Another day, another period in the assassination classroom. Current subject: Politics.

"Well done, Mimura, Isogai and Maehara!" Korosensei said to the 3 boys standing in front of the blackboard, "At first I wasn't certain about you using the Hunger Games for your review of political works, but the three of you did an excellent job bringing out the overall satirical theme and subtle messaging."

"Thanks Korosensei," Maehara smiled, "We did our best."

"Sure you did," Isogai rolled his eyes, "All you did was watch the movies."

"Yeah, movie and book comparison is great for analytical work. And by watching and leaving the reading to you guys, the work got nicely divided." Maehara shrugged.

"Sure, whatever you say." Mimura responded awkwardly.

"I've honestly never seen or read the series," Okuda spoke up, "Being put into an arena and having to kill your friends sounds terrifying."

"Well, we'd at least have an advantage, since we're already training under professor K," Okano spoke up. "Minus the whole 'murder other kids' part, I think we'd do great out there."

"Nurufufu, is that so?" Korosensei smiled before disappearing and bringing in Karasuma. "Mr. Karasuma, how about for the next multi-day survival exercise, we put the students in a battle royale, Hunger Games style?! A massive battle, survival of the fittest, until only one remains!"

"Alright, I suppose that could work as training. Next multi-day exercise is this weekend, so that works." Karasuma shrugged.

"Great!" Korosensei shouted, "The winner will receive no homework for the entire next week, and gets to dine on Karasuma's dime!"

"DON'T GO DECIDING THAT FOR ME!" Karasuma shouted as he lunged his knife at Korosensei.

"Totally I'm game," Kurahashi spoke up, "Dinner with professor Karasuma is a dream come true!"

"Sweetie, I think you're kinda missing the point." Nakamura responded to the animal lover.

"Alright everyone," Isogai spoke as he stood up and positioned himself towards the rest of the class, "In the name of becoming better assassins, let's do this!"

Cheers came from the whole class, everyone excited for the unorthodox, but exhilarating exercise.

A few days later, everyone changed into their combat gear and headed for the sports field. In the middle of the field, there was an assortment of crates, satchels and bags, making it hard to see what was inside.

"Uh, I don't recall the weapons being all wrapped up like that…" Sugino spoke up.

"Nurufufufu, all part of the exercise, my boy," Korosensei smiled, "Turning everything into random items makes the initial fight or flight decision harder, and will push you to call upon your resourcefulness."

"He has a point," Karma commented, "But no matter, I'm sure I can beat all of you with whatever I manage to grab."

"Alright everyone," Karasuma shouted, drawing everyone's attention, "It's almost time for the Hunger Games battle royale exercise, so I'll explain the rules one more time. The game will start in exactly 20 minutes, at 3pm sharp, and will last until sunday noon the latest. Either anyone who's still alive after these 45 hours, or the last two people left standing will gather here for a gladiator fight, using whatever items they acquired until one person remains. As always, you kill your opponents using harmless weapons with paint applied to them, and Ritsu will confirm the kill to me and the other teachers, who will act as judges."

"Count on me!" Ritsu smiled, "I'll be available all throughout the game."

"Location wise," Karasuma continued, "the entire mountain is your battlefield. This includes the school building, except for your classroom, where the dead people will remain during the night."

"Sweet, we get to sleep out in the wilderness." Okano grinned.

"Hmmm, not looking forward to that," Kayano sighed, "I don't want to catch hypothermia."

"No worries about that, children," Korosensei spoke up, "Your combat uniform is equipped to regulate your body temperature, so nights should be a bit chilly and uncomfortable at worst, even if you don't get your hands on any sleeping gear."

"There's actually sleeping gear?" Kataoka asked.

"Indeed," Korosensei nodded, "Aside from all the stuff gathered in the middle of the field, I have scattered all manner of weapons, food and other items around the mountain. And to even further your need for resourcefulness, craftiness and creativity, few weapons are the knives and guns you're used to by now. That being said, I've also placed several traps that might be just as lethal as a strike from your classmate."

"Wow, they really went all out for this exercise!" Kimura commented.

"Indeed we did," Karasuma nodded, "The octopus was so insistent on recreating the feeling of the hunger games, he'll even shoot fireworks on the hour for everyone who has fallen and display their image by nightfall."

"That sounds like him alright." Fuwa responded.

"One last question," Yada said as she raised her hand, "Are we allowed to team up?"

"Ah, very good question, Yada," Korosensei spoke up, "One of the biggest dilemma's in battle royale survival is always whether you should team up or play it solo. Do you go for safety in numbers with the risk of being backstabbed by your fellow assassin, or do you go alone without such risk? The choice is completely up to you, but I won't allow any post-game grudges because of any treachery or dirty play that happened during the battle as long as it's within the rules, understood? playing quick and dirty to become the last one standing is the name of the game, and a tactic any assassin should have in their arsenal when the need arises."

"Yes sir!" The class shouted.

"Very well, I believe that's everything," Karasuma said as he checked his watch, "Everyone please take your positions in your assigned spots around the item pile. The game will start at 3pm sharp."

All students got up and took their respective places. Supervising the place were Korosensei, Karasuma and Irina, sitting on a platform overseeing the main field.

"This is certainly going to be interesting," Irina said, "Forcing those students to survive long term and using unconventional weaponry. You sure this got to do with your assassination?"

"Maybe not directly," Korosensei admitted, "But then again, this is different from their usual PE classes. As I already told the students, this exercise will train their survival skills, resourcefulness, and creativity, as well as their ingenuity and endurance. Any one of them can win this game if they play it smart."

Ritsu, who's main body was brought outside and standing next to the teachers, suddenly started speaking, loud enough for everyone to hear.

