now is the right time to ask; is this everyone?"

All of the students looked towards each other. While Taka's question was valid, it wasn't without its share of problems. Mainly that they had no clue who all had died in their killing games. For all they knew, everyone could have died and not even end up there. Sure, that would break the obvious pattern between them all, but it was still a possibility.

Kaede finally turned to face Taka and break the silence. "Wouldn't make sense if the last ones to have died to answer that?" she asked.

"An excellent suggestion, Akamatsu," Taka said. "Now, who were the last ones to…perish in each game?"

"I was the latest to perish in my game," Celestia admitted. "At least as far as I know. And unless there are more after me, there are only two we haven't found yet."

Both Mondo and Taka became uncomfortable when Celeste explained herself.

"F-Fujisaki and Enoshima, right?" Hifumi asked the obvious question.

Chihiro's name was enough to take Sayaka and Leon by surprise. Who would kill the timid programmer and why? She didn't seem like she could even hurt a fly.

Nagito spoke up to break the tension. "And as far as I know, I was the last person to die in my game as well. Those that died but haven't been found yet are Byakuya, Mahiru, Peko, Hiyoko, and hopefully the person that killed me."

Mondo snapped out of his state of guilt by the sound of one of the names. "Wait, that Togami prick was with you guys?"

"Yeah, yeah!" Ibuki said. "Big ol' Byakuya was our team leader until he died!"

"But wasn't Togami in our game?" Leon asked.

"Does that mean he survived our game, only to die later?" Sayaka added to the question train.

"This at least lays out a timeline for our games," Taka said.

"I feel we will only discover the answers to these questions if we meet him again," Gundham stated. "In the meantime, we should hear what the final victims have to say before we make our next move."

"Of course, Tanaka!" Ishimaru said before turning to Kaito. "Momota! Who was the last to die in your group?"

"Me actually," Kaito said. "And the only ones that are missing are Rantaro, Kirumi, and Angie."

"So that's nine people left," Tenko said.

"And possibly more," Ryoma said.

"No!" Tenko snapped. "If there are more people then that means that there's a chance Himiko died as well! And I refuse to accept that!"

"You're going to die," Celestia said.

Tenko's skin crawled as Celeste's chilling words reached her and her devilish red eyes pierced her soul. "Wh-what?"

"If you aren't ready to face the realities of this situation, you're not likely to survive," Celeste explained.

Tenko couldn't help but feel like she had been threatened by the gambler. She wasn't sure what to do next. Luckily, or unluckily for Tenko, Taka was there to put the subject back on track.

"Well, Miss Ludenberg, I think we are getting off topic," Taka said. "I think it would be best for us to split up as we continue our search!"

"I call being in a group with Sayaka!" Tenko shot her hand up into the air.

Despite already knowing how Tenko acted at this point, Sayaka couldn't help but be a bit surprised by how eager she was to hang out with her. 'Maybe she's a bit too clingy,' Sayaka thought to herself. 'I wonder if Himiko had to deal with that.'

"But how are we supposed to split up?" Leon asked. "I mean, most of us kind of hate each other."

"It's simple actually, Kuwata!" Taka said. "Momota and I will draw names from a hat, and whoever we draw will be in our group."

"And where are we supposed to get a hat?" Leon asked.

"I have one," Ryoma said. "I guess you could borrow it for a bit." Ryoma then took off his pointed cap revealing his slicked back hair before handing it over to Taka.

"Thank you very much, Hoshi!" Taka said with a polite smile. "Now, to write down the names and shuffle them!"

"Oh, I have a pen and some paper for that," Hifumi said before opening up his backpack, taking out a notebook, and writing down everyone's names. He paused for a moment before smirking a bit. "If this was Death Note, you'd all be dead."

Miu grinded her teeth and sneered right at the nerd. "I swear to God I'll kick your dick back in if you say more dumb shit like that," she said.

Hifumi immediately shrank down in his seat. "I-It was just a joke."

