Part 1

Once upon a time, in the kingdom of Enchancia, a young princess was playing with her animal friends. She ran and hopped around the yard with Clover, Mia and Robin. Until her amulet began to glow. "Oh, I'm sorry, Clover. I need to go to the Secret Library."

"No problem, Sof. Be careful," the rabbit told her. "Hey, I'll come with you. Maybe I can help."

Sofia happily let Clover accompany her through the secret passages until she arrived. The elevator took her to the mirror level and she sat patiently. "This is my favorite part, Clover." She stroked the bunny while a book floated down. She read the title. "The Tale of the New Moon Theater. Ooo, sounds fun."

The book floated into the mirror. "Once upon a time, in the world of Mundania, in the city of Calatonia, there was a koala. This koala had one dream. To bring joy to the world through his theater. He soon found many friends who shared his love for the arts and they prepared to perform their show for the city. Until a terrible flood destroyed his theater and his hope. But they got together and built a makeshift stage and did their show anyway. It was a great success. However, now they want to take their dream to Redshore City but they need a big idea to impress theater mogul Jimmy Crystal."

Sofia smiled. "Okay, so they need me to give them a big idea. I think I can do that."

Clover grinned. "Hey, I want to go too. This place looks cool! They're wearing clothes and standing up like you do. Oh please, Sof! Let me go with you!"

The purple princess giggled. "Alright, Clover. You can come with me. But first, we have to find out how to get there and I should tell my family where I'm going. I've never heard of Mundania. But I bet I know someone who has." She looked up towards her castle.

In the royal library, King Roland pulled a thick volume from the shelves. "Mundania. It's been awhile since I've heard of Mundania. Are you sure?"

Sofia nodded. "The storybook was clear. The city of Calatonia in the world of Mundania is where I have to go, Dad. What kind of place is it?"

Roland sat with her. "Well, it's a very big place with many different realms. But it doesn't have much magic. It's almost all science and technology." He flipped through the book. "From what you told me, you're looking for Faunalia. There are no humans like you and me, only animals."

Sofia scratched her chin. "So how do I get there?"

"Hmm, that's the question. You should ask Cedric but I don't know if it's a good idea. There's a reason Mundania and the EverRealm exist separately," Roland told her. "It's a world without magic."

"Then I'll have to bring some. Clover is already going with me. I'll ask Cedric to come too," she promised her father. "Now I just need a good idea for a show."

A melodious voice giggled from another corner of the library. "Sofia, you already have the perfect idea to give them." Miranda came around the bookshelf with a book.

"I do?" Sofia asked. "What do you mean, Mom?"

"A girl from the village that becomes a princess and later saves the world," Miranda smiled proudly. "That's a brilliant plot for a play."

"Miranda, I still don't know if it's a good idea," Roland said protectively. "It might be dangerous."

Miranda kissed her husband. "Sofia is a strong, capable young princess. And if Cedric goes with her, she'll be fine."

"Besides, Dad, she beat an evil sorceress like she was an annoying fly," Amber said from where she was studying books on stars. "Sofia, if you go, you have to make sure you chart the stars for me."

Sofia nodded. "No problem, Amber." She stood up. "Well, I need to talk to Mr. Cedric."

Roland watched his stepdaughter leave with no small worry. "Miranda…"

"Rolly, I know you just want to protect her but I know Sofia can look after herself," his wife consoled him. "She's growing up…" She wiped her eyes and he hugged her.

"Faunalia? In Mundania? Why do you want to go there?" The royal sorcerer asked his apprentice as he flipped through his spell book.

"Because that's where my next story is. And I was hoping you would come with me," she smiled pleasantly at him.

Cedric looked down at her and sighed. He could never refuse her anything. She was his only true friend and the only reason he wasn't living in exile or worse. "Well, I guess I could use a break from the castle. Alright, I'll go with you."

"Great! Do you know how to get there?" She asked.

He nodded. "Oh, that's easy, Sofia." He pointed his wand at his mirror. "Abré la puerto." The mirror shimmered and they saw the lobby of the theater. An anthropomorphic Saluki in a teal pencil dress was walking away from the little koala.

"It really is a cute little show, just not what we're looking for," she told him.

"But you need to see the second act. Really, it's a smash…" the koala pleaded.

When the dog told him that he wasn't good enough, Sofia and Cedric both frowned. "Well, she's not very nice." Sofia said. "She could at least tell him why."

