A/N: Hello! I hope you guys enjoy this first installment. I've written most of the chapters that each feature a different character finding out about Harvey and Donna. Let me know your guys' thoughts and if I should continue.
I. LOUIS
The first person to find out about Harvey and Donna was Louis Litt. Louis Marlowe Litt. Louis—who is eccentric and is ninety-nine percent of the time the most oblivious person at the firm, was able to connect the dots. To be fair, he didn't figure it out all by himself, but he'd like to think otherwise. What others might call luck is what he calls his Litt-radar (when really, it was his dictaphone).
It was on a Monday morning after he had written the press release to mediate the whole Robert situation when he spotted Donna sitting at her desk. He had the press release in one hand along with his dictaphone, which he uses every morning to give himself words of encouragement. He had tried calling Harvey to go over the document before office hours, but with every dial, Harvey's phone went straight to voicemail. So, Louis gave up calling Harvey and thought it would be better to just wait.
Now that he spotted Donna, he figured that she would know where Harvey was.
"Donna," He called out as he sauntered in her office, all Louis like.
"Hey Louis," Donna responded with a smile as she raised her eyes from her laptop.
Louis stopped in his tracks. Now, it is not an unknown fact that Louis Litt treats and sees Donna like a goddess. He loves Sheila, don't get him wrong, but Donna was currently radiating a different type of glow in his eyes.
"Woah, woman. Have you been doing that secretive yoga again?" He asks, his face contorting with curiosity as he set his dictaphone and the press release down on her desk.
Donna sat back on her chair, confused as to what Louis was getting at, but before she could say anything, Louis continued rambling.
"It's just the last time you were glowing this much, you said you were doing yoga but I knew it wasn't yoga. This glow has to be something else other than yoga. It's different. So what is it this time? You're practically beaming brighter than a thousand suns of Juliet's Verona," Louis rattled off.
As he was speaking, Donna had somewhat zoned out trying to figure out the context of Louis' sudden array of questions. Glowing. Yoga. But not really yoga. Oh. Oh. At that moment, she was transported back to the conversation she had with Rachel that Louis accidentally overheard; The conversation about all the great sex she was having with Stephen at the time. Donna cringed internally at the memory that she let a murderer get that close to her, but Louis' questions were finally making sense.
She had, indeed, done some yoga that morning (if you call Harvey deliciously worshipping her body early in the morning as yoga). The thought of Harvey being with her this morning snapped Donna back to reality and is met with Louis' prying eyes. It's when she tried to look away that she spotted Harvey from the corner of her eyes, that Louis took his attention off of her.
"Harvey! You finally decided to show up. You kept sending me to voicemail this morning, what was that all about?" Louis asked.
Donna tried to keep her smirk to herself because she had been the one to send Louis' phone calls to voicemail as her and Harvey were too busy tangled in each other's limbs. Harvey side-eyes Donna discreetly, unsure of what to say to Louis as he and Donna had agreed no to tell anyone about their relationship quite yet.
"Yes, Harvey, why did you decline all of Louis' calls?" Donna jibed, as both men turned to look back at her. Harvey raised one eyebrow directed at her as if to say, so that's how you want to play.
"Louis, weren't you asking Donna about what was making her glow?" Harvey expertly changed the topic, much to Donna's surprise, because she was hoping he had not heard all of Louis' questions.
The spotlight shifted back on Donna as Louis was waiting for an answer, clearly no longer interested in the whole rejected voicemails fiasco. Harvey stood next to Louis, smiling that smile of his, and Donna had to resist the urge to roll her eyes.
"Maybe it's just the new… position I've been taking," Donna said carefully unsure of where she was going with that. It was a weak excuse, and Harvey knew it with the way he masked his laugh with a cough.
Louis frowned, "New position? Did you switch desks? Because last time I checked, you were still COO."
Harvey interrupted before Donna could clarify, "Oh, she's definitely taking some new positions lately. Right, Donna?"
Donna narrows her eyes, clearly annoyed and only a little bit amused, "Yes, Harvey. It's all about finding the right…fit."
