Author's Note:
Things are heating up. Getting a little riskier and a bit more into the meat of things. And we've finally reached 100,000 words for the story. Yay.
I was planning on updating later and just uploading the rest of the arc all at once. However, it's already been a good bit of time and I don't want to make people wait too long. With this being said, I've switched over to the "mass upload" schedule where I hold off on uploading and then upload multiple chapters as once.
My plans for this arc will include around five more chapters give or take one or two. My question for the readers is should I upload three or four or would you all rather I wait and upload the rest of the chapters together?
My final note is that I changed the cover art for the story! I put in a commission to have something drawn custom for the story!

Remnants of a Courier
Chapter 24: The Long Day
"So now it's our turn?" Ruby knew her question was redundant but she couldn't help it! She was so excited to get to train with Ulysses! Everyone in the academy had been talking about it for the past few weeks!
The five of them were in the infamous "Murder Box" mister House had made. It looked more like a boxed-in yard but that was beside the point!
The guard nodded his head before responding, "that is what I had to get the certification for."
What did he mean by a certification? That didn't really make sense to her but whatever. She was just happy it was finally their turn to fight him.
"Awesome! Aren't you all excited?" Ruby's enthusiasm hadn't seemed to reach her teammates yet who all stood there with varying expressions. Except for Yang, of course, she liked a challenge.
"Sure am Ruby! The question is, is House here ready to get his butt handed to him?" Ah, a classic Yang response. That was why her older sister was so cool! Confidence!
Their instructor raised a hand before saying, "now while I do want a sparring session to get a read on how you fight, I'm afraid to say I'll be facing you all individually."
Why was that? He had fought everyone as a team before.
"And before you ask, it's because you're one of two teams that are on the skill level of second-year students. And while I'm skilled, I'm no huntsman." It made sense but still, his answer deflated her a bit.
She had heard so much about how this guard came out of nowhere and started whooping behinds! Still, it made sense that he wasn't up to a huntsman's standards. Being a mercenary and all.
"Fine by me, I'll take you on myself," Yang said while moving onto a clearing in the center of the yard.
"Guess she's up first. Alright, the rest of you move to the walls." Ruby, Weiss, and Blake obeyed the order and moved out of range. Making sure not to stand behind their instructor so Yang wouldn't accidentally shoot them.
Ruby couldn't bring herself to sit as she vibrated in place. "Go get him Yang!" While shouting, the red-themed girl fist-pumped the air.
Her sister gave a thumbs up before turning to their instructor. "Ready when you are," the blonde said while putting up her fists.
"Three," House began as he pulled out his weapon. The infamous Maria! Was it named after a lost lover? A friend? Family? Who knew?!
"Two," he continued as he took a few steps back. "One." Ulysses aimed the weapon right at her.
"Go," he said before firing on her sister.
Yang took it in stride, blasting the ground beneath her and jumping to get out of the way of his bullets. She was a blonde blur in the air as she fired Ember Celica at House.
The guard rolled to the side in a short and quick movement. Nothing fancy from him. What was interesting was that he never stopped firing the entire time.
Yang ate a few dust rounds in the air before descending towards him. With a single jump, she had closed the distance.
Their instructor stood and fired at her while she descended. Right when Ruby thought he was going to take a hit, he rolled forward, dirt exploding behind him as Yang landed.
The blonde didn't slow down for a second as she sent a horizontal kick at him. This did little to hinder Ulysses as he ducked below her kick before grabbing Yang.
With a quick twist, she was down on the ground. But just as Ruby knew her sister would, Yang tried something daring!
She used one gauntlet to shoot at their instructor who was forced to back off. This gave the blonde enough time to shoot the ground below her. This launched her back up into the air a few feet where she twisted around before delivering a downward kick.
Despite this bold move, their instructor sidestepped it. Ruby's eyes widened as she watched Mister Untouchable grab Yang's wrist before using his other hand to deliver a hook to her cheek.