Cedric nodded. "Sofia, we have a job to do. I'm going to pack a few essential spells and my potion ingredients."

Sofia smiled at Clover. "Isn't this exciting, Clover? I love these adventures." She hugged her best friend.

Clover nodded. "I can't wait. Now's my chance to be a star."

Cedric grabbed a carpet bag and stuffed it with his supplies. He wasn't going into a land without magic without a supply of the stuff. "Alright, let's go."

Together, they walked through the mirror and into the theater lobby. Sofia ran over to the marquee. "Oh! Alice in Wonderland!"

"Yes, that's the show that's going on but tickets are sold out for tonight's show and it's half over anyway." Sofia and Cedric looked at a grand staircase where a severe-looking sheep stood in a long, green gown holding a matching fan. "Who are you? What are you?"

Sofia smiled and curtsied. "I'm Princess Sofia of Enchancia. This is Cedric the Great, our royal sorcerer. And this is Clover." She gestured to her companions.

Clover was still looking over himself. The magic of the mirror must have made him stand upright and gave him clothes like the others.

"I am Nana Noodleman. What is your business here, child?" She asked, looking down her long nose at the princess. "Come along, you can join me in my box."

Sofia took a few minutes to explain. "And so that's why I'm here. It's my job to give stories their happy endings and this is my next story." They followed Nana to her first tier box and stepped out. "Awwww, this is A-mazing! Look Clover, there are other rabbits in the show!" She clapped excitedly.

Nana chuckled and turned to Cedric. "Your daughter is easily amused."

"Oh no, she's not my daughter. That would be King Roland. I'm just here to protect my princess," he explained while they sat down. "But she is very easygoing. And she's a really good singer and dancer."

"I think I understand. Mr. Moon is currently out but, when he gets back, I'll happily introduce you," she promised. "He's going to need a little encouragement, I think."

Sofia watched the second half of the show while they waited. "Wow! A gorilla playing piano! A tap-dancing pig! An elephant!"

Nana looked down at the child with amusement. She scratched her chin. "And what sort of animal are you?" She asked.

"I'm a human. Where I'm from the animals mostly live wild. Except for my animal friends." Sofia hugged Clover.

Finally the show ended. "Well, why don't you come with me then. I'm sure Mr. Moon must be back by now."

They followed Nana around the theater until they reached the main office. She sighed when she heard the depressing music. "He does this when he gets a bad comment. He's so sensitive."

Sofia nodded. "She was really mean though. She didn't even offer him suggestions or ways to improve. She just said he wasn't good enough," she said. "But I think she's wrong. That was a great show!"

"That's what I thought!" A muffled voice said as wheels rolled and a koala popped out of the desk drawer. "Oh, hello Nana. Who are you?"

Nana chuckled. "Mr. Moon, this is Princess Sofia and her friends, Cedric and Clover. They've come looking for jobs and I think you should hear them out. Sofia, this is Buster Moon. He manages the theater for me. Now, enough with the pity party."

Buster sighed. "Nana, she said I wasn't good enough. My hopes and dreams will never come true."

Sofia shook her head. "That's not true. I saw your show. I think it's great." She told him.

The koala regarded the child. "When the best scout in the business…"

"You don't even know this person," Nana scolded him. "Do you know how many bad reviews I had to endure when I was in the business?"

Sofia smiled. "Yeah! If you think you're good enough, that's all that matters. You just need…" She remembered her Aunt Tilly's advice. She began singing, to Buster's surprise. "If you find yourself in trouble and you don't know what to do. Don't pull your hair out in despair before my song is through." She danced around him with glee. "See I got a little recipe. To take away your woes. And all of the ingredients. Are right behind your nose." Buster felt a little lighter as he listened to her childlike logic. She led him back down the stairs. "You just need two cups of courage and a little pinch of pluck. A quarter-pound of cleverness. A dash of plain ol' luck. Then you mix them up all together into one tremendous stew. It's a recipe for adventure cooking up inside of you." They stopped at the supply closet and she grinned at him.

Buster smiled at her and looked at his supplies. "You're right. And your voice is fantastic. You're in," he promised. "Come on! Let's get this stuff together and get everyone together. Redshore City is waiting."

AN: Sorry, I'm a Disney girl and I love Sofia and I couldn't help picturing Sofia helping Buster and the troupe. Please review.
