They've done this before. Back before there were this many of them to justify defeating overpowered Digimon like Darkness Bagramon. Seth had assumed this would be as easy, but he's quicker than expected, and he outmaneuvers them, sending a flood of dark energy down upon them.
"No," Seth exclaims, watching, unable to do anything as Aegisdramon tries and fails to move faster, catch up, tear the darkness to shreds.
The power is bearing down on the digidestined too quickly, there's no hope- all Seth and Mox can do is watch, wait, and hold their breath as the destruction aims right for them, for the others, determined to defeat all of the digidestined and their partners in one fell swoop.
Before he can think about what to say, how maybe to mitigate any damage to come from this, there's a streak of color- and then Shinsuke and Asuka are standing, side by side, glowering up at the overwhelming darkness approaching.
"Shinsuke?!" Wade yells out.
"Asuka, move!" Seth exclaims at the same time, eyes wide, worried.
"No," she calls back, Shinsuke likewise ignoring Wade. "We will protect. We..." She casts a glance over at Shinsuke, who nods, shoulders set and determined. "We have been digidestined longer than all of you, we can take it." She reaches out, claims Shinsuke's hand, and he squeezes back before they both hold out their digivices. "We will not allow you to harm anyone else!"
It's hard to see, and getting worse as the energy slams towards them, and all Seth can register is the mocking laughter of Darkness Bagramon over the loud roar overhead.