With the momentary confusion of being hit, Ulysses used the moment to drag her around using her gripped wrist. He then kicked out her knee before pressing a hand to her face and slamming Yang into the ground.
The blonde let out a slight wheeze but didn't have a moment to rest as their instructor was ruthless! He brought up his boot and Yang rolled out of the way just before his foot met the dirt where her head used to be.
"You're just as good as everyone has been saying," Yang conceded as she rose to one knee, shaking her head for a moment.
The guard checked the device on his wrist. Giving Ruby the idea to look down at her scroll. When she did so, the aura monitor read that Yang's aura was in the yellow. How was that possible? She had only been hit and shot a few times.
Once their instructor looked back to Yang, he chuckled. "Oh, I'm a little better than that," he commented before holding up a single blonde strand of hair. Oh no…
The blonde in question checked her hair for a moment before realizing what had happened.
"You… You… You're going down!" Yang's eyes shifted to an angry red as she charged their instructor.
The first few punches seemed to shake the earth around the two. Whatever kinetic damage he had dealt before was being dished back now.
That was Yang's ability after all. Absorb blows given to her as kinetic energy before dishing them back with extra force! Little could stop her sister when she was angry.
The huntress in training threw powerful and wild punches but couldn't seem to actually land a hit. At this point, Ruby was getting worried for her sister.
Their instructor on the other hand was eerily quiet as he dodged each punch. Bobbing and weaving between her attacks; he seemed to be almost analyzing her?
Eventually, his fist flung out, connecting with Yang's face. This didn't slow the blonde as she continued her assault. Her gauntlets letting off countless shots.
While the first fist didn't halt her, there was another, and another, and another. Soon, every punch Yang threw at him was getting a punch in return. But he was connecting where she wasn't
It took a few minutes of going like that but eventually Yang's aura was depleted and she collapsed to one knee.
"I'll… I'll…" Yang's words were soft now as she tried to stand back up, only to fall onto all fours. While they wouldn't be physically hurt due to their aura, it still exhausted huntresses to deplete it.
"Yang!" Ruby's cry of worry was accompanied by her zooming to Yang's side.
"If I had to say," Six began as he cracked his knuckles. "What you should change is… Your attacks. They're too flashy. They use too much movement and are easy to see through. Oh, and you're easy to provoke. It makes it easier to predict what you're doing when you're throwing out wild punches."
Ruby was a little stunned. She had seen very few people soundly beat her sister like that. Heck, she figured Yang wound finish it with her semblance. Absorbing their instructor's blows before dealing it back. But Yang had never gotten the chance as she never got a hit in.
House clapped his hands together before saying, "well, who's next?"
"I am," Weiss replied as she took a step towards the open area.
There was a slight pause from their teacher before he nodded his head. This gave Ruby enough time to hook Yang's arm around her and begin dragging the blonde towards a wall to rest. She must have been really tired.
Once the two were out of the way, their instructor moved across from Weiss and turned his back to her.
"So, did my advice help you? The one from before." Ruby wasn't sure what House was talking about but Weiss seemed to.
"It did… Thank you. Perspective is important to maintain." Her partner's answer seemed to satisfy House as he took his position before reloading his weapon.
"Ready?" Their instructor punctuated his question by aiming Maria at Weiss.
Ruby's partner smirked before taking a stance, pointing her rapier at her opponent. "Always."
Instead of the usual countdown from before, there was a simple "go."
Her teacher immediately began firing upon Weiss but the girl had seen the previous fight and was prepared. The pale girl swatted the first dust round out of the air as she dodged to the side.
With the initial barrage done, the future huntress conceded to let a found rounds hit her as a glyph appeared at her feet. Oh, Ruby knew what was coming next!
Unfortunately, she had to take several dust rounds which began depleting her aura to let the glyph form. When Ruby checked her scroll, she saw her partner's aura was already in the yellow. How was that possible? What was Ulysses' gun firing?