"Alright everyone, let the games begin in 10…9…8…7…6…5…4…3…2…1…

GO!"

SPLAT!

As everyone started running, either towards the pile or the forest, Nakamura stood still, one foot outside of her spot and absolutely covered in red paint.

"Nurufufu, seems someone was a bit too eager to get started," Korosensei chuckled. "Too bad, miss Nakamura."

"Sonnuva..!" The blonde girl cursed, "You actually placed paint mines?"

"Correct," Ritsu confirmed, "And it seems you left your spot 0.87 seconds too early, resulting in your death."

"Well, that bites," Irina spoke up, "Girl's gonna be walking around like a tomato for a while."

"Not to worry," Karasuma responded, "Their gear is easily washable, and we got showers installed in the changing rooms a couple months ago."

"Anyway, let's keep watching," Korosensei said, "Nakamura might have been the first victim, but she's no longer the only one."

Around the pile, quite a few students had chosen to engage in the all-out brawl.

Kimura, who was the fastest runner in class, reached the pile first and grabbed a bag, quickly checking it and pulling out a couple balloons filled with paint.

"Sweet!" The green-haired boy said, getting ready for any attackers. But before he could do anything, Okano jumped up from behind him and kicked his feet from under him, causing him to fall and the balloons to splat open on him.

"Sorry Kimura, better luck next time!" the gymnast winked as she snatched his bag and ran off into the woods.

Terasaka, followed by Yoshida and Muramatsu, had grabbed a crate and slammed it to the ground, breaking it open and gaining direct access to the content.

"Dude, careful. you'll damage the goods." Muramatsu shouted.

"No time for that, we gotta grab what we can before getting the hell out of here!" Terasaka sneered back as he picked up a large club.

"Wow Terasaka, now you're really rocking the caveman look."

Karma was grinning a devilish smile, standing atop a crate and holding a satchel over his shoulder.

"Crap, of course he's here!" Yoshida shouted and he grabbed the nearest weapon, which turned out to be a plunger, "Why the hell is this a weapon?!"

"Luck of the draw, I guess," Karma responded as he jumped back avoiding Terasaka's swings before pulling out a can of spray paint and spraying a large X over the large boys' face, "And that's one down. Who's ne…"

But before the red-haired boy could finish, a paint ball appeared out of nowhere, hitting the back of his skull.

"What the…Who did that!?"

"Nice shot." Hayami said to Chiba, who was armed with a slingshot. The pair had teamed up and were hiding in the bushes near the edge of the field.

"It was now or never," Chiba responded, "Karma's too dangerous to be left alive, and no one expects outside attacks during the opening brawl."

"Quite clever from our snipers," Korosensei said while munching on popcorn, "Karma was undoubtedly prepared for any close combat attack, but it seems Chiba got lucky by finding an excellent weapon despite choosing to run rather than fight."

"Shit!" Yoshida and Muramatsu immediately ducked behind the crates as they realized the snipers were hanging around. Sugino and Hara, who had been in combat with Isogai and Maehara, quickly did the same before anyone else got hit.

"Guys, how about a truce until we're safe from the snipers?!" Isogai shouted.

"Agreed! but how do we get rid of those two?!" Sugino asked.

"Search the crates and bags! Maybe we can find something to fire back!" Hara responded.

The six started to carefully move around, looking for anything useful.

"I got a blanket!" Muramatsu shouted, "We could use that to cover ourse…"

Suddenly, a scream sounded from the sniper's nest, and Hayami came running out slapping around her body. Isogai reacted lightning fast, shooting the girl with a blowgun he had found in a satchel and hitting her on the cheek.

"Score!" Maehara shouted, "Now get back before Chiba shoots you!"

"There's no need for that!"

Everyone looked back as Hazama came walking out of the bushes carrying an axe, followed by Chiba, who's throat was covered in paint.

"That was a dirty trick, Hazama!" Hayami groaned as she got back up, wiping her face.

"And that was a sweet scream, Rinka," Hazama retorted with a sadistic grin, "Never took you for the screaming type."

"Tch…"

"Hold on, someone please explain what just happened!" Maehara shouted, "Did Hazama just take out both Hayami and Chiba on her own?"

"Not exactly," The black-haired girl responded as she held up her hand, showing a large tarantula. "Chiba wasn't the only one who found a perfect weapon. Once this baby snuck up on Hayami's back and sent her screaming, Chiba was so disoriented it was a cakewalk to finish the job."

"You're amazing, Hazama." Sugino deadpanned.

"Also terrifying." Hara added.

"Why thank you," Hazama grinned. "Anyway, what do you guys say the seven of us team up for now and loot the treasure pile?"

"I can't believe you actually considered a spider as a weapon." Karasuma said as he looked at Korosensei.

"Nurufufufu, I had a feeling it would serve as an excellent blade for some of the students," Korosensei chuckled, "And it looks like I was right."

"She's absolutely terrifying," Irina said, "Oh, hello there Nakamura."

"Hi there, professor Bitch," Nakamura responded as she sat down on the platform, wearing her regular gym uniform, "What did I miss?"

"Quite a bit," Ritsu spoke up, "Kimura, Terasaka, Karma, Hayami and Chiba all got killed. Furthermore, it seems Isogai, Maehara, Sugino, Hara, Hazama, Muramatsu and Yoshida have all teamed up to plunder the central pile."

"Damn, both Karma and the snipers are out?" The blonde girl responded, "Seems this game is really breaking from the status quo."

"Nurufufu, you shouldn't underestimate any of your classmates," Korosensei smiled, "Even I have no idea who will win this."

"So we already 6 kills and 7 people teaming up," Irina commented, "Ritsu, any idea how the remaining 14 are doing?"

"I'm on it!"
