As the ever crescent moon rose over the mountain, Okano woke up from her slumber. Tying herself loose from the tree branch she had been sleeping on, she looked into the sky. Using a lantern, Korosensei was displaying the portraits and names of her classmates at mach speed. 9 people down, 17 to go.

In the main building, Muramatsu and Yoshida were patrolling. The cook was armed with a shield and mace, while the biker held a super soaker filled with paint.

"Man, this sucks," Yoshida sighed. He and Muramatsu were walking through the halls as the other members of their unlikely alliance were staying in one of the empty rooms. "All the dead people get bentos in the next room over while we survive on dry ration foods. I'd even settle for some of your disgusting ramen."

"Hey, not cool man," Muramatsu responded, "Besides, it could be worse. At least we got shelter, and plenty of those dry ration foods. I mean, did you see Isogais face when he saw all that food?"

"True," The biker grinned, "For a second I thought he was gonna fight us for the rations."

"Guess that comes with being President Poverty." Muramatsu grinned as he kept walking.

"..."

"Yoshida?"

As the cook turned back, Kataoka had appeared behind Yoshida, covering the bikers mouth and drawing a line of paint over his neck with a kunai.

"Shit!" Muramatsu raised his weapon, but was promptly pushed to the ground as both Yada and Kurahashi landed on top of him, pushing the air out of his lungs.

"Quick!" Kataoka said, passing the kunai to Yada, who quickly jabbed it on Muramatsu's neck.

"Sonnuva… How the hell did you get here?" Yoshida asked as Kataoka let him go and he fell on his knees, "We checked every entry thoroughly."

"Simple really," Yada smiled, "Meg figured out this building would quickly become a fortress for the central loot."

"So at the start of the game, we immediately snuck in and have been hiding under the roof for the last few hours." Kurahashi continued.

"It wouldn't be easy given we only had a single weapon, but it turned out alright," Kataoka smiled, "Now if you'll excuse us,we'll be on our way."

The three girls silently ran towards the storage room, leaving the two flabbergasted boys for dead.

Entering the storage room, the girls quickly stacked up on weapons, food and gear.

"Say, couldn't we hide again and try to strike the next patrol?" Kurahashi asked.

"Too risky," Kataoka responded as they walked out of the room, "They'll likely search the entire building when they find out what happened to the bo…"

"Look out!" Yada shouted as she pulled Kataoka back by her collar before the class representative could turn the corner. A fraction of a second later, a paint balloon flew by and splatted against the wall, leaving a giant mess.

"It's Sugino! Get back!" The three girls quickly ran back as they heard the baseball geek running through the hall, followed by more footsteps. They ran into back into the storage room, locking the door shut.

"It's no good! We're trapped!" Yada shouted as someone on the other side started charging into the door.

"Not quite!," Kataoka said as she pointed toward a small window, "We can get out through there."

The other girls nodded and opened the window. Kurahashi snuck out first, as she was the smallest. But as Yada got halfway through, the door nearly flung out of its frame, forcing Kataoka to throw her body against it to prevent the others from getting in.

"Here's HARA!" The voice from the E class mom sounded from the other side.

"Meg! Come on, we gotta get out of here!" Yada pleaded as she held out her hand towards her.

"No…! Run! I'll hold them off!" Meg said as Hara charged the door again, nearly sending the class didact flying.

"But…"

"No buts! Get out of here!" Kataoka shouted.

"I hate it when you sacrifice yourself for others," Yada sighed, but gave her a smile, "Thank you. You really are the IkeMeg."

"Good luck," Kataoka smiled as the ponytailed girl jumped out the window. As she heard Hara charging again, she quickly rolled to the side. Without any resistance, the chubby girl slammed through the door without losing momentum and hit the wall hard. Kataoka reacted fast, grabbing a sword from the pile and hitting Hara on the back, rendering her dead.

"Very impressive, Meg."

As the girl turned around she saw Isogai, who was also carrying a sword, and was flanked by Sugino and Maehara.

"Thanks, I'll take that as a compliment." Kataoka smiled. In the blink of an eye, both class representatives were crossing blades.

"Did you see that? Two people were running out of the building."

Kayano and Kanzaki were sitting on the edge of the field, armed with a bow and saber respectively.

"I have a feeling things are really heating up in there," The green-haired girl spoke up, "Should we try and go in?"

"Bad idea," Kanzaki shook her head, "We'll likely just get caught in the crossfire. But maybe you can hit some stragglers from the cover of darkness."

"Couldn't have said it better myself."

Before either girl could react, a throwing dagger hit Kanzaki in the turned around seeing a glimpse of Hazama's signature nightmare grin before the black-haired girl disappeared in the bushes. Kayano picked up Kanzaki's saber and tried to spot Hazama, but couldn't see her in the darkness. Even when the witch girl began to speak, it seemed to come from everywhere around her.