When her silver eyes glanced back up at the fight, she saw her partner zooming towards House at impressive speeds rapier first.
Just as her weapon was about to connect with their instructor, something strange happened. For a second it looked like her teacher had been analyzing her in the last moment before moving in a blur as he shot Weiss's weapon.
The dust round knocked her partner's weapon completely off course causing her to miss. Even worse, she was still traveling at fast speeds and it looked like their instructor planned to use it.
As she continued flying at him, he caught her face with his hand before slamming her into the ground with almost Yang levels of force.
"And that is that," House commented as he ejected the spent magazine.
Did he just… End the fight in the first twenty seconds? What?
"How did you…" Weiss managed to get out from her prone position before Ruby charged up to him.
"How did you do that? It was so fast! It was over in an instant and you, I, that was awesome! Also, Weiss are you okay?" Ruby couldn't contain herself as she spoke; her hands pressed to her chest as she vibrated in place.
"I'm okay you dolt," the former heiress responded while getting to her feet. She tilted her head from side to side, stretching her neck out. "I can't believe I fell for that."
After a few moments of stretching, Weiss pointed her finger at their instructor. "And you, I'll get you next time." After her statement, the future huntress stormed off to the wall.
"You'll have a better chance if you strategically use your glyphs," Ulysses called to her. "Setting one up when I'm shooting at you isn't smart." Weiss didn't dignify him with a response.
"I'm next, I'm next," Ruby shouted as she moved into position. This was going to be so much fun!
This was incredibly tiring. Six had more endurance than the average person but four fights in a row was starting to push it. Not to mention he had other plans for later. At least he was halfway done.
The Courier raised his arms and stretched while walking to his spot. He just had to keep this up for a bit longer and not get hit.
His gaze shifted to Ruby who was shifting from side to side as Six reloaded his gun. Several scenarios ran through his mind as he watched her.
She was likely to gun straight for him as per Ruby's style. However, she also saw the previous fights so it wouldn't be that simple. The video footage he studied over the past few days revealed she could be cunning when she needed to be.
Her Semblance, speed. Mix that with trickery and it was a deadly combo. There was no way she wasn't going to try something. Of course, he had his trump card just in case.
"Alright," Six said while chambering a round into his gun. "Start."
Ruby's action was immediate and not what he had been expecting. She brought her blade up before sinking it into the ground and firing the sniper at him.
So, she didn't plan to close the distance yet? That was fine with him. He managed to sidestep the first shot before ducking under the next. Six was returning fire the entire time.
As Ruby was quickly finding, getting in a firefight where you stood completely still was not smart. Her first few shots missed and all of his shots connected. Despite this, she continued her assault.
This was problematic. He would win but he couldn't just continue dodging, he wasn't that fast, and he was more predicting where she'd shoot than actually dodging.
Joshua reached into his uniform jacket before producing a rather heavy-duty metal tray from the cafeteria. In actuality, he reached into his uniform to hide him materializing the object.
Ruby's look of confusion quickly turned to shock as he began blocking her projectiles with the simple carrying tool.
This was much easier to do and less exhausting than his previous strategy. The only reason it worked was due to the specialization of dust bullets.
The weapons of Remnant were creative but inferior to his world. Specifically, how dust and dust bullets worked. They were fantastic at causing harm to flesh and other soft substances. It also reacted violently to Grimm. However, it had little to no penetration power, being stopped by any sort of metal whatsoever. Similar to incendiary rounds.
There was an exception of course. Dust tended to have other effects than that of bullets. Burn dust could explode and ice could freeze the affected area. Ruby was firing neither of these.
With this new tactic, Ruby was losing far too much aura to maintain her position. Still, she didn't directly charge him yet.
Instead, she lifted her scythe before dashing to the side. She was moving at incredible speeds and was circling around him. This speed would make her almost impossible to hit for the average person.
Six was anything but. He used the same trick he had on Weiss, activating V.A.T.S. and giving himself a moment to think.