With that answer, Louis looks at both of his friends with more wonderment, not noticing the way Harvey's eyes darkened with Donna's innuendo. But then Donna laughs and says, "I meant yoga positions, Louis."
"Well what position is it, Donna?"
Donna could practically hear Harvey's laugh bubbling up but she remained composed, "I don't remember, Louis. But sometimes, you just need a good…stretch to keep things interesting. I'll let my instructor know that it is working, though."
Donna flicks her eyes toward Harvey, enjoying the way he cleared his throat. She knows she got him, and two can play at this game.
Louis nods in agreement and sincerely says, "Stretching is good. Maybe I should start doing yoga again."
"You definitely should, Louis. You know, flexibility can make a difference," Harvey adds.
Donna smirks and still plays along, "Especially when you're trying to keep up with someone who likes to take charge," and winks at Harvey when Louis wasn't looking.
The innuendo completely passes over Louis' head, much to Donna and Harvey's relief.
"Flexibility. Difference. Got it. Anyway, back to my original purpose of coming here," Louis adds, "I need you both to read the press release about Robert."
With that, they were back to business.
Later that night, as Louis was packing up to head home, he realized that he was missing his dictaphone. That thing was practically his lifeline and if he lost it, he was going to sue. Sue who, he does not know, but someone will definitely pay for it. But, when he traced back what he did during the day, he remembers that he left it in Donna's office.
He carefully opens her glass door and quickly retrieved the dictaphone. He returned to his office to replay the contents of the dictaphone of the day, and as he quickly surfed through the contents, he recognizes some familiar voices. It was Donna and Harvey, having a conversation. Based on what Louis was hearing, it was after they both had signed off on the press release and he had went about his day.
Their voices crackled through the small speakers.
"Louis isn't wrong, you are glowing," Harvey said in a playful tone.
"I know he isn't. I wonder who's responsible for that though," Donna replied.
Louis listened intently, wondering if he'll finally figure out Donna's secret to her glow.
"Would that happen to be the handsome man that was in your bed this morning? The one who rocked your world many, many times?"
Donna laughs heartily. "It would."
Donna having a mystery man was almost shocking to Louis, but not as shocking as what Louis heard next.
It was the sound of lips. Kissing. Louis tried real hard to find an explanation to whom Donna could be kissing other than Harvey, but he was definitely not coming up with a proper interpretation.
"I think we have to test out those yoga positions again tonight." Harvey's voice making presence again, slightly out of breath from the kiss.
"I guess we do." Donna says, and you can hear the smile in her voice.
"Seriously though, you don't think Louis picked up on it, right?" Harvey asked.
Picked up on what? Louis wondered.
"That we're together? Definitely not. I think he lost hope about us a long time ago." Donna sighed.
"When should we tell them?"
"Not anytime soon. I like that it's just us who knows, Harvey. I want to make sure that when we share our news, the people we love are in the right frame of mind to hear it. Besides, don't you want to sneak around to explore more positions for a bit?"
"I thought the office was off limits for sex," Harvey chuckled.
"That might change with how good you look in this suit."
"Says the one who has been teasing me with this dress all day."
"You watched me put it on."
"I know, but I really want take it off."
"We've been in the office for approximately 13 minutes, Harvey."
"But we've been late for 13 years."
"You're an idiot."
Louis hears another kiss, and by his calculations it was probably initiated by Harvey with the way Donna's words were muffled at the end.
"I'll see you later, Donna."
"See you later, Harvey," Donna replied breathlessly.
Louis turns off his dictaphone, shocked at the information that he had just learned about. Donna and Harvey are together. Like together—together. Not in a they slept together once or in a it-is-not-that-simple type of way, but together. Finally. He could tell the world. Hell, he could tell Gretchen right now. He needs to tell someone.
And yet.
He remembers Donna's words from the dictaphone and decides against it. His friends will tell him when they're ready. Normally he would be offended, but it sounds like he is the first to know, though accidentally, but he'll take it.
He'll keep it a secret for now.
