A/N: Here's a pairing I never thought I'd write about, but here we are. Lol. Minor note, but in the universe of this fic, I've imagined Peter as single as I don't want to write him cheating on Mary Jane.
Spider-Man was not attracted to Lady Vermin. Certainly not. At least that's what he keeps telling himself; ever since that night a week ago. He remembered it like it was yesterday despite his best efforts not to do so.
He was out on a typical patrol swinging through the city when his Spider Sense went off one minute and the next he found himself letting go of his web line to dodge Lady Vermin flying right over him. He shot out another web line to the adjacent building and landed safely on a rooftop while Lady Vermin circled around him on her flying craft.
"Spider-Man, my beloved," she cooed, blowing a kiss towards him. "It is good to see you this night."
"Lady Vermin," Spidey acknowledged. "Where's the rest of the party? I still owe Sir Ram a knuckle sandwich for the whole 'use a circular saw to get a sample of my DNA' fiasco."
"The other Knights are out on their own patrols, not that I'm complaining. You and I are overdue for a private dance." And then Lady Vermin jumped from her craft straight at Spider-Man.
He jumped out of the way and fired his webbing at Lady Vermin, which she effortlessly dodged and launched a jump kick at Spider-Man hitting his chest. He let out a gasp as the kick sent him backwards to the floor. Lady Vermin leapt at him, but he kicked out his feet hitting Lady Vermin in her own chest and launched her over him. He got back to his feet and turned around as Lady Vermin was already coming at him again throwing out several strikes. Spider-Man dodged each of them and punched Lady Vermin knocking her down, but she swept out her leg kicking Spider-Man's feet out from under him. He collapsed to the floor, but was able to get up in time to jump out of Lady Vermin's way as she leapt at him again.
The rushed one another simultaneously and threw out their hands, which smashed and interlocked with one another. They pressed against one another's palms in hopes of getting the upper hand, but they were practically deadlocked. That is until Lady Vermin deliberately fell back.
"Whoa!" Spider-Man shouted in surprise as he fell with her, allowing Lady Vermin to kick Spider-Man in his stomach. He gave out a groan, but again recovered quickly enough to swiftly dodge and parry another flurry of blows from the Knight of Wundagore. Much to his surprise, Lady Vermin let out a hearty laugh.
"So elegant and graceful," she said as Spider-Man caught her next punch. "I would expect nothing less."
"Are…are you having fun?" Spider-Man asked perplexed.
"Why, yes," she said then grabbed his arm and threw him at the edge of the building, which she pinned him against. "After all, this is a dance, is it not?"
"If it is, you might want to do something about those two left feet of yours," he said back and kneed her in the stomach making her lose her hold on him and he shoved her back.
"Cheap shot," she coughed. "But I like it."
"I'm just full of surprises," he quipped and threw out another punch, which Lady Vermin caught with her tail.
"And so am I," she said back and tossed him aside, but he somersaulted back on to his feet without missing a beat. Lady Vermin actually clapped at this. Spider-Man couldn't help, but find himself smile and gave a bow.
"Thank you, thank you. I'll be here every night at 9 PM, sharp. But, I think that's enough for tonight folks." He turned and made a run for the edge of the building, but Lady Vermin pulled something from around her waist and tossed it at Spider-Man's legs. The binding wrapped itself around them bringing him down to the floor hard.
"Ok, now THAT was a cheap shot," he complained getting the binding off his legs. Before he could do anything else, he felt Lady Vermin crash into his back sending them both down, but while Spider-Man took a few extra seconds to get his bearings, Lady Vermin was already on him again. She wrapped her hands around his arms and pulled him up to his knees.
"Now now, Spider-Man. A gentleman doesn't leave a date without giving the lady a kiss goodbye," she whispers.
"I have very strict rules about kissing people that work for others that want me dead," he replied. In response, Lady Vermin took his chin and gently pulled his face to look at her.
"I think you'll want to make an exception for me," she seductively whispers. "You deny it, but you feel an attraction between us. I see it in the way you fight. The way you dance."
"You're not so bad yourself despite the two left feet," he replied.
Um, what was that? Spider-Man thought. That wasn't a dance. She wanted to kill you…well, not really. Those weren't killing strikes. They were elegant, almost playful…
Spider-Man found his mouth start to go dry as he kept his eyes locked with Lady Vermin's. "Don't fight it. Give in. We can have something no one else on Counter Earth can-whoa!" Lady Vermin cried out as Spider-Man pulled them both up and he tossed her away from him.
"Hate to cut and run, but I've got places to be, Lady," Spider-Man said and jumped over the side of the building and began swinging as fast away as he could.
"What was that, Web Head?" He asks himself. "This is no time to start playing her game-holy cow!" He shouted as a laser blast just barely missed him. He looked over his shoulder and spotted Lady Vermin in pursuit. "You're not good with rejection, are you!" He shouted over at her.
Lady Vermin ignored this and pressed a button on her craft's control panel, locking a missile on Spider-Man and firing it straight at him. His Spider Sense went off alerting him to the projectile and he fires a web line at one of the hover cars above him pulling him out of the missile's path. The missile flew by, but then changed direction and soared back at him. He let go of the web line to dodge the missile. However, before it could change directions back at him, the missile struck Lady Vermin's craft.