In this confined space, his opponent opted to run along the walls. Her speed making it possible despite the laws of physics she was breaking.
The Courier had a fairly decent chance of hitting her center mass but only a 33% chance of hitting either of her legs. With this in mind…
Five shots rang out as the Courier fired at the red blur. Three shots missed before the fourth found its mark with the fifth and final shot missing just after. The fourth shot had been targeted at her leg. It wasn't meant to maim but to knock it off course.
Ruby's eyes opened in surprise as her foot connected with the wall at an odd angle, causing it to slip. This in turn sent her entire body crashing downwards without the forward momentum to keep her going.
The girl hissed in pain as she sat back up only to have to block a bullet with her blade as her teacher continued firing at her. Six didn't plan on letting up until her aura was in the red.
Realizing she had little choice, Ruby dashed forward and lunged at him. It was really the only option he left open for her.
Six shot her a few times while in the air, dropping her aura into the red before he ducked under her scythe. She sailed past him before landing in the grass behind him face first.
"Ow," she muttered from the ground as Six let out a sigh of relief. That had been troublesome. The fact he hadn't been hit that entire time was nothing short of a miracle.
"Do you want to know why you lost," Six asked while standing up and moving back towards his starting position. "It's because you rely too much on your Semblance. That and I've done my homework on each of you."
"That doesn't seem fair," the girl responded as she got to her feet, slowly stretching. A few pops came from her muscles as she continued, "How are we supposed to beat you if you know everything in advance?"
The Courier shrugged. "Guess you should have done more homework yourself. Life isn't fair and your enemies won't wait for you to do research on them." His response brought a small frown to Ruby's face.
"Plus, I have to fight four of you in a row, I need the advantage." Six chuckled after speaking, reloading his gun while he did.
A pout came from the red-themed future huntress who crossed her arms. "But you have more experience than us."
Joshua grinned under his helmet as he turned to her before saying, "and that experience told me to get the advantage before we fought."
Ruby's pout didn't let up be she did nod her head before heading towards her teammates, understanding of his words but not satisfied by them.
"I guess it's just me then," Blake said as she made her way over to the spot across from Six. Out of all of them, she seemed to be the one that was least interested in all of this.
"You can do it! Show him who's boss!" Team RWBY's leader said from her new position at the wall.
This was quickly followed up by Yang. "Yeah, he ain't that tough!"
Despite her nonchalant attitude, the Courier could tell she was analyzing him. It was the keen look in her eye as she eyed not only him but the terrain around them. She even seemed to be tuning out the words of encouragement from Yang and Ruby.
Blake had the most information about him which was a problem. Of course, it was measly compared to the research he had done for them. Well, measly in comparison to the research over the students and staff of Beacon he had to conduct. Six never took a job unprepared.
Joshua was about to begin the little duel but was cut off by Blake who said, "start."
She used the momentary surprise to rush him while firing multiple shots from her transformed weapon.
It wasn't enough. He used the tray from his last engagement to block the shots while firing in return.
Blake was agile and used this agility to dodge the first round. She was quickly growing too close for his comfort.
The next shot was blocked by one of her "shadows" which took the hit for her as she moved to the side. This was followed by her lunging at Six as she transformed her blade back into its katana-like state.
The make-shift shield came up in his defense, blocking the strike from her weapon. The small katana embedded itself into the tray before Joshua twisted it to the side. This wrenched the blade out of Blake's hand and to the ground.
Blake's instructor didn't want to but he still brought his other hand forward and pistol-whipped her. Joshua didn't like doing that to his guns.
In turn, the girl gripped his wrist before jumping up and wrapping her legs around his arm. Six recognized his own move as he let out a grunt of surprise.
His opponent leaned back, pressed her shoulders to the ground, and in one motion flung him over. This sent Six towards the grass but he managed to use the momentum to twist himself to face the ground, this gave him just enough time to land feet first.
