Ch. 1 - In the Lab

At home Dr. Isabella Gentri is asleep with her husband. Then her phones starts ringing.

"Honey your phone is going off."

"What time is it?" says Isabella.

"1 am. What is the lab calling your for?"

"I do not know." Isabella picks up her phone.

She looks at her caller id and it is someone she did not expect. She knows whatever this call is about, that it must be massively important. She jumps out of bed, and walks out the room. Isabella answers the phone.

"Hello."

"Dr. Gentri. We need you to come to the office right now."

"What is happening? Was the lab breached?"

"It escaped." Isabella's breathe hitches when she hears this. She makes her way to her office in her home.

"The lab or just its containment?" Trying to get as much information as she can.

"As far as we know, it is just the lab."

"Is anyone alive?" She asks already knowing the answer, but holding out for hope.

"No. Everyone in the lab is gone. We have not entered the room. I am sending you visuals."

Isabella logins into her office computer. She opens the link that was sent to her. The video in it plays, and all she sees is the carnage that was left of the attack.

"This is my worst nightmare. It cannot be allowed to escape the building."

"We moved into code white. Unless you have a way to recapture it, we will begin the Elimination Sequence."

"There is no safe way to accomplish that. Move ahead with the Elimination Sequence." They both hang up the call. The lights in the lab in the video, starts flashing, and a huge explosion happens and the video turns to static." Isabella sits back into her seats, and takes a much need breath. She puts her hands into her face, and she starts crying. The guilt of her lost colleagues ailing her. But she is not the only person feeling anguish in this moment. Not even the only person in this house.

Ch. 2 - Separated by a Wall

Upstairs is a room, holding a teenage girl. This girl is Selena Thompson. She is lying her in bed, covered in sweat, and shaking.

"No leave me alone, please leave me alone."

Inside her dreams, she is lying in her bed, and she is trying to move, but she can't. A demon is swallowing her whole, starting at her feet. She keeps trying to escape, begging and pleading. But the demon will not stop.

Selena is finally awakened, and when she opens her eyes she is drenched. She opens her eyes and her older brother is standing at the end of her bed with an empty cup.

"Flash!"

"Stop wakening me up with your screaming loser."

Flash walks out of her room, and slams the door.

Selena looks at the time and sees it is 8 am. She has to get ready for school. She does her morning routine, and puts on her Midtown sweatshirt with some simple black jeans. She comes to the bannister and looks downstairs hoping her dad's fiancé is not there.

Flash comes out of nowhere and pushes her out of the way. "Move loser."

She takes a breath and walks down the stairs. She gets into the kitchen and Isabella is there pouring herself some coffee. And her dad is on the phone doing business as usual.

Selena puts a bagel in the toaster, and grabs some cream cheese out the fridge. She grabs a knife and puts a lot of the cream cheese on the bagel, and goes to bite it.

"Do you really need all that on there?" She looks at Isabella, knowing that this would come.

"I mean the wedding is in a short time, and we will not have time to tailor the dress."

Selena looks at her dad hoping he would say something, and he does not even notice her or this one-sided conversation. She puts the bagel back on the plate, and grabs an apple. She goes to leave, when her dad tells her to put up her dishes.

She looks back at him with disgust on her face. She cleans her plate, and then goes outside to ride with Flash to school, and he is gone. Selena sits down on houses steps, and puts her head on her lap.

She was used to this. Her and Flash were never close, and after their parents' divorce they got even farther apart. Their mother had abandoned them when they younger and left to raise a family with the man she was cheating on their father with. She had begged her mother to take her with her, and her mother had just left her. And that put a bigger divide between her and Flash.

Ch. 3 – Wrong Vibes

Selena's POV

I look up at the sky and take a breath, just trying put myself together to even go to school today. I walk down the street little before I put in a search for a ride share, to take met the closest subway. From I can make it to Midtown. The ride share comes and she matches the plates to the one on her phone. And she goes to match the face with the picture on the app, but sees someone else in the car.

"Hello. I am here to pick you up." The driver says.

"I am good, thank you for coming. But I got another ride."

"Well I am already here you might as well get in. You are going to get charged a cancellation fee." He pushes.

"I said I am fine."

He goes to open the door, and I pull out pull pepper spray and he falters. I run farther town the street into a crowd, when I see Gwen Stacy. She is in my brother's grade and he has a huge crush on her, but she is too smart for him. And her dad is a cop.

"Hey Gwen."

"Hey." I can tell that she does not who I am. "I am Flash's little sister."

"Oh yeah. Sally right."

"Selena."

"Oh sorry."

"That's fine."

Gwen's dad comes outside. "Hello."

"Hi."

"Dad this is Selena Thompson, Eugene's little sister. She goes to Midtown as well."

"I was about to drive Gwen to the subway, do you need a ride?"

"Oh yes. Thank you. Flash needed to be school early for something."

We have to get into the back of Gwen's dads cruiser. The ride is short and silent. I just follow Gwen, and when we get on the train, I see Peter Parker and his friend Ned.

They are also in my brother grades. Flash treats them the same way as me.

I want to say hi to him, but Peter only has eyes for girls who look like Gwen or Liz.

The train makes it Midtown, and we walk to the school from there.