"Enough dilly dallying!" Taka said as he took the pieces of paper and set them in Ryoma's hat. "We must begin with the team sorting!"

And that they did. Taka and Kaito took turns drawing names from the hat and calling those they picked to line up next to them. For Taka, he drew Mondo, Kaede, Leon, Miu, Nagito, Hifumi, Korekiyo, and Gundham. Kaito drew Tenko, Kokichi, Sayaka, Ryoma, Gonta, Ibuki, Mikan, Celestia, and Teruteru. It wasn't particularly even, but that didn't matter. It was close enough to keep everyone together in case anyone went missing as well as keeping any eye on the more mischievous people like Kokichi and Nagito. Obviously, Tenko was furious to be in a group with Kokichi and Teruteru but being with Sayaka and other girls was enough to keep her from snapping.

Once the groups were decided, they exited the cafeteria and properly slit up. Taka's group went off the uncharted east wing of the building while Kaito's group headed back to the west wing to see if they missed anything.

While Kaito's group went to explore, Tenko circled around Sayaka and held her hands up at all the guys surrounding them. Sayaka threw up a polite smile as she spoke to her, "Um, I don't think there's any reason to do that right now."

"Nonsense," Tenko responded. "As long as these degenerates are around, I must keep my guard up! For your sake and all of the girls here!"

Kaito sighed a bit. "Come on, Tenko. Really, outside of Kokichi and Korekiyo most of the guys here seem fine to me."

"I'm not terrible," Kokichi said before grabbing a hold of Tenko's hand. "I'm just misunderstood. I just want my friend Tenko to understand me."

Tenko could feel several veins grow across her face the moment that degenerate touched her hand. In a flash, her anger ignited a flame inside her that caused her to grab his wrist and hip toss him to the ground. Kokichi let out a groan upon impact and then another one when Tenko jabbed her knee into his arm.

"You touch me again and I'll break your arm off!" Tenko shouted down at the boy.

Kokichi fought through his pain to give Tenko a mischievous grin. "I'd like to see you try," he said.

All while this was happening, Teruteru had stayed in the far back of them group because, well, exactly what you'd expect from a pervert like him. Due to his short height, he got a good view of everyone's rears. However, he became more excited when Tenko bent over to hip toss Kokichi. "Hmmm, purple undies," Teruteru said with a sly grin. "Kind of unexpected, but fitting."

"What was that?!" Tenko shouted back at Teruteru.

"Nothing," Teruteru sang innocently. 'Besides,' he thought to himself, 'I'm more interested in what I cannot see right away.' He eyed up Celeste's dress, noting how it covered most of her legs.

Sayaka grabbed a hold of Tenko's arm. "Maybe you can let go of him now?" she asked. "I mean, why don't you go protect Mikan?"

Tenko looked up at Sayaka. She looked like she was about to cry. "You don't want me to protect you?" she asked.

"It's not that," Sayaka said. "It's just that she has fallen down to the ground about five times now. She might need someone to help her walk."

Tenko looked behind Sayaka to see that Mikan had fallen to the ground and landed face first into the floor with her rear up in the air. Tenko was no longer about to cry. Instead, she had become determined to protect another girl from the dreaded male gaze. She dashed over to the poor nurse and helped her up. "Don't worry, Mikan!" Tenko said with a smile. "I'll protect you from these degenerates!"

"Th-thank you," Mikan cried. "I-I'm sorry!"

'Well, that will keep her occupied for a bit,' Sayaka thought to herself. 'Now, I can properly focus on investigating this place.'

Celestia couldn't help but sigh a bit to herself. "I was hoping this group would take this situation seriously," she commented. "How unfortunate."

Ibuki popped over to Celestia's side with a bright smile on her face. "Don't be like that, Celeste!" Ibuki said. "We can have fun while being serious!"

"And how exactly do you expect me to believe that when everyone is more interested in fighting?" Celeste asked, not even attempting to hide her annoyance.