Not wasting any time, the Courier turned and fired on Blake who used another shadow to roll out of the way and towards her weapon.
The teenager let out a hiss of pain as her hand was shot while reaching for her weapon. She quickly used her other hand to grab the handle before using a shadow to avoid another shot from her instructor.
This was getting problematic for Six. Blake had either studied the previous fights and discerned a great deal or she had been researching him before today. Either way, it was a serious nuisance.
Her shadows were the real issue as they evened the playing field in terms of gunplay. Blake's shadows would take a near-certain chance of hitting down to nearly no chance.
There was one last surprise he planned on using though, he just had to wait for the right moment. For now, he was fine with this little song and dance they were doing. Six would wait for her to either get overconfident or make a mistake.
The next thirty seconds went by in a blur. Neither of them really wanted to risk anything so they stuck to staying their distance and taking potshots. Neither of them had hit so far.
Then, in the flash a second, Blake shot out the rope-like chains from her weapon and embedded them into the wall behind him. The weapon began pulling her forward and closing the distance.
There was no way this was just a straight-on attack and Six knew it. He fired multiple shots at her and she ate them this time. Her aura had finally dropped into the yellow at least. That also meant that Maria was currently empty.
Deciding not to chance whatever plan she had, Six ended it before it could begin by grabbing the chain from her weapon. This was followed by him yanking it down and sending the Faunus crashing into the dirt.
Now was his chance, Six charged forward and threw his gun at her. Poor Maria, he'd fix it later. This did serve to dissipate the clone Blake made as she dodged backward. This also gave him just enough time to draw his combat knife. It wasn't the Blood Nap but he didn't get to choose what he brought to Remnant.
Blake's eyes opened in surprise as the Courier not only drove the knife into her side but also tackled her to the ground. Her aura held up but with a few more well-placed punches Blake was finally down.
Six laughed to himself as he stood up, taking in deep breaths between his laughter. He had done it; he hadn't taken a single hit. If he was being honest, it was probably because this was a sparring session and not a full-on fight. They were probably holding back, at least a bit.
The girl lay on the ground breathing heavily as well.
"I… Wow, that was a cool fight," Yang commented as she strode over with the rest of the team in tow.
"I still can't believe none of us hit him." Weiss's words held irritation in them as she crossed her arms.
Ruby on the other hand was kneeling down and making sure her teammate was okay. Pressing a palm to Blake's head and mumbling under her breath.
"Not for a lack of effort," Joshua got out as he moved to retrieve Maria. "I need a vacation."
"But we only started classes a few weeks ago," Ruby stated as she turned to him.
"You remind me of someone I met," Blake began as she slowly got to her feet. "Another mercenary that liked simple weapons."
Six felt his blood run cold.
"When did you meet another mercenary," Weiss asked with a brow raised. This caused Blake to look away. The girl obviously wanted to keep secrets as much as he did.
"Don't worry about it, us mercs tend to get around." Six did his best to cover for Blake and in turn cover for himself. "And if he liked simple weapons… Probably from Vacuo like me. Sure, huntsman and huntresses get fancy weapons but everyone else? No. Double-so for Vacuo where supplies are scarce."
This seemed to satisfy Blake but Six figured that only left her content her for now. She'd likely look into more details in the future. A possible problem.
"Wait, I didn't know you used to be a mercenary," Yang commented which caused Ruby to grow a pensive look.
The leader tapped her chin while saying, "I think I remember Ozpin saying something like that."
The Courier shrugged while wiping off the grime from his gun. He'd have to clean it tonight. At least his little tactic had worked.
"Technically a private military contractor, just an official term for a "professional" mercenary." Six rolled his eyes under his helmet. There were a lot of formalities in this world. "And that's technically ex-mercenary now. I'm a security guard, and don't go spreading this info around."
The four of them nodded their heads though he doubted they'd take his order that seriously.
