Chapter 02: Getting Erin Help and Kelly's fear!

Kelly and Casey had a good time at Molly's with Hermann and the others before heading out. 'That was fun,' Casey said with a smile as they walked to Kelly's mustang parked across the street.

'It was, now I just want to go home and get some sleep before we have to go back to work,' Kelly said, pulling out his keys.

'Yeah, it'll be a different day, same work,' Casey replied as he headed to the passenger side. Kelly chuckled and unlocked the door, but then a loud sound echoed through the night, making both men pause.

'Do you have the same feeling that something isn't right?' Kelly asked, looking at Casey, who nodded. 'Yeah, it sounded like a gunshot,' Casey said.

Kelly was looking around to find where that sound came from, but then a car's headlights caught his attention. He glanced at Casey, who looked worried too.

They decided to go check if anyone needed help. Kelly felt nervous as they approached the car. The car seemed familiar, and blue lights were flashing inside, indicating it was an unmarked car.

'Hey, can you hear us? Call out!' Casey yelled, and luckily, the rain had stopped. 'We're here to help, so shout if you can hear us,' Kelly shouted, hoping for a response.

Their hearts raced as they walked around the car, scanning for signs of anyone nearby. Casey tried to look inside the car through the window, but it was too dark to see anything.

Kelly was walking around the car when he saw a figure leaning on it, making his heart skip a beat. "Hey, you okay?" he asked.

Getting closer, the lieutenant's eyes widened and his heart sank as he realized it was Erin. "Erin?" he called out, a whirlwind of questions running through his mind.

Wondering what Erin was doing out in the storm, Kelly shook it off and crouched down as Casey joined them.

"Erin!" Kelly shouted above the wind, trying to get her attention. He exchanged worried glances with Casey before noticing Erin's hazel eyes opening slightly, but she seemed unfocused.

Kelly looked down to check for any injuries, his heart racing as he noticed bruises on her neck. To get a better look, Casey turned on his flashlight.

"Who the hell did this?" Kelly demanded as he looked at Erin, his hand resting on her stomach. He flinched when he felt something wet and sticky, quickly removing his hand to see what it was - it wasn't just water.

Kelly's eyes widened as he saw that his hand was covered in blood. He opened his mouth to say something, but Casey got his attention. "Kelly, I think Erin was raped," the lieutenant of truck 81 said.

"What?" Kelly asked, his heart leaping in his throat as he let his gaze lower the rest of the way down Erin's freezing body. His eyes widened as he saw that her jeans and underwear were down to her ankles, and his jaw clenched as he saw blood drenching her legs.

Kelly watched Casey get up and heard him call for an ambulance and Antonio. While his friend did that, he quickly placed his hand on Erin's stomach to stop the bleeding.

"Kelly?" When Erin softly called out his name, Kelly looked up and saw she was struggling to stay awake. "It's okay, Erin, everything's gonna be fine," he whispered, gently touching her cheek as she leaned into his hand.

Kelly was trying to stay calm for Erin, but deep down he was seething with anger towards whoever hurt her. "Hey, Er, don't shut your eyes," he whispered, adjusting Erin to make her more comfortable.

"Casey, where the is the god damn ambulance?" Kelly yelled in frustration over the rain, holding Erin's hand and applying pressure to her stomach with the other. He watched as Erin's eyes closed and her hand went limp in his.

"Erin, no, don't you dare!" Kelly shouted at her, feeling a sense of relief as he heard the sirens, signaling that the ambulance had arrived.

Kelly glanced from Erin to see Brett and Stella running over with Casey who led them there. 'How long she been like this?' Brett asked as he stepped in and ripped open Erin's shirt to see what's going on.

'We dunno, just found her like this,' Casey replied, looking at Brett, then turned around at the sound of Antonio's voice calling his name.

'Casey!' the intelligence second-in-command shouted as he made his way over to the lieutenant, leaving Kelly with Erin and Brett. Antonio eyed Casey, then Kelly, his breath catching as he saw Erin lying unconscious on the ground.

His gaze lingered on the brunette, jaw clenching when he noticed her jeans and underwear at her ankles. His mind raced with questions, but he knew he wouldn't get answers. He shifted his focus back to Casey, avoiding staring at his friend's battered body.

"Hey, what the hell happened?" Antonio asked Casey if he could talk to the lieutenant of truck 81 instead of Kelly, who might not be talking much.

"Kelly and I were just on our way to his car to go home for the night, and then we heard a gunshot," Casey explained, shaking his head. "We're not sure what went down or how long she's been here. We hurried over as soon as we heard the gunshot."

"We gotta get her to the hospital, now!" Brett demanded, trying to stop the bleeding with no success. Her blue eyes showed that whoever did this needed to pay.

Kelly assisted Brett in putting Erin on the stretcher. "I'm coming with you," Kelly stated firmly, making it clear it wasn't up for debate. "That's fine, let's move quickly," Brett agreed as they loaded Erin into the ambulance.

"We'll follow you guys," Antonio said as he hurried to his car, with Casey sending a text to the rest of the team to meet at the hospital.

Kelly sat in the ambulance, holding Erin's hand while Stella drove them to the med. 'Just hang in there, Erin,' he whispered as he watched Brett hook Erin up to monitors. 'Her heart rate is dropping,' Brett said, checking Erin's dangerously low vitals.

Kelly was too focused on Erin's bruised body and tightly holding her hand to pay attention to the details. He couldn't comprehend why someone would do this. Why would anyone rape and leave Erin to die?

The biggest question remained unanswered. 'Erin, don't give up,' Brett pleaded, as the monitors beeped loudly. Kelly's breath caught in his throat as he saw the monitor drop to zero. 'Kelly, do CPR now, we're losing her,' Brett demanded, putting a tube down Erin's throat and taking over the CPR.

Kelly was really worried as he watched the monitor. 'Come on Erin, don't do this please,' Kelly whispered. After 17 minutes, Brett managed to get Erin back, and they made it to the hospital just in time. Brett got out of the ambulance with Stella, and they rushed Erin into the hospital, ignoring Jay's non-stop questions.

'What do we have?' Rhodes asked as he hurried over to Brett, with April by his side looking concerned for Erin. 'Gunshot wound, and there might be broken ribs and bruises,' the blond said.

'We lost her for 17 minutes,' Brett informed Rhodes, making Kelly bite his lip as Erins team gasped.

'Let's get her back to surgery now,' Rhodes ordered as they took over, leaving Kelly and Brett in the waiting room with the others.