"I was originally going after the girls who stole from us, but I guess the guys will get them. You'll suffice in the meantime."

Suddenly a flashlight shone in Kayano's face, completely ruining her night vision. Less than three seconds later, someone jumped on her back, pushing her to the ground and forcing her weapon out of her hand.

"I call this one the Osschaert Scuttle. Not bad, eh?"

As Kayano turned her head, Hazama's ghoulish face stared back, raising a dagger for the final strike. The green-haired girl sighed as she accepted her fate, but she heard a whack and felt Hazama slide off her.

"Damn, that felt pretty good. You'd think the gavel would suit Kimura better, given his first name and all."

"Okano, is that you?" Kayano asked as she got up.

"Hey Kayano, you still alive?" Okano answered with a smile, "You poor thing, that must've been terrifying, being assaulted by Hazama."

"Of course, I take pride in my work." Hazama groaned as she stood up and walked off to the graveyard.

Kayano felt around for a weapon. The game was still on, after all.

"What now, are you gonna kill me next?"

"Me?" Okano responded, "Nah, I'll give you a pass this time. I think you've had it hard enough for now. Plus, you were great at distracting Hazama. Even I can't see her in the dark."

Kayano sighed in relief: "Thanks."

"Don't mention it," Okano smiled as she picked up Hazama's dagger, "Next time I won't be so nice though."

"Fair enough."

As Okano disappeared in the trees, Kayano found Hazama's flashlight and decided to retreat. She was alone, but at least she was still in the game.

"Damn, that was eventful!"

"No kidding, and literally right outside our doorstep."

The dead people had been watching the fights intently, most of them already changed into gymwear and under a blanket. One by one Yoshida, Muramatsu, Hara, Kanzaki, Hazama and Kataoka came walking in.

"Well done, all of you." Korosensei praised.

"Yeah, right. We blew it!" Muramatsu sighed as he sat down and grabbed a bento, "I can't believe the girls caught us off guard like that."

"Of course," Irina spoke up, "I taught Yada and Kurahashi how to hide their bloodlust, a skill impeccable for infiltration assassins."

"Indeed," Korosensei added, "And Kataoka's scheme to immediately hide inside the hotspot was brilliant. That being said, it seems you girls got a bit careless at the end."

"I know," Kataoka sighed as she wiped paint from her torso, "I hoped to at least take Isogai out when I let Yada and Kurahashi escape, but alas, he beat me to the punch."

"Still, I bet you scored some brownie points with you-know-who." Nakamura grinned as she playfully elbowed the class representative.

"I'm… not sure what you're talking about," Kataoka smiled awkwardly.

"Hara, you made good use of your strength," Korosensei said as he turned towards the chubby girl, "But sadly, this made you predictable, giving Kataoka an easy way to counterattack."

"Fair enough," Hara smiled as she rubbed her head, "I guess I got somewhat overexcited."

"As for you, Hazama," Korosensei continued, "Once more excellent use of your natural abilities. you knew of the adversaries waiting outside, and gave yourself the home field advantage by attacking in the dark."

"True," Kanzaki spoke up, "I had no idea she was behind us until she spoke up."

"The same can be said from Okano," Karasuma spoke up, "In total darkness, I feel even I would struggle against those two."

"Speaking of," Korosensei said as he turned back to Ritsu, " Any updates on the remaining 12 students, Ritsu?"

"Hmmmm," Ritsu thought for a second before showing a map of the mountain. " It seems Sugino, Isogai and Maehara are still in the building. Okuda and Fuwa are in the far north and seem to be sticking near the pool. Nagisa is more downstream in the northwest. Kayano has retreated west. After letting Kayano go, it seems Okano is still roaming the forests around the building. Yada and Kurahashi have fled south and seem to be setting up camp. Lastly, the other duo that abstained from attacking the building, Okajima and Itona, are staying south-east east.

"Everyone's pretty wide-spread, eh?" Karma spoke up, "I wonder if anyone else will get slaughtered this night."

"Unlikely," Karasuma responded, "The initial adrenaline rush is dying down, and they'll likely get tired as the night moves on. Okano might still try an attack on the building, but even she knows she should save her strength and energy and get enough sleep, at least on the first night. Over half the students is already in the graveyard, so their bloodlust should be satisfied for now."

"Works for me," Irina spoke up as she yawned, "I'd love to keep watching, but I'm getting tired as well."

"Okie-dokie, you heard your professor. Everyone to bed. You're all growing adolescents and you need your rest."

"Yes Korosensei…"

Though the students initially got to sleep pretty easily, none of them was happy when they were suddenly awakened by six fireworks exploding above the building, resulting in a few bedtime assassination attempts on their teacher.
