It's a mess. Mox never should've left. The Raw and Smackdown digidestined are held suspended in a deep purple globe of energy and there's nothing Mox can do to reach them. Every time he tries to touch the damn thing, it feels like he's about to be sucked up inside of it, and Otamamon has to pull him back to a safe distance. He grits his teeth. "Seth!"
A shadow crosses over him, startles him. He looks up and freezes in place, staring up at the creature hovering over him. A golden armor plated body, with black eyes and sharp spikes, claws, pretty much anything dangerous you can think of, this guy has it.
"Who the hell are you?" Duke asks from behind him, the NXT and AEW wrestlers all clustered around, whispering and trying to find a way to save the other digidestined.
Mox wants to yell at him for approaching, but before he can even turn, the vicious looking digimon hovers a little closer, the tip of his spikes touching where Seth and the others are frozen behind the purple energy. "You think you deserve to know my name? You weak digidestined, not even the A team." He laughs mockingly. "You are aware of what I've done to the A team, I see. imagine what I would do to you all."
Mox hates him. Hates the entire situation. Hates Seth for insisting on staying, not that he thinks it would've mattered- they would've been in this situation with or without him, but at least if Seth had stayed on Earth, the last thing Mox remembers saying to him being a cheap dig about how he's not needed wouldn't have been said at all, nor the flash of pain on his face afterwards. "Otamamon," he calls out, relieved when his partner immediately springs to action.
Plesiomon hovers close, cool and calm, a steady presence that Mox really needs right now.
"Plesiomon," he says.
"It's ok, Jon," his partner responds. "I've got it." And he does, without any instruction from Mox. Lunges forward until the other digimon can't even hope of dodging him and glows a light blue, his mouth open wide as he sings, a sorrowful song that leaves everyone in the area feeling glum.
The gold-bodied digimon hisses, sways. His powers fade, some of the fight leaving him. "What are you doing to me?"
Before he can stabilize his powers, reclaim the orb around the digidestined, there's a bright glow, the digidestined surrounding Mox all aiming their digivices at him. Mox gapes, turning in a slow circle as their power, mixed with Plesiomon's, completely shatters whatever's left of the digimon's control, the purple orb fading away, dropping the Raw and Smackdown digidestined unceremoniously to the ground below.
"Shit!" Mox gasps, rushing forward and kneeling at Seth's side. "Hey. Hey, I told you to stay home. Seth!" He holds onto his shoulders, shaking him. "C'mon, wake up."
Seth groans, his eyes slowly fluttering open. "Dean," he breathes out, reaching out and gripping Mox's forearm with shaking fingers. He pauses after a few moments and groans. "Sorry. Mox."
"No, don't worry about that. C'mon," Mox mumbles, helping him to sit up. "Are you ok?"
"Think so," Seth sighs, before tensing and looking around. "Wait, where did that-?" He tenses up upon seeing the digimon, still hovering before them with a vicious snarl on his face.
"Foolish digidestined, this isn't the last you've seen of me," he announces with a bellow before disappearing at a speed that leaves them all floored.
"Well, shit," Mox mumbles, bracing a hand against Seth's chest. "No, you're not going after him," he says. "Let's get you home before something else happens."
Seth huffs, closing his eyes and dropping his head back against Mox's shoulder. "Fine," he mumbles reluctantly. "I guess."
"Stubborn jackass," Mox says with to limited fondness, before getting to his feet and leaning in to help Seth up as well.
"What about the mission we left behind?" Duke wonders, and Mox casts an impatient glare at him. "Just wondering."
"You guys make sure Seth gets home," Mox says, none too thrilled with the situation as he lets Owens take over in supporting Seth the rest of the way over to the digiport. "We'll finish up here and be right behind you." He points at Seth. "You listen to them, understand me?"
"Sir, yes, sir," Seth says tiredly, mock-saluting at him before allowing Kevin to guide him over to the digiport. "Stay smart yourself there, Mox."
"Always do," he says, watching until Seth and the others have disappeared through the digiport before turning back to his own team. "Alright, let's go back."
Thankfully their mission ends up being nothing too strenuous, just some weak leveled digimon getting bullied by other weak leveled digimon and Mox finds himself back on earth before too long, messing around with his phone until he gets a video call with Seth connected, seeing for himself that the guy got home in one piece, which helps ease some of his tension.