"Simple, we play the wander game!" Ibuki said.

"The wander game?" Kaito raised an eyebrow. "What is that?"

"It's one of Ibuki's favorite games!" Ibuki answered. "It involves me wandering around and making turns I normally never take. I get lost a lot when I do it. One time I played it I almost stumbled onto a boat and got lost at sea!"

"That's terrifying," Sayaka said. "You want us to just walk without even thinking?"

"Gonta don't think that very safe," Gonta said plainly.

"And aren't we wandering around aimlessly already?" Kaito asked.

"Yep, yep, yep!" Ibuki said with a smile. "But you have to do it the Ibuki way. I'm going to close my eyes and tur-"

Ibuki turned and immediately ran into a door. She groaned and grabbed her nose as she stepped away from the door. She looked up and saw a sign hung above the door.

Lobby.

Ibuki proudly smiled and put her hands on her hips with her nose looking almost longer. "Hehehe. Four hes. Looks like the Ibuki way worked out after all."

Kaito looked up at the Lobby sign. "How did we even miss this?"

"We were probably too distracted by everything else," Ryoma said.

"Whatever the case, we should hurry up and see if anyone's in there," Kaito said before kicking open the door.

The lobby was just as rundown as the rest of the building they were in. More weeds growing out of the cracks in the floor and walls, more mold, and more trash on the ground. Inside the room were five different people they haven't met before. Well, at least in this environment. There was a young-looking blonde girl, possibly around 10 years old, dressed in a kimono that was cheerfully stomping her foot onto the ground. There was a blue haired girl in glasses that was rocking back and forth in a fetal position in the corner. There was also a tiny brunette girl with a green jacket and brown skirt talking to a silver haired girl in a dark maid outfit. Finally, in the center of the room was a large man in a white suit and glasses.

The man in glasses turned his head to face the entrance of the room and see Kaito and rest of the group. "I take it you are also victims of a previous killing game?" he asked.

"Yeah," Kaito said as he led his group inside the lobby. "We've been searching for others in this place."

"A solid idea," the large man said. "However, I'm not sure if I can trust you yet. Who are you?"

Kaito smirked and aimed his thumb at himself. "The name's Kaito Momota! I'm the Ultimate Astronaut!"

The large man adjusted his glasses and cross his arms. "My name is Byakuya Togami," he said. "The Ultimate Affluent Progeny."

Byakuya Togami: Ultimate Affluent Progeny

Sayaka knew it was wrong but seeing a major jerk like Togami now in a less than healthy body shape made her want to burst out laughing. However, she bit the inside of her mouth and kept herself under control and focused on what was important. To gain that much weight would probably mean a lot of time has passed since their killing game. She'd have to ask him about what happened to everyone later. After all, they can only focus on so much at a single moment.

"Togami!" Ibuki dashed over to the blonde man with a bright smile on her face. "I missed you! I thought I wouldn't get to poke your belly again!"

Byakuya sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. "Hello, Ibuki," he said before looking at the tiny chef. "Teruteru."

Teruteru finally broke away from his pervy persona and looked in terror at the large man. He couldn't get a word out from his throat. Instead, only some coughing and gasping came out.

Luckily, it wasn't time for interrogation. Byakuya looked back at Kaito. "Since you're with some of my classmates, I feel it's safe to trust you. I assume some of these people were your classmates as well?"

"Yeah," Kaito said. "And some new faces as well."

The silver haired girl ended her conversation with the brunette to approach the group. "Greetings everyone," she spoke in a polite and soft voice. "My name is Kirumi Tojo, the Ultimate Maid. Ask anything of me and I promise I will accomplish it to the best of my abilities."

Kirumi Tojo: Ultimate Maid

Teruteru had snapped over of his frightened state to eye up the maid. "Anything, huh? Well then, how about we- ACK!"

