"So, we doing this?" Mox asks, looking up at the dark, ugly stain in the sky overhead. "Dark Ocean?"
"Guess so," Cardona says from next to him. "Feel as ready as I'll ever be. You?"
"Guess so," Mox echoes. Heath, Matt Rehwoldt and Malakai Black are on either side of them, also staring up at where they all will be sent shortly.
"Then let's do this thing," Heath says, dusting off his digivice against his vest. "Sooner we get Ziggler back, sooner we can return to protecting the rest of the digiworld and the little digimon."
Mox nods, chewing absently on a toothpick before stepping forward. "Yep, everyone get close," he says, holding his own digivice out towards the rip in the sky. "Digiport," he calls out, digivice extended, "open!"
It's blinding, disorienting, going from the blue skies and warm weather of the digiworld to the gloomy atmosphere of the dark ocean, the wind chilly and bitter against their faces. "Shit," Heath grimaces. "I hate it here."
"So do I," Cardona grouses. "But Ziggler's been here too long. Let's find 'im, bring him home." For a moment, just a split second, Matt is frozen, looking around, thinking about the hell his best friend may have endured while they were all on earth, waiting for Luke to find a safe way inside this zone.
"Yeah," Heath says, clapping Matt on the shoulder, a quiet kind of support between them. "Let's do this."
The group of them begin to trudge forward, their digimon partners watchful and diligent at their sides. "Hear anything?" Mox asks Otamamon.
"No," he hedges. "It sounds quiet, but that means very little here. We should keep our eye out on things just in case."
"Yep, already doing," Mox says grimly. He stares at his digivice. "Luke said this might be able to tell us where Ziggler is, but so far I'm gettin' nothing." He turns his cool gaze onto Cardona. "Maybe you'd have better luck, considering."
Cardona stares back at him, then nods briskly, gripping his digivice and searching its screen desperately. "Wait," he's just said. "I think I see something-"
Before he can finish speaking, there's a sharp sound, a brutal explosion, and they're all sent flying away, the world fading before them.