"Blake," Six began as he holstered Maria. "You were good. You did your research, used your skills and abilities to your advantage, and made a plan." He held up a finger before continuing, "but you weren't great at improvising when a plan fell through. You always need to be adaptable to the situation."
The secret Faunus nodded her head but didn't bother to grace him with a response. Teenagers these days.
"Alright, I've got all the information I need, I think I can get a small program running for your group so that will be all for today." Six's words brought a frown to Ruby's face.
"That's all? We've only been at it for twenty minutes!" Ruby's excitement was tiring but at least she was engaged.
"I need to make a training schedule. As well as exercises for all of you individually and as a group. That doesn't happen in a moment." Six replied while Yang wrapped an arm around her little sister.
"Come on Ruby, we'll go do our own team-building exercises okay?" Yang's offer seemed to brighten the girl's mood as she looked up.
"Then there's no time to waste, come on Yang!" The younger of the two grabbed her older sister before literally dragging her out of the yard. The other two followed after their two teammates.
Six didn't even get a proper goodbye. Whatever at least he was alone now. Time to go put the finishing touches on his plan for tonight.
Joshua's gloved hand idly brushed over the spikes running along the back of his armored forearm. They were snow-white and bone-like in appearance.
This was the first time he was wearing the redesigned Elite Riot Armor. He'd call it Mimic armor for now considering the persona. He still had perfect vision through the lenses despite the bone-like mask covering the gasmask.
The task of sneaking out of his room in the dead of night was a relatively simple one. Joshua had spent a month… Or was it a month and a week now? Either way, he had plenty of time to memorize when people generally went to sleep and where security was.
He was currently sitting at the base of one of the buildings near the large tower where Ozpin's office was located. Given that the man retired to it every night he must have some kind of sleeping quarters there.
The Courier had just the tool to get in quietly. The small cutting device from the workshop was perfect for his purposes. It was designed for small and intricate designs in the weapon but would also quietly cut through glass.
Six had two goals for this mission. One, to get the info on Ozpin's computer. Two, to leave proof that he had been there.
That's where the new toys he made just for this occasion came into play. Though they could have uses in the future as well.
The first was an attachment for his boots that gave him talons on the edge of his toes. This could be used to kick into the side of buildings. The other tools were just two small picks. They weren't as fancy but they'd get the job done.
He also knew who was on shift tonight. Jeremy, a lazy guard that would likely be fired soon. This meant he probably wouldn't be spotted on the cameras near the base of the tower in the few minutes he'd need.
So, with one last breath in, Six dashed towards the tower in his Grimm-like armor before jumping up the base of the tower and digging a pick into the wall.
This was quickly followed by another pick and his clawed feet sinking into the wall as well. This began the long climb up the massive tower.
It was boring, each small step, each clink as the pick dug into the building. Six had long ago passed the point where the cameras could see him. He had also left a trail below him of small holes where he had dug into the wall. Some poor architect was going to be furious.
Still, at least it was almost over. With a few more stabs at the wall, Joshua pulled himself over an edge and to the large stained-glass clock face of the tower's uppermost floors.
He leaned his back against the glass, catching his breath. There was plenty of time to get this job done. All night in fact.
The Courier turned to the window, not daring to look down at the moment. The wind at this height was gusty and he made sure to remain close to the window.
He produced the scalpel-like tool which hummed as the blade gently glowed. Atlesian Vibro Knife Mk. IV, the design was complex. It used a mixture of high-frequency yet low-speed movement to make exact cuts. Combine that with heat and it could cut in a clean and concise manner.
It brought back memories of his childhood. This brought a frown to the man's face as he quickly pushed it back aside. Knives were never his favorite tool.
The knife was brought to the window and gently pressed into it. It cut through the glass with ease before being slowly dragged downward. A quiet hissing noise came from the glass as Six worked.
The turn at the bottom was a bit tricky but with patience and time, he made it work. From there he repeated the processes sideways before turning and heading back up again. He completed it by bringing the knife back around to the start.