Tenko immediately wrapped her arm around his neck and twisted his arm. "Keep your mouth shut, degenerate!" she shouted at him.

"Teruteru not a gentleman at all!" Gonta said with a pout.

"HAHAHA!" Ibuki laughed. "She's turning into you into a human pretzel, Teruteru!"

"Uncle, uncle!" Teruteru shouted.

Sayaka felt another bead of sweat go down the side of her face. "Sorry about this, Kirumi," she said to the maid. "They're an…interesting group."

"I am familiar with Tenko, so it's fine," Kirumi said with a smile.

"Hello there, mom," Kokichi said with a smile.

Kirumi sighed and dropped her smile. "I'm also quite familiar with Kokichi…They can be troublesome, but I can handle them."

"I am quite interested in all of your skills, Kirumi," Celeste said with a smile. "If you ever wish to work for someone less troublesome in this place, I'll be glad to hire your services."

Kirumi smiled and bowed her head to Celeste. "I would be happy to."

Mikan finally decided it was time to grow a backbone again and introduce herself to another student. She scanned the other three students and deliberately made sure to avoid the blonde. She dragged her feet over to the brunette girl and lightly tapped her shoulder.

The brunette turned to face Mikan. "Oh, hello," she said. "I'm sorry I didn't notice you earlier."

"S-s-sorry to disturb you," Mikan forced the words out of her mouth. "I-I just thought I could introduce myself to you."

"O-of course you can," she responded with a sympathetic look on her face. "I'm sorry you thought you would be disturbing me. I was honestly worried I would be bothering you."

"My name is Mikan Tsumiki. Wh-what's your name?"

"My name is Chihiro Fujisaki," she smiled lightly. "I'm the Ultimate Programmer."

Chihiro Fujisaki: Ultimate Programmer

Mikan giggled a bit at the small girl. "Y-you're really cute to be a programmer," she said.

"H-huh?" Chihiro's face turned red before fidgeting with her fingers. "Y-you really mean that?"

Mikan let out a gasp. "I-I'm sorry!" she cried out. "I was complimenting you and now you're upset with me!"

Chihiro shook her head. "N-no. I'm not mad. I was just surprised that you said that. I'm sorry."

"S-sorry."

"Sorry."

Sayaka broke away from the conversations with Byakuya and Kirumi to approach the blonde girl. She knelt down next to her and smiled brightly. "Hello there," she said. "I'm Sayaka Maizono. Can you tell me your name?"

The blonde girl was twisting her foot on the ground when she looked at Sayaka. "Hey, don't talk to me like I'm some kid, ok?!" she snapped.

Sayaka was honestly taken aback by the girl's attitude. "But…you look like-"

"Well, I'm not!" the blonde snapped once again. "I'm 13 and when I grow up I'm certainly going to look better than plastic doll like you!"

'This bitch is asking to be slapped,' Sayaka thought to herself. Despite how vile she came across, she still needed to know her name. So, Sayaka kept a friendly face up. "Um…can you at least tell me your name?"

The blonde girl huffed and pointed to herself. "My name is Hiyoko Saionji," she said with a bit of aggression in her voice. "I'm the Ultimate Traditional Dancer. Now go away!"

Hiyoko Saionji: Ultimate Traditional Dancer

'I'm usually very nice to kids, but she's begging to get hit,' Sayaka thought to herself again. She shook her head a bit. She wasn't quite sure where those dark thoughts came from, but she couldn't help but agree with it somewhat. What happened to make this sweet looking girl be such a rude person. She sighed and granted the girl's wish by backing away.

'Maybe the bluenette will be nicer,' Sayaka thought. 'Sure, she's rocking back and forth in a corner, but that's honestly not too unreasonable considering what we all went through. Maybe her death was painful like Nagito.'

She made her way over to the other blue haired girl and knelt down next to her. "Hey. Are you ok?"

The blue haired girl immediately let out a loud cry. "THIS CAN'T BE REAL! THIS ISN'T REAL!"