"AHHHHHH!" She cried out as her vehicle exploded and threw her into the void.
"NO!" Spider-Man shouted.
They might be on opposite sides, but there was no way he was going to let her die. He fired a web at a passing her car then pulled and propelled himself at Lady Vermin, catching her and then firing another web at a nearby building to keep themselves in the air. For the first time since they met, Spider-Man saw something in the Knight's face that he hadn't before; vulnerability. She truly thought she might die and was holding onto the Web Swinger for dear life.
"Don't worry. I've got you," he assured her as they landed on the corner of a building ledge. "Are you alright?" He asked, holding her waist to keep her steady while her hands now rested on his shoulders.
Noticing their closeness, Lady Vermin's vulnerable look disappeared and was replaced with a smile. "I am now," she replied.
Now Spider-Man realized their closeness and felt his throat go dry again. Once more, he took a moment to really look at Lady Vermin. For a humanoid rat, she didn't look half bad. No, that was a lie. She was better than that. She was gorgeous. There was a sparkle in her deep red eyes that right now enchanted instead of terrorize. And her hands, which had left his shoulders and were now cupping his face, were soft. Very soft in fact, especially the way they caressed his face. Then there were her lips. They were just as red as her eyes and their color popped thanks to her grey skin. They were spread in an invitingly seductive smirk.
Um, keep your eyes up front, Spidey, he tell himself and looks away from her lips.
Not that it did him any good since he was right back to looking at her enchanting eyes. Furthermore, he realized he hadn't let go of her waist; her strong waist. Out of curiosity, he lightly caressed it with his thumbs and it was toned in a way that would make even him blush. Lady Vermin gave a low chuckle at his touch and licked her lips.
"Kiss me, beloved."
Those words broke Spider-Man from the haze. "E-excuse me," he stammered. Lady Vermin pressed herself against Spider-Man and her hands left his face to take his own and wrap them further around her waist so the two of them fit more snuggly together. It then hit Spider-Man how there was no space between them and the wall behind them, but he didn't push her away. In fact, he adjusted himself to keep the pair of them firmly against one another.
"Kiss me," she repeated; her hands cupping his face again. "I've thought about it every day since our first time."
"You kissed me, remember?"
"And now I want you to kiss me. I know you want to. I can feel it. You fight with an elegance that matches mine," she leaned close and buried her face in his shoulder, placing slow and soft kisses against it. Spider-Man swallowed thickly as he caught a familiar scent coming from her bare neck. What was it...cherries. They were Spider-Man's favorite fruit. How did she know?
His hands spasm from this smell, pulling her closer. Lady Vermin felt herself swallow as well. "My scent drives you wild," she continued as her hands stroked small circles around his chest. Spider-Man's eyes half shut in pleasure and he rested his head against Lady Vermin's shoulder. "And your body-oh my," she let out a tiny gasp when she felt Spider-Man's hand trace a path down her back. "Y-your body submits to our mutual embrace." She slowly kissed her way across his chest then he instinctively moved his head up to give her access to his neck, which she happily peppered with kisses. Spider-Man couldn't help it. He let out a moan and felt his body trembling all over.
Yessssss. That's it, Lady Vermin thinks.
"There is, but one line for us to cross. One final plunge."
"W-who jumps first?" Spider-Man asked becoming further enveloped by Lady Vermin's aura.
Naturally, she wanted to take the plunge now, but she knew that violated the art of seduction. Without anticipation, there is no satisfaction and the air was ripe with anticipation. But, an even more important part of the art was the complete willingness of the other. And so she dared to take a small step back. To remove the lack of space between him and the wall. To show him he was not locked in her arms because he was trapped, but because he wanted to hold her against him. Like two pieces that found one another. When she moved, he moved in sync with her as their hands travelled and explored one another's bodies.
"Oh my God...oh my God," she groaned and dragged her nails down his back while he began rubbing her ass.
"You're not the only one that can p-play this game," Spider-Man teased, pinching her ass. She sharply inhaled and her head collapsed onto Spider-Man's shoulder.
Now I have you. And not a moment less. I don't think I could hold out any longer, Lady Vermin thought. Her own body trembling from drawing out the anticipation.
"Look at me, beloved," she said raising her head and he did so as well without a moment of hesitation. The white eyes of his mask looking back into back into the deep red eyes of her. "Kiss me, Spider-Man," she requested once more.
Spider-Man could feel the nanites in his mask swirling around as if they were ready to uncover his mouth. He managed to keep them together, but only just. This is so wrong and he knew it. This seduction...he knew it was all a game to her and she'd kill him the first chance she got…but, who's to say he shouldn't have a little fun too. To let this temptress have her way with him. And so he too dared to take a step, only he stepped back into the wall with Lady Vermin stepping in time with him. To let her see he was willingly cutting off his only escape route and wanted to let her have him.
No! Spidey, you idiot! Let go of her and leave…let go…let…let, He couldn't break his gaze away from her eyes. Those enchanting, inviting eyes. Their haze clouding his remaining rational thoughts. Determined to break through Spider-Man's last bit of resolve, Lady Vermin pressed her forehead against Spider-Man's. There was no more space between them. The only part of their bodies not connected was their lips. She felt her heart flutter when Spider-Man's grip became tighter and more forceful. There was only one thing left to do.
"Kiss. Me."