This was the difficult part. As the knife finally connected with the beginning of the square he had cut out, Six moved his hand next to the glass. As the heated piece disconnected from the whole, it began falling towards him.
This was fortunate as it meant he caught it with relative ease before slowly tilting it the other way and inside. Before long, Joshua put the glass piece on the floor inside the tower. Making no noise.
The Courier turned and checked the glass behind him; quickly running his hands along it and listening. There didn't appear to be any sort of alarm system in place. A foolish mistake.
With that, he had free reign of the office, at least for now. Inside was a single desk and chair for business work. Above it was various large cogs and clockwork all moving in tandem. It was something Six had never seen before.
Now that he took a second look around, the windows seemed to cast a strange blue light over the room and made him feel like he was almost in a dream with the wonderous and outrageous design choices for the tower.
The sound of the clockwork moving above him would mask his presence but seemed to add to the mystical feel of the room.
Six was the only thing that stood out in the room as all the walls, the floor, and even the desk seemed to be made out of the same material that shone with a brilliant light. The moonlight from the window reflecting off the surfaces and then up to the cogs where they disappeared into a seemingly endless sea of moving clockwork and darkness.
Joshua shook his head, shaking himself from the sight as he made his way over to the desk. After a few cursory taps on the desk, a holographic projection appeared asking for a username and password.
And now came the last tool for his job. In the month or so he'd been there, several items and upgrades had been added to his inventory. Dust to his guns, new equipment, but most importantly was the program he had written since he came here.
Hacking had always been an easy thing for Six, often finding himself in places he shouldn't be, accessing files he shouldn't, even when he was a child. His mother was both angry and proud at the time. A smart woman from a long time ago.
Joshua plugged his Pip-Boy into the machinery below the hologram before running the program. Since he didn't have to worry about delivery with the physical access, the malware could do its work right then and there. It would also save him the time of manually trying to break in.
With physical access, the program would begin doing multiple things, running the machinery and slowing its processing power, trying to brute force the password, and various other tasks that would keep any security busy.
Of course, Joshua wasn't idle during this time, he often found himself staring at his Pip-Boy's holographic monitor and making changes to whatever code he could get his hands on.
Within thirty minutes, Ozpin's office computer was cracked wide open. This was another boring part now.
He didn't have time to sift through the files, blueprints, and programs on the computer. Instead, Six simply began mass downloading all of its files onto his Pip-Boy. Given this was a large download, it was probably going to take another thirty minutes.
Thirty minutes came and went. With not much really happening. Six sat there, reading what files he could as the download continued. The blueprints were interesting and some documents were titled "Third Parties" but nothing that was…
Just as the download was coming to a close, Six spotted the blueprints of what appeared to be some kind of subterranean stronghold under the school. There was something large hidden under every student's feet and likely only a select few knew about it. Could it contain what Cinder was after?
Joshua was knocked out of his musings as a quiet "ping" indicated that the download was finished. With a few clicks, Six removed any evidence of the download. There was just one last thing he needed to do.
The program he used to get into Ozpin's computer ran for a couple more minutes before letting off a second ping. This notified the Courier that the spyware he downloaded onto the device was ready. This would monitor the Headmaster's business as well as pick up any voices in the room before recording.
It would hide as other software and send any information to his Pip-Boy. If the program was discovered, it was programmed to terminate itself and he could manually severe the connection between it and his Pip-Boy. Leaving virtually no trace.
With all of this done, Six signed out of the device. Ozpin would know someone was here but not who they were or what they did. That was the intended idea anyways.
Now it was time to take one more long climb back down. Fun.
Author's Note:
For those that didn't guess it, the tray being used as a shield to stop dust bullets is taken from the "food fight" scene in RWBY.
Fun fact, the classification for Blake's weapon (the Gambol Shroud) is VBCS or "Variant Ballistic Chain Scythe."
Likewise, Operation: Jack Ozpin's Shit has come to a close.