Sayaka scooted back a bit and rubbed her ears a bit, hoping that would get rid of the ringing.

Byakuya stepped over to Sayaka's side. "She's been like ever since we found her," he said. "She's barely said an actual sentence let allow a single word."

"Really?" Sayaka asked. "She must be traumatized."

"Tsumugi!" Gonta shouted as he dashed over to her side. "Tsumugi? Are you ok?"

The blue haired girl finally stopped crying and looked up at the gentle giant. "Gonta?"

"Yes," Gonta smiled. "It's Gonta. We're here to help!"

"Was she in your game, Gonta?" Sayaka asked.

Gonta nodded. "Tsumugi real nice, but she's sad. Please, help her."

"Ok," Sayaka said before turning to Tsumugi. "Tsumugi? Are you ok?"

"N-not really," she said.

"Well…is it ok if you introduce yourself?" Sayaka asked.

"Um…ok. My full name is Tsumugi Shirogane…" she muttered. "I'm the Ultimate Cosplayer."

Tsumugi Shirogane: Ultimate Cosplayer

"A cosplayer? That's pretty neat," Sayaka said.

"Yeah…it was," Tsumugi said before hanging her head back down.

Sayaka sighed. 'Maybe Mondo was right earlier,' she thought to herself. 'This group is a bit much. I just hope they find some saner people than we did.' She dragged herself back to the center of the room, already feeling drained from all the drama going on. Maybe drama was a bit too light of a word to describe it, but she knew that whatever it was it was driving her crazy.

"Hey, Sayaka! Are you ok?"

Sayaka turned around to see Tenko. "Oh, it's hard to say really," she said as she played with her hair.

"Oh, I'm sorry," Tenko said. "Maybe things will get better once we all regroup. It will be easier to ignore Kokichi then."

"It's not just Kokichi that's bothering me. It's…this whole thing. I keep feeling drained every time we find more people and a new room and…I just want to go home."

Tenko stopped as she watched her friend's eyes get watery. Out of impulse, she wrapped her arms around Sayaka and hugged her tightly. Sayaka gasped a bit and looked at Tenko, who gave her a sympathetic smile.

"We will get out of here!" she said confidently. "Once we find everyone, nothing's going to stop us from busting out of here!"

Sayaka didn't know how to react in this situation. Her friend's grip was tight, but her words were inspiring. She didn't know whether to break away or hug her back. "Do you really mean that?"

Tenko nodded. "And the degenerates can't think of something, I'll bust you out of here myself!"

Sayaka's eyes widened a bit. Those words were very familiar. She kept staring at Tenko even when she let go of her and began to exit the lobby with everyone else.

Finally got part 4 of this prologue done. Once again, I'm really dealing with the difficult side of having such a massive cast of characters. Trying to keep track of them all and giving them a fair share of dialogue and distinct personalities is very hard for a single man to do. But we're at least getting to the more oddball characters.

I know you nerds were super excited with Kokichi's introduction last time and I hope you like the way I write him so far. He's going to get into a lot of stuff later on. Trust me. Also, I KNEW I had to have this interaction with Celeste and him. Looks like the turn tables have turned in favor of the rest of the class...or have they?

Also, a sorry off between Chihiro and Mikan wasn't something I had done in the origin of this story, but the moment I got the idea I had to follow through with it. Hiyoko will probably be a bitch in this, and might be as fun as writing Kokichi. Who knows?

Sayaka is feeling drained, which was exactly how I felt finishing this. I want to get the prologue done just like how I believe you guys want it done, but we got to get to everyone in here.

Also, I hope the commentary on Twogami's weight isn't too offensive for some of you guys. I know how this fandom gets, so please know it's not meant to be ill will towards overweight people, just a jab at who they think is Togami.

As always, thank you for reading this. It makes me so happy to see so many people reading, reviewing, and liking my story. Please keep interacting with this and giving your thoughts on what I can improve upon.
