Chapter 8: The True Roman

This chapter starts after they visit Phineas and Percy drank the Gorgons blood

Percy's POV

"You two go to sleep," Percy said to Frank and Hazel. Frank looked at him and seemed reluctant to sleep and asked "Are you sure you are good after drinking that Gorgon's blood" I merely nodded at them in confromation. "I'll wake y'all if I'm having any problems" They seemed satisfied with this idea and laid down to sleep. Percy stared off into the horizon for a few minutes just pondering all that he had learned today his memories were starting to come back slowly but surely starting with his most recent memories.

As he was remembering all of these things he started to hear his two friends breathing become more rhythmic signaling that they were both asleep. He looked back to see Hazel's head on Franks's chest both looking content he smiled seeing them he knew they had feelings for each other. Thinking about all of this he couldn't help but think about Reyna and Annabeth. Annabeth had hurt him deeply and he felt like Reyna had healed him in a way and made him feel whole again.

As he was thinking this. there was a bright flash that made Percy close his eyes once the light had gone away he saw a sight that surprised him two women were in front of him one he recognized as Juno and the other was a gorgeous woman who made his jaw drop she had hair that shifted between blonde and black but black seemed to be the dominant hair color, and her eyes seemed to change between stormy gray and obsidian black with obsidian being dominant, but the one thing that didn't ever really change was her tanned skin which stayed tan. Percy realized she looked a lot like Reyna but was moving back and forth between her and Annabeth's appearances with Reyna's being the dominant appearance he wondered if this was the war that was going on in his heart he hoped it was because on the outside Reyna was winning and in his heart, he felt she was too. After a minute of staring Percy regained his composure and said "Lady Juno, Lady Venus (he figured out who she was, what do you think about Percy using the Roman names?) to what do I owe your visit?"

To his surprise, Venus answered first saying " I sense the internal struggle you are having it is not just who you wish to be in your life but also the side you want to be on. I understand you have parts of your memory back and you remember her betrayal." Percy started studying the bottom of the boat at this and Venus lifted his head up to look at her and to his surprise she embraced him in a hug. " I know she hurt you but you have found a new family with people who love and care for you." At this Juno took over the talking and Venus flashed away. "You have multiple choices ahead of you young Perseus," Juno said. Percy Flinched as he heard his full name but chose not to correct her. She continued saying "I sent you to the Romans for a reason you both needed each other so I am giving you a choice." Juno had his full attention at this because he remembered his heartbreak at Camp Half-Blood ( he realizes they are a Greek Camp) and how he was accepted into Camp Jupiter. Juno kept talking not even taking a breath saying " I will make you a full Roman" I was very confused at this and said the smartest thing I could think of "Huh" Juno shook her head and said "You are a son of Posidean I have talked to Neptune about your situation he is willing to make you a son of Neptune" I was bewildered at this but after thinking for a minute finally answered, "ok". Juno nodded and said give me a minute and dropped a pearl into the water a moment later a figure rose from the water and Percy made the effort he didn't for the two goddesses and bowed to his father. A slight smile played on his father's lips as he said "Rise my son" Percy did so and embraced his father in a hug. Neptune hugged back and said, "Think about this choice do you truly want to become a Roman this cannot be undone". "Yes Father" I answered. He merely nodded before using his hands to touch both of my temples I felt a searing pain but I refused to fall to the floor of the boat a second later his hands were gone and Juno said: "Hello Perseus Son Of Neptune". At this, his friends started to awaken the two gods looked at him and Juno said "We must go now but honor us as a true Roman now".

Reyna's POV

The camp was tense after Percy and Hazel had Iris messaged me about the incoming army. It was terrible timing for the IM seeing as I was in the baths, but Percy being a true gentleman had turned away and let Hazel do the talking. Immediately after this I called an emergency senate meeting and called the centurions there as well so all the leaders knew what was happening so we could have the twelfth legion ready. After the senate meeting, we started training in overtime getting ready for anything we would defend our home. Later that night I was in the training arena to better myself as well as reminisce about my times here with Percy. I had only known him a short time but for some reason, I felt so close to him. Especially after the vision Venus had shown me of his last day with his so called "girlfriend" she thought as she hacked away at a dummy. Once she had destroyed the first training dummy she dug another one out of the storage building and starting attacking it.

Once I had finished my training I was walking back to my Praetor house I was worried for Percy and his quest not just for him and his group but also for what their quest meant for New Rome and Camp Jupiter she couldn't lose these things they were her life.

I walked into my house and got in the shower after that I changed and got ready for bed but before I did I prayed to my mother begging for the safety of New Rome, and Percy and his quest once I had finished that I laid down and went to sleep thinking about all that was to come.
